I got this for my puppy because I was taking her by myself to her vet appointments and other places. She was climbing all over me during the drive. It was not safe. I tried some other car seats for dogs, but they didn't work. I got this one and she loves it. I was going to get it ready for her one day so we could go. She got so excited, jumped in the car and on to her seat. She also will sleep in it in the house. It was a little pricey, but she loves it. I love my puppy and I want to drive safely with her so I think this bed is well worth it.Read Best Reviews of Snoozer Luxury Lookout I Pet Car Seat Small Here

Marineland PC0350C Magnum 350 up to 100-Gallon, 350 GPH
Now that I am in a good stable relationship, out comes the aquarium lusts again! I plan on getting the Magnum 350 here at Amazon soon. What makes the Magnum so special is that you can use it as a continuous filter media/activated charcoal filter in your large tank and it will sit there filtering the water for months with no upkeep. And when it is time to clean and replenish it's media, the operation is easy to do. AND, you can convert this filter into a diatomacious earth filter for those massive grungy tank cleaning jobs. This filter can remove all the crud from large tanks and still keep great water flow. Again, it is easy to clean out this unit after diatom use and re convert it into a everyday power filter.
Once you buy a Magnum, it will last a lifetime. We got this filter for a turtle tank. Two red-eared-sliders. They make a big mess. It's a 40 gallon aquarium filled about half way. So this filter is way oversized. However, all the smaller mechanisms we used didn't do the job.
This one seems to work fine. It keeps the water much cleaner than any others we have tried. A quick rinse of the filter cover every few days keeps it in top shape. It's fairly quiet too. That's important as it's in my daughter's bedroom.

I've had a 75 gallon tank for about 30 years. This is only the 1st time I've had to replace the original Magnum I started with. I stared experiencing problems with the motor about 3 months ago, which I repaired, and then it stopped pumping as much water. I probably could have repaired that, as well, but felt it was probably time to get the latest and greatest. The main reason I stayed with Magnum, aside from my extreme satisfaction with my first one, is the ability to use generic charcoal/filtering materials. I took the opportunity to look at several other makes and all required the use of their own filters, pads, etc., all at high cost. Being able to use generic supplies keeps the long term costs down. Installation was a breeze. The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 rating is due to the slight difficulty of positioning the unit under the tank. Due to the quick release valves, the actual height needed is much higher than the actual height of the unit itself. I found that I had to "force" the hose to bend around the edge of the tank to go up the back. It seems to put a lot of stress everything and I'm concerned about the long term effect. Time will tell. In the meantime it works great, is quiet, and I am looking forward to another 30 years!Read Best Reviews of Marineland PC0350C Magnum 350 up to 100-Gallon, 350 GPH Here
4 out of 5 stars since I have not cleaned the media & it has been running for only 3 daysPros: Strong filtration, separate filtration & mechanical construction, quiet
Cons: Professional setup required, many parts & assembly (so follow instructions carefully & watch youtube demonstrations).
This canister filter is not ready to go out of the box. Don't expect that. Have realistic expectations of taking about 2-3 hours to carefully setup and you will not be dissapointed. Posted pictures of before tank (not cleaned on purpose) & after

A long time fan of Marineland products the Magnum 350 caught my interest because it can double as a water polishing unit that uses cartridges.I placed a call to Marinland and found out the polishing cartridge will remove particles as small as 10-15 microns. For true water polishing the only filter in the world that can remove particles as small as one micron in size is the Diatom by Vortex renowned for it's ability to filter out pathogens and parasites like ich.As a primary filter for your aquarium I can't recommend the Magnum. It's limited to mechanical filtration only, the chamber you use for activated charcoal is far to small to hold enough biological filter media to colonize enough nitrifying bacteria. The filter has poor build quality all the way around. It can't hold a candle to the solid craftsmanship you would find with say, eheim. It's also sub par to anything put out by Fluval.
Problems happened fast after the first use. The impeller is quirky it starts and stops and is a constant battle. You're forever having to adjust it and the entire assembly. It can leak as well Especially if you haven't applied enough silicone to the head gasket. It's also loud and it's a noise like a coffee grinder.
Quick Specs
* Certified Flow Rate of 350 GPH
* No water bypass
* Good for tanks up to 100 gallons
* Can convert easily from continuous filtration to water polishing
* 2 year manufacturer's warranty
* Polishing cartridges can be cleaned and re-charged with bleach solution
At the list price around $329.99 I wouldn't give it a first glance not to mention a second one. But to find it here on Amazon for a mere $94 it's a decent deal. The polishing cartridges sell for $19.99 just about everyplace I looked. However you can find them here on Amazon for $9.00
This isn't a filter for everyone. It should only be the choice of the hobbyist who wants water polishing from time to time. And who understands the issues and headaches that come with owning and maintaining one.

Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System
Buy Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System Now
There's no doubt this filter clearly stands alone as the best filter on the market. The three complaints I've read are cost, flow rate and the pre-filter clogging after days of operation. The first, we'll it's been several years now since release and the cost has come down considerably and it's now cheaper than an Eheim Pro 3e and IMHO a better filter when you compare the prefilter option of foam vs Fine polishing media. Flow rate, Hagen's responded to this and claims its superior when you actually consider loaded flow rate, not just what a motor can pump. With regards to the filter clogging, think about it. Muck that was in your tank is now in the filter where it should be. On the other now antiquated filters out there maintenance, if they actually were trapping it, would be a pain, on this filter it's a 2 minute swap with a new pre-filter or 5 minute clean and replace if you prefer. I have a 46G Bow front with 4 African jack Dempseys and do find I need to clean the pre-filter every two weeks to maintain 100% flow rate. The flow rate graph is really nice for letting you know when to do maintenance, there's also programmable schedules for each media to help track and each with optional alert.Easy maintenance is a key feature, but it's also allows you to quickly changes out your chemical filter to meet a specific condition. Algae starting to take foot, grab your phosphate filter and run it for a few days, nitrate to high grab the nitrate filter. Maintain them all with the triflex filter or use the optional replaceable media filter to use the media of your choice.
EC, time will tell but for now I'll take some indicator over the alternative of no indicator.
The lady that had a priming issue... make sure you prime before you plug it in..it makes ALL the difference as stated in the manual. Priming never been a problem for me, only takes two pumps. She either has a defective unit or didn't read the manual.
On the negative side I'm not thrilled with the suction cup intake and output tube fixtures. I have a film backing on my tank which precludes use of the rear suction cups and I don't want to cut it. I actually found reversing the clamp and putting the large plastic piece in the inside of the tank provides a more stable mount considering only one suction cup is used. I'd also prefer the output y-adapter to be a T-adapter if you planned to use the spray attachment. BTW, the filter comes with the nozzles attached to the y-dapter, you simply pull them off and push on the spray bars or you could have one nozzle and one spraybar if you like. You can get an inline alignment but it would work a bit better with a T then a Y. Both of these are really minor complaints, but they're the only negatives I have. I simply love this filter, it's made fish keeping a joy and a bit more fun as well.

-The G3 is an amazing filter. It is by far the easiest canister to maintain as the cartridges are removed and cleaned w/o even getting your hands wet w/ the brush.-Dead quiet, and I mean it. You will not even be able to hear it running unless you stick your ear to it.
-LCD screen provides useful information as temp & conductivity, plus reminds you when its time for maintenance.
-Lots of included bio-media (G-nodes)
-Flow is stronger than you think, don't go by just the GPH. I would recommend this filter up to a 55 gallon max. by itself.
-Separate cartridges are sold, such as the Nitrate cartridge which is supposed to help lower and maintain nitrate.
The only thing I will say is that the intake tube isn't that strong, so in terms of picking up waste, it isnt that great by itself. However, an easy solution would be to add a powerhead (I used the aquaclear 50), and it really helps push the waste on the floor into the intake.
Before I purchased the G3, I was comparing/researching numerous amounts of canister filters.
The main problem that seems to be pretty common with many canisters (including some fluval products) is leaking.
The G3 is near impossible to leak, and it is sealed tight.
Just add a powerhead and this will be one the best and high-tech filters you've had.

I have bought two of these filters, the pump failed on one within six months, and the other is limping along until I can find a replacement. Forget about customer service, it's designed to make you give up trying. The pumps are a nightmare to prime, sometimes it takes more than an hour pushing the priming button and reseting the filter by uplugging it again and again before the "microprocessor controlled" pump decides to work. I have had to disassemble the pump probably more than two dozen times when the filter inexplicably shuts down and a "Check Impeller Rotor" message comes up, and yet nothing appears to be amiss. That's followed by the usual priming nightmare. In fact, getting the filter primed is such an unpleasent experience, you are reluctant to clean it. What fun! Then the delecate plastic "ears" on the mechanical filter snap off without any mishandeling, and it really doesn't keep the water that clean anyway. To all this is added the fact that the GPM is seriously overrated; I am sure it doesn't aproach half of what's advertzed. The Fluval G3 is a clever concept, very, very poorly executed. Beware! Whay pay twice what other pumps cost for that? I never will again.

Underwater Galleries AUG7211 Island Stonehead
There is an opening in the back and base, which is nice for fish to hide and water to drain for removal. I thought we would have to anchor it down because it didn't feel heavy enough but we just smooshed it down in the gravel a bit and he was good to go. Now Dumb Dumb is in place and ready to have some company. The one I got is not blue as it looked in the picture, but other than that it looks the same. I did not know what size it would be, since there was no definite indication in the description, unless I missed that. It turned out to be the size I thought it might be, though. which is about 3" by 6". I used it in my two gallon turtle bowl (which is supposed to be a fish bowl). It's tall enough that the turtle can use it as a dry land 'sunning' spot.

KollerCraft AQUARIUS AquaView 360 Aquarium Kit with LED Light - 3-Gallon
Granted for most if not all suitable fish you will need a heater, as the tank design causes anything on the rear wall to be magnified I opted for a small 7.5 watt under gravel heater, it works like a charm and my fish stays nice and happy.
Hydor MINI HEATER Aquarium Heater 7.5 Watts for Tanks 2-5 gal
I use this tank for a planted set up and could only be happier if it came with a small internal filter rather then the UGF, but whatcha gonna do? It's not a big deal to me since I'm familiar with them from previous years of fish keeping. I've posted a picture with more information on my setup in the photo section as well.
It's been running for 3 weeks and so far I have not had any issues with bacterial blooms (cloudy water) or regular cleaning and water changes. If you have any questions feel free to comment, I'll be happy to answer =)Pros: This aquarium is great for a betta! My crowntail betta, Icy, loves having lots of room to swim around. Set up was very easy, no problems. It looks great and would be a wonderful night light with the beautiful color changes.
Cons: The plastic is rather flimsy, it's difficult to move the aquarium unless you remove most of the water first. The ornaments you can put in are very limited in size, because of the circular tank and the plastic tube in the center. My biggest disappointment and the main reason I'm only giving this aquarium two stars is because after only owning it for 2 months the 4 colored lighting unit went out. I would also like to note that this is not with full time use, the light is usually only on for 12 hours a day. I turn it off in the evenings. I've been trying to replace it for the last month, and have been unable to get ahold of anyone in the company. I finally found a form online that allows me to order a replacement bulb, but it's going to cost $6.00 plus $6.95 for shipping and handling and will take 3-4 weeks for delivery. $13.00 every other month is way too much for standard two month maintenance on an aquarium, plus the hassel of finding where you can even order a replacement! Very disappointed the light didn't last longer, my poor fishy has to swim in the dark until I can get the bulb fixed.

DO not buy this tank! The led lights burned out in about a month. the lights are situated where moisture and condensation can get to them causing the housing screws to rust and let water in. the tank is also hard to clean because the HUGE filter tube is right in the middle. Inevitably the fish hide behind there and around the curve to where you can't enjoy them. The worst part is trying to get replacement parts. the sent an order form along with the aquarium but everything is so expensive.$7.95 for the light but $6.95 to ship ( c'mon man ). Good luck calling, they never answer there phone and NEVER return calls. On the upside it makes a pretty cool terrarium for exotic plants now ( which is why i gave it two stars instead of one ;) ) I suggest buying the Tetra Cube 3 gallon for the same price. The lighting is better and easier to clean. It has a real filter and not a bubblestone which caused too much disruption for my betta. I find it the perfect size for him, He seems really happy, but then again I am no betta mind reader. If you have a betta in mind then the Tetra tank is the way to go IMHO. It's the same price too! Don't make the mistake i did. And remember, these are acrylic tanks and will scratch EASY. be careful when cleaning...very careful.

I got more than I expected with this tank! I opened the box and it was well organized. The tank took me about twenty minutes to set up, add rocks, and water. It came with the tank (obviously), the air pump, the ug (under gravel) filter, and the LED lights. Everything was a good quality and the tube has a fish protector so your fish can't go in and get hurt.
I did research and learned that ug filters aren't the most affective and best so I bought a second filter to add in, It'll keep my tank more clean.
The different color LED lights are beautiful! they obviously aren't as dark as the pictures shown, but they're so pretty!
I absolutely recommend this for people looking for a beginner tank. It's clear and it looks quite classy.
It also comes with a sample of water conditioner and fish food. :) Recommend this to anyone looking for a nice fish tank!

This tank is alright, I really loved it when I first got it, until certain problems came to play.1: The pump it comes with is weak. You cannot put the air stone to the bottom without it stopping. I guess the water pressure is greater than the pump's power
2: Small fish can get into the cylinder tube where the air stone goes through (they provide a covering for the top of the tube, but fish still find their way in and the only way to get them out is by taking out the tube (and since its inserted into the ground filter you have to completely take the tank apart) or hope your fish is smart enough to swim out. I bought this tank for my baby Mollies, they arent smart fish
3: (AND THIS IS WHERE I REALLY GET UPSET) I've had this tank set up for about a month, the green LED already went out, and the individual colors are not as bright as displayed.

Tetra LED Betta Tank, 1-Gallon
This tank is very lightweight and easy to clean...just use a paper towel or cello sponge to wash the inner walls or it will get scratched because it's plastic. The LED light is not very bright but it adds great ambiance and the fact it has a lid is very convenient and safer if your betta is a jumper. My betta jumped out of the marina zen cube b/c the opening is very wide.
The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that it didn't come with an adaptor and batteries can run pretty expensive so I'm using rechargeables to save money. I definitely would recommend this over the other betta tanks for both looks and value.Well, it was less then 20 bucks for my bettas setup. When the tank arrived ,the packaging was a bit odd, but the wait was worth it. This tank has an outlet on the back that you can power WITH YOUR PHONE CHARGER. Yeah, did you ever think you'd hear of a tank powered by a usb? What I like to do is power it with my xbox. This tank looks good wherever you place it in your house. Mine personally has green river rocks with green plants. The lighting from the tank really gives it a retro apperance, and my little guy couldn't be happier! Oh!There is one small issue.. The lights aren't that powerful, even when plugged in. They still give the tank a fair lighting, but don't expect your average incandescent bulb.10/10 In my opinion :)

I needed a tank with a lid, since my cat kept drinking out of the one I had. I love the shape, its fan and cool! The base lights up, however, one of the bubls was burnt when I received it. Its a cool tank and it came in one piece and in no time at all!My Beta is very happy in his new home. It is easy to clean and looks nice and modern. Happy with it !This tank looks nice and sleek; but it lacks filteration and the lights run on batteries. The batteries need to be loaded from the bottom. Very awkward when the tank is filled and in use.Monday, October 7, 2013

PondCare Wide Range PH Test Kit
Pour 5 ml of water sample into the marked test-tube, add five drops of chemical, cap and mix, then compare it to the color chart.
The card has scales/colors of 5.0(orange/red), 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 9.0(blue) easy to tell the pH difference unless you are colorblind.
I have added the acetic acid and sodium bicarbonate to water samples and observed the color changes, so I know this thing work. Also, I have tested it with water samples with known pH, the accuracy is pretty good.
The only downside is it doesn't come with an expiration date.
For an amateur aquarist like me, this is the startup kit.

Hydor 50W Submersible Aquarium Heater - Original Theo
I know that I haven't had it long, but so far, so good.
UPDATE: 2 months in, it still heats well. The ambient temperature in the room has an effect on it, but the temp is staying +/2 degrees from 80. For a $20 heater, I'm satisfied with that.It is a good heater. I think the temp might be a little off. i have it at the highest setting and the thermometer says 77 degrees, but it is in a very cool room

I ordered this heater because the one I already had was a little too bulky for my 5gal tank. It has been running for several weeks now and the only problem I've had is it runs about 3 degrees F above the setting but it is very consistent with the temp. I like how small this heater is without sacrificing wattage, I like the dial on top that has actual degree settings, I also like that there is an on/off light. I would recommend this heater.Read Best Reviews of Hydor 50W Submersible Aquarium Heater - Original Theo Here
You may have to tweek the temp a little but this works just fine. It's not that long so it does not hit the bottom of my tank and I use a peice of drift wood to hide it.Want Hydor 50W Submersible Aquarium Heater - Original Theo Discount?
I've had it for 2 months and it keeps my 5 gallon tank at a consistent temperature.I had to isolate my betta in a 1-gallon tank to treat fin rot and I'm using the heater in there, too. It's also keeping the water consistently at the right temperature. Temp doesn't necessarily match what the dial says, but if you monitor the water you can adjust it as needed.
