This car seat for our 2 Yorkies is one of the best purchases we've made for them. I feel confident that when used with the special car harnesses, that they would be safely contained if we ever had to come to a sudden stop. The car harness is key because the anchor point is low on the back as opposed to being higher up near their shoulder blades. They get to sit up and see out the windows or take a nap on the plush pillow top pad. My larger yorkie (12lbs) loves to rest his head off the edge. My little one (4lbs) used to have anxiety when riding in the car-he would start panting like crazy-now, when he's in the car seat, he is calm and usually just lays down to relax :) There is plenty of room for the 2 dogs to sprawl out. We would even have room for maybe a 3rd someday! That is why we purchased the large one, so we would have some room to grow. It does take up one entire seat plus the middle seat, so keep that in mind when choosing a size. We have a small suv, so that wasn't a problem for us at all.

There is also a small drawer under the flap in the front. Enough to keep some treats, food, bags etc. I also purchased the wire feeder that has two compartments with lids or food and water. (I mainly use it for water only, as my dogs will not eat in the car) It is very well made. It's like a mini couch, but just not as heavy. Sometimes, when we are at hotels, we will bring the seat in and they use it as a couch too.

even though he's not that fond of it. I thought it would fit in the front passenger seat but it's too wide so he has to be in the back seat. He has separation anxiety I guess! But love the seat, and got it for a great price here on Amazon

I have a dog that has anxiety issues and traveling in the car has always involved vomit and pee. This car seat allows him to see me while sitting next to his brother and see where we are going. He is secure and safe. He still doesn't like getting in the car, but he lays down on the bed and shows no signs of panic. It has been wonderful!

Picked this up for a planned 2 week car trip. It was just what we wanted. Our 16 pound Yorkshire/Westie mix took to it right away. I feel good knowing that he is secure and safe. The seat belt wraps aroound the back of the bed and is secure. The provided leash/cable loops over seatbelt and you can then hook to your dogs harness. We got the large and it gives him a lot of room, plenty of space for him to move about and get comfortable. It also became his bed inside the hotel rooms. When we got home from the trip and had the bed in our apartment he actually jumped into it and took a nap.
