Zoo Med Flora Sun Plant Bulb T5 High Output 24 Watts, 22-Inch

Description said to pair this bulb with the Ultra Sun Trichromatic Super Daylight Bulb for best tank color and plant growth. This is the second time we have tried this pairing only to see the our aquarium plants continue their downward spiral. In between these two attempts, we used two 6800K bulbs by another manufacturer and our plants looked really great. Not sure why a so-called "plant bulb" would not be better for the plants, but we'll go back to the two 6800K bulbs.

I would not recommend this for an aquarium. First I do not like the purple tint it gives to the tank. Second, I put this in a 20 gallon long planted tank with DIY CO2. My drop checker shows green and I have flourite down for the plants. Since putting this bulb in my plants have lost much color and I have brown algae. I am online now switching to a Hagen Life-glo which has better reviews.

Works well enough, and I have had no problems with this product. But again, these seemed to be designed specifically for the Zoo Med lighting...

These are hard to find at reasonable prices at local fish store, I change them once yearly to keep my plants healthy.
