Elite Sponge Filter

It's a bit noisy, but it is small enough to use in a 10G tank. The filter turned from white to ... greenish in about 5 days after seeding with a squeeze of media from my large tank. The quarantine fish that were hardy enough to survive the transfer seemed to be getting enough oxygen and did not appear to be getting ammonia poisoning.

I bought several items of this description to compare them, this was the second one i used.

I think it could be improved if it allowed an airstone to make finer bubbles (reducing noise) but it works as advertised and the price was decent.

Just a note: small, family run aquarist shops carry sponge filters of various sorts... big box stores rarely carry them.

If you're in the boonies, buy on amazon; otherwise visit your local small, non-chain store.

Price is right. Doesn't mount very well and is noisy it the tank. Does the job of cleaning the water as it should.For the price it is a good buy
