Almost as effective as a diatom filter and much, much easier to use. None of the messy and time consuming diatomaceous earth filtering medium changes. Combined with occasional diatom filter use keeps water crystal clear.

Since starting to use this product my fish are more active and the water stays clearer, and apparently healthier. I give this my highest recommendation. Everyone should have one.

These are great! They attach to a (sold separately) filter that you can attach to a powerhead. Cloudy water is cleared in an hour! However, they do get dirty pretty quick and need replacement often. In my opinion, it's a small price to pay for crystal clear beautiful water.

Since these Bags on Board Cat Scoop Refills were offered at a ridiculously low price, I decided to take a chance that they would fit my doggie bag holders and they do fit both models I currently use! I planned to tie a roll onto the leash with a rope if they didn't fit, but no need. The bags are less stiff, thinner, are a prettier blue than the orange ones they've replaced, and I only wish I'd stocked up on more when the price was great. Because the bags are thinner, they are easier to maneuver, weigh less and take less time to degrade in the landfill where they will spend some time. I've never bought replacement rolls because it was too easy to use newspaper bags and deflated air pillows, but these are so much easier to carry and less distasteful for disposal. They are the same size as the dog bags and for the life of me, I can't imagine how a lot of heavy litter can fit in this bag. If you use it for a single scoop or two of just what needs to immediately be removed as I believe it is marketed, I can see how it would work well. These are not for emptying an entire tray of litter. Because these are really lightweight, they are perfect for the dog walking purpose. Usually using two bags per day, these will go quickly and I hope Amazon soon reduces the price to entice more of us dog lovers to take advantage of a product that's marketed to cat owners but is imprinted with pictures of little doggies.

I bought this to use with the dispenser for dogs. I don't know why this is only advertised as being able to be used with the cat scoop, it's almost half the price of the bags advertised for dogs!

I bought the scoop and bags mostly for the bags being earth friendly. The bags are too small, sure they fit the scoop, but my cat pees all in one corner so the clump can get huge. Therefore won't fit in this narrow bag just wide enough for the scoop itself.

The scoop itself is ok, but I still have my old scoop and I prefer it because the litter flows throw my old scoop better than this one.

Bottom line: if you have a cat that makes just small to mediuim sized clumps, then this product might be ok. I personally find no value in having the bags inside the hande of the scoop. In fact I think the feel of the scoop is cumbresone.

I like that these litter bags are a green product and will break down in the landfill. My only dislike is the bags are narrow in size. I use a bag lined coffee can to collect the soiled litter in. With two cats I have to scoop at least once, sometimes twice, a day. When it's full, I pull the bag and dispose in the garbage. These bags aren't wide enough to secure over the container. Otherwise, they are great.

This is a great travel cage very light weight and easy to fold and store when not in use. It folds almost flat so we can store it in the vehicle handy whenever we need it. Mac is a 45 lb English Setter and we have always cage crated him in our van when driving.

Our large cage is perfect but he has a tendency to lick the metal grates even if we spray some Bitter Apple on them.

The "Its a breeze fabric tent crate" is large, easy to assemble and he can't lick the sides.

It stands up to a little weight being put on it and is very cool and open to air flow.

The sand color is nice but it is going to get dirty. We might consider getting the green and black version

Purple stuff is soooo hard to get to develop in your tank, but this stuff helps it along a lot quicker. I love this stuff, couldn't have a purdy tank without it!

This or purple up, seem to do the same thing. You can achieve the same with patience and time in a stable system with proper cal and alk levels, or you can speed it up a bit with this stuff. I think it's worth using a supplement. Remember you need the coralline first, before this can help it spread. I would recommend it though.

Tetra 77855 Whisper Air Pump, 100-Gallon

I have a 95 gallon tank and have went through several of these whisper 100's to power multiple airstones. At first it blows very strong air through both outlets. Over time one or both of the outlets stops blowing air, or blows it so weakly that a bubble or 2 might come out of the airstone. These are made so cheaply and I am about to complain to the company. I have went through 4 in the last year. I guess the diaphrams over time just conk out. I am awaiting a few rena 400 pumps and hope they are more reliable.

I have a 55 gallon aquarium but it is deep, so I needed a powerful air pump replacement when my unit failed. I got overnight shipping on this, because my fish could not wait. When I took it out of the box and hooked it in, it was VERY loud-but it had good aeration. On the second day, there was no output from one of the ports; and on the morning of the third day there was no output at all. But it had finally gotten quiet!! I placed another overnight order and got my original brand of pump and have had no problems. The whisper pump will not be recommended by me to anyone. The box was well packed and undamaged, so obviously the QA at the factory was not completed.

I have 10 of these running sponge filters in my fish store. If you restrict these pumps in anyway, such as using a valve, the diaphragms will rupture. If you run them wide open they last for years. You can wreck one in minutes by simply turning a valve off. The cheep diaphragms can't handle any back pressure. I'm guessing the Chinese never tested them that way and went ahead and made 1,000,000 to sell in the US.

Good pump if don't restrict it.

I purchased the Whisper 100 about three weeks ago to drive both tubes on an undergravel filter in a 30 gal tank. I was replacing a Whisper 40 that wasn't able to drive two tubes. The 100 was noticeably louder than the 40, but still OK in my living room. You could tell it was there, but you could tune it out. Until a couple of days ago. The whisper turned into a rattling hum on the left side. Adjusting the airflow made no difference. I had to disconnect the tube. That did the trick, until today when the right side started going south. So I unplugged it and now have two separate pumps (a whisper 40 and some other tiny one I got at Walmart) running the two tubes. Both of them together are quieter than the 100 was when it first came out of the box.

I give it a 2 instead of a 1, because I could probably send it in and get it fixed, but at this price it's just not worth the trouble.

There is a previous review on this item referencing a loss during shipping. The product itself is in ok shape, but the packaging was severely damaged and there are small glass shards at the bottom of the shipping 'bag' like some of the marbles have chipped. While it does clear up green water, I thought it helped prevent disease. All promotional material says: "Prices for these replacement bulbs are very affordable." This is misleading to me, since the yearly cost of running the UV bulb 24/7, and if it lasts only 3 months, can be about $90. I got my replacement bulb from The Umbrella Group who is a very reputable reseller, but I think they may have originally gotten some incorrect info from the mfr?

I have had the Green Killing Machine for over a year now (in a salt and fresh tank) and I love it! I originally bought it for my 36 gallon fresh tank when it was going through a horrible case of algae bloom. It had that thing clean in 7 days (it was a TON of algae) even after chemicals and 0 light for a week couldn't do it. I have since used it in my 36 gallon salt water tank it works great!

The only thing I don't care for about it is the odd/awkward/ugly design... but if that is what it takes to make it work.. *shrug*

I bought two of these for my two Discus tanks from my local shop.The original bulbs lasted about 4 months.My local shop did not have the replacements,so I came to AMAZON.COM.All is good so far right? I bought the Green Machine and knew right away it was working great. Then it stopped working so I bought this replacement bulb. Well, it's been over two months and I'm stumped as to whether it's working or not. My water is still cloudy (off and on) and the blue filters don't seem to be catching anything. There is no indicator light (at least on mine) that I can see that shows me whether the device is working and frankly, I can't even decide if I like it. I'm kind of bummed because I was looking forward to this doing as great a job as the original part did, but again, I just can't tell. I'd hate to have to shell out for a whole other UV machine, but frankly, I'd rather do that then keep paying money for a unit I don't even know is working!

I bought this unit at the local pet store. I needed algae control in an outdoor top-less 45 g fancy goldfish tank (in FL). It was the cheapest one I could find. It did clear my water, but seems much less effective now, 9 months later. Flow rate is very low, but I guess a low flow rate helps this weak 9 W unit to be effective.

I have not been able to get the light unit apart to inspect the bulb and chamber, so a replacement bulb might be kind of moot. It looks like a lot of people have not had good luck with replacement bulbs, so I am going to consider this a disposable unit that is dead.

One thing I have noticed with replacing UV bulbs in other units (Coral Life TurboTwist and Custom units), is that you do need to be very careful not to touch the bulb itself with your fingers. Something about the oils from your fingers damaging the bulb coating. All of the replacement bulbs have warnings about this. I did not take this seriously at first, but find that I get MUCH better replacement bulb life if I am super-careful and do not handle the bulb directly.

Excellent product. The only downside(s) are; 1. It's a little difficult (not impossible) to get the heater positioned so you can see the "on" light. 2. I wasn't able to set the red indicator to the existing temperature when calibrating. 3. When you adjust the temperature, you have to remove the heater and hold on fairly tightly to adjust the blue control. I would recommend the company either supply a holding tool, or somehow make the adjustment system more user friendly.

Well I read every review and saw there were complaints about the light but I was too impressed by the sparkly LED lights to noy hit my 2 day one click shipping.....low and behold the white light stopped working yesterday. Ive had it 3 weeks, I believe if I had not filled all the way to the top this may not have happened. The lights are splashed with the water from the air bubbler. I am going to contact the company and see how hard the replacement will be. I still like the little guy and keep my smaller fry in there safe from becoming food and I think it is a great deal for the price. Someone said it was flimsy when carrying it full of water to clean....uh....you never move a tank with water in it unless you want a mess, you siphon out the water first and then clean and put back together or just do the 20% change each week. Squeaky Bones Rubber Toy

I have had one of the Four Paws toys for a year that is very durable. So durable it is nearly impossible to squeak and really not that appealing to my dog. It is the large ball with the two hands doing a thumbs up. Very thick rubber on it.

Figured I would give something a bit easier to squeeze a try and the bone looked like a good option. I actually spent more time checking out toys than it took him to damage this. He pierced the plastic of the squeaker within a few seconds of chewing on the end of the bone. Luckily he is still enjoying a good chew on the durable rubber but it is time for these companies to find a way to protect the squeaker better. Oh well. I did see a Kong product with a squeaker that was completely protected so I will probably try something like that next. It was a long tube that was clear blue. Worth checking out if you have a dog that will do more than just squeak in the middle of this toy.

For dogs with a large mouth the large ball will be better choice IMO. The search for the perfect toy continues.

Sorry, but I have to give this dog toy only 3 stars, as the day I got it, its really hard to squeak, and my little dog doesn't like it if it doesn't. Not worth sending it back! Too bad, its really cute. Defective squeaker I guess.

Nutrafin Cycle Biological Filter Supplement

This product works amazingly well for being a 'quick fix' for cycling, but make sure you SHAKE the bottle... shake it, shake it, shake it.

Day 1 you'll (shake the dickens out of it) dump in a ton of the stuff as directed, by day 2 I've seen the ammonia spike that signifies the beginning of cycling. Day 3 it says you're done... and you have cycled the aquarium... ammonia and nitrite drop to zero and nitrate is at a safe level (under 5 ppm) by day 4 in my experience, but when you add fish, don't be surprised if you see a 'mini-cycle' where the ammonia and nitrite spike a bit. The tank and fish are fine but consult a forum or fish store if you're worried. One review on here stated they tried replacing all of their water to fix an algae problem?... not what this product is for. This runs through the 1-4 week process of initially cycling the tank within 3 days, doesn't make it impossible to make mistakes.

I will say I have some reservations about the "immediate stocking" part... I would suggest setting the aquarium up, pop an aquatic plant in there and maybe a pinch of fish flake (for some organic matter to break down) and use Cycle for the 3 days, THEN introduce fish SLOWLY, just a couple at a time if they're small, for bigger fish like cichlids, only one at a time... unless you have a very well established tank, dunking a bunch of fish will spike ammonia to really dangerous levels and might kill all of your fish. This being said, I have thrown 3, 2" fish into a 10 gallon tank of treated water, added Cycle, and it did work... it just isn't exactly humane, as the cycling can be hard on the fish's gills, slime coat, etc. This was about 2 months ago and all of those fish are still fine.

API Stress Zyme8 OZ. is another version of this product, but does it over the course of 2 weeks. I've used it as well and it seems to do the job well also, so if 3 days sounds too good to be true (though somehow it is true), you may want to give it a try (I've used Cycle and Stress Zyme together in factdidn't change anything, Cycle did a 3 day cycle and Stress Zyme caused it to cycle again so I wouldn't recommend mixing them.

Essentially, despite what so many fish fans say, this stuff does work... but only if you shake the heck out of the bottle (it stirs up the bacteria). I have used it, currently use it, and will continue to use it both for setting up new tanks and keeping the beneficial bacteria level up in my established tanks (I have 4, 3 fresh, 1 salt). Follow the directions and remember to SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE that bottle!

I had tried a competing product, by Tetra, and did not have good results. Ammonia stayed high, algae bloomed, fish died. Went to my local fish store and the kind lady suggested this. So glad she did. Within days I had ammonia dropping, nitrite rising, then dropping and nitrate rising. My tank was cycled in three days. I was able to add more fish a couple days later and didn't have a spike of ammonia.

I remember the old days of having to wait a month, or more, for a new tank to cycle. This is so much better, and more humane for the fish, too. I recommend this Nutrafin Cycle!

I setup a brand new 75g, let it run for 2-3 days before I went an bought 2 jaguars(3"). Before I left out to go get the jags I shook the Nutrafin cycle bottle for 2mins (arm was super tired) and added the first treatment. I followed the directions on the back to a T and I never had a problem. It's been about a month now and everything is still going well, I just add Nutrafin cycle once a week and with water changes. I'm very new to keeping aquatic pets, but after over a month after starting, my fish, shrimp, snail and plants are healthy and the tank is stable

I got a 5 gallon acrylic tank kit with some substrate and a rock and started dosing with Cycle from day 1. After a day or two, I bought some marimo moss and a couple of red shrimp from a local shop and added them into my new tank. Within a week, after doing partial water changes every other day, it seemed like my tank finished cycling with trace amounts of ammonia, no detectable nitrites and a build up of nitrates.

Now it seems that without any cycling product, it typically takes about a month to fully cycle a new aquarium. It took me a week with Cycle and no algae bloom!

I do add a little bit of Cycle in after doing water changes, but only because I have so much left (I think I bought the 16 oz bottle) and its shelf life is relatively short due to live bacteria inside. I don't think it's necessary, but I did recently buy a new filter and it certainly didn't hurt.

I ordered this castle to put in my 50 gallon tank that at the time held a Spotted Pleco, Pepper Cory and a few Glo Fish. When I received the castle it looked great, there were some sharp edges on the outside that I just sanded down until I was happy with them, washed the deco and put it in the tank. Within hours of putting the castle in my tank I noticed a lot of little pieces of plaster floating around, I just scooped those out and didn't think much of it. But then a few days later I started seeing large pieces of both the inside and outside of the castle floating around. I also started to realize just how cloudy my water had gotten since putting it in.

After having this castle for about 4-5 days I decided I wanted to return it because the waterfall was beginning to break off, so I contacted their Customer Service. The representative then proceeded to ignore my request for a return and tell me about how that sort of thing (their product falling apart) can happen and they use products that should be fine for fish to digest and I shouldn't worry about my fish getting cut up on the sharp edges. She also asked me to send along some pictures of what was happening. So I did.

About 3 or so days later she responded saying that she didn't see a problem. I then messaged her back saying that I don't appreciate how casual she was being about this product that I paid $50 for breaking to pieces and that I wanted a refund. She then proceeded to tell me that if I had wanted a refund I should have done it within 7 days of purchase, which I COULD have had it returned in if not for her giving me the run around.

Now I have a $50 piece of crap sitting on the table next to my fish tank.

So, in short; horrible product, and bad customer service. I'll never be buying from here again.

It was a bit smaller than I expected. I couldn't even fit inside the front door and I'm actually a wizard.

Simple Solution Washable Cover-Ups, Small, Pink/Purple (Pack of 2)

Our toy poodle has 17 1/2 years of experience in being a puppy. As a result of her age, she is having more pee-pee accidents lately, while her people are at work. I purchased this 2-pack of cover-ups, size Small. We use Carefree panty shields as an absorbent liner, and this system works wonderfully well. For size small, a regular maxi-pad would be way too long; the panty shield provides perfect coverage of the panties. I'm sure a regular maxi would be more appropriate in larger sizes.

These panties require putting Brandy's tail through the opening, then pulling the sides up from her belly and attaching the two velcro tabs on her back.

Brandy doesn't seem to mind wearing her cover-ups after we get them on, so they must be pretty comfy, but some days she is less than cooperative in letting me put her tail into the opening. But since she has hip displasia & some arthritis, this is often easier than if we had to put her hind legs into openings. I also have to be careful and check the fit carefully when I get the cover-ups on, as it is easy (with all her fur) to bind her leg joint. But if I pay attention, and check her when I get them fastened, it is easy & quick to make any needed adjustments.

Size info: Brandy weighs about 6 3/4 pounds, and has a small waist. I ordered Small based on previous reviews (especially the reviews on the XS ordering page), and they fit perfectly. Ordering one size up worked for us. The available velcro area is fairly wide, so any given size will have lots of lee-way in fit.

These panties are very effective for pee-pee accidents, but definitely, the cover-up product is only for little girl dogs; boy dogs should use a wrap. I can't speak to the product's effectiveness for poop accidents, as that has not been tested at our house, thankfully. They would also work extremely well for when a little girl is in heat.

I generally hand wash the soiled cover-ups in the bathroom sink. But they take several hours to air-dry. I did put one pair in the washing machine & dryer (in a mesh lingerie bag), with success, though they picked up some lint in that process, but it wasn't bad. I will certainly machine wash again in the future. Be advised that the purple color does run the first few times it is washed, so sort accordingly.

We also have Petego Hot Pants for the same purpose Petego Hot Pants Dog Panties, Small, 10 Inches. The Petego Hot Pants are definitely cuter, though both products work well. Petego Hot Pants require putting her hind legs into openings to get them on.

I purchased these diapers for incontinence for my older dog. Size small fits a 5 lb maltese. They are adjustable which is really nice. If using for urination problems, you must use a disposable pad (I use Tena incontinence pads and cut them in half)or for lighter accidents you can use a feminine napkin cut in half. These diapers wash nicely and the velcro is strong and will last for a long time. I have six of these diapers and love them and highly recommend them. They are soft for her skin and wrap around her nicely so they don't slip off like the disposable diapers.

I was disappointed with these for two reasons. The old diapers were made of denim, lined with cotton. They were sturdy, held their shape for inserting pads, and covered the "crotch" area well. The new ones are made of polyester, are flimsy and don't cover as well.

Secondly, these are smaller than the original denim diapers. I bought the same size and they didn't fit nearly as well.

I suppose the new fabrics are cheaper to use, but the old denim was of much better quality.

I have 4 dogs, 2 with bladder control issues. One dog has 3 of the denim (old style) washable diapers, they are great and work wonders just they are 1 for about 17 bucks. I can almost agree with that price after buying these for my other dog.

The main points where the product is no longer as great would be with absorbancy. I now have to use a pad no matter what in the covers, they wash and dry much faster but I was not out to do more laundry. The colours are great and vibrant and now after about 6 washes the colour is still vibrant. Just these weren't exactly bought for fashion and style. They do fit the same as the old ones, so sizing was not greatly affected. Of course they still run small though. My sheltie wears a medium and my pom wears a small. If I went by the pack sizes both dog would be a size down respectively.

If you don't mind having to use a pad all the time and you are not as forgetful as some these are great. If you forget at points search out the denim ones, they may be cost more per diaper but so much better in over all absorbancy and just worth it.

One thing, just make sure to measure your dog and go up if her midsection is right on or close to the larger end of the cover. I honestly would not go by the breed sizing guide at all if another one of my dogs needed diapers. Hopefully none of the girls will though. Luckily though if it happens I now know my options in full, denim for bad incontinence and these for light leaks.

I have only used these for incontinence and not for heat issues. My review is strictly about use for incontinence.

EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 150W

After my Marineland Stealth Aquarium water heater literally exploded in the tank due to a defect (never received recall notice issued back in April 2011), I purchased this as my second option primarily because my first option cost $90+ (for a titanium model with electronic chip). Fortunately, the aquarium tank glass did not crack and we didn't lose any fish due to the Marineland Stealth Aquarium water heater exploding.

This is one of the few remaining aquarium heaters on the market still made in Germany and not coming from elsewhere.

1. It works efficiently and accurately as it should, keeps the temperature within range constantly for worry free use.

2. Is elegant and beautiful.

3. Indicator light allows for a quick walk by scan for added worry free use.

4. Temperature control is easy to use and easy to read.

I only bought Marineland Stealth heaters before this one, and am glad I tried it. The Jager is more conspicuous than the Stealth, but I believe it is made to a higher quality. One of my Stealths broke, and another was recalled, so I decided to move on. The Jager is my favorite so far. I would have tried the Fluval heater with the microprocessor, but it was considerably more expensive. Overall, the Eheim looks good, has an orange indicator light that lets you know its on, is fully submersible, and can be calibrated if it becomes inaccurate. The suction cups stick rather well and the suction cup holder is actually pretty nice. Also something that led to get this one is that it heats more water per watt than other heaters, which saves power (the 150W will heat 75gal where I believe you would need 200W of another heater). Recommend and would buy again

**UPDATE 1-14-12: Faulty thermostat and bad customer service!

Okay so I originally thought this heater was great right? (Original review in Nov 2011) I used this product for several weeks after my initial review until I saw that my Fluval G filter was telling me that my water was getting too hot (84-ish degrees). I tested what the filter registered by using two other thermometers and they all read the same (so I knew it wasn't a thermometer issue). What could be happening? I then realized that I've always seen the orange indicator light of the Jager on, never off. Sooo, it just keeps heating even after reaching set temp. I tried the calibration. Did not help. Then I put 110F water in a bucket, put in the Jager and plugged it in. The orange light still came on! Amazon warranty was expired by this point, but Eheim offers a 3-yr warranty on the heater.

I contacted Eheim North America by email/comment on their site. They apparently have no phone number so you have to write them, which blows. Okay so I got a quick reply (the next day!) which I was happy about that just said to email them my proof of purchase and a shipping address so I did that the same day. This was on Dec 23 2011 and I have yet to hear back. I have since contacted them again weeks ago to see what the problem was and still no answer. A 3-yr warranty on the Jager is great, but if no one answers you it might as well be a 3 second warranty!!

TIP: Other people seem to love this heater but I have had a 100% failure rate (1/1). **MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT THE THERMOSTAT WORKS ON THIS WITHIN 30 DAYS SO YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AMAZON'S WARRANTY! You do not want to try to talk to Eheim Tech Support!

I cannot find their phone number, has anyone found it?

I'm still willing to give Eheim a shot, and will actually probably order another one of these. I'll also try contacting them again. Also, I will update again if I ever get a reply, otherwise, as much as this heater looks good, heats well, and has awesome temp dial and calibration, the thermostat is too important of a part for me to give this anything more than a 1 star rating. I hope you all have better luck.

I bought this heater about 6 months ago, and it does what it's supposed to do... Keeps a constant temperature in my tank, and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. It's easy to set because the dial actually has numbers on it 80, 78, 76, etc, as opposed to just High and Low.

Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy Hinge Large 1 in. x 36 in. (3/16 in. thick)- Black

I have used the competitor's hinge material for years with very few problems. This hinge is obviously made of a different material. After only a few weeks, the heat from my power compact light distorted the plastic so badly it would no longer stay on the glass. I have never had that problem with my previous hinges and have changed nothing with my setup.

What can I say it works as it should. Couldn't find this item at any of the local pet stores. It's fairly difficult getting the glass panels fitted into the hinge, but that's to be expected. If they slid in too easily, they would also slide out too easily. At worst, you can try a little soap along the edge of the glass so it slides in easier, just be sure to rinse the soap off thoroughly. And please, for you own safety, go to a glass shop and order TEMPERED glass of the correct thickness to fit the hinge.
