TOM TM1255 Aquarium Replacement Lamp Fits #1258, 9W 6400K Daylight

The original bulb for this set up included a gray hood to direct light towards the aquarium and prevent light from blinding you at eye level. Unfortunately, this is not so in the replacement bulb, which has a white hood and is not thick enough to block sufficient light. I attempted to take the old hood and put it on the new light but it is nearly permanently attached and requires you to break some of the permanent plastic fasteners to separate the hood and bulb. Overall, it was a bad design from the start.

I bought the 9w kit and it worked great for a month. Now I have to order another light bulb and who knows how long this will last. What's cheap is expensive I guess.
