T5 HO Fluorescent Lamp Colormax

Coralife Energy Savers ACL80417 Colormax T5ho Bulb 36-Inch 39wI have this bulb in front and a 6700k bulb in back to make my plants grow. My tank is high, like 22". When the fish swim within the top 12" to 16", this bulb makes their colors look soooo much deeper and richer. Power blue and dwarf gouramis look irradescent. Cherry shrimp glow bright red and red wag platties and swordtails have deep oranges. The powder blue gouramis look kinda lame in petsmart under the normal lights and I was kicking myself on the way home for buying it, but once it swam near the colormax bulb, I was glad I got him. One of my favorite fish now.

I was pretty skeptical that a bulb could make much difference to the colors of fish. I figured it was just another one of those things they market to get more money out of you, but this thing actually is worth the money.

I have had it 6 months now, on for 9 hrs a day and it is still working fine. (Knock on wood)

Zilla Jungle Mix

Zilla Jungle Mix, 24-QuartI'm usually wary of substrate products, and I've used this one for years, trying others occasionally, but always buying this again. It is a good blend: I've never had it sprout mold or fungus, and it doesn't seem to cause allergies or irritations when used with a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians. Probably most important, I've never had an impaction (digestive blockage) problem with any animal using this stuff. It seems to pass through easily if eaten. The Jungle Mix also absorbs and holds water but not to the point that it becomes muddy for days, which is a problem I've had with some other substrates. One complaint is that there are usually some sharp pieces of bark or whatever in the mix, so I have to go through it and remove it sometimes to keep the critters from poking themselves.

I use it for my hermit crabs I mix it with the pine bark bedding and they dig to china :) It stays moist for a long time i spray it once a day :)

Coralife 05486 50/50 Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 65-Watt

Coralife 05486 50/50 Straight Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 65-WattWhen you first plug this bulb in and turn on the fixture, it will make the colors in your tank "pop," from fish to corals. Sadly, that doesn't last long, and within a couple of months it's not much better than any standard fluorescent bulb. (I really noticed the difference when I replaced one of the two bulbs on my fixture, and saw the radical difference in light intensity and hue between the new and old.)

I think for my next fixture, I'll be looking at LEDs...

Tubes give off sufficient light and duration. Only slightly cheaper than purchasing at aquarium store. In any case, these tubes are way over priced and I'd looks to see if there is not a better and cheaper technology!

Though it's the right replacement for my lighting set up, it keeps on flickering when turned on. I returned it and still waiting for my refund.

Fish Bubbles - Wall Hanging Fish Tank - 3.6L

Fish Bubbles - Wall Hanging Fish Tank - 3.6LWaste off money, i brought 5 of them should have brought one and see how it goes.

But with water fish rocks etc... the hooks thingy were it hangs cracks and you guess it water fish rocks all over the place and crying screaming kids, very upset about there fish..

Thank goodness we were home and was able to save fish.

All 5 tanks cracked the same way.

WASTE OF MONEY!

I love this fishbowl and I get more compliments on it than any other decoration in my house. We've had our Beta fish in for over 6 months now and it seems pretty happy in it's home too. I love decorating it for holidays by putting fancy paper behind it and changing the rock color. I also put a lighted christmas wreath around it during the Chrismas and it was so beautiful! It also nice that young little hands can't reach into it and other pets don't even notice it all. A must have if you like fish!!

I love these bubbles...but not for housing fish. Instead, I purchased a couple of these to hold fruit in my kitchen. I live in a small condo, and live with someone who is an avid juicer and smoothie creator. I mounted these on the wall and they hold a surprising amount of fruit! Way better than cluttering up counter space in a small living space. Love them!

Bought 2 pcs and hung them a feet apart. Guests liked it. Betta fish each tank/bubble but shld also work with other fish. With colored pebbles (maybe < 2 cups each tank), a live aquatic plant, and a bulb of water lily growing it looks nice! I used a hook (e.g Hercules hook ) and had no prob holding it with a water < gallon. I only feed my fish 2-3x/wk with few food flakes so i just change the water every ten days. So don't over feed your fish as this will make the water dirty thus frequent cleaning is required.

The tank itself is small, I just don't think $17 is worth the plastic half bowl you get. I mean the idea is definitely cool, which is probably all that your paying for. The tank itself is cheap.

Marina Cool Goldfish Kit

Marina Cool Goldfish Kit, Purple, Medium/2.65-GallonTHIS kit come with everything but heater and light .my betta loves it .it big enough to add a nice size ornament .filter a bit strong but for 18.00 dollars can,t complain .i have yet to find a better deal on a one gallon for my other betta so i just order 1 more for her .wouldnt put gold fish in but perfect for my betta,s

Well, I purchased this product for my son about a month ago. THIS WAS THE BEST DEAL ON AMAZON. For those stating that this is too small, THIS IS A STARTER KIT!!!!! So if you just got a goldfish keep him in here until you can upgrade, like my son and I did. This was one of the best deals I ever got. Now we keep our goldfish who is currently 4 inches in a 10 gallon tank. Also, if you can buy a heater, this is great for keeping to small tropical fish like platties or guppies. We now keep two guppies in here. REMEMBER every Inch of fish means one gallon of water, so after your fish is about 2.5 inches, its time to upgrade. The filter is VERY strong. Assembly is quite easy if you READ once agian READ NOT SKIM through the instructions. I assembled everything in about 3 min. unlike the reviewers below. This Starter kit contains gravel(rock) one plant, gold fish food, water conditioners( Hagen Nutrafin Aqua+ which improves tap water and removes metals and chlorine, protects scales and fins, and has an anti stress formula, and Nutrafin Cycle, which IMMEDIATLEY establishes a safe enviorment and contains ammonia and a nitrate elimination formula, both of these are VERY beneficial for your fish), a POWERFUL Hagen filter, and of course, the 2.65 gallon tank. Overall this product is a bang for your buck and you will NOT regret purchasing this item.

We bought this tank at Petsmart for about $23. Cheap. But it brought so much heartache to our family. I wish I had read all the reviews, maybe with modifications I could have saved my daughter's Black Molly. The 2 guppies that we first got were killed by the filter within 48 hours. Their beautiful tail got caught in by the filter. Molly (the black Molly) was smarter and quickly figured out that one should not get close to the front if the filter. But 12 days later she died of stress. I could not understand why as we kept water at perfect conditions, water changes every 2 days, a little salt, heater to keep temp constant, etc. I mean, I put a LOT of work in keeping that fish alive because I did not want to break my child's heart after the guppy fiasco. Well, after reading the review about the constant whirlpool, it ALL makes sense! This poor fish would hide inside this castle decor or hover right at the top of the water at the side of the filter, avoiding at all costs the larger front area of the tank. I thought she was skiddish. Now I see she was trying to survive the whirlpool. But I guess eventually she succumbed to exhaustion and stress. We found her dead this morning.

We will try the sock, sponge & change position of the filter for the new Molly, Cole. We can't put anything bigger in her bedroom. But I extremely regret having gone for this kit. :(

My wife purchased this aquarium, and it didn't take long to see that it was a death trap if you intend to have anything but one one or two larger fish (smaller fish will struggle with the current created by the large filter).

Some people here are shutting the filter off at night, but doing that will kill your fish unless you are doing very frequent water changes to make up for it. Defeats the purpose of the filter and your aquarium won't cycle right anyway.

I made some alterations to help make the aquarium a short term solution until we were ready to upgrade (we purchased a petco bookshelf aquarium which is far superior for not much more money).

First off, I would NOT recommend placing the filter in the center of the tank, as the manufacturer recommends. This pretty much makes the entire tank a whirlpool, which will kill smaller fish like neon tetras and guppies who are not full grown. Instead, place the filter over on the far side of the tank so your fish can get away from the suction current and rest. High stress environments usually mean a shorter life for your fish.

Moving the filter to the side of the tank will create a problem. You won't be able to close the lid properly. To solve this, I drilled a hole into the lid's side trim and widened the hole with a pair of needle nose pliers. You need to practice putting the filter into place first so you can estimate where to notch out the hole. This will allow the filter hang bracket to function normally while allowing you to shut the lid completely. Run the filter's power cord through the space just to the left or right of the hood hinges.

You can also place a clean toddler's sock over the bottom of the filter to help mitigate the suction power of the filter. It's not the best solution in the world, but far better than turning the filter off completely for any length of time.

Lastly, I purchased a lamp cord, a socket and a 4 watt light bulb at the hardware store for $7. The raised hood of the aquarium provides plenty of room to install a light and the lid has holes in it to run the wires through.

I hope this helps a few people until they are able to upgrade.

For those considering a better aquarium for just a few dollars more, I would highly recommend a Petco 6.6 gallon bookshelf aquarium. You can find those here on Amazon for $40. It's not much more money and will give your fish more than twice the space, fewer hassles and an environment that is far less stressful to your fish.

I purchased this tank for my daughter for her fifth birthday. I am happy with the construction of it, as well as the child-accessible feed-opening in the lid. The size is just right for a little kid, and the colors and decorations are lovely. That being said, it IS a starter tank, and is probably not actually a very good choice for gold fish, as they grow so large. The tank does not come with a heater or a lighting system (which can be purchased separately), so the best choice of fish is a Betta. I understand that most people say that Bettas need a minimum of five-gallons of water, but that hasn't been my experience with any Betta I have ever owned, and our fish is presently quite happy swimming about his 2.65 Gallon bachelor pad. Overall, it's a decent product for the price.

Sicce Green Reset 25 Pressurized Pond Filter with UV

Sicce Green Reset 25 Pressurized Pond Filter with UVI been looking for a new filter for our approx 1000 gal pond, and past filters had just been a pain, as they would clog daily and cleaning them was a chore. I actually had one that the seam in the mold split. I was debating on another $70 cheaper filter, but after seeing some videos on each I decided this one was one for us. It was well worth it.

The filter out of the box seemed very solid, I was impressed by well it seemed to be made.

I hooked it up in minutes and had it working. However the UV was not working, I figured it just came lose during shipping so I un-screwed 3 screws and sure enough it did. The best thing is there is a clear peep hole at the top you just look at the top of the filter to see if its working, great idea. After reseating it I have not had an issue.

Now after about 5 days my pond has cleared up, and I am very impressed, the water flow from my 800Gal pump is great, the ease of use and cleaning I am glad I spent the extra money on this, as it was well worth it.

Update...The UV light for what ever reason burned out after about 3 to 4 weeks since I had it running, (good thing

they had this nice "peep" hole so you can see it. I contacted the vendor and with in a couple hours they already indicated they would get me another one. This vendor is outstanding, for thier support and product.

By the way, even though the light was out for a bit of time, this pond still remains clear and the best its look since I dug it quite a few years back. The filter is outstanding, the service is outstanding. This makes me and my life very happy :).

Hagen Fluval Surface Skimmer

Hagen Fluval Surface SkimmerI had really high hopes for this, especially after reading other reviews, but after a year of use, I'm not sure i would recommend it.

good:

* low cost. way lower than so many other surface skimmers

* adjusts to water evaporation (see below though)

* attaches to your current filter/skimmer

* has a top and a bottom intake that you can adjust, which allows you to balance it depending on how powerful your pump is. this is a little hard to describe why this is good unless you have one..

bad:

* it uses an air pocket under the top of the skimmer to keep the top part on the surface. I don't know why they don't just put styrofoam or something that's permanently floating. This design is tenuous. it's kinda like balancing a ball at the top of a hill. typically for me, the movement of the water eventually dislodges some of the air, then the thing sinks and is no longer a skimmer.

* the suction cups it uses to attach to the glass wears out. And if it's not attached firmly, the whole thing becomes ineffective because it doesn't hold the surface intake part on the surface.

frustrating. This is ALMOST an awesome product. If it had a mechanism for better attachment to the glass (e.g. magnet) and a better flotation for the surface collector, it'd be awesome. as it is, i wouldn't recommend this product.

I bought this version because the eheim version costs almost 3x as much and this one gets good reviews from folks at Plantedtank. To attach it to my Eheim intake (5/8" not 1/2"), I used the 90* elbow and joined the intake pipe to it using a short segment of 5/8" hose. The black center piece that stick up is the adjuster which opens and closes the lower openings. The more you allow flow through the bottom, the less the surface suction will be. Also, I had to drill a piece of plastic from my canopy to accommodate the height of the adjuster. But in so doing, you can increase or decrease the surface skimmer flow on the fly. Just remember to keep the top of the surface skimmer clean periodically.

Previously, I had a sponge prefilter on my intake pipe. I could still have one--just cut a short 2" piece of foam and slip it over the lower intake.

There are some bubbles being entrained into the intake from the surface water being sucked in. This has not been an issue. However, those with CO2 injected tanks should understand that outgassing of CO2 will occur from this area. This may not be a problem with intermittent activation--turn the center adjuster for a brief period when surface scum accumulates, then turn off most of the surface flow once the surface scum is cleared (takes about 20" or so).

Buy Hagen Fluval Surface Skimmer Now

Straight-forward installation, and it works great. Poor instructions, but the skimmer is pretty simple, so minimal documentation was not a problem. It removed all of the scum on the surface and made my 40 gallon goldfish tank glisten.

This product does what it says and removed surface film from your tank but it is very cheap to the touch and I didn't keep it in the tank. It removed the film within 2 days, 90 gallon salt tank. The film was back a few days later but I didn't want to put this back in. Main complain I have is the dependence on water level and how hard it is to set up and get working properly. I have it 3 stars because it did what it was intended to but it isn't a piece you can easily leave on your tank for a permanent fix.

It takes a bit of adjusting but once you get it set up it works great. Within a minute it had skimmed all the stuff off the top of the water and that oily residue that floats up there. It connected directly to my Fluval 405 with no problems. Great product and a great price.

Aqueon Large Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner

Aqueon 06231 Large Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner, 16-InchI bought this locally and used it in a tall 36 gallon tank. It's the right size, takes bit of violent shaking to get the suction going, and then vacuums well. Two problems: First, the brittle plastic suctioning end chips and breaks. Secondly, the blue cap that connects the large suctioning tube and the small flexible outflow tube became lose and fell off after about 1-2 months. I won't be buying this again.

Siphon works great, just as it should. However, I overall do not like the product. The tubing is very large making it difficult to control the large flow of water coming out. This prevents me from working delicate areas that need cleaning during a water change. The tube is also what I consider too short. I had to go to a home supply store, by a length of hose a couple feet longer to make it more usable. The bucket clip slides right off, which doesn't actually hold the hose in the bucket. I have owned other siphons that don't have this little issues. So in summary, I am using only the 16'' tube, my own tubing, and a old recycled bucket clip that actually holds the tubing in the bucket. Works for now, but I would encourage anyone else to keep looking.

Buy Aqueon Large Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Now

It's a large siphon that does what it's supposed to. The shake to start can be a pain but if you follow the directions it seems to work. Nice large hose moves water fast, almost too fast so it's great for draining tanks. If you're cleaning it can drain water too fast. I make sure to keep a finger close to the end so I can shut it down and restrict flow if needed.

It's kind of messy and its easier to just swish the water and let the filter do it's work. As for water changes, I ised a large piece of Tupperware dedicated to my aquarium. If you need a siphon, just buy an electric gravel cleaner.

Quiet One Lifegard Aquarium Pump, 991-Gallon Per Hour

Quiet One Lifegard Aquarium Pump, 991-Gallon Per HourThe pump doesn't come with the standard suction-cup style mount to keep vibration away from your sump bottom and walls. So, I have it on top of a sponge with a another sponge between it and the wall closest to it. Now the pump is quiet.

I decided to go with Quiet One after reading several reviews and it only uses 65 watts to pump 991gph. One of these keeps my 400 gallon pond crystal clear and clean. This pump pushes water up just under 6 feet with ease.

I recently ordered two more for my future fish room. These will be in my sump pumping water to my tanks. 65 watts is great and a great selling point.

I use this in my pond. it works great. I have it attached to a canister filter that i made for the intake side and it filters the water clear and pumps up to the small waterfalls for that added effect. I bought this one to replace an identical pump that lasted for over 5 years running 24X7.

I wasnt sure if i should purchase this pump or not but decided to and worked out great. i lower the flow rate while feeding so my fish have a chance to eat. After 5 or 10 min i turn it back full blast and it circulates all the water very fast. The only issue i have with it is that it is a little noisy but I dont mind it since the fish tank is in the living room and not in my bedroom. Also the fittings that come with it does not work well so what i ended up doing was buying some fittings from HomeDepot to screw into the return end to get a tighter fit which at about $3 each but a simple fix. I would buy it again if they go out in the long run

Great pump; does the trick. If you are concerned about the noise factor, it tends to hum a little louder if it's sitting on the bottom of something I rigged up a suspension mechanism so the pump is more or less 'floating' in the water. Very strong pump I have a ball valve in the hose leading to the tank and have it open less than 1/2 way.

Spirulina Discs Fish Food

Hartz Wardley Spirulina Discs, 2-OunceI have guppies, apple snails, pond snails, and shrimp. I feed a different food each day of the week. My creatures love this product. I actually bought it for the bottom feeders, but the guppies go crazy over it too. It sinks to the bottom perfectly and before long the fish find it and go crazy. The snails are next, and the fight ensues. The shrimp usually like to wait until things have died down, but sometimes they will sneak in and try to grab some bites before the others have cleared out.

They are good sized pellets for my 10 gallon community. My only complaint is the dispenser. The top slides around to reveal an oddly shaped hole which is too small to easily extract a disc. It's very annoying. I'd really rather just open the top and get one out.

KONG Naturals Crinkle Butterflies Catnip Toy, Colors Vary, 2-Pack

KONG Naturals Crinkle Butterflies Catnip Toy, Colors Vary, 2-PackWe have two cats and each one loves to play with these toys in a different way. Our tortie goes crazy batting these babies around the house. She even carries them around in her mouth from room to room. Our white kitten picks these up with her teeth, jumps in the air, does a little twist, and releases, essentially tossing the toy so that she can chase it. All cats will love these! The crinkle is very soft, so you don't have to worry about noise if that bothers you.

Both our wild guy Baxter and dainty Diva Emily love their "butter" toys; so much so that I'm afraid the first set has taken quite a beating and I'm back to get more sets for a kitty holiday gift and gifts for other family member's cats. Great cat fun, just the right size and they LOVE the little dangly things *antennae* cats use them to catch and toss the toy. They have the Good House-kitty Seal of Approval! :)

With other toys that he's ignored at first he's come around after a week or so and plays with them -sometimes sneakily but not this one. Maybe got squashed in transit as package to Australia was squashed. Wouldn't recommend it for fussy animal unless it adored catnip.

Coralife 05765 12X Turbo-Twist Pond Clarifier , 36-Watt

Coralife 05765 12X Turbo-Twist Pond Clarifier , 36-WattI purchased the 36 watt Turbo Twist clarifier about six weeks ago. I have a 5,500 gallon koi pond in direct sunlight most of the day. Up until buying the new Turbo Twist we had a constant battle with algae. Chemical treatment would only work for a week or so and was very expensive not to mention detrimental to some life forms in the pond. I installed the Turbo Twist and within a week the pond was crystal clear and has stayed clear since then. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with the product. This 36 watt model is supposed to handle up to 8,800 gallon ponds and they do make other sizes.

i was hesitating ordering this after reading reviews. but after research on other sights i found out this uv light was recomended for up to a 500 gallon aqaurium. and maximum flow rate of 1000-1200 gph. so if it doesnt work for your 5000 gallon pond that is probably why. i bought this for my 150 gallon saltwater aqaurium which has a mag drive 900 gph pump. i have seen such clear water in all my life. its so clear its amazing. seems to have cleared up my problem with white spot also. absolutely no iching going on now.very easy to install but you might have to take a trip to lowes to pick up some flexible hose. comes with 2 wall hanging brackets. hooked right up to my 3/4 return line. plus only took 2 days to ship to me with regular fed ex shipping from pet solutions.it has been running for 3 days now and im absolutely stunned with the results. i also have a coral life skimmer and light and both are also excellent.thank you coral life for your excellent products.

I had hoped that with this clarifier my pond would stay crystal clear all season. It has not. I have a small pond and even with this product I am still getting algae. I still have to clean the algae out by hand every two or three weeks.

Want Coralife 05765 12X Turbo-Twist Pond Clarifier , 36-Watt Discount?

I give this three stars, as so far it does not seem to be effective after ten days, but if it works better, I will add to this report.

I have a 1200 gallon pond that is out in the full Arizona sun. For years I have struggled to control the huge green algae bloom by use of chlorine tabs, supershock and pH control. This will work for a while, but two or three times a year it will get away from me. Then I have drain the pond, clean it thoroughly, and refill it. This is difficult job and wastes lots of water.

When I first read about UV clarifiers, I was impressed, and did a lot of research to determine which one would be best, and what size bulb needed.

This one, with the "turbo flow" seemed to be the best, and I picked the 36 W one to be sure it would handle the size of my pond and the high flow rate of the pump. And the user reviews were good.

When it first came and I read all the instructions, it seemed easy enough to assemble. I liked the fact that the input and output hubs could be rotated into different positions. It seems to be easy enough to clean periodically by disconnecting the hose clamps and pulling out the end.

The first thing that is disturbing and seems ridiculous is that it states the clarifier should be be permitted to get wet. I pondered how it could be kept outdoors attached to the above-ground pump and not get wet when it rained. I called to see if this was true, and they said I'd have to build some sort of enclosure to protect it from the rain. That is next to impossible with my setup.

If the thing does not leak OUT with water pouring through it, now in the world would water get INTO it? Why would hey design a device that has to be outdoors that cannot withstand rain? I probably should have returned it and bought from another manufactured, but I was anxious to get it started before any green algae started to grow. I have covered it with a plastic bag and hope that will work.

Finally, it has been running 24/7 now for ten days, and it seems like green algae is already beginning to start. I am so concerned, that I went back to using some chlorine again. This is completely disappointing to pay this much for the unit, and additional to have a plumber install it, only to find that it is not going to work.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it may eventually start doing what is is designed for. If it does, I'll give it four stars, but if not, it will get only one, and actually deserve zero. Time will tell.

The C-360 is a great canister filter, if you pay attention to directions and use some common sense.

Keep in mind that this is a professional series filter its not for the average hobbyist who will pull it out of the box, hook it up (without understanding instruction), and watch the pretty fish swim by.

Here is what I found -

1). The filter weighs 23lbs empty it holds 2.5 gallons of water at 8.5lbs per gallon. When full of media and water, this filter weighs 45lbs. Not something you want to move around a lot.

2). Since I considered myself a semi-pro fish keeper I hooked the filter up without reading or understanding the instructions A Big Mistake. Micro-bubbles and leaking like you wouldn't believe.

3). Take the time to inventory what is in the box and understand the components.

4). Per the instructions, keep the hoses to a minimum length. A straight shot from the canister to tank is best. (I found this vital to eliminating micro-bubbles).

5). When hooking the hoses to the canister mechanism, DO NOT hand tight only. You will need to use a wrench to completely tighten. Caution do not over tighten or plastic will crack. (this step is vital to eliminating micro-bubbles)

6). Make sure the canister is full of water prior to priming. Instruction say 2 pushes of the prime button ignore this and plan on 10-15 pushes with some wait time in between.

7). Placement of the media baskets in the canister is CRITICAL. Make sure the top cylinder of each tray has the rubber gasket on (these fall off easily).

8). Place the bottom basket in the canister, next one on top. Critical that you stick your finger down the hole to make sure the 2nd tray is seated on the 1st. Repeat for all trays. Make sure they snap together.

9). Make sure to keep the rubber ring (gasket) on the top lid lubricated. I used small amounts of vaseline it works great.

10). On 1st set up you can expect micro-bubble for the first few hours. You can wait it out, or slightly tip the canister to a side to remove faster. If bubbles prolong check that your hoses are tightly connected. No hand tightening. Check that you have the shortest possible hose run and that it is not obstructed.

11). I would highly recommend this filter to anyone who want to pay attention to detail, and set it up correctly. Leaking and Micro-bubbles are for those who don't understand how the filter works.

I am not sure why other's have reviewed this filter with "micro-bubbles". I have been using my C360 for a 60-Gallon tank and have been nothing but delighted. It does take some patience setting each tray appropriately on each of the previous tray placements, but the unit is difficult to snap the top on if all trays aren't set propery. To me, this is a self evident tip, I haven't done something right... Not a problem with the unit itself. Other than a few drops of water when I remove the tubing head, there is no mess at all around the aquarium. Very easy to use, very efficient, and very quiet...

A great filter... I am buying two more for my soon to be aquired 125 Gallon...

I am a noobie when it comes to Aquariums...however, the new home I purchased had an outdoor Koi pond, which was not deep enough to keep them out during the winter (in the Northeast). I went and purchased a 125 Gallon tank and the C-360...it is very easy to use, and when you need to clean it, just turn a knob, pull out the hoses and take the filter away without spilling but maybe a drop of water...clean it, flush it and connect it and you are back and running...VERY easy...my water looks clear and clean with 12 Koi! :)

The reviews left by others had stopped me from buying the ML360 canister filter.

I was trying similar products with better reviews that ended up not working for my set up.

Fluval 306 too loud for me.

Aquastop Canister too loud, impeller rattle, not enough room for the media I liked to use. The UV Sterilizer is a plus!

As a last resort I purchased the ML360. After 1 week of running this filter I have no complaints, yet.

I wanted something that was quiet. A low hum was ok, I just didn't wan't to hear the filter when I was reading or trying to fall asleep.

I love the sturdiness of this filter, everything seems to be of good quality plastic, nothing is cheap, thin, or mediocre. Clamps snap on firmly.

The vinyl tubing has a 3/4" inner diameter and 1" outer diameter and its tough to manage, but not impossible. A few cuts and adjustments does the trick.

I was having a hell of a time keeping the intake U-tube in place while adjusting the heavy hosing. I ended up using a 90* elbow to get to the filter to prevent any kinks.

I didn't like the media that the filter came with. I use SeaChem's media (bottom to top) Carbon Matrix, PhosGuard, Purigel, Matrix, and ML Polishing Pad included with the filter.

Water flow is great, i'm using am in-line 10 Watt UV sterilizer on the return line and the water pressure hasn't gone down at all.

The water exhaust nozzle has a vent adjustment so you can aim to different streams of water, very useful. I have one disturbing the surface tension on the tank and one going down and towards the far side of the tank.

What you will like: It is quiet, NOT silent, you can hear a low hum, but it doesn't over power a quiet room. (Bedroom in my case)

What you should consider: Take an hour out of your schedule to get the tubing just right. I suggest getting some 3/4" 90* elbows if your aquarium stand has a small opening for hoses and cables. I 'd spend the extra $40 and get your own media.

Side Note: Media of good quality that will mitigate water changes and keep the aquarium crystal clear. I find SeaChem good for this. The 4 years i've been keeping fish I find that SeaChem products are the best, never had issues with Ammonia, Phosphates, Silicates and Nitrates stay around 10ppm. I usually do a 30% water change every month. Media change/re-charge every 4 5 months.

Good luck finding what you're looking for. Hope I helped you in some way.

This a a great looking filter. It seems like a good design, but every minute or so it blows out micro bubbles that make the tank look dirty. I have tried everything to fix it but nothings works. I am very disappointed. You would think Marineland would come up with a fix for this. Try another filter and stay away from the C series.

Finnex 200-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 60 to 80-Gallon

Finnex 200-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 60 to 80-GallonThis aquarium heater has been in place and working for several months. I have been very happy with its performance to date. It gives me confidence in lowering my houses heat seating during the day while at work in the winter months. It would be nice if it had some feed back on the actual water temp, a digital read out or something. It currently has two lights, a green one to indicate it is working, and a red one that indicates when the heat element is actually on. I like this type heater especially though for its greater resistance to breaking as opposed to the glass tube models.

titanium is the way to go very, very acurrate a must have for saltwater aquarium with temp control for your tank

I bought and tried some cheap heaters with good reviews and everyone was junk, almost lost my fish a couple of times, this heater is awesome, unbreakable, and is within 2 degrees plus or minus, it does tank some time to heat a 55 gallon tank but once set, it is set it and forget it, day or night its dead on, no more worries or getting up all night to check temps, dont buy the cheap junk, put out the few extra dollars for this unit and be done with it, thank you for a great product.

Lee's Two-Way Guppy Breeder

Lee's Two-Way Guppy BreederI bought this for my pregnant guppies. For the first guppy, I had no idea when she would deliver. I looked in the tank one evening and noticed tiny fry swimming all over. I quickly grabbed the breeder and netted the fry into it (just over 20 total). They were quickly contained and have been growing in it quite nicely since.

I purchased another for my second pregnant guppy as the first was full of growing fry. Since I had an idea of when she would deliver, I went ahead and put her in it. She was actually in there for almost a week and although she wasn't thrilled, she was no worse for wear. When delivery time came the fry dropped to the bottom and were safe. She only had 7 and when she was done I just lifted the entire "V" with her in it and easily deposited her back into my tank. Unfortunately two of the fry were exceptionally tiny (I believe they were probably Endler's X's) and they DID go through the slits and are now gone. However if the side slits were any smaller, it would not be possible to clean debris from inside the breeder, or allow proper circulation.

For those curious, the breeder actually just floats around in the tank. The two little flap looking things on the side are actually air chambers that keep it afloat. It's pretty clever, really. My two fit easily in my ten gallon; I could probably fit another, maybe even a fourth if I lined them all up sideways.

i bought this for my pregnant guppy. it works very well. it's very light weight and easy to assemble, it takes about 15 seconds.

This is a pretty tiny breeders box (check the dimensions), but it's pretty well made and detailed. There is a bottom slat where the fry can swim or fall to the bottom of the box and there's a divider so you can divide the box into two parts for two fish.

The idea is that you put the pregnant fish on to the top compartment. They give birth to live young (the fry), who then fall to the bottom. The divider is in case you have two pregnant fish. There are slats on the sides for water flow, and there's even a lid so fish won't jump in or out. The whole box just sticks to the side of the tank inside by surface tension.

Right now, I'm just using it to keep fry in and so far it works pretty well. It's small for any kind of fish, even small guppies, but for fry it's ok. I'm satisfied with it so far.

Good product, exactly what I ordered. The description doesn't provide as much info as I would have liked, but it was only a few bucks so I bought it and it works well. This would not be suitable for fish that lay smaller egg (i.e. zebra danios). The only issue I have has is the top popping off, which I fixed with a piece of tape. I used a wire to support it on the side of the tank. It hangs right on the side. I have already deliver a batch of fry.

This is the best breeder I've ever used, the V shape of the insert helps to ensure the fry to drop down and stay safe. I use this for my livebearers Platies and Guppies, very easy to assemble.

Catalina Adjustable Heat Pad 7 Watt 6 x 8in

Catalina Adjustable Heat Pad 7 Watt 6 x 8inI love that this heating pad is adjustable after my snake burnt himself on his last one. I have it on the lower setting and check it every day to make sure it isn't too warm.

My only concern with this is that it doesn't stick well at all. I have had to duck tape it to the bottom of my tank after it was slowly peeling off a number of times.

All in all, I like it. I feel that duck tape is a small price to pay to be able to adjust the heat.

I actually bought this for my Dubia roaches. The adjustable heat setting works ideal! I have underneath my Sterilite tub, and it's temperature is about 95F on the "Medium" setting. (Just a FYI if anyone is courious for the same reason I bought mine.)

She lives in a cage in the house, but it gets cold when the heater is off. I put the heat pad on top of two parallel perches, then there's a square of wood the same size with linoleum nailed on top of the wood sitting on the heat pad. I use three paper clips to keep a fresh napkin on top of that, so she has a clean warm place to live on. It uses a lot less power than that human heating pad that was on top of the cage before.

Galleon Ship Aquarium Ornament - 2 Part

Galleon Ship Aquarium Ornament - 2 PartIt's a very awesome ornament and it looks great in my boyfriends fishtank (I bought it for him for Christmas). The HUGE BUMMER thing was that when he opened this present, it was broken in a few spots and a few pieces broke off completely. It was a horrible feeling, but luckily he has fishtank sealant. So he fixed it but I'm really dissappointed that it showed up this way because I paid alot of money for this and expected it to come without any damage. I wont buy from this company again.

This is a very nice product . It arrived well packaged with no damage . Fits my pirate tank decor . Provides great hiding places for my African cichlids .
