Fluval Magnetic Impeller w/Straight Fan Blades, 304, 305

My old 304 has been loud for at least 8 months or so and it was getting loud and rattled. I replaced this part with not much faith that it would help but the price was low. Now my 304 is like new and sounds like my new 305 next to it (duel tank set up). I had replaced a broken ceramic rod and the plastic clip on holder before and it still rattled until I replaced the impeller. I'm average joe, don't have any special interest in the company etc. I just wanted to share that it worked for me.

As I said, once I have dropped this impeller into my Fluval 304 filter, it had cut down noise made by the filter from 86 to 68 decibel. I wish the filter was completely silent, but the noise reduction was pretty good.

When new I was really impressed with how quiet the Fluval filter was compared to others I had owned. It was starting to rattle badly and I did not realize that the magnetic impeller wore out. Replacing the impeller made the filter sound and perform like new.

This product arrived broken, one of the blades had broken in the package. It was shipped to my parents house to fix my mothers tank filter. I had to use the broken impeller since I live 3 hours away. it did still work with five blades but this is the last Hagen product I will buy, the quality is horrible.
