Not good at all. Lasted all of five minutes...maybe ten if you count the time it took to gather up all the pieces and throw it and then the other TUFF toy into a bag to return to Amazon because the other one was destroyed too.

I bought two of these Tuffy toys: the octopus and the ring (which is bigger). The tendrils concerned me when I saw them but I thought...nah..these people make TOUGH toys.

turns out: nope. not so much.

I am concerned that dog people may believe these toys are especially safe and I'm sorry but they're not. They're tougher than many toys, I will give them that. But if your dogs chew and my dogs are dogs that like to chew their toys, this may not last a whole lot longer than a kong wubbie or the rubber devil toy.

My dogs go for the squeeker. Five minutes on this one. Ten minutes on the ring. RIGHT THROUGH ALL THE LAYERS.

TUFF PEOPLE: you can do it better!! QUILT the layers. LATER FOR THE STUFFING. My dogs don't need soft gooey toys. They need tough toys for strong dog jaws and those lovely white teeth. I showed you I am willing to pay for a tougher toy. Now give my dogs one and you'll get my gratitude and my business.

Our dog has had many Tuffy Toys and this is the only one we had a problem with. He managed to chew off and swallow the tentacles within minutes (yes he was supervised, we were unable to stop him before he swallowed them). Luckily I was able to induce vomiting and avoid an expensive trip to the emergency hospital.

My girlie BT is a brute when it comes to destroying toys. Unlike the other 2 toys I ordered with this one. Tuffy squid is the only one still alive and going strong. She was able to chew a little of the "skin" off but underneath it is strong enough to hold up. The shape of this one is good for tug play too. The overall stitching and construction materials are durable. Definitely recommended for chewbacas....

This Squid seemed to be made quite well & it is actually but my dog (Golden Retriever x Mini Poodle) just tears anything that is flexible or made of fabric!

First he started chewing the tenticles and figured out where they were attached at the main body and removed them.

Next he started disecting the bottom where the tenticles are attached followed by the inside stuffing.

It lasted a total of 1 hour.
