This is a great tool to have if you have an aquarium. I have used all three attachements many times. I usually buy the glass and acrylic scrubbing pads seperately and attach them to the velcro-like scrubber head, even though I dont think it is designed to be used this way, because I can always replace the pads, and I wouldn't want to have to buy this tool again. I use it all the time, but it still only gets 3 stars because the price is really high. So, if you have money to blow, you'll probably want this for your aquarium.

Seachem Laboratories Clarity - 500mL

I was battling cloudy water for a couple of months. I tried EVERTHING. It wasnt until I read about addin polishing pads media to my fluval filter that I saw some change in clarity. I have used Seachem stability and that is a GREAT PRODUCT. I was hesitant to try Seachem clarity as I figured it might hurt my fish. I added 2 caps of clarity to my 35 gallon freshwater tank and withing 2 hours it was crystal clear! Fish are alive and well! I highly reccomend. Seachem products are excellent!

I used this product and it nearly killed our Red Blood Parrot Fish.

The clumping worked as described, however the clumps got caught in the gills of our 6 inch Red Blood. I spent several hours including purchasing a new heavy duty Rena Xp3 Filter to finally remove Seachem Clarity out of the tank. $140 the tank is clean.

I called Seachem and left several urgent messages today and they did not return the call.

Lucking he survived due to several hours of TLC on our part.

I have been battling a cloudy tank for 3 months. It has particles and some green in the water. I can't see the fish in the back of the tank or if I look from the side. I tried doing both more frequent and infrequent H2O changes. I tried an algae fix and an algae destroyer, I tried these really good polyfilter pads that usually clear anything, I tried accurel-F and something else like that, nothing worked at all. Then I went to my PetSmart store and young guy suggested the Seachem clarity. He actually advised me not to also purchase an algae remedy, he didn't want me to spend money if I didn't have to.

this product cleared up my 37 gallon tank in 6 hours. I read somewhere, that you had to wash play sand before putting it in your aquarium. what i didn't understand was that you had to wash it 10x, not just once. For 3 days, i left the filter on hoping it would suck up anything that wouldn't settle to the bottom itself. There was no change.

Leaves a little red glimmer and the lights are in glass tubes becareful when handling I already broke one. Other than that better alternative to expensive marineland. Not sure if they will work with high light plants

This is a great product. The only problem i had was in ordering it. The product is almost always under review for not being as advertised. The package has a picture of the entire fixture, but based on the product description and the price no one should be confused. This is a bulb! The daylight bulb, included with the light fixture, on its own is very white. Colors looked a little washed out until I added this bulb. It is the perfect compliment for the daylight bulb.

This fit perfectly!! couldn't have asked for a better product! The only thing wrong was one of the handles seemed to be broken or irregular, but it still works just fine for me. All in all, very happy with the purchase!

It fits on our 125 gallon (technically 117gal. I think) tank. We needed it to keep the water from splashing up onto the lights. The only thing I wish it had was some kind of cushion under the edge or corners on the side with the handle. I am a little nervous the glass would break if the lid accidentally slipped and closed with force. What I did to ease my fear was put cushioned double sided tape (leaving the backing on one side) I had on the front corners. But of course they need to be replaced every so often when they get loose from getting wet.

FYI Our tank is 72 1/2" from end to end. I wasn't sure these would fit before I bought them, but took the chance and it paid off.

JAGER AQUARIUM HEATER 12" 125 WATT

Excellent product. The only downside(s) are; 1. It's a little difficult (not impossible) to get the heater positioned so you can see the "on" light. 2. I wasn't able to set the red indicator to the existing temperature when calibrating. 3. When you adjust the temperature, you have to remove the heater and hold on fairly tightly to adjust the blue control. I would recommend the company either supply a holding tool, or somehow make the adjustment system more user friendly.

This is the best one gallon aquarium I have ever owned. And I have owned many. It is very light because it's acrylic and is also easy to clean. The led lights are powered by electricity with an adaptor that is included. This way you don't run off batteries to operate the led lights. These led lights show off the glow fish better than the professional aquariums at the store. The glow fish light up so much they look like they have florescent bulbs inside their bodies. Matter of fact, I am ordering a second globe bowl led light aquarium for another room. The bowl is clear, not black. I'm not sure why it is shown as a black fish bowl.

WARNING: UPDATE: 3 WEEKS LATER:

I have purchased in total, three of these aquariums. And All three aquariums within 3 weeks have clouded up permanently on the inside of the bowl, beginning at the water line, and spreading through out the bowl. I am unable to view the fish when they swim at the upper level of the bowl. I only rinse the bowl out with warm water. No abrasives are used in cleaning the acrylic. I can actually feel the coating of the acrylic on the inside of the bowl has deteriorated where it is cloudy. I do not recommend this bowl at all.

There are 4 or 5 different light settings for this fishbowl, and I normally only use the LED white light. I put my betta in here, and he loves it! It's much larger than his old bowl and so far I've had no problems with it. It's easy to clean, easy to assemble and it really looks nice.

I'm not sure if it says anywhere on here, but this bowl is plastic. I was hoping for glass, but it's much lighter to carry with water in it, and still looks nice.

I wanted a bowl for my betta fish that had a light and a lid, but no filter. This one was perfect! I only turn the light on once every other day, but after a couple of months, the "first" light the white one burned out. The others are still working fine, though. I love that there is a small hole for feeding my fish, but enough protection on top of the bowl so that my kitties can't get in it. I also like that it's lightweight for carrying, yet not too flimsy. Very pleased with this!!

EDITED::::: I have to change this review because I've owned the 1.5 gallon version of this exact bowl since this past summer. Although my betta was happy in this bowl, it did not last more than 6 months. Despite being easy to maintain and easy to clean, the bowl itself is plastic. About 3 weeks ago I noticed the plastic started to become cloudy. I thought it was just algae so I emptied and cleaned it but could not scrub it clear again. It got worse over the following weeks despite water changes and today I took it and emptied it again and tried cleaning with a variety of things to make it clear again white vinegar, a baking soda paste, rubbing alcohol none of that worked. The bowl is so cloudy that you can barely see through it anymore. I've also noticed in the last week that the green bulbs have burned out, limiting my lighting options. For a bowl that is only 6 months old this is a very short life span. I had said that if my bulbs burned out I'd just purchase another bowl, but instead I picked up a nice, 1.75 gallon GLASS fish bowl at the pet store. Luckily the opening of that bowl will fit this lid so I'm keeping the lid until the rest of the bulbs burn out and then I'm going to purchase a clip on LED light. I'm done with these kits. Not worth it.

I own the 1.5 gallon version of this exact bowl. I had my beta in a larger full service tank, but it was just too much upkeep and he didn't seem to like it all that much. I bought this one and he's been living in it for about 5 months now and seems as happy as can be. It's easy to maintain and easy to clean. The bowl itself is plastic and I was afraid it would scratch or stain, but it's still as clear as the day I got it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the lid doesn't give room to put anything with a cord down inside, because there is no room for the cord through the lid. I had my beta in there with no heater, which he had in his tank, and he didn't move for weeks. So one day I got out my power drill and created a little opening in the lid for the cord to my underwater heater, and it has made a huge difference. Now he swims around and is a whole lot more active. So if you're going to use this bowl for a beta, I definitely recommend you get a little creative and find a way to get a heater in there. The lights are my favorite part of this bowl. It illuminates the bowl and my beta's fins so nicely, it's a really nice eye catcher and visitors are always commenting on my cool little beta bowl. I worry that the lights will burn out one day and I won't be able to find replacements, but I like the bowl enough that I will probably just purchase another in that case.

I have had this for about a month and it is just perfect on my nightstand. I do have it sitting on a couple of my favorite books so I can see into it better. I watch my little beta every night! We bought the Aqueon LED Aquarium hood and were instantly impressed with the quality of the light. However, it was a very blue or white light. The warmth of our previous hood just wasn't there. I ordered one Colormax bulb with the hope that the red mixed with the other would be the perfect coloring. As desired, it looks great. There is just enough red to warm up the aquarium.

I have noticed that we get more algae growth on this aquarium cover than we did with the previous hood, however. I didn't notice it before adding the Colormax bulb so I'm thinking it may be due to the red LEDs.

I do not see a difference adding this light bulb to the existing day light bulb that was already in the hood. Maybe I have the wrong type of fish and will see it in other fish when I add them.

Fluval U4 Underwater Filter Poly/Carbon

This product, along with the actual filter, are great products. I have two turtles that can make quite a mess, but this filter cleans the water extremely well.

I use the U4 along with Fluval's hangon tank filter in a 55g for water turtles. They together keep the tank ok and cheaper right now than the FX I want. But this is short term solution and they filters are at opposite ends of tank to push together dirty water.

SO while this works, I wouldn't recommend others do it if they can afford the FX series for water turtles. This is best for fish, and haven't had any problems with my feeder fish getting into this filter.

*Change out only one side(there are 2) at a time to keep the good biological bacteria.

I am very satisfied with this product. It is lighter weight than gravel and plant substrates like flourite. Also, it is a softer material as it can be crushed with moderate pressure in your hand. However, plants grow healthy with strong beautiful white roots. I've used at least 4 of the leading substrates in the planted tank hobby and this was the best one so far. One thing I learned was do not rinse and fill your tank slowly.

At first glance, the kit is very helpful, providing everything in one box (minus the fish): an aquarium, silk plant, filter, food, water conditioner, and even gravel. However, the filter is a pathetic excuse of machinery that doesn't do it's job. It doesn't come with an air pump so the fish will start going up for air and will probably die in a few hours of being placed in the habitat. The gravel is cheap plastic coated things that could do harm to the fish when the smaller pieces float up. So the only good thing about it is that it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye -if dead floating fish is fine with you.

Pros:

Quiet: I hear my air pump (which I consider to be very quiet) over the sound of this water pump.

Efficient: I am running this pump at 9' of head pressure and my kill-o-watt shows that it's drawing 155 watts. I believe it is pushing around 2,000 Gallons Per Hour at this head height.

Price: I bought 2 of these a few months ago for $200 each (looks like prices have gone up to $220 as of this review). Even at $220, this is still cheaper than pumps that have similar specs (PondMaster Pro Hy-Drive or Sicce Syncra HF).

No Seals: Unlike direct drive centrifugal (external pumps) you don't have to worry about seals failing with this pump.

Quality: The pump feels and looks to be well made.

Cons:

The "fast coupling" attachment is a bit cumbersome to use.

I had a heck of a time trying to get my 1.5" hose onto the barbed fitting.

Using the Laguna Max Flo 4200 and a Laguna Max Flo 2400 for my 300 gallon aquarium with a 125 sump. The aquarium is in my office and the pumps are extremely quiet. I used flexible hose to connect them to the plumbing. No vibration, no sound. At 5' of head, I'm assuming I'm getting 3,000 gph from the 4200.

Laguna is a brand in pumps I have worked with for quite some years now. The new "cage" style pumps are indeed nice in regard to handling solid waste appropriately in your pond meaning the pumps do well at not getting clogged up by debris. These pumps are also powerful and use less electricity to move water than most other push pumps do. However, finding the appropriate fittings (such as quick connects) is an inconvenience because one: they are hard to find, and two: it is very difficult to know what "size" you really need for hose size adaptation, etc. once you do locate them. Also, in many applications I have found getting hosing onto the fittings to be a real bear as a lot of heat or Vasoline is needed to complete this tight task! Nevertheless, it's your choice. If you want to try Laguna brand pumps, order them easily and much cheaper through AMAZON.COM. Nowadays you won't find these products at any retail operation.

It keeps my pond very clear and clean. I used to clean my motor with sponge sleeve at least 2x a week this summer. This filter is keeping the water clearer. I also love the waterfall it creates.

As soon as I hooked this pump up to my 150gal filter systems I knew it could do the job. It not only ran on less juice than My previous German pump but pumped a higher volume of water. The slots on the pump housing however were narrower so it has plugged up a couple of times which amounts to a higher rate of plug-ups over time. I had hoped for a less blocking prone pump but I guess no one pump does it all. The German pump I had before lasted 7 years so it will be quit some time before I can rate this pumps longetivity but I am hopeful because the build quality seems good. In short I think this pump is a great performer for the price and I just hope it holds up over the long haul.....

Two Little Fishies ATLPB4 Phosban 454gm

I used Rowaphos for years, and I always found the life cycle of it to be very short so one day I re-read the instructions and realized I had been using it wrong. I always gave the Rowaphos a good wash out with RO water, to remove all the red rust from the media, but the Instructions say that it should not be rinsed and that the Red would only stain the water for a day or so. Well against my best Judgement I went ahead and used it without rinsing, what a disaster; the Tank turned red for almost 10 days, then it left red dust on everything, I was cleaing this crap out for a month (and no my media was not grinding).

So about 3 months ago I switched to Phosban :-) Yes happy happy joy joy, it's not a wet slop in the can but a dry Grain, and you rinse it and very little comes off, put it in the reactor and almost nothing comes off and the Bonus is the Phosphates drop lower than when I used Rowa. This thing is great, it last longer than Rowa and it's so much easier to deal with. I don't know why I ever strayed from the "two little fishes company", if theirs one thing I have learned in 20 years of reef tanks is that Julian Sprung always makes good stuff because his name and reputation are like gold in the Salt water Aquarium world and I doubt he would ever endorse a product that was sub standard.

I pour this in strainer bags and place in my Wet/Dry filter. I place them on top of the Bio-balls, directly under the layer of filter floss. When I change the filter floss, I carefully rinse and gently rub the granules together in the bags under running just until the water runs a rusty-clear color. That "resurfaces" the Phosban granules each time. This together with a UV light has worked very well.

I also added it bagged into a Rena filter compartment and also hang a bag on the final output flow side of smaller "over-the-back" filters on smaller tanks with success.

Got this for our bearded dragon cage, she absolutely loves it. She use to only climb on this tree in her cage, even though we had multiple structures, but as soon as we put this backer in she only comes off of it to eat.

Highly recommend this product, this is the best purchase we have made for our bearded dragon.

Pros: High quality rigid foam, high quality texture on the front. Didn't have to cut it to fit it in our Zilla cage. The product that arrived looked slightly different then the one pictured, but it was much better, it had multiple rock ledges that the bearded can jump around to instead of one large ledge as pictured.

Cons: Clips didn't fit around our cage, and were just plastic circles with a slit in them. Luckily the product is freestanding.

Lifegard Aquatics ARP440015 Pond Tube Thermometer for Aquarium

This is a well made thermometer and compared to my other thermometers seemed to read 2 degree higher, but I have not had a chance to determine which is the most accurate. Since 2 degrees high is safer than 2 degrees low in the Texas heat, I have not worried about that too much.

I recently had a smaller cheap floating thermometer that I liked fail due to the temperature scale coming loose and moving around inside the thermometer. Since this could have caused some serious problems eventually if the shift was not obvious, I decided to praise this thermometer for its rugged construction and reliability.

I am still comparing, but not found a better made pond thermometer in this price range.

The thermometer works great for our pond. I also plan to take it kayaking in the early and late seasons. It seems pretty durable.

Pretty disappointed by its size

I have two planted petco 6.6 gallon bookshelf aquariums with ferns and mosses, one with cherry shrimp and the other with blue shrimp. I wanted to add some driftwood because of the nice effect it gives the tanks but was afraid it might change the ph and affect my shrimp. I decided to try something artificial but something replicating the real thing. I stumbled upon these tree stumps, ordered the medium and small and they are so real looking and beautiful. Definitely a great addition to my aquariums. People think they are wood and I just play along and keep my little secret. Great little stumps!

I also replaced the fluorescent light fixtures that came with the tanks "too hot" with beamswork 400 led light, perfect!!!

Great looking plastic decoration. Many people have commented that it looks real. Easy to clean with a small toothbrush. The only thing I don't like is that the stump-like base of it was not flat so it's hard to stand up in sand (I have mine standing like a tree and have moss growing on the branches).
