To try and get a piece of silversides fish onto it ,or off once placed on it was difficult...to say the least.
I ended up sanding it to a point-like tip using common sandpaper.
It still didn't help.
A fellow reef-board member stated he had purchased the same item with the same results.
His solution, to glue a pin on the tip that the food could be easily pushed onto, & pulled from.
Once the fish (or anenome in my case) grabbed hold of it.
Need to try this "mod" myself.able to feed my anemones much easier in my 220 gallon tank. much better than the chopsticks I was using.
Buy Feeding Prong - 17 in. Now
This is not what i expected but i guess for the price it is okay. My father was wanting something easy to feed his anenome with and i just dont see this being any easier than what he already has. Our problem is getting the food to fall off the stick into the anemone and I just dont see this helping with that problem.I received this product on time and it works wonderfully for putting pieces of shrimp on the end to individually feed my crabs and anenomes. The only thing that would make it better is if it was longer and maybe had a "clamp" that would hold the food on as sometimes it slides off before I can get it to the fish. I have a 75 gal tank so anything that I need to feed at the bottom gets half my arm wet.
