Como Aquascaping Artificial Green Plastic Pine Tree Decoration for Aquarium

Como Aquascaping Artificial Green Plastic Pine Tree Decoration for Aquariumplant floated too much, I had to keep ancoring it into the gravel, but the next day, it would be floating at trhe top again. I took it out, and made a fake bonsi looking arrangement somewhere else, not a good fish tank asscessory. this item receives a "F" rating.

no matter how I bury it the minute a fish bumps it, it floats to the top. not worth the trouble.

This is a well made and realistic looking tree when you put it in the water. I've given up silk because they look good for only a temporary amount of time and take more time to clean than they're worth. So I've gone to a mixture of real plants and some plastic. The well made plastic ones, such as this, match and tend to blend into the landscape of my aquariums well.

VIP Products Mighty Penny Penguin Arctic Dog Toy, Black and White

VIP Products Mighty Penny Penguin Arctic Dog Toy, Black and WhiteThis penguin toy is fun for our 42 lb dog who enjoys flinging it all over..the only adverse observation that I can make is that the abdomen is quite firm and, since the "squeak" is located there, it takes a bit of an effort for our dog to "nose out" a squeak (she loves squeaks.)

So far, so good she likes to cuddle with it. Her sister had eaten her other penguin toy until only the shell remained. So, now the rottie has her new penguin, and we keep it away from her sister.

Our husky loves this penguin, he's had it a couple months now and hasn't ripped it apart. Pretty amazing for him! The penguin is very firm and squeaks. We like to think that he especially likes it because it reminds him of his ancestral home (There are penguins in Siberia... right??).

This is the worst ( and most expensive) dog toy I have ever purchased. My 50lb dog shook it once and the wing flew off leaving a gaping hole in the side of it. You know what that means. The toy was dead in 20 seconds. I have contacted Amazon for a refund. Save your money and have them demolish a cheap toy, it will take the same amount of time.

Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Aragonite Reef Sand

Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Aragonite Reef SandStarted my first salt water tank with this product. After 2 days the sand settled and cleared. After testing the water and finding the ammonia, nitrates and nitrites at "zero level," I turned on the filters, skimmers and heater and added fish once the water temperature was at 77F. It was easy and I would definitely purchase and use this product again! I would definitely recommend this product to people new to marine reef/fish keeping. Takes a lot of the hassle out of the process.

Great product looks great in tank and It really helps stabilize ph and is just straight up great for any tank.

Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch

Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-InchThis is made for 15-55 gallon tanks. Unfortunately the product description doesn't state that so I found out when the package arrived and read it in big bold letters across the front of the package.

Hope that pertinent info helps someone else not buy the wrong size vacuum!

As far as the construction of the product it looks great and bulb vacuums really do make cleaning the tank half the work.

Although I did not buy this from Amazon, my resident shopping "store", I did buy it from a pet store. I have had an aquarium for 15 years and siphoning out the water was a chore, especially getting the water to flow at first. This is simple and works everytime. There is only one drawback. The intake tube and the tubing itself come apart when moving it around in the aquarium. I rememdied that easily by going to the hardware stoe and buying a clamp. Problem solved. Great product!!!

Buy Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch Now

This is a great product for me, but did come with a learning curve not for the product/siphon itself, but how to make it work with my tank and its placement. I have a 75gal and a 100gal fish tank that are in my living room (not near a sink). This worked very well, but as someone said before, it moves water quickly, and without help, you have to stop the suction to dump the bucket. I bought some tubing at the local hardware store and a tubing adapter, attached these to the end of the siphon tubing put it out a window and now it waters (and fertilizes my plants as I clean). My siphon also got rocks stuck in it, but doesn't seem to pose any issues, just rattles and annoys me. Last but not least, I also had to turn the siphon bulb the other direction for it to properly work. Easy fixes, and now is a DREAM come true in helping clean two large tanks by myself.

This is an outstanding product for doing water exchanges and gravel cleaning with ease. Before I always would siphon using standard tube and starting the flow with my mouth haha, no more! Very simple to use, water flow is ample for my 40ish gallon tank. Tube length/diameter's work great. Good value and would definitely recommend.

Want Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch Discount?

Product works great. For the people who say they can't get it working try this:

I believe the siphon bulb is one way, because it wasn't working for me at first until I flipped it around.

Also, start by filling the vacuum tube with water and holding it up until the hose is filled. Then re-submerge the tube and pump the bulb to start the siphon.

I had never vacuumed a tank or siphoned anything before (I have a 60 gallon tank) and was able to use this without problems.

Como 13" Height Ceramic Base Manmade Plant Green Grass Ornament for Aquarium

Como 13' Height Ceramic Base Manmade Plant Green Grass Ornament for AquariumThe plant is nice and full, providing lots of cover for fish or fry. It's a little big for a 10 gallon, but looks great in my 20 (see picture). The plastic is a little thin but so is real grass, and the grey ceramic base is nice and heavy, staying put until you move it. Over all I'm pleased, and will probably order another for a different tank.

Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch

Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-InchBought this light for my son's deep 25 gallon tank after looking at inferior and overpriced units available at my local chain pet stores & online. It was a replacement for the dim florescent tube light that came with the tank. What a difference!!! The tank is so bright it actually looks like natural sunlight (it will actually cause you to see spots for a few minutes if you look at it straight on when lit). We have been using the light daily for about 3 months now and it is still working flawlessly. The light is bright enough to support the growth of a few Amazon swords, onion plants, and a couple of unnamed tubers. The light fixture is small, solid, and sleek looking-it is a definite improvement over the old black plastic box that was there before. I purposely waited some time to see if this light would hold-up before writing a product review to be sure I was not recommending another disappointing aquarium light system. After a few months of daily, sustained use I am pleased to report it has there are no still no problems with the light. All the LEDs are still functioning and there has been no issues with the light's performance whatsoever thus far. The only word of caution I would offer is that be very careful with the light duration. We started the light on a 12 hour daily cycle from the start and there was significant green algae growth problems on all surfaces of the tank, gravel, plants, and lid. We finally got the algae under control and are currently running it for 7-8 hour daily cycles without algae growth. If you are looking to add some punch to your tank without spending some major cash upgrade your lighting with this light.

I chose this to replace my large and unsightly fluorescent fixture (dual T5HO) based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews I had read on the internet and my own experience with the Fugeray on another tank. The Ray2 doesn't disappoint! Super slim, super bright, and has the look and feel of a much more expensive unit. Finnex knows how to get it right. Plus, they provide PAR data for their lights so the buyer can make sure the light will be appropriate for each particular aquarium setup. I am now using this on a 10 gallon that is 20" wide, so there is some goofy looking protrusion from each side, but the adjustable legs make it work.

Recommended for anyone looking for high light in a slim platform. Do your research to make sure high light intensity will work in your tank, and if so, you will be pleased with the Ray2.

Buy Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch Now

There aren't many aquarium lights that are this inexpensive, that actually work as well as this one does. I love the thin, low profile look of it, and the light output of the 7k/7k daylight model is great for my planted tank. In the 2 weeks I've had the light, my plants have responded by growing taller, and bushier, than they ever were before. My fish also look much more vibrant, and colorful than they ever did with my previous light.

My ONLY gripe about it, is that the power cord is too short. I had to use an extension cord with it in order to plug it in. The cord needs to be about twice as long. I'm still giving it 5 stars though, because the price to performance value is incredible!

Read Best Reviews of Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch Here

I absolutely love this light! Would have preferred to get the double bright version, but this works well enough.

Gives me moderate/high light in my 28 gallon bowfront, haven't noticed any of my plants pearling yet, but I have noticed an immense growth rate change since changing over to this from a single tube aqueon t8.

Attaches to the rim of the tank nicely though the screws seem somewhat of a cheap quality, it holds steady and is high enough off the tank to avoid splashing from the filter and fish occasionally jumping.

It has come highly recommended to me from many people on fish forums, and now I'm highly recommending it to everyone else!

Want Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch Discount?

This company was MORE than helpful to make sure everything was right with my purchase. I love this light, I have two on top of my 72 gallon bowfront tank. The lights are so bright, I keep my lights on 6-8 hrs max or I'd grow algae. My plants are growing fast too!

SpongeBob SquarePants® 3" Aerating ° Bubbles ° Aquarium Ornaments

Penn-Plax Spongebob Aerating Ornament for AquariumIt's the ornament in the picture with a tube glued to the back. Would have been nice to see that before buying it. I mean I didn't expect much out of it because it was pretty inexpensive, but at least a diffuser or something would have been nice. I tried it out for the heck of it and didn't even bother keeping in in there past one day.

Elite Filter Cartridge for Mini Underwater Filter, 2-Pack

Elite Filter Cartridge for Mini Underwater Filter, 2-PackI ordered this product along with the Hagen Elite Underwater Mini-Filter. The filter was a little too strong for my betta fish, even on its minimum setting, so I just attached one of these to the output. Now everything is well! Be sure to order one of these with the filter.

Good filter for a smaller tank, the specs say that this will work for a 10 gallon tank, I would think that this would work better for a 5 or less gallon tank. The water flow is good and the filtration is a sponge like element. No room for any carbon.

I bought this filter to replace the one that came with my little table top aquarium (which broke the first week). This filter is wonderful! It's so easy to set up and it's so quiet you can't hear it. I sometimes have to stick my hand in the water to make sure it's still working, which it is! It provides a little current for my fish which I think makes them feel more at home, like in a natural environment.

TOM Aquarium Perch-Light Fixture 7W w/Compact Flo Lamp, 6400K DThis light is perfect for my small 3 gallon aquarium. It works perfectly with a light timer. The only complaint is that the bulb only lasted for about 1 month before blowing out. However, the bulb can be replaced unlike some of the LED lights available for small aquariums.

These are very nice lights. They fit on the tanks perfectly and after a month of use they are still in great shape. No burned out bulbs. I like how I can adjust them easily.

Tetra 29181 Finding Nemo Aquarium Cube, 1.5 Gallons

Tetra 29181 Finding Nemo Aquarium Cube, 1.5 GallonsI bought the Nemo for my son and the Ariel for my daughter. They both wanted a pet so we figured a fish would be the best for now. We saw these on the disney site (if you catch them at the right time of the month you can get it for half off the retail and cheaper shipping).

Great little design, no leaks, filter is cute and relatively functional, however the air pump is not very stable and is prone to falling over and making a loud vibrating noise. It seems to want to follow the hose, so make sure you position the hose well.

The tank includes almost everything you need, EXCEPT gravel. So, when your kids open it up looking for it, you will need to come up with a good excuse (or, after reading this review, buy it and have it ready). Food, water conditioner, decoration, lights, etc., are all included. Make sure to rinse everything very well. Be careful not to use any soap as the residue may kill anything you put into the tank. A good thorough rinse should do the trick. Then, try to fill the tank and let it run for a couple of days before adding a fish (we put one Beta in each tank and they are both doing very well). The acrylic is very clear, and the cover is VERY good for keeping toys, hands, etc., out of the tank. I did not give it five stars because of the pump and the lack of gravel. Even still, I would have given 4.5 stars if it were available, as the gravel is not such a big deal (don't forget to rinse it VERY, VERY well before adding it into the tank).

This aquarium, along with other small "starter kit" aquariums are inadequate for the needs of most fish (even smaller fish like tetras and danios) and promote impulse buying of fish (particularly goldfish. more on that below).

Aquarium "kits" give many people the impression that they can just buy the kit, fill it with dechlorinated water, and dump in the fish. This causes so much heartache for the poor buyer, as they will see their brand new fish go belly up within days or even hours depending on the conditions of the tank and fish. :(

The reason for this is because in a "kit" aquarium, the buyer is not encouraged to CYCLE the tank That is, allow bacteria to build up in the systema process that can take days, but there are treatments that can be added to the water to speed up the process.

If that weren't bad enough, the dimensions of the aquarium here itself (1.7 gallons?) are severely inadequate for most types of fish, as I stated above. Fish need room to swim around, lest they become ill or overly stressed. (with the exception of really slow moving fish, of course...like bettas, etc).

In a large, healthy aquarium, there are many types of beneficial bacteria living in the ceramic media at the bottom of the filter. This is good. It breaks down the toxic fish waste and ammonia and all is well with the aquarium.

A small aquarium is doubly bad for the novice, as problems with the water quality can get deadly to the fish much much faster than they could in a large aquarium. There is no room for error in a tiny 1.7 gallon cube.

Though to a beginner, a large aquarium may seem daunting, the novice hobbyist will have much better luck with a 30 gallon. Water changes are done less frequently, and if the filter goes out in a 30 gallon aquarium, you won't have to drop everything and immediately go out and buy a new one. You can wait a day.

A little word about goldfish: goldfish require a large aquarium to suit their needs. They are very dirty fish, and produce lots of...err...waste, so they would need a larger aquarium as well as a pretty efficient filtration system. Even in a large aquarium (20-30 gallons) just one goldfish would require at least weekly partial water changes.

Goldfish also get HUGE. Some can grow to 8-12 inches. They can also live 20-30 years. So, when a goldfish dies after five years, it didn't die of old age...just so you know.

About my fish: I keep two Oranda goldfish (those are the little guys with puffy red caps on their heads) named Pork and Beans in a 25 gallon rectangular aquarium. When they get too big, I will either sell one, or transfer them to a larger 30-40 gallon.

hope this helps! :)

We bought this for my son's 3rd bday. He is a huge nemo fan. We opened the package and the tank was completely cracked. After reading the enclosed packing materials I finally figured out that we could take this back to the Pet Smart here in town. They were super helpful. They helped us determine that a BETA would do better in here than a goldfish. Goldfish need more space than this small (? 1.5 gallon) tank can provide. That was 3 + months ago and our "Nemo" is doing great.

HuggleHounds Be Mine Heart Dog Toy - Mini

HuggleHounds Be Mine Heart Dog Toy - MiniI was very disappointed in this particular toy. While I normally have great luck with all toys purchased here, this one was dirty and I didn't even want to give it to my dog. Makes me rethink buying them...

I bought this one for my 3 year old yorkie who seems to think that every toy should be edible! Most soft or plush toys don't last her more than a couple of days if that long. This seems to be tough enough to last a long time. My only problem with it is it's so tough that she can't poke the heart hard enough to squeak it herself and that causes her to quit playing with it after a few minutes. She knows it squeaks because I can squeeze it hard enough to cause it to squeak, she then excitedly pulls it from me to squeak it herself. It has 3 layers, I wish that this one had only 2 of these thick tough layers so she could squeak it herself. If they ever make one with 2 instead of 3 layers I would buy it. Although the look on her face is priceless when she pushes her nose into it trying to squeak it and can't, (she licks her nose then looks at me wondering why it won't squeak. LOL!)

BeamsWork 48"-52" Double Bright Power LED Aquarium Light Fixture 3300

BeamsWork 48'-52' Double Bright Power LED Aquarium Light Fixture 3300Take this review for what it is worth. I've only had the thing a few days. It's far more powerful than the Marineland Double Bright (obviously due to the extra LED). It shipped, with regular shipping, quicker than expected. It was well packaged and appeared to be brand spanking new coming out of the box. Everything works great so far. The box maintains the LEDs are replaceable (hoping not to need to find out for a while will update if breaks quickly). The heat is there, but not excessive. The light is fantastic, though like all LED it's focused mostly straight down and does leave a sliver in the front and back of my 75 a little dark. Obviously the price is good

Negatives: It's true the blue LED are on with the white (though I guess it's possible to switch them over to more whites since they're replaceable). You can't set a timer for the 'night light' because it's all on one switch/plug (I knew these when I ordered it and don't really care for my purposes but others might need more control).

Don't know: long term performance, warranty/customer service (though shipping was great so the seller isn't reckless or anything).

1 OF THE WHITE LED'S WENT OUT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT THE THING IS PRETTY BRIGHT. BUY BUYER BE AWARE, THIS IS NOT FOR REEF TANKS AT ALL, I HAVE A 55 GALLON, AND I HAD TO BUY A SET OF T5'S, WHICK IS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO AVOID BECAUSE OF ENEGY CONSUMPTION, SO I GOT THESE LED'S INSTEAD. BUT THEY WILL NEVER LIGHT UP LIKE T5'S. MAYBE FOR FRESH WATER OR FISH ONLY AQUARIUM ITS FINE, BUT NOT FOR AQUARIUMS WITH LIVE ROCK OR CORALS LIKE MINE. I HAD TO WASTE AN EXTRA 3OO BUCKS ON T5'S.

...ALSO BE AWARE THESE THINGS ALSO GET DULLER AS THEY GET OLDER, JUST A HEADS UP. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR REEF TANKS. HOWEVER SELLER WAS GREAT, THATS WHY I GAVE 3 STARS.

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 10" Medium

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 10' MediumThis product VERY well cleans the gunk from the gravel. I have medium river rock and it works fabulously! Couldn't live without it! This is a rather large product good for 50 or more gallon tanks as it drains water rather quickly. If you have a smaller tank, choose the equivalent product in the small size. Your fish will thank you.

This is a pretty standard gravel vac. Yes, it does have the extra wide head (in the shape of flattened hose, so its wide width-wise, but narrow height-wise), and that does let you get into spots that you otherwise would not be able to reach. I have been using this with a 55 gallon and a 29 gallon tank. The medium size seems to work well.

This gravel vac also comes with a nice clip, so you can attach the clip to the bucket that the water is going into and not have to worry about the hose popping up while you are reaching around the tank. If you've ever had a hose come out of the bucket and spray water over the floor while you're cleaning a tank, you will recognize how nice a feature this is.

Here's how you get it to work:

1) Get the water bucket ready and hold the large side of the tube in one hand and the thin end of the tube in another hand.

2) Submerge the large end in the fish tank so that the tube fills up with water.

3) Put your finger on the end of the narrow side of the tube.

4) Raise the fat side of the tube up out of the aquarium just a bit as you let a little bit of air out of the tube from the skinny end with your finger. The action is just like letting a wee bit of air out of something inflatable.

5) As you raise the fat end and let a bit of air out of the skinny end, you will see the water move through the tube. Do this until the water is right at the skinny end of the tube, almost touching your finger.

6) By now, much of the water in the fat end will have moved into the tubing. So submerge the fat end into the aquarium again, filling up the whole chamber.

7) Let the water bubbles in the tubing clear out.

8) Now put the skinny end into the bucket (keep that finger on), and submerge the fat end in the fish tank.

9) Remove your finger from the skinny end and the water will spurt out. Viola your gravel vac is sucking up water.

A gravel vac is an essential fish-keeping item, and this is a good one. Get it.
