Lee's Squeeze Bulb Siphon Starter

Lee's Squeeze Bulb Siphon StarterI use this for aquarium water changes with my Python brand gravel hose, so I don't have to "mouth start" the siphon anymore. I don't drain my used aquarium water into the sink as you can do with the Python hose (which would negate the need to manually start the siphon). I let my dirty water drain outside on the grass(freshwater). Anyway, this little thing gets the siphon going. Be sure you have it attached the right way; if it is on the hose facing the wrong way, it won't work. It comes with some adapters for other hose sizes. Instructions are just on the box, so not much help as far as that goes. I did not cut the hose, as the instructions mention. I just use it on the thread-end of my hose and it works fine that way. It takes a few pumps, and then it starts.

Been putting off getting one of these for a while since I'm renovating my fish room but I'm really glad I did. Got to play with it last night since I needed to do a water change and talk about easy; 2 squeezes and water is flowing.

Make sure you soften your hose ends in hot water first so that it is easy to slide them over the ports and PAY ATTENTION to direction of water flow on the Squeeze Bulb water will only flow ONE way.

Definitely worth getting!

Item is made of cheap plastic and works decently. Not sure about its longevity because when it is used it likes to stay in the squeezed position from time to time. We will see.

I had a supposed "self-starting" siphon -but it took more time to start the thing than actually siphoning the tank. Ordered this squeeze bulb, cut the tubing, and installed the squeeze bulb in about 2 minutes. One squeeze later, water is flowing, and the (very small) tank is clean in 5 minutes.

Bulb is sized for a big siphon, but it comes with adapters for the smaller tube used with my small siphon. Use the warm water trick to get soften the tubing, slide it onto the bulb, and it is good to go with no leaks. Perfecto!

Works really good. A little awkward, make sure to have enough tube, but works great! Sure beat any other way to siphon!
