Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10.3 oz, (304)ml
allow me to reseal it completely due to the amount of silicone most commercial pet stores offer. Buying this is the same price,if not cheaper, of the overprice smaller tubes pet stores offer. Even after completely sealing my 55 gallon long tank, I still have about only less than 1/4 left. Plus it is easier with a caulking gun as you will need to work fast before it starts curing.
This stuff is very clear after curing like brand new silicone from today's fish tanks. But differs due to how well you prep your tanks.

I had a resin birdbath that started leaking because the caulk had pulled away just from exposure to the outside elements. Most of the caulks I checked into were NOT safe for birds, animals, or humans (folks it sure is worth the time to read the FINE print....read the warnings on bathtub caulk) and I needed one that would be ok to be submersed in water. After reading the other reviews, I chose this brand and it has not disappointed me in its performance. the fountain is up and running and NOT leaking! The only improvement I can see would be if the manufacturer would carry smaller tubes of it....what a waste.Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10-1/2-Ounce, 292-GramMAY 2013
Sadly, the "fix" was shortlived. I would not recommend this product. Now the birdbath has found a new use and is a beautiful planter for portuluca, cacti, and other cascading desert plants.

Bought this to reseal an old 30 gallon tank. it wasn't leaking but turtles I had started to rip up the original seal. I washed tank out, ripped out as much of the old seal as possible, and after a good drying, resealed with this sealant. It's been more than a month and so far so good. Now with the left over of the sealant I plan on adding some mods like internal overflow box to one of my other tanks. I've got some acrylic glass pieces lying around so figure why not now that I have the sealant. Just a note you probably want to use this somewhere well ventilated since it gives off a strong vinegar like smell as part of the curing / drying process.

I know the temperature controls on these in tank heaters can be off by a few degrees. Do not set this one and walk away!Have it in a 20 gallon long, fits nicely and doesnt take up much room at all.

The only thing that doesn't work for my tank is the razor. My tank is oval in the front, and it is hard to scrape with the razor. It is also sometimes hard with the brush, but it gets the job done.Read Best Reviews of TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 22 Length Here
I was very dissappointed with this product. I have a 150gal tank which had some very heavy algae build up along the inside glass walls so purchased this item with the intent of using the razor blade attachment to scrape off the majority of the debris but discovered due to the flimsy plastic handle did not have the ability to do the job nor the scrub pad which was way too soft to work either. Got creative and found a 2ft 1/2" conduit pipe left over from an old electrical job a slide it down over the plastic handle. The pipe actually fit perfectly over the flimsy plastic handle and now I had the ridgid strength to scrape the glass walls better. This is the first product I purchased from Amazon that did not work as advertised. The company that designed this product must not have tested it much and don't recommend it at all.Want TOM Aquarium Maintenance Algae Scraper Multi Tool 22 Length Discount?

Zoo Med African Mopani Wood, Medium (Sizes May Vary)
To remove a lot of the tannin, clean the sink out, and place wood in sink. Boil water enough to cover the wood, let sit until water cools. Repeat this a few times until the water is mostly clear after cooling.I ordered the Zoo Med Mopani wood in size medium from Entirely Pets. It was supposed to be 10-12" long, but when it came it was 20" long! I will have to saw it in half to fit my tank. No fault on Entirely Pets part as the tag put there by Zoo Med said size medium. Since the photo that accompanies this item is always the same, I thought I'd tell you what mine looks like. It is orange tone on top and chocolate on the bottom. The width varies from 2 1/2" to 4" and the top is rounded with a flat, almost hollowed-out bottom. So, if you wanted to angle it across your aquarium from the top, you'd probably want to keep the back to the back of the tank. There is a nice knot at one end of the main root and two smaller roots crossing at the other. There are plenty of small holes and protuberances for fish, snails, and freshwater shrimp to explore for food.
I can't speak to the leaching part, because I haven't placed it in the tank yet.
Much, much later: boil the heck out of this for two hours and then soak for weeks to get the tannins mostly out or it will stain your water whiskey brown and maybe lower the pH a bit. If you have an open top aquaria and let some of the wood stick out you will notice that the wood in the water actually gets a lot less orange than that part sticking out of the water. Do not let wood stick out of water if you have a hood. The humidity causes fuzzy mold problems on the wood. Do not use in brackish water tanks as mine rotted within two weeks in one. It really stunk up the tank for weeks then (boggy smell).

I am getting ready to buy three more pieces of this mopani wood for my new tank. I purchased a small piece for my firzt tank, a ten gallon, and I was very pleased. I was nervous buying online because I could not choose the shape, but I think that because this is a real piece of wood, no matter what it is going to look natural, because, well, it's nature!! The colors are beautiful, copper and red, to light and dark brown. I had read that mopani wood wouldn't rot like driftwood, but would leach color into the tank and while it wouldn't be bad for the fish, could be displeasing to look at. Not wanting to deal with tinted water for weeks, and not wanting to wait weeks to soak it outside my tank, I decided to boil my wood. I boiled my piece for about an hour and a half, changing the water every fifteen minutes or so. After several water changes, the water was coming out much lighter. There was still a little color in the cooking water when I decided to move the wood into my tank, but I never noticed any difference in my tank water's color so enough must have boiled out at that point. I also noticed that the color seemed enriched after the boiling, but I think this is because I used a gas stove and didn't flip the wood. The bottom of the piece was significantly darker than the rest of the wood, so I think the direct heat from the flame inderneath may have started to burn the tannins or something. I liked how it looked, but you may want to flip yours to prevent this, should you try boiling it. I have not noticed any slime, or pests.... but this could also be from the boiling. Long story short, I suggest boiling. Seems to have a lot of advantages, and I already have a "Fish Pot" laying around from my regular maintanece, so I didn't have to ruin my good cookware. (Not that it would have... I see no staining on the pot) Did I mention that it looks great in my tank with a few stones and plants, and that my fishies love it?Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med African Mopani Wood, Medium (Sizes May Vary) Here
We bought this for our 50 gallon and its a beautiful piece of hard wood! That being said we did place ours into a big kettle of boiling water turn off the flame and let it steep till cool to remove some of the natural tannins..upon reflection we should have done this at least twice because it did indeed cause our water to have a slight tea colored tinge to it after a couple of weeks. A change of charcole and a %20 water change restored our crystal clear water again, however it is beginnning to look a little tea colored again but not nearly as much. I suspect it will be gone completely after the next change down the road. Placing the wood in the boiling water also has the benefit of sterilizing it as well! I do not regret buying this it is a very interesting addition to our tank.Want Zoo Med African Mopani Wood, Medium (Sizes May Vary) Discount?

Zoo Med Floating Betta Log
It looks like after a few months, his log started to wear away. I noticed color loss to reveal the grey beneath, and didn't worry too much. I just washed his toy and stuck it back in. I wish I had checked with nylon again! Make sure to check and make sure there are no sharp edges every few weeks. Unfortunately I had no luck sanding down the sharp spots.
Jack loved his toy while it lasted, and I would recommend it to other betta users. HOWEVER, make sure it isn't sharp so your little fishy friend doesn't get any injuries. My blue super delta tail Ramses is a tail biter. I have been trying to pinpoint the cause of his tailbiting. I recently bought the floating betta log with hopes that it was boredom that was causing my baby to bite his fins (it was not). I have to admit it took Ramses awhile to figure out that his log is for his amusement and to give him a place to feel safe and secure. He loves to swim through his log. Bettas love to swim through things. I recently caught him resting in his log with part of his caudal fin sticking out which was too cute. I should note that I have Ramses in a large Kritter Keeper which is approximately 3 gallons, perfect for his floating log. To keep it from moving all over the place, his log is wedged between some fake plants which he has easy access to swim in and out of. I have heard that the paint chips off the log after awhile so I am going to watch mine very carefully and suggest to people to do the same to be safe than sorry. Overall I think it was well worth the money I spent on my boy Ramses.

This is great for Bettas. All mine love the log and enjoy swimming in it and resting in it. The only bad thing about the log is that it chips off easily. I've had mine since June and it's already had it's share of wear and tare. It's a great product though, one that I'd recommend, but for the price and how badly it lasts, not something for the long haul.Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med Floating Betta Log Here
After eyeing this item on Amazon for a couple months, I was pleasantly surprised to find it available at my local Petsmart! Hooray!I have my betta fish in a Marineland Eclipse 2.5 gallon tank. I only had a small plant (with a couple leaves) in there for a decoration, but realized the gentle current of the pump was still too strong for my betta. So, I was on the hunt for tank decorations. Because this tank is longer vertically than horizontally, there isn't alot of surface area of water at the top.
However, the betta log still has just enough space to float around. A little cramped, but still OK. So, you should only buy this betta log if you have a horizontal tank or a 2.5 gallon or larger tank. Definitely check the measurements of the betta log and the opening of your tank to see if you can squeeze it in passively into the tank. If it is too cramped, I'm afraid that the log could drift and pin the betta against the wall of the tank!
My betta loves it this product. He isn't always hanging out inside, but he enjoys being in there sometimes. The log is also helpful because it significantly slows the water current from the pump, allowing my fish to hover more easily at the top without being hassled.
Check out the photo I took!THIS IS PERFECT FOR THE BETTA I HAVE IN A 5 GALLON AQUARIUM. HE SWIMS THROUGH IT ALL OF THE TIME. HOWEVER, I DO THINK IT WOULD BE TOO LARGE FOR ANY SMALLER TANKS.

I love this product! It's a little big for my 20 gallon tank, but I use it every time I do a water change or as a holding pen for my fish to be transported. I have a HOB filter that needs to be filled with water before turning it on, so this is a great use for it. I can easily scoop up some tank water and pour just the right amount to get it started. I've also used it as an observation container, as it can hang on the side so that you can see how your new fish will react to the current occupant in the tank. Is this a necessary item? -No, but it's very nice to have.Read Best Reviews of TOM Aquarium Accessories Dip & Pour Multi-Purpose Container, Large Here
Pretty much the exact same little plastic hang on boxes that they use to collect fish at the petstores, but they don't sell themwell here they are! I bought the small and the large sizes. The small is definitely for drip-acclimating small coral frags or small inverts. The large size is more multi-purpose.Want TOM Aquarium Accessories Dip & Pour Multi-Purpose Container, Large Discount?
I really like these. The large are just that large; but they still hang off all three of my fish tanks perfectly (55g, 30g, and 10g).
