I would definitely buy another without hesitation.I bought the Marina C25 compact heater about 2 weeks ago. I was worried about purchasing this because of the bad reviews, but I decided to go for it because it was on sale at my local fish store. This heater looks EXACTLY like the Fluval Compact Heater 25watt. The heater is thin, and not at all bulky like it is made to appear in the photo. This heats my Fluval Edge 6 Gallon perfectly! The temperature is a constant 76-78 degrees. I had to remove my thermometer just to make sure it was working (it was) because I never saw fluctuations in temperature.
The directions do say that you should submerge the heater into the tank and leave in there (unplugged) for about 10 min. I left it in for an hour before plugging it in. I was worried about fully submersing the entire thing into the water (even the part where the cord comes into the heater), but IT IS OK to do that. I had to research it on a different site to make sure I wasn't going to get electrocuted. The heater needs to be underwater at all times. This heater is awesome, and I definitely recommend this product.
