I ordered this because it was I need one ASAP and didnt think it was necessary to pay $20 for one of these silly things. I got it to work on my 1/8 inch thick glass lid but its not made for that thickness. It has two rows of "ribs" running through it which make it impossible to squeeze it on 1/8 inch glass. I didnt have time to return it so I sliced the ribs out with a razor blade and got it to fit snuggly on the glass that way. Its for a smaller thickness of glass.

This product took a while to come in the FedEx delivery, but was as expected and in good condition. The only issue I had was that this was too small for my aquarium glass thickness. My mistake, but maybe include measurement instructions on the website for getting the correct thickness.Had I read the reviews more carefully I probably wouldn't have ordered this. But I'm glad I did read them before I tossed the hinge out. My glass is 1/8" thick and there was no way in the world this was going on. When I went back online to find another one to order I did read the reviews and decided to try cutting the ridges out--nothing to lose. I used a razor blade cutting tool and cut off the two ridges on only one side of each half of the hinge. It was a snug fit, but I got the hinge attached without too much difficulty. I could have cut off the other side but I was afraid it might be too loose. I wonder if the ridges are supposed to be softer and more flexible, but whoever is manufacturing them is making the ridges very "rigid" instead.Want Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy Hinge Black Small - 1 in. x 30 in.
