36" Fluorescent Strip Light in Black
Buy 36" Fluorescent Strip Light in Black Now
I ordered this because I needed a 36" light for my 36" tank. I was bummed that the bulb was only 24" but I didnt want to pay $80 or more for one with a 36" bulb. Now that I have the light Im REALLY bummed because when I put it on my 36" tank it was to short.I checked it with a tape measure and the fixture (plastic housing)is 34&3/4" long. A full 1&1/4" less than what I need and what its advertised as.So now I have to modify a brand new light that cost me just under $40 (with shipping)in order to use it the way I need to. If your looking for a 36" light that NEEDS to be 36" this isnt the one that you want.UPDATE;I just recieved an email from OZBO the merchant that sold me this light. They offered to reimburse me for the light including shipping costs.I'm both surprised and impressed, in my experience the customer pays the shipping.I'm keeping the light its still less expensive than the others I looked at and I can make a couple of brackets to hold it the way I want to. With this type of customer service I would buy from OZBO again!

The price was right on this light strip! Please note that the bulb is only 24" but it gives off more than enough light. The plastic housing is 36" the light itself is 24" bulb. Deceptive IMO and I will think twice before buying Aqueon products in the future.Wednesday, July 30, 2014
Medicated Food For Aquarium Fish - 14 Oz
Fortunately, I was able to buy some here, and it has saved all but one of my little loaches (the poor little guy was just too far gone). Now they are thriving, thanks to this excellent product. I'm just glad that I was still able to get some before it was all gone.
Use the feeding schedule on the package, but for best results mash the food into a powder and mix it with small amounts of other foods that your fish are already accustomed to, and shut off all filtration before adding the food mix to the tank and for a while after feeding (1/2 hour is usually sufficient). After receiving an empty box,I am so disappointed, however, after contacting their customer service, they corrected the mistake through 2 day air ship, Now I am able to treat the Koi fish.
* Now is one month after I feeding the koi fish with this medicine and most of them are get back to normal. I am happy with the product and would recommend it.

Sturdy tool. Not afraid to put pressure to scrape off the algae. I like to use the felt blade, but usually end up using the plastic one since I can't get to cleaning that often. If I'm really delinquent or have the tough green spot, I use the metal blade. I;m gonna notch the plastic blade so that its easier to do the corners without touching the silicone.Be careful when trying to remove the blades. They are noy easy to deal with. Also the metal blade is really soft. it bends a lot not only by the regular use, but when i have it stored somewhere. After the metal blade recieved a tiny bump, it doesnt clean well. I know that this happens because of the materials and THATS whats supposed to be (soft) but i have used a similar one from another brand and is a way more resistand than this.We have multiple tanks and needed one for our small tank to get the glass really clean. This tool does the job and it is nice to know I can get replacements going forward.Tuesday, May 27, 2014
Flourite Black Sand, 7 kg / 15.4 lbs
Beware, though the product directions are very misleading. My tank was a cloudy mess after adding this, and a quick google search of this product showed me my folly. This is by the far the dustiest of sand substrates out there for aquariums.
I took the advice of said website, I put my entire bag in a pillowcase, ran the hose through it for about 30 minutes until the water was clear, and now it looks great.
If you live in a small apartment or don't have access to a workspace, beware this can get messy, id select a different substrate.BEWARE -The directions to not directly tell you wash it! It says something along the lines of... you "may" wash it, but don't need to, and that you may experience cloudiness that will go away in 2 -12 hours.
Well, I rinsed it in a bucket before putting it in my tank figured a little rinse should be enough IT WASN'T!!
If you buy this, RINSE IT OUT VERY VERY WELL or your water will be CLOUDY FOR DAYS, IF NOT WEEKS!
I will probably never use this stuff again... I have also used Eco-Complete and highly prefer it over Seachem's product.

As with any flourite product, these are dusty. You can do anything from washing them in a bucket (really just filling and refilling the bucket until no cloud appears) or putting the sand into an old pillow case and spraying it with a house until none of it 'leaks'. The manufacturer claims that you don't need to wash their products, but I've only found this to be the case when burying the product under another substrate. This stuff is great in the aquarium. It feels like black sand, but has all the benefits of a flourite substrate. My plants are vibrant and healthy. I also dose root-tab fertilization into the flourite. I haven't had any algae outbreaks (which happens if the substrate doesn't retain the fertilizers).
The sand looks really great and is far better than 'regular' sand for plants. I plan to use it all my new tanks.

I've only had this in my tank for a few days so I can't vouch for its effect on my plants. But it looks really nice. :)After reading about how to keep the cloudiness to a minimum I decided not to rinse the substrate. Instead, I put it straight into the aquarium, planted, then filled the tank VERY slowly, through an airline tube until about halfway up, making sure the water flowed ONLY onto a small plate. After about halfway I poured the water slowly from a cup onto the plate. By the time the tank was filled there was virtually NO cloudiness and a few days later the tank is crystal clear.
It was kind of anti-climactic, actually, after hearing so much about how cloudy this would be. I was prepared for the tank to look like utter crap for over a week but that just wasn't my experience at all.
Now, this was only a 6.6 gallon Petco bookshelf aquarium and I only used less than 1/3 of the bag. Maybe this is a bigger problem with bigger tanks with larger filters that create more turbulance? Maybe it's difficult to keep up the painstakingly slow pace of filling needed to prevent the cloudiness in big tanks? If anybody knows I'd be thrilled to hear about it. Please comment if you do. :)

This stuff is fantastic!I ordered this sand recently to redo the substrate in my 40g breeder. After rinsing each bag for about 5 minutes through a pillow case as was recommended by other reviewers, I dumped 3 bags into a 5 gallon bucket and let it sit for about an hour. I then used a homemade funnel for sand application in a full tank(2 foot long piece of 2" diameter PVC piping with a 2"-4" coupler on top to give it a nice sized opening). By using this funnel after properly rinsing the sand, it allows you to add the sand with very minimal clouding. (Sidenote: TURN OFF YOUR FILTER WHEN YOU ADD THE SAND AND LEAVE IT OFF FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AFTER ADDING THE SAND!!!!!)
My tank was clear again within 8-10 hours (went to bed and was crystal clear water when I woke up) and all of my fish were still looking very happy. Plants are doing much better in this substrate and my eels no longer knock them out of the ground when they go burrowing and it is bringing out colors in my fish I never knew they had. This is expensive sand but worth every penny!
P.S. After calling SeaChem, they assured me that this Flourite Black Sand is both burrower safe and soft belly safe which was a big concern for me and I know it will be for many others out there. So far this seems to be holding true and my eels and kuhli loaches are loving digging around in it.

Like many other reviewers have commented, this is not one glass topit comes in two pieces, but fits the 72 gallon bowfront perfectly, and it's better that it comes in two piecesone side can have complete coverage, while the other side can leave room for air tubing/filters. Unfortunately, like a couple of other reviewers on here, I had the bad experience of shoddy packagingwhen it arrived, all of the 'padding' in the package was on one side. Upon opening the package I discovered one of the sides (the opposite side of the one with all the padding, so clearly that padding helps) was shattered. This is a very disconcerting thing when you spend this much money on a product (poor college student here, so this is a big deal for me). That said, the side that was not shattered fit perfectly and looked quite good. It's because, excluding shoddy packaging, it's a good product, on top of the fact that returning things to amazon is about the easiest thing in the world (I didn't even have to leave my apartmentjust repacked the top in the original packaging, clicked the option for amazon to contact UPS, and printed the return labelnext day UPS shows up, and day after that I had my refund in my accounttwo days total, it was kind of amazing). So the ease of return, along w/the knowledge that it is a good product, led me to the 3 star review. I have gone ahead and tried re-ordering it, hoping for better results this time. I will update w/the condition of the second package. Really, if you are looking for a glass top for your aquarium, if you order directly through amazon they are so good w/returns that the only reason not to give it a try (in my book) is if you are in urgent need of a top right awayif you have time, give it a chance, returns are super easy and free.Read Best Reviews of All Glass Aquarium AAG29607 Versa Top, 72bf Here
The first one shipped was undeliverable, so without even requesting they immediately shipped a replacement. Replacement, amazingly, arrived intact. I have never, ever seen worse packaging and this is why the first one got damaged. Whoever packed it put the box containing the lid on the bottom of a huge box and loosely filled it with yards of crumpled paper. The box was crushed when delivered and I took photos of it before opening, fearing the worst, but somehow it survived intact. The lid fits my 72 gallon bow front tank perfectly....it is actually four pieces of glass (they do not include or ship the center support) and is an ideal replacement. For the price I should have purchased this long ago.A BIT PRICEY, BUT FITS MY 72 GALLON BOWFRONT PERFECTLY. GOOD, STRONG GLASS. COMES IN 2 PEICES FOR A PERFECT FIT. VERY HAPPY!

Elite Sponge Filter
I bought several items of this description to compare them, this was the second one i used.
I think it could be improved if it allowed an airstone to make finer bubbles (reducing noise) but it works as advertised and the price was decent.
Just a note: small, family run aquarist shops carry sponge filters of various sorts... big box stores rarely carry them.
If you're in the boonies, buy on amazon; otherwise visit your local small, non-chain store.Price is right. Doesn't mount very well and is noisy it the tank. Does the job of cleaning the water as it should. For the price it is a good buyThis little filter is great for my Betta. I run it for an hour or two and it keeps his tank nice and clean.

Fluval Polyresin Aquarium Ornament - Rock Outcrop
My ghost shrimp like to climb up on it and use the ornament for a vantage point in the aquarium.
I recommend it for anyone looking for a realistic outcrop formation.love the looks of this rock, very solid and made well. Soaked in water before using it in tank. no problems with it or fish once it was in my tank. I bought two of these and one larger one so I could make different looks to the tank by flipping it around and grouping it differently.

This piece of wood is smaller than you might realize by looking at the picture, however it is a nice looking piece of drift wood. My husband bought it for our children's little 10 gallon tank and it would be the right size. Unfortunately, this wood has yet to make into our tank. After we received it in the mail it was sitting on the counter prior to being put in the fish tank. I noticed it had a sticker on the wood so I read what it said as I removed it. The sticker stated that this wood was the ideal addition to home aquariums however due to some of the unique properties of the wood it would need to be soaked for "a few days" to allow the color to leach out. It stated that if you do not do this your fish tank water might be discolored. I was relieved that I read the sticker prior to my husband tossing it into the tank. I pulled out a large salad bowl, filled it with water and dropped the wood in. I was shocked the next morning to find the wood caused the water to turn the color of tea. I thought that was probably all the color that was going to leach out but just in case I emptied the bowl out and filled it with fresh water. After a week of changing the water every day I was beginning to think that the unique properties of this wood were such that it would cause my fish to be obscured. After a month the wood is still leaching color, at this point it is no longer a dark tea color however it is still turning the water a color I do not wish for my fish tank to be.Beware when purchasing this product. If you have a lot of time and do not mind the wait this wood looks very nice. For those of you who have children or husbands who want instant gratification this product is not for you.

Sandi doesn't like catnip so this was no attraction what crinkle? He hasn't looked at it at all other than once carting it through to the bedroom and leaving it beside my slippers. With other toys that he's ignored at first he's come around after a week or so and plays with them -sometimes sneakily but not this one. Maybe got squashed in transit as package to Australia was squashed. Wouldn't recommend it for fussy animal unless it adored catnip.Want KONG Naturals Crinkle Butterflies Catnip Toy, Colors Vary, 2-Pack Discount?

EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W
Buy EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W Now
I have a 200 watt heater in my 75 gal and kept my water temperature constant during the winter...I just got a 100 gal and hopefully it will perform the same without any issue..Eheim heater I believe is the best heater for your pocket and tank! I definitely recommend this and look for no other heater in the market...you will not be disappointed!Read Best Reviews of EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W Here
I purchased the heater 6 Months ago and it stopped working. The heater is in a 55 Gallon aquarium. Due to the size of the aquarium and the size of the heater I expected the heater to last much longer. The heater worked great for the first 6 months temp was right on point. never changed more than .5 degrees. I will not purchase this heater again.Want EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W Discount?
I ordered this heater to replace a Elite Submersible Preset Heater, 300-Watt that my catfish had broken in a fish free for all freak-out. I have used EHEIM in the past and they have never disappointed me (though I have been confused by them) so I decided to try something new. I was surprised when the specifications said a single EHEIM 300W heater could heat tanks over 100 gallons, but I like the concept of running only one unit. When I received a shipping box that was about 4 feet long, the potential abilities of the heater started to make sense.I was expecting a heater of similar dimensions to almost every 300W heater I have ever owned. EHEIM was not even in the same park. The EHEIM 300W heater is 22" in overall length, with very sturdy, heavy glass and has a thick industrial feel to the power cord. I have found the temperature setting to be the most reliable and accurate I have ever used, and I have used a lot of heaters. The added length has increased the surface area of the heating element and I have found that, so far, one EHEIM 300W unit is efficient enough to heat my 150 gallon tank on its own without it running constantly. I also appreciate that there is no noise associated with the unit switching on or off. My tank temp is very stable and I have noticed zero fluctuation of internal temperature regardless of surrounding room temperature.
Let me remind you again, this heater is long. I own a a tank that is 30" tall so placement of the unit is not a problem, but I can see how placement could be difficult for anyone who has a 24" or shorter tank height. Though you could solve this issue by just tilting the heater or placing it horizontally, but in some situations I could see how the heaters size might be a problem.
I was pleasantly surprised by the overall performance of the EHEIM 300W heater. It isn't the perfect heater, but I have been very pleased with it and unless something unusual happens, I will continue to rely on it for my heating needs.
Pros: Price, sturdy build, greater surface area, almost perfect temp setting, stable heating, quiet
Cons: Much longer length than other heaters

Lee's Triple-Flow Corner Filter, Large
On the way home, I got to thinking about my little aging air pump, so I stopped at Walmart and picked up a more powerful Tetra Whisper Air Pump with dual air outlets for about $20. Less than an hour after I got home, both filters were up and running. Like some of the other reviewers stated, the quality of the plastic is disappointing...I'm giving this item a 4 star rating (rather than 5 stars) because of this fact. The unit seems quite fragile and I imagine it wouldn't take much to break it. However, I'm already liking these filters. I like the fact that they are clear, enabling you to see them at work. When I got up the next morning (about 12 hours after installation) I could see a noticeable difference in the water clarity.
For me, the true test will be how they perform over time. But for now, I'm impressed. This filter does the job as expected. I am not so found of the attachable base on the bottom. It make the filter sit crooked in my gravel. I also would change the air tube. I like using an aeration stone, added oxygen in tank, but the little tabs that hold the tubing in place are fragile. The sloping lid makes it hard to keep the poly filter material in place while placing the filter into the tank. Otherwise, this is the kind of filter I was looking for to place in my 10 gallon tank.

I received it today. The boxes were perfect / no damage. I open the box and the item is broken into pieces. No instructions whatsoever. I didnt know they could make plastic so thin and cheap. Corner box filter. No gimmicks you get what you see in the pictures. If you need a box filter this comes with the air stone and everything you need to set it up.works well, very economical. After replacing my third h.o.b. filter in the last 8 mos. I wanted something reliable. I had to run a small power head to help with flow and thwart algae growth that had increased due to the poor hob filter performance.Friday, August 23, 2013
Universal Rocks 48-Inch by 20-Inch Rocky Flexible Aquarium Background
So, here's some installation instructions based on real-life use:
#1get some aquarium grade silicone. I don't know how much you're going to need, but guessing by how rippled/pitted the backing is, my guess would be: a lot. I'm also going to need silicone to plug up some holesmine had about 6 pea-sized holes in it, and I don't want my guppies swimming through them and getting trapped behind the background. Speaking of which-
#2don't buy fish until this thing is installed. If you're thinking of installing it in a tank full of water, I hope you have waterproof flooring because it's gonna be messy. Every time I try to push the background back up against the back of the tank, all the water behind rubber sheet takes the path of least resistanceup, out, and onto the floor. Then, the background falls off the edge again as soon as I let go of it. Right now, it's sitting in a slouched mess in my tank as I try to find 55 gallons worth of clean buckets to-
#3drain the tank. You're going to need to take the tank down, empty the decorations and gravel, thoroughly dry it, and lay it on it's back. I haven't gotten this far yet, but I anticipate trouble. My lid had a bar down the middle, so I will need to bend the background to get it laying in the tank, meaning the silicone will need to go between the background and the glass after the background is already in the tank. Then weight the background down so it doesn't move, wait 48 hours for the silicone to cure, rinse the whole thing out (somehow..... the tank is wider than my shower and it's 20 degrees outside.) Not sure where I'm going to put the fish in the meantime, but I'm sure I'll think of something. Gotta say, tearing down, storing, and rebuilding an entire 55 gallon tank is not what I had in mind when I read that it was "easy to install."
In short, if you're sitting in your house with a dry, empty tank, wondering if this would be a good accessory, go for it. It looks pretty good for what it is. If you're looking for a nice background for a tank that already has water and/or fish, I'd give this one a pass.
Edit: altered my review up from two to four stars because, after I drained the tank, filled a spare 10 gallon for the fish, cut the background to shape, siliconed it in place, waited two days for the silicone to cure, and refilled the tank, it looks *spectacular.* It looks like real stone and I'm really happy with it. It's a very hard install, though.I do recommending using GE silicon 1 or 2 to adhere it to the tank, the clips are only good for probably in a reptile enclosure. It does look good in my 75 gallon aquarium. When I got it I used some large sheers or tin cutters to trim it, then placed it in tank, and on the outside glass I circled where it made contact with the glass so I knew where to put the silicon along with around the edges.

This background was shipped and delivered in great time, received before expected. It came in a humungous box that was quite humerous, but it did protect the background and there were no issues upon arrival. The background was received as described and looks very cool. Got this with the assumption that there would be magnets to attach this to the glass to keep it from moving. It came with only a few little plastic clips which were basically a section of plastic tubing with a slit in it. The background looks great if you can keep it secure. I use driftwood and some rocks to try to keep it pressed up against the back wall of the tank. This would be great if you wanted to silicone it to the tank glass.Want Universal Rocks 48-Inch by 20-Inch Rocky Flexible Aquarium Background Discount?
Arrived in record time! Ordered it on a Tuesday, received it on Thursday. Came well packaged and as shown in the advertisement. I had been debating buying one of these for a looong time. I had looked at every company that makes them, DIY versions and pretty much every possible route to go for my 75gal. Universal Rocks stood out for me. They are well made, durable and easy to install. The clips provided may seem low-tech, but the idea is to have this panel rest against the back wall, under the lip of the aquarium. I recommend going to Universal Rock's site as they have a whole section on using the clips, installing and placement. I did this while doing a normal H2O change only I completely emptied the tank of decorations and plants. Gravel vac'd thoroughly and installed with my stock of 20 cichlids still in the tank. Scrubbed it completely first and put it in. Sank right out of the box and bent around the center brace with total ease. At first it was approximately 1/4" too tall for the tank. I removed it and using kitchen sheers (very tough and tedious and I would recommend tin snips for the job) I trimmed the bottom of the background. Fits like a glove! Clips went in place no problem and looks awesome! I would not hesitate to purchase anything with Universal Rock's name on it. I contacted them directly with several questions and received excellent, quick responses every time. If you have a particular question that is holding you back from purchasing, ask them and they will resolve any doubts. This really makes me proud of my tank. Looks awesome, is durable and will make any tank a showpiece. Will definitely be purchasing another for my other 55gal tank as well. 100% SATISFIED!!!!
