The tank was really cute in the beginning but over time Ariel's paint started bubbling and peeling off.
For some reason, algae LOVES Ariel and it is so hard to clean the algae out of the nooks and crannies not to mention avoid further damage to the paint.
We dressed the tank up for our beta with 2 additional beta-size plants.

This is a lovely 2 gallon aquarium. I have two golden fantails swimming around in mine. There are two things that I don't like about this aquarium. One is that the LED lights went out after only a few days of having it. I didn't even have it a week. Also, you can only fill the tank up so far because it leaks out the back, which is really frustrating for trying to make sure that the filter can stir up the water enough. I know people were saying that they couldn't keep the tank clean, but if you get the right additive then you won't need to change the water but once or twice a year. The additive I got is called Jungle Start Right. Follow the directions on how much to add and ONLY add it when the water is dirty. Also, only feeding the fish once a day really helps keep the water clean too. I wouldn't suggest putting more than two fish in this tank unless you get really tiny ones because it is small and you don't want your fish crammed in together.Read Best Reviews of Tetra 29135 Little Mermaid Aquarium Cube, 1.5 Gallons Here
an adorable first aquarium for a little girl. It doesn't come with everything in the picture though. No plant or pebbles.Want Tetra 29135 Little Mermaid Aquarium Cube, 1.5 Gallons Discount?
My 6-year old daughter received this for her birthday with a betta fish. The Ariel statue is surprisingly nice and the aquarium looks awesome when all done up. We put in blue rocks and some of those acrylic fish jewels along with a couple of silk plants. We also added a heater to keep the water around 78 degrees. The filter is already in the garbage. Although we don't need it for the one betta that we are keeping in the tank, since we are vacuuming the gravel and doing water changes often, I did set up the filter, thinking it would be a good thing. The motor of the "WHISPER" filter vibrated so much we couldn't stand to be in the same room with it.
