The API Nitra-Zorb packets work great. I have a 7 year old red eared slider. It is very difficult to keep the water clean. I recently purchased the API Nexx Filter system. After using the Nitra-Zorb packet, the water is crystal clear a month and half after changing the packets. I am very pleased.
I use these whenever my fish tank levels get out of whack. They work perfectly. If you do not have the API canister filter, you can still use this product with some altercations. These come as square filters but you can cut out a square and place it behind a filter in a traditional hanging tank filter.
