What can I say, I am slightly disappointed in the fish tank. It would be cute for a little girls room. The tank is really short, you have to bend or sit down to look at the fish. Mold also forms under the lid which I have to occasionally clean in order to prevent any build up.

This is the best filter I have ever owned. I put it on my 20 gal tank and it is spotless. It filters by water almost 40 times every hour. It is really easy to take care of too. Just add carbon every month and that's it. Read the directions carefully. HINT: The directions are a little incomplete. When filling the filter with water, fill it till it overflows. That way you can be sure it's full. If not,you get an annoying running water sound. That brings up another positive. When it is full and you have a good seal, it is very quiet. My tank is in my bedroom and I have no trouble sleeping with the quiet motor.

I love this filter for a medium sized tank. Has carbon, biological, and particle filtering all in one relatively small, and very quiet package.

My previous post: "When I tried to assemble the filter the Bio-Wheel coupling did not fit over the male portion of the Outlet Adapter BW Pro Tube from the filter. The Outlet Adapter Tube was not glued correctly such that the part that is supposed to couple with the Bio-Wheel is not at right angles and therefore impossible to line up with the coupling. I wrote to the supplier for a replacement Adapter Tube. Will update."

Now the update (belated): About 10 days after I sent the e-mail with photo to Big Al's Online I received the replacement part no charge. Filter and biowheel works perfect. I will definitely buy from Big Al's Online (through Amazon.com) again. I had used this filter before but without the biowheel. Simply love it. I especially like that I can have a clean micron filter ready to replace the dirty one and have the filter back to the tank running within 10 minutes without the mess. Highly recommended. I also use a Marineland PC0350PSB Magnum 350 for my bigger tank and love it for the same reason. When maintenance is easy you will do it regularly.

Added it to my 30g tank. It went from cloudy to clear crystal within 5 hours. I would recommend to add some Fluval Ammonia Remover within the mix of carbon. VERY easy to setup. me like.

I'm rating this 4 stars because it is a powerful filter and preforms well with my tank. The reason why I did not give 5 stars is because the picture was misleading on the parts that I would receive. ie: Syphoning hose & cardboard carton with added media or such were missing; with the first order and also the replacement order.

Amazon did take care of my situation; so I would recommend that you purchase from this seller.

Put one in the tank to see how it worked. It stayed at the surface with its dorsal fin sticking out. My Betta checked it out from every possible angle as soon as it was in the water and went back to his favorite spot laughing all the way. That was good I did not think my Betta could have taken a chunk out of it but did not think one would go down well. It says to have some current or moving water. I do and it soon went to the filter which creates a good current and just floated there. The current went just below so it stayed right there at the filter as if glued. All the other four in the bag were repeats other than my Betta took one glance and just shook his head at them. It looked nice to me (not my Betta) and if it floated about the ten gallon tank at all would have been a nice addition. Stuck in one place it has no attraction and would be just one more thing to clean. Had it sank to around mid level of the tank I think I would have been much pleased with its performance.

Great replacement bulb for my 46 gallon bow front tank. Much more "LED LIKE" color than my previous bulb. Have had it for a few months now, and is working great. The fish and plants seem to like it as well, no issues.

Light arrived well packaged, with no problems. Worked exactly as described. I have on a 37 bow front salt tank. Some corals (low light type). Works just fine and maintains the brightness I need in this tank.

Marineland PA0114-03 Magnum Carbon Container Sleeve, 3-Pack

Can't say too much about it becuase if your system takes this filter pad sleeve, then you have to buy it. And the pad does what it is suppose to do. I was surprise at how the price has gone up in recent years for this item. That is why I recommend washing the pads and reuse them until they begin to fall apart. The best way is to take it outside and use a strong stream of water from a garden hose. The water from the wash can also help your plants grow better.

Like a third of the price you would pay at a retail store for the SAME product. Works great on my Hot Magnum Filter.

I noticed that these will last a lot longer if you rinse it out with a strong hose rather than ringing it out in your sink.

This pump was just the right size for my 70 gallon freshwater aquarium. I may even need to adjust the flow settings to reduce it a bit because I will be planting. The sound from the pump is hardly noticeable; just a bit of background noise. The cord was sufficiently long for my setup. The only critique I had was that the pump did not come with the plastic feet attached; they required a bit of dexterity and persistence to push into place.

Kyjen Dog Games Moon Rover Rescue

This is a review for the Moon Rover Rescue toy. While touted as one of their more durable toys, I found the plush toys to be more durable than this!

I bought this as a replacement puzzle toy for one of my dogs, who adores plush toys and puzzle toys. The second dog I have is more destructive and you really have to watch him with toys. I was hopeful that the plastic would hold up better and the plush-lover would get more enjoyment out of his toy before it would get destroyed.

The moon rover was much too difficult to get into (or out of) the moon; neither dog was able to retrieve it. Within 30 minutes chunks of the moon were missing and the front part of the rover was chewed off as well. Even though we're thorough, we were picking up chunks of blue plastic around the play area for a few days. This purchase was a complete waste of $20.

The concept of this toy is really great. Ive been looking for something for my aussie to play with that will keep her occupied and that she cant destroy in 2 minutes. This one took her 5 minutes to destroy. the big rubber ball should be made a little tougher-out of what...i dont know. $20 down the drain.

The Rover Rescue ball is perfect for all sizes of dogs. I have 2 3 lb. yorkies and they love this toy. The little rover inside has a great squeeker. Rocky loves all types of squeaky toys but this one is the best, he has hours of fun trying to get the rover out of the moon ball. Whenever i have guests i let rocky play with the moon ball and the rover. It keeps him occupied for hours. Its perfect for little dogs with lots of energy. Rocky has little paws that way he can stick his paws in the moon ball and retrieve the rover. Its easy to clean unlike other squeaky toys just wash with water and let dry and its ready to keep him occupied and lets me entertain my guests.

Fluval Shrimp Mineral Supplement

As an avid fish keeper of both fresh and saltwater tanks I have learned over the years to only trust RO/DI water as my base water. However, shrimp require certain parameters to flourish which are unattainable in RO/DI. The instructions on the bottle are a little vague so I simply use my TDS meter to take the water to around 190-210 TDS for water changes (About 2.5ml per gallon). My Crystal Red shrimp SS+ grade are currently loving the water! Will update once the breed!

I think this product just hardens the water, but it does so effectively. The instructions say how much to put in, but they don't say how much per quantity of water... so you'll want to do some tests before subjecting your shrimp to the recommended dosage. Hope that helps. Vibran-Sea Fountain Fern Silk-Style Aquarium Plant, Extra-Large 18-19 tall, Green

This plant will not stand up. It bends in half and makes a plant tunnel that the fish love. It looks a little funky slumped over. It also gets very dirty quickly. I use a stiff brush to clean it off. I looks funny but us the fish's favorite.

These look great for the price. They stand up well when cleaning off algae, too. I used a 30 minute mild bleach soak (1/2 cup in 5 gallons water) followed by a thorough rinsing. They look brand new after 6 months.

I have a 45 gallon tank and though these would be nice to go from bottom to top, the only issue is that they fall over and then algae gathers and stains the leaves. I tried scrubbing it with lemon juice and salt and it did remove the algae, but they still had brown stains on them.

This is a great looking plant, so long as you don't mind the small plastic-looking connections between the leaf segments (aka. you won't mistake it for a real plant, but it still looks nice). It moves in the water and has a weighted bottom that makes it easy to anchor. It is definitely 18-19 inches, so it sticks out of the water a little bit in my 29g tank. I have it bent in multiple directions so it provides cover at all levels of my tank. Good price here on amazon (11.99 as of today).

The fish love them, they move naturally in the water, and look nice. I ususally do natural planted tanks, but decided to go with silk plants in the 55 gallon for now. These are a great alternative and fill the space nicely and are much cheaper on Amazon than at the pet store.

I have updated this review May, 2013 to talk about the product, too.

This light has been in service for almost two years, now. It has performed well and provides adequate light for my entire freshwater tank.

It has not failed. Maybe you will have good luck with it, too. I have found it to be superior to their earlier product in every way.

I was loathe to buy it, because I was very unhappy with the manufacturer. It was the best product available for my specific application.

As I explained in my original review...

I have the previous generation Powerbrite LED systems. I have 2 10K modules, about 16 months (warranty is one year), and one module just went bad two out of four LEDs failed (so far).

The other module is still working OK, so I assume I got a defective module. OK, this sort of thing happens. It's always especially frustrating when it happens just a little ways out of warranty.

Since it's really just a small period out from under warranty, I contacted support to see if it could be repaired. No. And it cannot be replaced, since that model is out of production. Too bad. Throw the whole thing away.

Overall, until the failure, I was relatively satisfied with the product, which I realize was a very early LED solution I was an early adopter.

But the company is a different story. I contacted customer support, and expected them to do something anything at all to make me happier or at least feel better about about doing business with their company.

Support was professional, but offered nothing beyond, "sorry can't help you."

And it's really kind of a total loss, because I can't even carry over the old power supply to their current offerings.

For me as an unsatisfied consumer, there is a surprising hole in that there is no way to pass feedback on to the company about my consumer experiences.

I guess it's another immature hi-tech engineering-oriented company whose focus is really just on developing new products.

Although their products do not have the water depth penetration of some of their competitors, they have an alluring product line.

My experience leads me to caution potential buyers that Current may not offer much support for what they sell if you run into trouble.

And a year goes by pretty quickly these days.

I would like to write the CEO to very politely tell him what my experience was with his company's product and why I chose to replace it with a different manufacturer's product.

This consumes my personal time and energy, but I frequently do this just to make sure the management has a good picture of what's going on within the company they head.

He/she's not possible to find in fact no individual is and the company offers no avenue for customer feedback.

I have a message in to support asking who I can contact to pass on my feelings about their products. No response.

That's not a corporate culture I want to encourage with my business, which is a shame I think they have innovative products.

Maybe support has gotten better with time.

After a lifetime in hi-tech, I think these companies have a vested self-interest in helping the aquarist community feel ready to make the leap to LED lighting solutions.

I don't know what it is like to deal with some of the companies offering higher-priced solutions, but with Current, it looks like you are on your own, working without a net. Offering me a partial trade-in would have gotten these guys my support. Giving me someone to talk to would have been a good start. Being unwilling to even explain why they were unwilling to do either is just a good way to lose my business.

Fluval Chi Boxwood and Tall Grass Aquarium Ornament

This is a perfect ornament for the Fluval Chi. As mentioned by another reviewer, it seems that people are confusing two separate items. The "Large Mountain" ornament is the larger piece that's meant to be placed in the submerged plant box inside the aquarium; the "Waterfall Mountain" is the smaller ornament that's meant to be placed in the pebble box/topper on top of the filter. My beta's tank was getting a little blah, so to speak, so I thought I'd spice it up a bit with a new decoration! I have the Fluval Chi 6.6g aquarium and just had some rocks in the basket with a bamboo sculpture in the middle of it. I came to amazon (my go to site that has never failed me) looking for something to spice things up a bit. I saw the Fluval Chi lily pad and plant decoration and thought that it would match perfectly with my beta, Petri. I read some reviews saying that the whole decoration just wouldn't stay put at the bottom and that it would float to the top which made me a bit weary. I decided to purchase it anyways because it just looked so cool and for $10, I figured I wasn't really going to lose much if it turned out to be a dud. Now, two days later, my decoration has arrived! Alas, the reviews about the whole piece floating turned out to be true. Luckily I used a tiny bit of brain power to apply a quick fix and you'd never be any wiser unless I told you. You see, there are spaces at the bottom of the grass piece because the grass "sprouts" in patches, if you will. So the spaces in between the grass are perfect little hiding spots for a few rocks. And as we all know, rocks sink! Ta-da! No more floating decoration. This turned out to be a much easier fix than trying to tie the whole thing down or just tossing it out and loosing $10 bucks. It now looks amazing in my tank and I do believe my beta has a bit of a spring in his swim, thanks to his new, spectacular decoration... (Although that may just be me attempting to apply human-like characteristics to an animal that could care none the less. But hey. At least one of us can truly enjoy it!)

I use this tank ornament in 2.5 gallon drum bowls with my bettas... I rotate it through each of my tanks and all of the fish just love it. I was worried when I ordered it online that the whole thing would float, since the plant, in a Fluval, is intended to be mounted upside down (I think)... but actually this is PERFECT for a standard tank this size or slightly larger. Don't buy it for your 1-1.5 gallon; I tried. Plant too big.) At first, placing it the way I wanted it was a challenge. Now I fill the tanks with three or four inches of water, place the ornament, and then pour the gravel in on top of it and spread it out. This weighs down the gridded bottom perfectly. Then I finish filling the tank with water. The two tendrils are absolutely gorgeous and provide a hiding place and as well as an engaging activity for the fish, who love to swim around and between them. It also helps me provide variety in my tanks, since the tendrils can be moved around, lengthened, and tangled gently as you see fit.) They are actually secured with a simple knot to the gridded plastic of the mat, so you can adjust them if you like (I made mine shorter.) They are a smooth, rubbery material that is seamless and provide no threat to betta fins. The leaves in the center are more of a burgundy than a fuscia as seen in the photo, but poseable and the fish like to rest on them. The colors look good with my blue, red, and black/purple fish. The lily pads are simple and realistic, which is nice, so they don't stand out. They give a nice Asian feel to the tank and I still have room to add a rock sculpture, bridge, elephant, or stack of pebbles. I am here now online again looking for similar accessories... I want an orange one! You can't go wrong with this tank decoration!

Vine is like any other cheap vine, you just pay more for the name on the package. Looks nice, but is a pain in the butt bc it stays tangled up in itself. Ended up throwing mine away
