We've had this cage for at least six years when Mrs. Spudman caught the escaped parakeet in the backyard. It has a drawer that pulls out for cleaning, but I never liked using it. Instead I'd just pull up the cage from the base and set it aside. The parakeets only flew out once in all those years.Now the base has developed cracks at each end, and I've just orderd a new cage from Amazon.
This cage served us well. It has easy access from the top or from the vertically sliding doors. It came with plenty of perches, and we supplemented them with sticks from outside. Our keets love climbing on those sticks from one end of the cage to the other.
One complaint we've always had about this cage is that it doesn't keep all the seed and feathers within. There's always a mess around the cage spreading out several feet. We tried a cage skirt once, but it didn't work that well. We're hoping the new Vision cage with the clear, high base will do a better job keeping seed and feathers within.
