Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch
Hope that pertinent info helps someone else not buy the wrong size vacuum!
As far as the construction of the product it looks great and bulb vacuums really do make cleaning the tank half the work.Although I did not buy this from Amazon, my resident shopping "store", I did buy it from a pet store. I have had an aquarium for 15 years and siphoning out the water was a chore, especially getting the water to flow at first. This is simple and works everytime. There is only one drawback. The intake tube and the tubing itself come apart when moving it around in the aquarium. I rememdied that easily by going to the hardware stoe and buying a clamp. Problem solved. Great product!!!

This is a great product for me, but did come with a learning curve not for the product/siphon itself, but how to make it work with my tank and its placement. I have a 75gal and a 100gal fish tank that are in my living room (not near a sink). This worked very well, but as someone said before, it moves water quickly, and without help, you have to stop the suction to dump the bucket. I bought some tubing at the local hardware store and a tubing adapter, attached these to the end of the siphon tubing put it out a window and now it waters (and fertilizes my plants as I clean). My siphon also got rocks stuck in it, but doesn't seem to pose any issues, just rattles and annoys me. Last but not least, I also had to turn the siphon bulb the other direction for it to properly work. Easy fixes, and now is a DREAM come true in helping clean two large tanks by myself.Read Best Reviews of Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch Here
This is an outstanding product for doing water exchanges and gravel cleaning with ease. Before I always would siphon using standard tube and starting the flow with my mouth haha, no more! Very simple to use, water flow is ample for my 40ish gallon tank. Tube length/diameter's work great. Good value and would definitely recommend.Want Aqueon 06232 Siphon Vacuum Aquarium Gravel Cleaner with Bulb, 10-Inch Discount?
Product works great. For the people who say they can't get it working try this:I believe the siphon bulb is one way, because it wasn't working for me at first until I flipped it around.
Also, start by filling the vacuum tube with water and holding it up until the hose is filled. Then re-submerge the tube and pump the bulb to start the siphon.
I had never vacuumed a tank or siphoned anything before (I have a 60 gallon tank) and was able to use this without problems.

Acurel F 25
I haven't had a decent clear tank of water since I first set up my tank. It's a little 5.5 Gallon. The only time it was clear was when I first filled it. Since then... it's been various levels of cloudiness. I filled it with Well water. I added the recommended conditioners. It being a new tank, I added "seed" fish (Fathead Minnows). All but one of the fish died. I had a very bad case of New Tank Syndrome. I decided to start over. I cleaned the heck out of everything. This time I used Spring water. I added the conditioners. It started out crystal clear... but after a couple of days, clouded up again. I used a water clarifier... a floculant type... it did zip... a waste of money. The water tested OK... but remained cloudy. I decided to be patient. I did a lot of research... joined forums... I followed all the advice I could find about setting up a new tank... and getting the water right biologically. I added this, that, and the other thing... as recommended. Nothing Worked. I used 3 other water treatment products that all made fantastic claims about creating a crystal clear, biologically balanced, environment in my aquarium.
2 1/2 months into it with my cloudy tank, and just one Fathead Minnow left... he was from the first batch... apparently a hardy little guy. Just for fun, I added a Crayfish that I found in a nearby creek (tons of fun, extremely entertaining, super hardy and easy to care for... and gets along great with my Fathead Minnow). He's doing awesome, but eats vegetables, algea wafers, frozen shrimp, etc... anything/everything you throw in the tank. The water was always cloudy... and I thought, with the salad bar my Crayfish was eating... the water would never clear up.
I wandered into Petco to browse around. I found the "Acurel F" and read the label. I thought, Ok, I'll bite. I bought the "Accurel F", but didn't get my hopes up. I followed the directions. I added 2 drops per gallon (the minimum recommended amount). About 2 hours later I checked it. It was very clear, a significant difference... but I thought not quite a 100%. I added 5 more drops. The recommendations were to start with 2-4 drops so I was still in the range. Within 4 hours, as stated on the package... Crystal Clear Water. Beautiful!
My recommendation... start with the lowest dose... and work your way up as necessary. I've been maintaining the clarity in my 5.5 Gal. tank with just 2 drops a day.
"Accurel F" Awesome Product.Acurel F is the best thing i have ever used in my tank.the water was so cloudy from the sun hitting the tank i even got a H.O.T. Magnum Canister Filter and helped alot but still couldnt stop it... and after likr 5 hours is was all over and never seen water so clean any place i have ever seen tanks..must get it i have tryed alot of other brands and didnt do a thing skip all of them and get Acurel F

Marina Betta Kit, Large
If they just made these tanks 2.5-5 gallons they'd be great! If they installed heaters in them they'd be perfect... but really people, just use this tank when you're changing the water in your real tank. Amazon has a great 5-gallon by aqueon. It even has a filter. Just baffle the filter and put a pre-filter sponge on it, add a heater and you'll be good to go. That's what I've done now. I god some black sand, large river rocks, an amazon sword, java moss, and some drift wood... my tank looks beautiful and my new betta LOVES it. I only have to change 20% of the water since I cycled the tank, and I have a ghost shrimp to help keep the sand clean AND some neon tetras with the betta. It's much more peaceful, but if you want decor, try a 3-gal vase with crystal rocks and some bamboo or a plant. As for heat, they are tropical fish and do best in warm water, but if you keep your house warm, then you should be fine without a heater.

No complaints here...great design. I use this for about 5 shrimp and some java fern. It's been 2 months and they seem to be flourishing...Got it for under $5 bucks from Amazon Warehouse deals and still had to return it because it was cracked. This tank is very flimsy and and very tiny. To call this tank 'Large' is a joke. Looks good, but no room for a filter, air stone etc. and no lid or light. For the $11 original price you can buy a 'real' 10 gallon glass aquarium. Do I need to say more? Check the dimensions and forget about this 'tank'.This won't even hold a full gallon of water! It's much too small for a fish as big as a betta--the fish's fins would rot very quickly and doesn't give the fish room to exercise it's swim muscles. It'd have to be cleaned every single day just to keep the water clean. Yes, it's pretty to look at for the humans but it's not good for the fish living inside it. You might be able to keep a smail or a couple very small shrimp in here, but no fish.Marina Cool Clam Airstone, Blue

Marineland (Aquaria) AMLPFK55B Biowheel Aquarium Kit with LED Light, 55-Gallon

This MARINELAND 55 gallon Aquarium/LED Hood makes an excellent home for your finned friends. Ideal for freshwater or saltwater use and a variety of fish species, the aquarium allows for the ideal aquatic habitat. The ensemble's sophisticated design brings a stylish accent to your home.
Safe for freshwater or saltwater use
Ideal for a variety of fish species and size
Clear glass, black frame and black stand for durability
45 LEDs per hood provide ample lighting
Made in the USA
Gravel, plants and décor not included. Filter not included
----------------------------------------------
the first picture listed is not a 55-gallon tank, but probably around 30 gallons. my 55-gallon version has a hood that looks like this one, but is actually two of these hoods side-by-side. each has its own LED light with separate power control. that said, the second picture on the amazon listing, the one that is actually a 55-gallon tank, shows the tank with a different model hood than the newer, slimmer led version. i don't know if this means you will be getting the hood from the first picture or the second one.
i bought this tank kit from a local petsmart store in february 2012 for $200. got it home, unpacked it and set it up with really no problems at all.
all the hood, filter, and trim parts are plastic. the filter is the bio-wheel penguin 350, which holds a double filter and biowheel setup with adjustable intake. the filter is generally quieter than average for kit systems, and i am very pleased with it.
the led lighting comes from two led panels, one on either side of the split-hood. they are removable and come with detachable power cords. they are surprisingly bright, and provide a nice shimmer effect into the tank. however, they do not provide suitable light energy for a planted tank so don't expect to get good plant growth. there is also a night-light setting of a half-dozen blue led's per panel. the lights do not have a timer option, but instead a 3-way manual switch (white, off, blue) on each panel.
the tank also comes with a generic 200-watt heater and temperature sticker. the heater is not marked in degrees, but that's what the thermometer is for :) they seem to work ok, but i replaced the sticker thermometer with a more accurate floating style thermometer. there is also a startup pack that includes a small amount of tropical fish flakes, a net that's far too short to catch bottom-dwelling fish without getting wet up to the elbow, and a small amount of water conditioner. there are no decorations, gravel, air pumps, or other items included.
i am generally satisfied with my purchase. i let the tank cycle for a week before dropping in a couple danios and platies. if i notice any issues with components wearing out early or breaking too easily, i will come back and update this review.
***UPDATE***
as i write this, there's a version of this kit with the same hood as i received listed on amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Marineland-LED-Aquarium-Kit-Gallon/dp/B00780S098/ref=sr_1_5?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1353104901&sr=1-5&keywords=aquarium
since i'm here, i thought i would provide an update to my original review. the tank is still holding out very well. nothing has broken or fallen apart, except for the suction cups that were with the heating element. the clips deteriorated and fell apart within a couple months, but i bought some replacements and they've worked just fine. all the led's still work, and the filter is still churning away.
after 9 months of use, i can definitely say this marineland tank is a keeper. Why are there no measurements for this 55 gallon tank????? Who would buy this unless they knew everything about this tank from other sources. Unless you post the measurements I see no need to look at this aquarium. Just imagine how many more tanks you may have sold but most people and I am guilty of this, don't go forward and move on because there are no measurements. Hopefully this helps, Mike

Oceanic 82053 BioCube Protein Skimmer
Buy Oceanic 82053 BioCube Protein Skimmer Now
I've had protein skimmers before and have read some reviews that say don't buy this as it is undersized and ineffective but I have to be honest: it does its job, fits in my BioCube 29 with no modifications, and has required no adjusting at all in about 30 days of operation. The waste chamber is a bit small and has to be emptied every 2-3 days max or I'd give it 5 stars. Other than that, it is pulling a decent amount of protein out of the water as evidenced by what is in the chamber. Other more expensive units may pull out more but this is designed for a 14/29 gallon tank: there shouldn't be that much to pull out in the first place unless you are overfeeding or have die off. One tip: KEEP the factory particulate filter in place and just hang this unit on the filter itself. The instructions tell you to remove the mechanical filter and never tell you to place it back in. I don't recommend that as you'll end up with the bioball chamber filling with gunk. Just hang the skimmer in the middle of the filter so it is level and keep both protein and mechanical filtration in place. Works fine on the 29 gallon. Not sure about the 14.Read Best Reviews of Oceanic 82053 BioCube Protein Skimmer Here
You know I can almost see why so many people post negative reviews... My biggest complaint would have to be putting the unit in the center chamber of the biocube can be annoying to pull the top out to empty. I run my heater/filter cartridge in 1st chamber, skimmer in center, live rock cheato in third and I didn't have any problems but this unit has made my water crystal clear!!! But initially I was going crazy trying to figure out why it keeps OVERFLOWING with bubbles. There is a small adjustment wheel on the tubing from the pump. you really have to adjust this appropriately to get the skimmer to function correctly. After one day of running it was clear water. Here I am third day now. Yesterday and today I emptied murky brown water from the chamber and its getting darker as it breaks in. I know it may be frustrating but this product is worth 35 bucks! Just adjust it!!! I promise the bad reviewers did not properly adjust this! And considering your options are limited for biocubes anyway this is a good choice! This product is cheap. It barely pulls any wasted protein out to notice a change without it. It probably easier to just do constant water changes (which I do anyways) instead of trying to place this in the back of the BioCube and moving my heater into the actual tank.

Coralife Aqualight Dual Linear Strip T5 Aquarium Lighting Fixture
P.S. Someone on here claimed that finding non H.O. T5 lamps was difficult. All you have to do is google it and plenty of fish stores pop up that sell them. A little research goes a long way :-)
Buy Coralife Aqualight Dual Linear Strip T5 Aquarium Lighting Fixture Now
The biggest thing I want to point out is that the picture is very misleading. The picture shows individual switches for bulbs, for this particular fixture does not have, please be aware.+ The price is amazing for this great fixture including two bulbs
+ Very slim and sleek, much smaller than the picture and about an inch tall and two inches wide
+ It comes with both bulbs!
+ Runs very cool
+ Name brand
+ Extensions are nice for an open top setup
Only has one switch for the entire fixture
Acrylic instead of glass lens, which falls out easily
Extensions fall out easily with nothing to hold them in, but are easily removed
I have not used this over coral yet, it is sitting atop a spare 20 gal that I should have set up soon, updates pending. This is an excellent light I would recommend for any shallow reef or FOWLR tank setup.

I bought this light to add some suplemental lighting to my 75 gallon tank. Since it is a 48" long tank, it is difficult to find a light fixture at a decent price. This one was perfect. It is much smaller than the T8 tank that I had on my tank. I also think it is brighter than that one. I looked into buying new bulbs for the T8, but it was only slightly more to purchase this one than it was to replace the bulbs for my existing fixture. It it nice to have something smaller on the top of my tank.I was a little worried after buying this fixture because of the price compared to some of the lights available on the market. I have been completely pleased with this light. I have been using it for over 6 months now and it has never given me so much as an issue. For the price, it doesn't cost that much more than buying two replacement bulbs and it came with both a white and actinic. If you are looking for a fixture to put on your tank at an affordable price, then this is the light that you need.

As other reviewers said, this light fixture makes my 55g look like a show tank. The colors of my neon dwarf rainbows have NEVER looked so vibrant. The green [live] plants practically "pop" out at you. I am incredibly impressed. I also very much like its low profile. On the down side -also as other reviewers have said -until Amazon does a better job of packing this item, you're as likely as not to have it arrive broken. It arrived both times in a too-big box where it was allowed to rattle around during shipping. I returned the first [broken] one immediately and had the replacement in just a couple of days. Somehow, the second one didn't break. Nonetheless, be ready just in case to return a broken one.Update: After almost exactly nine months, this light fixture has fizzled out. Not burned out bulbs. The transformer-thingy [sorry] is dead. While is wasn't horribly expensive, I expected to last a bit longer than this. It's on a timer and runs/ran 13 hours per day.

Lee's Vegi Clip, Clown Fish
Amazon return is awesome. Full refund without needing to send it back. I trashed it right after I found out I didn't need to return it.Even though the picture that is shown of this item is a vaccuum tube, the actual item you will receive is the clownfish veggie clip.
They should really fix this error as im sure its costing them a lot of business. I took a chance on it being the veggie clip and it paid off. Thanks for nothing Amazon. You have the wrong d@mn picture posted on the ad. It cost too much to return a $4.00 item from kuwait!!! LOL Thanks for nothing. You must do better...

Zoo Med AquaSun T5-HO Double Light Linear Fluorescent Hood, 30-Inch
Its a great product, my plants were starving for light from the old light fixture. My tank is a 30gallon tank that came in a package that is sold at petstores and wal mart. Its very bright, only down side is that it does not sit flush with the top of the tank, which is good for tanks that have large aquatic plants that can grow above the water level but bad for fish that jump. Also, because it does not sit flush with the top of the tank light does escape out the front and back. But you just can't have a thriving plant tank with out proper lights and this light goes beyond expectations. The two light bulbs I used have 5,000k and 6,500k output and it has made a major difference in my plant growth.
The mounting brackets slide into the light fixture for a secure mount, so it wont slide and drop into the tank. The kit comes with (2) 4ft wire cords to screw into the top of the tank so you can hang it from the ceiling if you need more space for larger plants. The two light bulbs have independant on/off switch's but only one 3ft power cord. It keeps your timer from getting cluttered with two many power cords. You will need an extention cord if your outlet is farther that 3ft away from you light or your tank is up higher than mine..
The platic bulb cover slides out one side of the fixture to install light bulbs. There is a thin plastic wrapping on the glass from packaging, remove this film. It is very easy to clean, since the entire fixture is mounted on hinges.
From end to end the entire fixture is 32 inches wide and the mounting brackets can be positioned anywhere under the fixture, so this light will secure to any size tank 32inches wide or less.
Inside where the bulbs go, there is a reflector for maximum light exposure to the tank. The bulbs and reflector are protected by the clear plastic cover, so dust and algea can not reach them.
Can't beat the price or quality of this product. 5 stars...

I bought one of these lights locally. Its great. Provides plenty of light, and even has hinges on the brackets allowing you to easily flip up the fixture for maintenance and cleaning. The brackets are also adjustable, so you don't need them at the end, or use them at all. At nearly half the price of the GLO lighting, I feel this is a better deal. I am currently planning to buy more for my other tanks. I would defiantly recommended these lights for a cheaper (and just as durable) option for many of the T5 lighting available. If this is Zoo Meds entry into the aquarium market, they are off to a great start!Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med AquaSun T5-HO Double Light Linear Fluorescent Hood, 30-Inch Here
Good product, works as advertised. A few comments. Fixture does not include lamps, which is not explicitly stated that I could tell. I came to this conclusion before ordering, and think that it is still a decent value, but should be stated. Also, the fixture is rather deep, I am using it as a second light for a wide tanks, and it takes up a lot of room. The legs are very short, and are affixed to the fixture with a narrow tab of plastic that may be prone to break. I elected to use the included hanging kit, which works well.Want Zoo Med AquaSun T5-HO Double Light Linear Fluorescent Hood, 30-Inch Discount?
This tank light is perfect for my needs. Came with two mount options: 'clamps' that latch onto the side of the tank or you can suspend it with included aluminum/steel wire. I have not tried to suspend it as I have nothing above my tank. The clamp system works great. In fact, I don't even use the attached screws for the clamp as I clean my tank very often. I can just lift the entire thing up one side at a time and clean away. The light assembly generates very little heat as well, which is a plus.Saturday, March 1, 2014
Freeze Dried Bloodworms - 0.5 oz.
Buy Freeze Dried Bloodworms - 0.5 oz. Now
Ok, so how bizarre is it that I live in South Fla. and I'm paying top dollar for MOSQUITO LARVAE? Anyway, I have a large Black Ghost that is very shy and loves bloodworms, but will only eat late at night when all the lights are out.I ended up trying this product because all the local pet stores were out of the frozen bloodworms I usually feed him and I had to come up with something. I'll tell you what, these are much more convenient than frozen worms and the Ghost and all the other fish love them too. I predict I will be buying many more cans of this stuff. It's funny, this product is cheaper than another product on here that has "San Francisco Bay Brand" in the title. This is the same brand, same size, same product. Good quality, minimal dust. Helpful tip on the back to soak the worms before feeding. These are great, my fish seem to love them and they all swim to the top of the tank to eat them up. Personally I wish they sank to the bottom but they don't, they float. Which means all of the worms they dont eat get stuck to the side of the tank and are a pain to have to clean up. Over all though these are great.

Aquarium Pharmaceuticals (API) Phosphate Test Kit
The instruction page unfolds to be unnecessarily large so you can cut off the languages you don't need, which reduces its size by half. Comes with a salt and freshwater color card and tests concentrations from 0 10 ppm (mg/L)with the color card increments of 0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0 and 10.0 ppm. Ideally you want it to be zero to very low levels that should be undetectable with this kit. Product works well and clearly tells me when I need to make water changes.
