Via Aqua is imported by a company called Commodity Axis, and is run by Kevin Shiotani. He doesn't care about the quality of his products, imports cheap junk, sells it, then hopes the equipment breaks down so that you have to buy it again. When I offered to send him a defective pump and a defective heater so that he could study the problem, he completely ignored the offer. This guy doesn't care about quality, he only wants your money.
Today the water was cold, and as I reached in toward the heater my fingers tingled for a second, and then it stopped. I removed the heater from its location and saw a massive amount of deep corrosion. As I turned it over to inspect it, I was fully electrocuted with house current (not my first time). I just thank my stars that it was me, and not my iguana who certainly wouldn't have survived.
Electrocution aside, six months in good tap water shouldn't corrode the heater as badly as mine is.

I'm using it in a 55-gallon saltwater bowfront tank. Does the job in short order. Very responsive to slight changes in water temperature .. topping off the tank with a gallon of fresh water triggers the heater immediately. This heater uses a probe with a suction cup, so make sure you have a clean, out of view place to attach the probe.
