I bought this perch for some special needs budgies(they have splay legs)that we are fostering and it works great for them. They are able to perch on this easily which gets them off the bottom of the cage. We have a small wood ladder attached so that they can climb on that to get to the perch.

I gave this item 5 stars because my finches LOVE it!!!HOWEVER, I have ordered this item 3 times. The 1st it came great!!! 2nd it came with a missing washer, so I fastened it with 2 instead of 4, so that it was level and flush in my cage. 3rd time, 2day...came without a screw!!! Well, this is a problem, as the hole in the ladder and the washers...as well as the wing nut do not match any screws in my garage. So now, I have to bring the 1 screw to the hardware to see if I can get a close match. Pain in the neck...Amazon couldn't send me parts or a replacement. They offered a refund...but I really just want the perch. oh well...I am really glad I ordered this little shelf. It is very versatile, easy to clean, and easy to put up and take down. I like it because I can put a small foraging bowl on it so the foraging bowl stays off of the floor of the cage.I have two parakeets and they both love this perch. They use it to sleep on every night. It's big enough for both of them to stand on (there's room for at least a third parakeet, maybe a forth) but since it's a corner perch, it doesn't take up too much room in the cage. Very happy with it.
