My fish don't seem to mind. Water quality tests good after a week.I try to change filter every two weeks. Though directions say it can last a month.
Super easy, no messy charcoal or sediment to worry about. No cloudy water.
Eheim is best external filter I've tried and may quite be the only one I'll trust.
There may be more expensive ones and more complicated, but eheim external filter tank serves my purpose well.
4 stars for cost at 9-10 $, unless found on sale.
They probably cost like 2-3 cents to make.
