Floramax T8 Lamp

Aqueon Aqueon 00455 18-Inch Floramax T8 Fluorescent Lamp, 18-WattI got the Aqueon 00455 18-Inch Floramax T8 Fluorescent Lamp, 15-Watt and it works great. It's interesting because with this bulb the tank seems darker as compared to the 8000K full spectrum, but that is because the Floramax emphasizes the reds and blues which the plants need.

I dont know why its not working, i put it in right and everything, i wanted to just return it but i didnt know how, i spent $16 dollars on it and i would really like my money back..

Thanks,

Justin DiFrancesco

Just thought I'd write a review for this product. I bought it at the local PetSmart but I'm a frequent shopper here on Amazon. I have had no problems with my bulb. It's not pink to me and not as bright as the Daylight one (which I thought was too bright). I do have plants and so far everything is fine. I've had it for two months in a 6.6 gallon aquarium with a beautiful betta and otocinclus. I think lighting for an aquarium must be a very personal thing.

I just put in the light and there is a VERY pink glow, but it is so much darker than my full spectrum light. I can barely see my fish! I haven't had it in long enough to know what affect it will have on the plants. Maybe they will love it, but I certainly don't enjoy looking at the aquarium as much.

Tried this product in several different fixtures and it never worked like others I have ordered. Seems the once I looked at the markings on the tube it indicates that it is 120 VAC and not the 12 VDC that I need. So unfortunately I have returned it.
