Want Bio-Sponge® Filter Media for Cascade® Canister Filter Pumps, single-pack Discount?

Just an FYI, each package only contains 1 sponge (filter floss comes in a 6 pack). . . This perfectly fits the trays inside the cascade 1200 and 1500 canister filters. The sponge is quite coarse and will catch the biggest debris particles. However you'll want a tray or two loaded with filter floss to polish the water.

As for maintenance of the bio-sponge, there's really no reason to replace this product any sooner than once a year. To clean it: pour the old canister water into a bucket, then take and wring out this "biosponge" in there. Wash it off using the old aquarium water and once it's fairly clean, put the sponge right back into the filter. Don't use city tap water to wash this because the chlorine will kill the beneficial denitrifying bacteria.

I say 5 stars out of 5 because it perfectly fits the filter tray, the price isn't outrageous, and it will last a really long time.

Aquatop D2HT-450 Aquarium Heater Digital Dual Display, 450-Watt

Aquatop D2HT-450 Aquarium Heater Digital Dual Display, 450-WattI purchased this product on line. I put it in my tank. I checked the digital temperature shown against two thermometers. They all agreed. I like that it is very very easy to read my tank temperature and the temperature set on the heater. It is simple to set the heater temperature, just press a button multiple times. After about one month it stopped working. It was replaced with a new one by the original supplier. Only three stars because it broke early.

This heater cost me several thousand dollars in saltwater fish. I bought it for my 175 gallon tank. it reset itself at 88 degrees. I was out of town for the night and when I returned emagine my suprprise when the temp was so high and many fish dying on bottom of tank due to stress in temp change. I reset it to 79 degrees wondering what could of caused it to reset at 88. several days later it did the same thing Thank heavens I was home and caught it in time to save my remaining fish. Needless to say it is no longer heating my saltwater tank and I have logged a complaint with the company. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. I had my fish for many years and they ere show quality. I was a sad day.

I purchased this aquarium heater on October 13, 2012. As soon as I got it, I put it in my 150 gallon tank. It worked great until 2 days ago (December 19, 2012). It comes on long enough to tell me my tank is 10 degrees colder than it's supposed to be...then it just goes back off. 3 months isn't long enough for this thing to work. I'm disappointed and won't buy another one of this brand. I wouldn't recommend you do either!

Fluval C2 Ammonia Remover - 3-Pack

Fluval C2 Ammonia Remover - 3-PackI bought this for my Fluval Edge and although its a little "big" for the filter slot it works just fine.

After rinsing it, before replacing the old ammonia pack, I have to fold the extra mesh bag and then flatten it as much as I can so the rest can fit in the grey plastic filter holder the Edge comes with.

I would recommend and buy it again.

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Tetra 10Gal Inc Economy Starter Kit

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Tetra 10Gal Inc Economy Starter KitI love this aquarium! I've had it for 6 months now and it does everything that it was made to do. After cycling, the filter keeps the tank very clean. I have my male betta and 5 pygmy corydoras in this and they love it. I needed to add a heater since they are tropical fish. I wish that the kit also came with a net and a thermometer so that would be 2 less things that you would have to buy separate, but it's ok.

I purchased this aquarium about 3 weeks ago and it's great. We have 6 goldfish in it and it truly is a great display. It's easy to set up and maintenance is not hard. I would recommend this aqaurium to anyone who desires to have pet fish. It's a great aquarium to start off with.

I have owned 2 of these aquarium kits, and they have both started to leak inexplicably after about 3 years of use. The tanks were inexpensive and served their purpose for a bit of time, but do not hold up as well as Marineland tanks. You get what you pay for, and I regret not spending the extra few dollars in the beginning for a better fish tank. Trying to find emergency homes for fish in the middle of the night is no fun at all.

Fish Bubbles - Wall Hanging Fish Tank - 3.6L

Fish Bubbles - Wall Hanging Fish Tank - 3.6LWaste off money, i brought 5 of them should have brought one and see how it goes.

But with water fish rocks etc... the hooks thingy were it hangs cracks and you guess it water fish rocks all over the place and crying screaming kids, very upset about there fish..

Thank goodness we were home and was able to save fish.

All 5 tanks cracked the same way.

WASTE OF MONEY!

I love this fishbowl and I get more compliments on it than any other decoration in my house. We've had our Beta fish in for over 6 months now and it seems pretty happy in it's home too. I love decorating it for holidays by putting fancy paper behind it and changing the rock color. I also put a lighted christmas wreath around it during the Chrismas and it was so beautiful! It also nice that young little hands can't reach into it and other pets don't even notice it all. A must have if you like fish!!

I love these bubbles...but not for housing fish. Instead, I purchased a couple of these to hold fruit in my kitchen. I live in a small condo, and live with someone who is an avid juicer and smoothie creator. I mounted these on the wall and they hold a surprising amount of fruit! Way better than cluttering up counter space in a small living space. Love them!

Bought 2 pcs and hung them a feet apart. Guests liked it. Betta fish each tank/bubble but shld also work with other fish. With colored pebbles (maybe < 2 cups each tank), a live aquatic plant, and a bulb of water lily growing it looks nice! I used a hook (e.g Hercules hook ) and had no prob holding it with a water < gallon. I only feed my fish 2-3x/wk with few food flakes so i just change the water every ten days. So don't over feed your fish as this will make the water dirty thus frequent cleaning is required.

The tank itself is small, I just don't think $17 is worth the plastic half bowl you get. I mean the idea is definitely cool, which is probably all that your paying for. The tank itself is cheap.

Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power Head

Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power HeadI have a 50 Gal Tank, with a variety of community fish appx 20 fish total, i have 2 snails, and a pleco. the tank is filtered by Fluval 305.

When i first set the tank up it was great, water couldnt be clearer. over time, it would accumulate floating algae (ALOT),so much algae that you could not see any of the fish, or any of the ornaments, and i would be doing anywhere from 20% to 50% water changes every week or every other week because it would get so bad, and sometimes the water changes would have very little to no effect on slowing down the algae growth. i DID NOT want to try chemicals because i find alot of people say that it just stresses out the fish, and i didnt want to try chemical treatment also because i didnt like the idea of having it in the water. so i started doing some research on how to make the situation better. i saw alot of diffrent styles of UV sterilizers (more expensive in MOST cases) and the fact that you need to buy/or already have a power head for them was not helping the situation financially. i came across AA's product and read a dozen reviews or so, where 9 out of 10 were positive.

i really love the fact that it is self contained, has it's own pump, filter, and UV light.. the instructions lack quality images and is a bit cumbersome to follow at first, but when you sit down and actually just look at the image of the unit on the box, you can figure out how to put it together yourself. the reason i bought the (24W) unit is because i felt that i had maybe a worse case than usual algae problem because there is sunlight from 2 windows hitting the tank (by the way, i tried cutting the light out of the tank, did not work)

Setup took literally 10 min, from out of the box to running in the tank, and was NO HASSLE at all. the first 24 hrs or so, i didn't really see a difference. then at 48 hrs i started to see like a milky but clearer situation in the tank, at the end of the third day, things were looking good but not perfect yet, finally on ONLY the 4th day, i can see not only the fish and ornaments, but straight through to the back of the tank!. i feel that this product works Extremely Efficiently and is a must have for anyone with algae/bacteria problems. the money i used to buy this product was very well spent, and i don't think there is a better unit within the price range to beat this. i can expect that in the next few days or so the water WILL BE clearer than tap water (ive read in reviews that its actually clearer than bottled water), i am very much looking forward to this.

i would give this product 10 stars out of 5 , that is how much i love it. it works great, IS QUIET (cant hear it AT ALL), and is very easy to set up. Would recommend to Everyone with an aquarium

With no UV sterilizer installed I have insane algae issues with my turtle tank. Think Shamrock Shake. A full water change and this Green Killing Machine installed and there's no sign of algae developing 2 weeks in. It's in a 75 gallon tank. I like that it lives inside the tank, so there's no potential for leaking. The setup they have to power the UV lamp and the included powerhead from one AC adapter is pretty spiffy. I replaced a leaking 15W Pentair Lifeguard with this, and it's 24W vs the Pentair's 15W, for half the cost.

It's toy-like product name and low price had me a little dubious of its quality, but so far its living up to it's title.

Buy Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power Head Now

Keeping fish for the past 40 years and experimeting with U.V Sterilizers for the past seven my read on them is that tanks fitted with the right sized unit is a definite plus. What had put me off about UV systems was the need for pumps, tubing , plumbing and the overall hassle of installing them .

This unit includes the pump requires no hoses or tubing to run and nothing extra to buy you can literally take this out of the box, attach inside your tank or sump, plug it in and that's that.

Regarding the selling of UV in general there is far to much emphasis on green algae. Removing algae is little more than a side benefit. What UV does extremely well is remove disease causing pathogens and harmful bacteria from the water. Especially important in well stocked tanks. What U. V sterilizers do is pull in water which flows past an encased in clear quartz tube and is exposed to UV light, which kills up to 99% of harmful pathogens. So more important than GPH or anything else for that matter is the exposure time with which water passes by the UV bulb.

I think marketing this as a "Green Killing Machine" is probably a smart idea and would get the attention of hobbyists who otherwise could give a hoot about the other benefits of UV. However if your algae is due to things like too much full spectrum light, over feeding or poor water water parameters this is just a bandaid that will only at it's best disguise the real and significant problems facing your aquarium.

What is more, this unit a incedibly cumbersome three seperate components and a myraid of wires both inside and outside the tank make this a potentially dangerous product for fish as well as humans. Much like the spiral design of the Coral Life systems, the zig zag interior of this system employs this same kind of theory in design to add as much exposure time to the UV and in my book that trumps GPG ratings which are usually false to begin with. However, this isn't to say GPH isn't important of course it is and this is also the key area of this design that's lacking.

The MFG doesn't list the GPH because it's so terribly low. Using a Hach instrumentation flow meter which works on sound waves and runs about 3 grand this pump has a flow rate of 11.2 GHP which is unacceptable for any size tank even though the unit contains a whopping 24 watt UV lamp. In addition remember UV can't penetrate glass without being diluted hence, quartz fashioned into a true lens is used as housing. Because the unit is effective although extremly slow my best guess is fused glass is used. Fused glass is a combination of quartz and glass and is a fraction of the cost of pure quartz. To replace the cover of the included 24 watt bulb with pure quartz at a rock bottom price would cost you $65-$75

The enormous tangle of wires and having the control box outside on the wall or back of the tank is an accident waiting to happen not to mention, the suction cups used on the outside are weak and the unit falls off frequently. They call this "child proofing" -and it's nonsense. Any child is going to be more inclined to pull something off the tank that's just sitting there than figure out a way to get their hands into the aquarium.

Take a pass on this particular unit until they at least address it's many flaws.

** Never use a UV Sterilizer in a new or still cycling aquarium, these are for established aquariums only Plus you don't need to run UV 24/7 twelve hours a day or less is fine for most applications. It's a good idea to plug the unit into a dedicated power strip or use with a timer since these don't have an on/off switch**

** You can increase the efficiency of any UV Steelier, your filter and the overall health of your tank by adding a small water circulator. If you don't need a power head these are ideal. The keep the current in your tank even and eliminate cold and hot spots. The temperature will be uniform. The current keeps particulate matter waterborne making it easier for things like filters and UV systems to do a better job. Brown algae and green algae spores are poor swimmers, the current helps keep them from attaching to tank walls and sides and off any ornaments, dried corals, rocks and so on.

I recommend the ones by Aqueon they're silent, do a great job, install right out of the box and are a fraction of the cost of most others.

My 120 gallon tank gets a good bit of natural light. I set it up in October and about 2 months later the water went from clear to slime green in a couple days. I couldn't see an inch into the tank. I did some research, but decided with the natural light that it would probably come back, so I got the green killing machine and hoped for the best. My water cleared up about a day after putting it in the tank and has stayed clear!

Want Green Killing Machine Internal 24 Watts UV Sterilizer with Power Head Discount?

Sure it clears the water. Help get rid of things like ich? Doubt it natural supplements like garlic have been the trick for me. Another reviewer mentioned the cables, yeah they are a little messy. The suction cups on the powerbox stink, they hold for about 3 hours on clean glass. The suction cups on the unit itself do not hold at all. I have this in my refugium and its not mounted because it wont stay mounted... Clean the sponge/prefilter often. It does clear up green water /excessive algae but i didnt have a problem with that anyway. A friend had turned me on to this as he had problem algae and this did great work in a matter of days. Water changes and good husbandry would do the same though... I wouldnt buy this again but i wouldnt discourage you from buying it since it is available at the major pet store chains and replacement parts/units are available and its cheap.

Hikari Usa AHK73251 Prazipro for Aquarium, 1-Ounce

Hikari Usa AHK73251 Prazipro for Aquarium, 1-OunceIt took just one treatment for me to notice a difference in two days. I purchased fish from two different stores in a new tank. Soon after a couple were not doing well and with a new tank I wasn't sure which fish caused the sickness. I ended up treating the entire tank (removing the carbon) and withing a few days everyone looked great!

I used PraziPro for my new goldfish. Treating with Prazi and salt really helped rid my new fish of any infections he may have had before I got him. I could actually see healing begin (dark spots) after a few days of treatment. Treating all new fish is recommended before adding them to your aquarium.

EasyPro BSE32 Liquid Barley Straw Extract, 32-Ounce

EasyPro BSE32 Liquid Barley Straw Extract, 32-OunceI have had a 15 X 20 foot koi pond for about seven years and have struggled the first four years to make the water clear so that I could actually see the Koi through the murky water. I can not believe what a difference liquid barley extract makes. I sure wish I had found this product sooner. My water is now crystal clear and stays that way with just a little added now and then. When I find something that works, I stick with it. I will continue to buy this product for years to come. Don't bother trying anything else, I have, they don't work, but this does!

This product has no effect whatsoever in my small water feature. It does not seem to prevent or get rid of algae. I have tried varying the dose to no avail. It's a shame too, I really wanted to find something more organic.

Fluval Disposable CO2 Cartridge (3.1 oz.)

Fluval 88g-CO2 Disposable Cartridges - 3-PackA few years back I purchased a Fluval CO2 88 gram system

on sale. The entire setup was only about $36 (it usually retails for twice that).

I really liked how convenient it was, and it did a great job enhancing the growth of my plants.

However, the replacement cartridges can range from about $12 each in a three pack ($36 total) to more than $20 a piece. I used to get about a month out of single CO2 88 cartridge when using 3 bubbles per second and turning this CO2 system off at night.

So when I began setting up additional aquariums this system became impractical.

I decided to purchase a larger pressurized CO2 system which I used on one of my aquariums for about a year, while attempting to find a DIY CO2 system that actually worked well in daily use, and at an affordable price.

I tried several combinations and finally found that the quality of the yeast can make the difference between a few days of CO2 production to several weeks.

I now use SAF instant yeast exclusively, since it is far superior to the store bought packets of yeast which can cost as much as $3.50 an ounce. I pay about .23 an ounce for the SAF yeast.

The recipe I am using presently gives about three weeks of consistent CO2 production before the bubble count begins to decrease significantly.

Two cups of granulated sugar mixed with one teaspoon of SAF instant yeast, in a 2 liter bottle filled 3/4's of the way with warm water, is the best concoction that I have used to this point.

I have used the same recipe with Fleishmann's yeast, yet only got a week out of it before the bubble count dropped significantly.

When my plants pearl oxygen bubbles I know that the water column has been saturated with oxygen, and my DIY CO2 system is working optimally. When the plants stop pearling O2 bubbles, that is when I know it's time to recharge the CO2 generator.

I purchase the sugar and yeast in bulk and for four planted aquariums the annual cost is about $50. This as opposed to between $450 and $1000 a year for four Fluval CO2 88 canisters each month.

I have seen these canisters selling for as little as $12 each to as much as $21 each. This, like the many different mini C02 systems from companies such as ADA, ISTA and GLA, are convenient to use but very expensive in relation to a larger pressurized system, which utilizes a CO2 tank ranging in size from about 5 to 20 Lbs.

If you only have one planted tank it's not that much of an issue. However, if you're using injected CO2 on several aquariums, a well setup DIY system can save you a small fortune each year.

There's also the safety issue to consider.

DIY CO2 is by the fermentation process, so it's safe to use in your home, as opposed to using a pressurized CO2 tank which could leak or even explode.

The product was accidently sent to someone else, I called amazon and they promptly sent a new one. THanks. For the product it is a good alternative, to an expensive"$250 and up" co2 sys. Each tank last about 1 month. The dial is easy to use on the regulator. One day I want a automatic co2 but this does the job for now. Overall good product, and convenient to get refills shipped right to the house

These work perfectly with the matching regulator. I get about three weeks use from one in my 29g. I am up grading to a "real" regulator since I found out that I can get a 5lb refill for about $17.00.

Quick shipping, not the best packaging. Everything arrived in good condition though. I use these cartridges for my 36G planted tank (with the bubble counter and diffuser also supplied by Fluval) and it does a great job. The bubbles come out super tiny, I run my cartridges for about 12 hours a day and they last me a couple of months each.

Penn-plax Super Battery Vac

Penn-plax Super Battery Vaci had this for about 2 months used it for maybe 4 times. it worked great has really good suction power better than what i have now from Profile. for no reason it stopped working. the drawback is the switch is on the side. it got rusty. its not water resistant at all. i dont think i will buy it again. cheap material plus it lasted me only 2 months.

Not as good as I thought it was gooing to be the sock thing get discusting and you have to wash it everytime you use it very well or its pointless and its fabric so its not easy. all the little particles are still incased in it and becomes slimy if the had a diffrent type of catcher for the yucky stuff it would be great.

Sadly disappointed this lacks suction to clean effectively. Concept is good, I'm sure there is a better option. It's just not this one.

This is a good little vacuum for your aquarium. It's battery operated (2 C's) and it's small enough to get between rocks or other objects. We've used this item several times. The little catcher bag will fall off if you don't have it clamped tightly on the vacuum. My husband usually just holds it with his hand, but I think you could just put a rubber band on it and that would be fine. Anyway, this little vacuum does a good job and we've used it quite a bit since we bought it.

I hoped it would work in my small aquariums, but it did not. I guess the water levels weren't high enough? I have no idea why it was not able to vacuum anything out, but it would've really been useful and a convenient tool had it worked since I got it so that I wouldn't have to do a full water change so often or use a siphon on such small tanks. It did work okay in my full size tanks.

Much cheaper than the price for similar products at local pet supply stores.

Zoo Med Nano 501 External Canister Filter

Zoo Med Nano 501 External Canister FilterWas looking for a small external to better filter my heavily stocked and planted 6 gallon Fuval Edge. This 501 will actually fit in the space behind where the HOB filter sits out of sight. The flow rate is perfect and not overly strong for little tanks and little fishes Perfect!

My main complaint was with the hanger that came with this. I had to modify it with extension arms for my rattan clad 7.5 gallon hex tank while it's main rival, the TOM Rapid Mini's hanger was perfect. The hoses and intake/outtake accessories that come with the 501 are far superior to that of the Rapid Mini and will accommodate a wide variety of aquariums. This canister also has a large sponge filter for final stage filtering while the TOMs has none. I did not care for the 501's non-reusable carbon/bag and replaced it with a reusable Seapora 3X5" filter bag (fits perfectly) using Seachem Renew which I prefer over carbon filtration in planted tanks. Since this filter uses 120V AC, a GFCI is mandatory. Besides the hanger issue, the instructions advise to put the ceramic filter media above the carbon bag while the picture on the box shows the opposite.

Do note that this filter costs about 50% more than the TOM but that's due to the Zoo Med being made in Italy while the TOM is made in China. BTW, I own both but after buying new hoses and supporting parts for the TOM, the final cost was about the same for both.

Just what it said it was. Constructed well and supplied with all the needed parts for a few different setup methods. It is also very quite.

I have had this filter for about 3 weeks now, and it works well. Set up took me about 1 hour because you have to put the filter media in and cut the plastic intake and return tubes to the correct length to fit your aquarium. I used a utility knife, and it was hard to cut. My aquarium water was a touch cloudy when I started using this filter (that's why I bought it) and after letting it run for 3 days the water stayed cloudy. I had make a full water change before it cleared-up, so this filter is no miracle worker for clear water.

Coral Vue Technology AC20287 Octopus Needle Wheel Skimmer for Aquarium Filter, 6-Inch, 150-Gallon

Coral Vue Technology AC20287 Octopus Needle Wheel Skimmer for Aquarium Filter, 6-Inch, 150-GallonI replaced a cheap brand "beginner" protein skimmer with this model for my 75 gallon + 30 sump system. The break-in period was shorter than advertised, was already pulling out material in a few days.

Basically for the price point this is the best skimmer you can get until you start throwing down serious dollars on a out-of-sump model. I reviewed a large number of skimmers online and finally picked this one based on those conditions. Spend less than $100 and your skimmer is basically trash.. you won't get a good skimmer until about $300 and >. Since I already had a cheap skimmer I knew the problems.

I've always believed in over-filtering my tank, so I bought the NWB-150 for my 90 Gallon Reef Tank. The benefits of running this larger skimmer exceed the extra money it costs to go to the next size up. Initially, the protein skimmer will not produce much skimmate because of the factory residue that is on the skimmer, but once it kicks in, you will be blown away once you see how much foam this produces and how much stinky green "goop" you'll be pulling out of your water column. The needle wheel impeller is second to none for what you will pay for this skimmer. If you are worried about the collection cup overflowing while you are away, simply remove the rubber plug to the collection cup and run the silicone hose (that comes with the skimmer) into a washed out milk jug!

I've found that if I detach my collection cup weekly and and scrub out the green film that develops on the insides walls, it runs much better. If you run it dirty or if you run your water level too low in the skimmer, you will not allow the foam to climb high enough so that it falls into the collection cup, which results in a slimy build-up in the wrong area of the skimmer.

As far as the construction of the skimmer goes, I am very happy. They use a very high-density plastic so you don't have to worry about accidentaly bumping it and causing a crack.

In terms of noise, I give this one an A+. This particular unit comes with a baffle that controls the airflow to the impeller and ALSO blocks off any noise that you might be used to hearing from your old skimmer. It is virtually undetectable when running, so that is a huge plus. The gate valve on the skimmer also makes it very easy to control the water level within the skimmer, and if you don't like to hear splashing from the return section of the skimmer, simply turn the return pipe until the water is falling against something that muffles the sound! The motor of the unit is also very efficient and silent, so you don't have to worry about hearing any "hums" from it.

All-in-all, this is a great skimmer that will keep your aquarium healthy and free of excessive protein build-up. It is a must have for any saltwater aquarium, so go with the next size up if you plan on upgrading to a larger tank in the future or plan on having a lot of fish in your tank.

Buy Coral Vue Technology AC20287 Octopus Needle Wheel Skimmer for Aquarium Filter, 6-Inch, 150-Gallon Now

Have had this skimmer for several months now and it works great. Took a bit to adjust and learned to make sure I set the water level by measuring what the water is at inside the skimmer and not by the sump. Found that the skimmers water level inside when running is usually a couple inches higher than the sump. Point being, when you set the height of your sump according to the water level on the sticker on the skimmer make sure it is the height of the water inside the skimmer while it is running. Love it

Aquarius Aq360-3g Gloview 3-Gallon Aquarium Kit

Aquarius Aq360-3g Gloview 3-Gallon Aquarium KitThis tank offers a 360 degree view of the fish. (Including the cool "bending" effect you get in a curricular tank that you don't get in a square or rectangle) Hood as a LED lamp with 4 settings: White, Blue, Blue moonlight and Blue & White. Blue enhances the color of the fish. White simulates daylight. I leave the Blue & White on during the day for effect. The hood also features two "knock-outs" on the back for an optional hang-on filter and a notch for the air tubing and optional heater cord. Also includes an under-gravel filter. Very sturdy as well!

Love the way this tank looks on my daughter's desk! It's slick, does not take a lot of space, and the bubbles look really pretty. The air pump is a bit noisy, but it was not too big of a concern.

The problem is with the quality of the components. 3 weeks into using the tank, the blue light stopped shuting off. We just started unplugging it for the night. Two days later, the blue light completely stopped working. I called Kollercraft, and they replaced the light under warranty. I did not even have to send the old one back. Great! One month later, the white light on the replacement unit stopped working. We got it replaced again under warranty. Yesterday, the air pump stopped working, and of course, we are 2 weeks out of warranty period.

The under gravel filter leaves something to be desired, and the fish guard doesn't guard fish in that it keeps flying off. The LED lighting rusts easily. I would look elsewhere!

Easy to set up and beautiful! I want a few more. Would make an amazing gift for the fish enthusiast. Because it is only 3 gallons you can move it and clean it easily.

UPDATE 6-11-13

I have had the tank 6 months and finally the LED lamp went out. I saw elsewhere where this had been a problem. I called Kollercraft direct and they sent me out a replacement lamp for free...no questions asked. Great service and stand up company.

Well I read every review and saw there were complaints about the light but I was too impressed by the sparkly LED lights to noy hit my 2 day one click shipping.....low and behold the white light stopped working yesterday. Ive had it 3 weeks, I believe if I had not filled all the way to the top this may not have happened. The lights are splashed with the water from the air bubbler. I am going to contact the company and see how hard the replacement will be. I still like the little guy and keep my smaller fry in there safe from becoming food and I think it is a great deal for the price. Someone said it was flimsy when carrying it full of water to clean....uh....you never move a tank with water in it unless you want a mess, you siphon out the water first and then clean and put back together or just do the 20% change each week. It is plenty sturdy and a great little tank....when the lights are on.

********update******** 6 days after wrote review the white light stopped working

Tetra Aquatic Reptile Heater, 100 Watt

Tetra Aquatic Reptile Heater, 100 WattFirst of all, let me address some of the concerns mentioned here in other reviews. The heater is preset to warm your tank to 73 degrees. That may or may not seem like a huge difference to you depending on how warm you keep your home, where the tank is located and if the warmth of the basking light is helping to warm things up. This heater is meant to take the chill out of the water, not to "keep it warm". It's not meant for that and that is not what the turtle is looking for.

Secondly, I have had great success with ours...EXCEPT (my OWN fault!)....when changing my turtles water, somehow my son plugged in the heater when the heater was not completely submerged. Huge problem in that it fizzled, sparked and popped umm not good. It does say it in the directions, but they don't really ever say what will happen if you plug it in early. Of course, common sense should dictate, but last night it did not. I spent hours cleaning out the new tank AGAIN and now I am back to buy another!

The plastic housing is great! Only once has my monster of a red eared slider been able to open it. She does manage to knock it loose once in awhile though! It's all good!!

Overall...I would buy again. I am buying again. I would recommend this for others as well!

This heater works well for my 11 year old eastern painted turtle. I have her housed in a 40 gallon tank on a window sill facing East (she likes to watch the sun rise). What is important to understand about reptiles is that they thrive on sunlight as their primary source of heat, and any reptile in captivity should have access to real sunlight and intense artificial light for a substantial amount of time every day. A lamp that emits UVA and UVB rays should be the primary source of heat in your reptile's habitat, and any other heat source, such as an aquatic heater for a turtle, should only be a secondary source of heat.

I use the water heater in the winter months to keep the water in my turtle's tank from getting too cold at night, once I have turned off her heat lamp. I chose this particular heater over traditional aquarium heaters because it is housed in a plastic cage, and my turtle is very destructive. I have been using the heater since November and she hasn't managed to take it apart yet!

We recently received our Tetra Aquatic Reptile Heater, rated at 100watts and it has been great. Unit is built solid, has powerful suction cups and the option of routing the cord in 3 directions off one end. It says it is rated up to a 30 gallon tank, we have one that is 38 gallons (nearly full) for our 6" male Red Eared Slider turtle. He has checked it out, rested on it used it as platform etc and it hasn't budged or broken. The water stays at a constant 74 to 76 degrees. Our local pet shop charges $75.00 for a glass, unprotected heater of 75 watts. This unit was $16.99, protected and more powerful. Standard shipping had it at our door in Alaska in 5 days.

got this for my turtle tank to keep the chill out of the water. works great, my turtle stays warm and my tank at the correct temp. I would buy this product again and recommed to friends.

Want Tetra Aquatic Reptile Heater, 100 Watt Discount?

It worked for 3 weeks, then just stopped. I called the TetraFauna people to ask for a refund and the guy told me that I needed to buy a bigger heaterit is not strong enough for a 30 gallon tank unless your room temp is 72F. So this only heats the water from 72F room temp to 78F. 6 degrees is all shes got. After that it just dies, apparantly.

I've read other reviews off of amazon and this has horrible reviews-look elsewhere for a good tank heater.

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Parallel 2.5 Gallon Designer Glass Aquarium - Black

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Parallel 2.5 Gallon Designer Glass Aquarium - BlackI bought this from wal-mart cause it was cheaper and was a very cool and easy tank meaning I found both a hang on back filter and one that suctions on the glass and a heater worked great to but I do have to leave the water low cause of it open top but I like it and my betta loves all the space for breathing. Don't believe the photo Goldfish NEED at the very least a 20 gallon and must upgrade people the picture is at a photo shoot and those Goldfish where only in this tank for a few minutes.

PROS: Very Nice Look,Very Small Would Fit On A Desk, It Is Glass,Easy To Clean

CONS:It Is Kind Of Heavy But A Good Sign,I Only Saw A Red,It Had A Dent In The Metal,It Had A Small Chip In The Top Of The Glass.

Keep in mind I didn't buy the tank directly from seller or maker so anything mentioned in cons could be from poor handling on wal-marts part but I did get mine for 10 dollars less.

Hydor H2Show Magic World - Left Owl Decoration 13"x7"x3.5"

Hydor H2Show Magic World - Left Owl Decoration 13'x7'x3.5'It's beautifully made but has a few flaws. The back is hollow so if it pulls away from the tank wall, fish are tempted to go behind it and get stuck. The fact that it's top heavy and naturally leans towards the owl side means that you'll need to either bury the base into the gravel or silicone the piece to the tank wall. A wider, heavier base would've remedied that. Finally, unless you have a tall tank, the piece will need to be trimmed at either the top, bottom, or both ends in order to clear the tank lid, but if your tank is very tall, you might be able to see the unfinished top of the piece. If you don't mind a little work to get this setup well, it's a decent value.

AL-H18DS: Finnex RAY II High Output Unibody Ultra Slim LED Fixture - 18" Daylight

AL-H18DS: Finnex RAY II High Output Unibody Ultra Slim LED Fixture - 18' DaylightGreat lights for a small planted freshwater tank. Saves electricity costs and does not create a lot of heat. Needs to be a bit longer for the provided clamps to fit a standard 10 gal tank.

Purchased For a 10 gal 17 1/2 inch long Glass Tank.

I think it is made better than my Archea LED lights (that were a bit

too short to use with this tank), in that this seems to have a better seal

so water from filter that splashes does not get on the inside of the plastic where the lights are.

I have had trouble with water getting into one of my Archea LED that was too close to the

hang on back filter.

I would recommend this brand.

It has a double row of bright lights that are a bit brighter than

my Archea LED lights also.

THANKS for reading.

S5 CO2 Diffuser Aquarium Glass Carbon Dioxide Reactor

S5 CO2 Diffuser Aquarium Glass Carbon Dioxide Reactori bought this thinking that it will help increase the surface area for my co2 system by making smaller bubbles. however, the pressure created by a DIY co2 system is not strong enough to push through the stone on top of the diffuser. if you had a co2 canister which already has pressure in it, like the ones made by fluval, then this diffuser would be ideal. howver my system doesnt. so all the air just ends up trapped in the co2 bottle. this is a great product, just not for my aquarium

PROS:

Under pressurized CO2, these are cool! The bubbles spin around the spiral, then stream out the top. My angel fish like to stare at it.

CONS:

Under low-pressure DIY bottle system, this diffuser is kind of worthless. It makes a single stream.

You need a strong tube. There's a lot of pressure built up to get this to work. I think its the spiral that requires the extra pressure.

Under high-pressure CO2 tanks, this look much nicer. The bubbles are still kind of large compared to the Fluval ceramic disk co-88 bubbles.

I've broken 2 of my 3 already. These diffusers are heavy so you need to put some airline tubing suction cups on them. Good luck. Depending on how the glass melted, there may or may not be room to slide one on.

Disappointed.

Works ok with my pressurized co2 system but had a small hole near the bottom of the spiral. This makes the spiral useless.. You get what you pay for.

OK so I got this today and hooked it up, And the spiral glass tubing on the inside has a little hole in it so that part of it doesn't work.

It puts out the bubble like it would normally but the bubble counter aspect of it is shot to death.. I'm glad it was cheap because I won't be buying another one of these, you get what you pay for...

Want S5 CO2 Diffuser Aquarium Glass Carbon Dioxide Reactor Discount?

You will need a suction cup.

Seems good so far. May eliminate need for a bubble counter.

Good luck fish people. CO2 is not a greenhouse gas.
