This filter is perfect for a Betta. George "the office fish" lives in a 5 gallon tank, and this filter works perfectly for keeping his house clean, without causing a current that he would have to swim against. The tank came with a "nano" filter that worked fine, but stressed out the fish because he was always working to stay put.This type of filter is a little more work at cleaning time, but it seems to actually work much better than the power filter ever did.
