I can't speak for long term of the product but 4 years later I wouldn't buy anything else. It will help Your Fish eat more even picky eaters, It helps them to remain healthy and if They do fall prey to a illness it helps w/ a quick recovery. Not that it's a cure but it builds up their immune system shortly after the first dose added to tank. I soak their food 2x's a week as well. It is a great Product!!!!!!

I first got this before trying other products. I did not notice a improvement nor did I notice any detrimental effects from this product. Our fish seemed to get more picky after feeding food soaked in this. I am not sure if it has a taste they don't like or it was just different. Did not have this issue with selcon soaked food.
