Reef Care NO3:PO4-X Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer - 16.9 oz.

Reef Care NO3:PO4-X Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer - 16.9 oz.Read the reviews and thats why got this product, had hi nitrate in my 60 gal cube saltwater tank.

I also read the instructions, were found a bit confusing, I dropped 3 ml pretty close to the powerhead to diffuse the solution. But did nothing with the nitrate levels.

The second day dropped 10 ml.(11am) and left for work... Came home around 5 pm and all the fishes were DEAD. 2 clowfishes, a blue and yellow tang, a goby and 3 cleaner shrimps... :( took a water sample and went with my LFS, he tested and said the amonia levels were 0, nitrite levels were extremely HIGH and nitrate levels were still high, but because the nitrite is very toxic, that was the cause of the dead.

Changed 50% of the water and waited a week to get a new fish. Now that I got everything again, I wont put that solution again in my tank.

I know, you might say, that is because might had put a lot on it, but the instructions were not clean at all.

So be careful

I gave this 5 stars as it far exceeded my expectations.

Instructions are easy to understand, important is to know your tanks water volume, including sump.

I started to see algae deminism within a few days and completely gone within a week.

Combine this with a different feeding regiment and your tank looks like the ones in the magazines.

The process is biological, not chemical, something I liked too.

After a long battle to reduce organic waste that was feeding algae blooms of all sorts on my reef aquarium I found this amazing product, within days my nitrates came down to 0 ppm! Algae is gone now and my corals are looking simply beautiful. The product should me used in conjunction with Reef Energy A and Reef Energy B to provide nourishment for your corals and a good efficient skimmer. In my case I started with the recommended dose but since then I have come down to 1/4 and still I think it's more than enough. My advice is to start slow, 1/4 for a week and then measure your nitrates , adjust your dose accordingly in small weekly increments, reefs don't react nicely to sudden changes!
