Tetra Anti-Algae Blocks for fountains, 6-Block

The blocks kept the algae away for about two weeks in a clean fountain, but after than, even though I followed directions, the algae formed. They may have kept it at bay a week or two longer than other products, but in the end, I've found nothing to deal with algae effectively in residential fountains.

I have tried several products to take care of algae build-up in our fountain and nothing works as well as these blocks! One block keeps it clean for weeks and by regularly putting them in, the fountain stays algae free for months!! I highly recommend them.

These fountain tablets as sent were way beyond their package expiration date but I tried them anyway. They were rock hard and basically did not melt in the water but sat there like a small white puck on the bottom doing nothing. The water turned an ugly shade of green as time went on. Went to the pool store and got some algae-cide and it worked fine. Not recommended for whatever reason but they don't work.

This product states right on the packaging NOT SAFE for fish or pets. That preety much made it useless . I would be scared to even use it in a fountain because of birds. It even goes as far to tell you it can contaminate run off water. Oh well i am getting use to the green pond water .
