I bought this to help circulate the water in my 10 gal. tank & it more than does the job! When my Betta does pass in front of it, he gets whisked up in the currentwhich he doesn't seem to mind since he keeps doing it instead of avoiding it! Plus it's so small you hardly notice it; especially if you put a tall plant around it.

dont get me wrong the product is great but i just dont like how it just hangs there a small thug or pull and comes off will be better if could stick to wall or attach better

Not much flow but works for what I needed it for...It's quiet. However I'm sure the rating for 40 gallon is way off...more like a 5 gallon
