I found these small stove diffusers to be exactly what I was looking for at a really good price.

They produce smaller bubbles than a regular diffuser and that is exactly what I needed.

The last a long time.

I'm guessing I'm the first to review this item, because what can you really say about them??? Put them on the end of airline tubing attached to an air pump and with even low pressure, they will make tiny bubbles in the water for about a year. If your in a pinch or really cheap, you can often scrub them with dish detergent and a toothbrush and get another few months out of them, or just spent the extra dime and replace them, when they begin to clog up....
