Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2oz

Maybe this food is meant for feeding something other than a mixed freshwater community tank. Nothing would touch it. Fish like tetras, glass cats, betta fish, Siamese algae eaters (that eat any other food), and even red cherry shrimp. Nobody seemed to recognize it was actually food. Maybe the Fish eggs would've been more appropriate for my needs but I plan on waiting for reviews on the next NutriDiet product I try, if there will be a next time.

It's fair to point out that the description for this listing is wrong. It talks about mealworms while this is fly larve. I'm a big fan of many Seachem products but this was a complete flop that ended up in the trash in less than a week. I can't say if larger fish would eat it or not. That may be what this food is for, but with no accurate description for this listing it's hard to know.

I bought this directly from Amazon. When I opened it, it didn't look so great. I don't' know how it should look but today I happened to look at the bottom of the can and saw it expired TWO YEARS AGO. They are shipping out products that expired two years ago! Check around, you will see a lot of things are being shipped expired. That should be illegal.

I use this carbon insert in the chemical cup of my 50 gallon Sea Clear aquarium. I will continue to use it. The three pack works for me I expect this box to last about four months. Buying the loose carbon and putting into your own bag may work for some but I cannot see dealing with the loose carbon. I just take a bag out, rinse, and insert into the chemical receptor !

This is the most important part of the overall product to keep updated. I believe the changes are suggested monthly you should really keep up with this monthly-month and a half. Since these Bags on Board Cat Scoop Refills were offered at a ridiculously low price, I decided to take a chance that they would fit my doggie bag holders and they do fit both models I currently use! I planned to tie a roll onto the leash with a rope if they didn't fit, but no need. The bags are less stiff, thinner, are a prettier blue than the orange ones they've replaced, and I only wish I'd stocked up on more when the price was great. Because the bags are thinner, they are easier to maneuver, weigh less and take less time to degrade in the landfill where they will spend some time. I've never bought replacement rolls because it was too easy to use newspaper bags and deflated air pillows, but these are so much easier to carry and less distasteful for disposal. They are the same size as the dog bags and for the life of me, I can't imagine how a lot of heavy litter can fit in this bag. If you use it for a single scoop or two of just what needs to immediately be removed as I believe it is marketed, I can see how it would work well. These are not for emptying an entire tray of litter. Because these are really lightweight, they are perfect for the dog walking purpose. Usually using two bags per day, these will go quickly and I hope Amazon soon reduces the price to entice more of us dog lovers to take advantage of a product that's marketed to cat owners but is imprinted with pictures of little doggies.

I bought this to use with the dispenser for dogs. I don't know why this is only advertised as being able to be used with the cat scoop, it's almost half the price of the bags advertised for dogs!

I bought the scoop and bags mostly for the bags being earth friendly. The bags are too small, sure they fit the scoop, but my cat pees all in one corner so the clump can get huge. Therefore won't fit in this narrow bag just wide enough for the scoop itself.

The scoop itself is ok, but I still have my old scoop and I prefer it because the litter flows throw my old scoop better than this one.

Bottom line: if you have a cat that makes just small to mediuim sized clumps, then this product might be ok. I personally find no value in having the bags inside the hande of the scoop. In fact I think the feel of the scoop is cumbresone.

I like that these litter bags are a green product and will break down in the landfill. My only dislike is the bags are narrow in size. I use a bag lined coffee can to collect the soiled litter in. With two cats I have to scoop at least once, sometimes twice, a day. When it's full, I pull the bag and dispose in the garbage. These bags aren't wide enough to secure over the container. Otherwise, they are great.

I recently purchased the Sea Clear System II 50 gallon aquarium for one red-eared slider turtle. Initially I thought it was quite expensive. After unboxing it and seeing what comes with the aquarium I'll say it pays for itself in most ways. I didn't have any problem setting this aquarium up (and I'm fairly new at this); the instruction booklet is simple. I did call customer service but didn't get any response so along that line this company gets a 'D' grade. I took away a star for this! Otherwise, the aquarium deserves five stars!

The box contains: aquarium, hood (without bulb), and all filter media pre-filter and biological. The media is already in the appropriate chamber! It has the latest (high quality bio-balls) media. I inserted a package of Aqua Clear carbon in the chemical cup at the back AquaClear 50 Activated Carbon, 2-2/5 Ounce. The aquarium pump also oxygenates the water if you want to put more oxygen in your water you may use an additional air pump according to the instruction booklet. I chose not to the aquarium pump is doing a wonderful job. There is space at the back of the tank for a protein-skimmer and heater (for those who want a salt-water set-up).

The Sea Clear manufacturer suggests a 10-20% water change every one to three weeks that is all that is needed for maintanance of the aquarium. It's about that time so I'm going to do a 20% water change even though the water LOOKS crystal clear I'm supposed to.

I also purchased a Python(25 foot)water changing kit 25 Foot Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, which I used to fill the aquarium, and an acrylic cleaning mitt Python Algae Mitt Cloth for Aquarium. Acrylic aquariums supposedly scratch easily so I didn't want to take any chances. I have a submersible heater (Aqueon) AQUEON SUBMERSIBLE HEATER Size: 200 WATT which keeps my turtle's water at 78-80 degrees. NOTE: Python's website has a video showing how to do water changes / gravel cleaning for your aquarium!

Red-eared sliders are messy animals but my tank (water) is always crystal clear it looks beautiful. I was able to get a Penn-Plax Turtle Topper Penn Plax Turtle Topper Above Tank Basking Platform REP600 on top too for additional heat, basking and UVA/UVB light! My turtle appears very happy! Only disappointment is an actual bulb doesn't come with this aquarium for the hood. So, if you have fish you would need to read the manufacturer's booklet / suggestion for which hood light to buy.

Everything was easy and I would recommend Sea Clear System II. I haven't been able to find a lower price for the Sea Clear System II than Amazon ($485.50) although another website had free shipping on the Sea Clear System II itself, I purchased the equipment from Amazon.

Turtle appears to be happy with a good appetite and lots of energy!

The plant was VERY tiny, smaller than a golf ball, and there was only one leaf growing from the rhizomes. There does appear to be some evidence of new growth, however, so I'll have to see how it progresses long term. In my opinion it definitely does not measure up to this seller's usual high quality plants.

After 10 months I thought I would write an update to my review on this item. These plants are not as "full" as you might think from the picture, but they are still a lovely addition to my aquarium. I was looking for plants that had some realism, and these fit the bill. These are too tall for a 10 gallon aquarium, but they fit well in my 20 or 30 gallon tanks. These are the best aquarium plants I own for one reason... they protect my live fry right after they have been born. This is the plant that my guppy fry always go to for rest after their delivery. It keeps them safe from their "mommy and daddy's" until they are strong enough to swim. If you are trying to raise your own fry these plants are a must for your aquarium!

It looks quite decent but I strongly recommend you to soak and wash for about a week.

I soaked the two plants it came with in a small bowl for a week, and when I was drowning the water out of the bowl, the water was completely foamy. I soaked in warm water until the foam mostly resided. Then I placed it in my fish tank for about a week with all of my other new artificial plants and rocks and filtered the water for a week, keeping my fish in a different tank. My fish are fine. And they enjoy having places to hide.

These came wrapped in a plastic bag. I had to soak them in hot water to stretch them out and clean them.

Once in the aquarium the plants gently sway as a result of the filter flows. It provides a pleasing effect.

What can I say very nice. I don't like that the colors are not natural, to bright but in several weeks algae forms and it makes little difference. I'm not a guy who takes them out and soaks them in a light clorox solution and lets them dry in the sun for two days.so what's the diff.

I ordered this plant, along with an assortment of other Vibran-Sea plants through Amazon.com. All the items arrived looking beautiful -except this one. These are not packaged well -the leaves are completely exposed, and the plant I received looked as if it had been kicked along a warehouse floor. I returned it to Amazon, and the replacement I got was no better. I decided it was not worth my time or effort to go through another return, so I used a lighter to clean up all the frayed edges and used an iron on the lowest setting to straighten out the creases. The plant is passable now, but not worth the headache. I only give this two stars because the hope that someone may receive one undamaged. It would probably then be pretty nice -but don't count on it.

Plant is okay, it does sway in the water and it is silk, much better than a plastic plant, but the leaves do not stand up well, most of the leaves tend to fall down and lay on the floor of tank, some will stand and sway, but the others do not, price is good, but leaves could of been made a little stronger. They are still nice to have in tank.

API Liquid Fungus Cure, 4-Ounce

Killed the living fungus quite well but once I started phasing out it slowly started growing back... not sure if this can't kill the spores or if something else is responsible so I won't dock stars from it but you decide if you want it. I will say once it went in the water the fish recovered quickly! Also a downside, it is bright green and the directions for removing the green involve activated carbon filters which many new aquariums don't use so removing the green is a difficult and lengthy process.

Cascade® Internal Submersible Filters for Aquariums - UL Listed

The Cascade 300 inline filter is a good cheap filter for a five or 10 gallon tank that requires a slow to medium current (I use it in 5gal betta tanks) but I would not recommend it in anything bigger as any bio-load over 'light' would overwhelm it.

It has a bio-sponge section and a "Disposable Carbon filter Cartridge" that they want you to buy in packs. I pried open the cartridge it came with to find low grade carbon pellets so I replaced them with Marineland Black Diamond Premium and it works even better now.

I use two Cascade 600 filters in my 55 gallon aquatic Xenopus (African Clawed Frog) tank. As they like to hang at the surface of the water, mate, and eat without getting blown around by a high current, they are happy with the fact that the flow rate is low because I can turn the outlet away from the center of the tank and into the back tank wall. Because they like to excrete that which they consume in large amounts, I am happy that their tank is kept clean between water changes. For larger amphibian tanks, these filters are quite effective AND low in price. More effective in a larger tank than Duetto internal filters. I have Duetto filters in smaller 10-20 gallon tanks for amphibians and find that the Cascade filters are better for larger tanks. You can use the nozzle shown on the box picture or you can use a bar that is included with the filter. They are big, bulky filters that take up space in the tank, but this is the downside of filtration that has low currents. I can not testify as to longevity of the item, but I have been willing to risk the purchase as for the time being we are all very happy. Buy if you want good filtration with a low flow rate at a good price.

I have a red eared slider turtle and his home is a 55 gallon tank. He makes quite a mess in his home and I have gone through at least 4-5 different filters in the 2+ years that I have had him. I've tried the external filters that sound like a constant waterfall only to have it short out. So then I decided to look at submersible filters and went through about 2 of those before I found this. At first I was frustrated because the water started to turn green and it was as though it wasn't working. Miraculously one morning I woke up and the water was crystal clear and has been since then. It's quiet and Homer LOVES to float in front of the water being pushed out. He puts his little head in his shell and let's the water just shoot over top of his shell.

To sum it up it's powerful, quiet and Homer loves the water coming out of the filter. I would absolutely recommend this!!!!!!

I've been using it within the frame of a week now and so far it's doing great. It's more than powerful enough to clear out my 55 gallon tank. I'm going to have to buy a longer air-hose for it so I can put it at the bottom of my tank, but that is cheap and easy to do. Other than that it seems to be the best water pump that I've ever used.

I got this filter for my 10 gallon Amazon River species tank. To start off with, I think Penn-Plax (maker of cascade products) really deserves more recognition. Their stuff has been compared to higher end brands like Fluval and Aquaclear. Like the Aquaclear you can put what ever media you want inside the compartment. You can hook the nozzle up to the provided airline tube (does not need air pump) so it can draw in air and spray out bubbles. Another option is to use the spray bar that comes with it. Since it draws the water straight through the media as a canister filter would, it is A LOT more efficient, allowing it to have a lower GPH. I also like that the pump comes AFTER the media, making sand and other abrasive particles less likely to damage the impeller. It can be fully submerged, and oriented sideways and still operate. You can also attach a tube to it allowing it to be used as a filter pump in a vivarium. It has an adjustable flow, which is a really useful feature. I really like this product and would recommend it to someone on a tighter budget. If you are searching for a filter for your first tank and can't afford a tetra, Aquaclear, and other higher end filters, I would really recommend this, in fact, I would still recommend this even if your not on a tight budget. If you are setting up your first tank I pray it goes well and remember to cycle!!!

I ordered this item along a similar product, Exotic Environments Stick Up Aquarium Ornament with suction cup back "Red Sea Reef with Brain Corals". Please note that the product featured on this page has a flat side that is intended to snug up against a wall or flat surface. Nice color and the suction cups seems to be pretty strong...it stuck on the wall of my tank without slipping even before the water was added. Keep in mind that these pieces are kind of chunky...almost as thick as they are wide. Wish they were a little larger and maybe flatter to cover more of the surface of my overflow box without sticking so far into the tank. Even so, they are a neat accent piece and I will probably be looking for a few more like it to decorate the back wall of my tank.

The most quiet air pump I have ever owned. I was a faithful customer of Hagen and Tetra air pumps but got fed up with the noise... then I tried Rena. I have a 55 gallon tank with an arowana who are super sensitive to changes especially when the oxygen in the water changes. this tank is in the living room. When they were good, they were very, very good and when they were bad, they were horrible.

I'm apparently slowly working my way through Amazon's stock of Rena Air Pumps.

First I ordered a 400. It was LOUD (bumped a quiet room from 40 to 46db at 1m (kind of making me seriously question Rena's 30db at 1m claims). Once plugged in, it turns out it generated no power on one side. The 400 is supposed to be two 300s in the same enclosure. I'd bought one 300 and one noise maker that didn't push any air. Fortunately, Amazon are awesome about returns.

Given the 400 was only 50% successful, I replaced it with two 300s. That way, if one was faulty, I could keep using the other one while I sent the faulty one back. It's $10 more than a 400 but keeps the tank aerated in case of issues. I'm very glad I did. Sure enough, one works well while one makes a lot of noise and can't drive air through the airlines, let alone produce the air a borrowed 200 is producing.

The lessons I'm learning here are:

1) Rena's quality is *very* variable. You can get very good ones. And you can get very bad ones. I'm running at about a 50% success rate (counting the 400 as two pumps as it is exactly that two x 300s inside one enclosure).

2) If it's running very loud or barely putting out air, even after you adjust the flow control, you likely got a bad one.

3) Decibels are an incredibly subjective measure. What does 30db at 1m recorded in a silent room really mean in your home? With a TV on, with background noise, it shouldn't be too noticeable. In a quiet room while you're home alone, expect to easily hear it through an aquarium stand and for it to be approaching the noise of a running fridge. If it's louder than the fridge and the airflow is poor, you've likely got a bad one.

4) Order in pairs so you've got something to compare to and can return one if it's noticeably louder or produces noticeably less air. Having one on its own, with nothing to compare to, just leads you to questioning your judgment.

5) Get used to the idea you'll possibly have to return a couple until you get a good one. Fortunately, Amazon's great about this.

6) If returns annoy you, don't get the 400. If there's a 50:50 chance of getting a faulty 300, you now have a 75:25 chance of at least one side of the 400 being faulty. Plus, if one 300 fails later, you've still got one pump. If one of the two 300 pumps inside the 400 fails, you've now got a loud unit to either deal with or entirely replace.

This pump lives up to the hype! It is a little pricey but maybe you do get what you pay for. I'll know more a year from now. Up to this point it is a good working , QUIET pump.

I upgraded my Fluval Spec 3 pump with this one. It fits perfect and it is putting a great current through my tank.

If being made in Italy is supposed to make this product better than it doesn't.

I bought 2 of these because they're cheap and low flo for a small refugium and other project.

One arrived non functioning, it spins but no water movement which is very odd.

The second one is working but every now and then the pump makes some loud noise like air is stuck in it but there's no venturi. It was cleaned recently due to the noise but didn't fix it.

Their pumps are pretty mediocre, overpriced, and fragile.

I'd bought these and larger Hydor pumps due to a sale and I'd figure I try this brand.

I will go back to Marineland MJ pumps that I had no issues with.

I don't know if buying the carbon in a one pack is the same as buying it in the 3 pack, but the 3 pack carbon I bought from Aquaclear had an eerie odor when I opened the packages. I would suggest that people buy their own activated carbon in bulk and pack it yourself in these nylon bags that you can buy separately for about three dollars.

This is by far the best bulb I have had in my tank. I have a 5 gal tank with 4 Glo Fish. I have tried 4 different bulbs. Clear Blue Black light and this one. This is BY FAR the best one for the vibrant colors of my fish!! I very highly recommend this bulb.

I have seen this product and thought that it was awesome. I know there are other brands; but this one was the cheapest. I installed the bulb and it worked perfect for the first 2 days. Then I noticed that it was getting brighter and brighter every day; meaning that the bulb was turning clear. After about 4 days, it was a clear bulb with the tip still blue, but the color faded very quickly. I don't know why this would happen; unless it was a fake bulb.

This product is great! I am actually using it for a 5 gallon crabitat (hermit crab habitat) as opposed to an aquarium. It works wonderfully for what I need it for! The typical white light was drying out my crabitatsucking out the moisture and dropping the humidity VERY quickly. This blue light not only looks cool, but it also puts off less heat and thus keeps my crabitat from turing into a desert in less than an hour. I still wouldn't recommend leaving the light on very long if you use it for hermit crabs, as it still does produce heat and evaporates some of the humidity, but it is MUCH better than a regular white light. Also, for the price, this truly is an excellent product.

I cut it mine so I could use it to power two air stones from my air pump. They fit the tubing pieces well.

We recently had to replace our old pump, but the tubing didn't work with the new one. We ordered this and it's great because you can tell it's durable and having so much of it means that if anything did happen to this we could cut another length without having to buy another tube. It works perfectly and it seals tight with the new pump and air stone, so the output into our tank is just amazing.

Great for what it is supposed to be. Just an air tube. I purchased this to air-rate water for plants and the vinyl smell consumed the water. Be sure to throw away first batches of water or soak in vinegar before use.

Perfecto Glass Canopy 48 Inch

Many tropical fish enthusiasts end up interested in one of the aspects of aquarium fishkeeping involving better lights than the standard combo hoods that come with beginner aquarium kits (mostly black plastic with a glass insert and weak flourescent light strip).

I am into planted tanks, which require more intense lighting. I use compact flourescents. As a result, a glass cover is necessary, to allow as much light in as possible. Also, in this northern climate, it is required to retain heat, reduce evaporation, and prevent hatchet fish from jumping to their doom on the floor.

Perfecto/Marineland's "glass canopies" are great. I have several.

Heads up though, on compatibility.

In my local area, aquariums (aquaria) are avaialbe from two manufacturers -"All Glass" and "Perfecto (Marineland)." I had both and both seem fine. One problem is that the glass covers each makes are not compatible with the other's aquariums (glass boxes)! I learned this the hard way, and so hope to spare you the trouble.

Another issue here is that the big box pet stores (and others?) often rebrand or cover up the true manufacturer (either "All Glass" or "Perfecto-Marineland") with their own store brand! But one can tell by carefully examining inspection labels, or label on the plastic light hoods they are kitted with.

If you buy an "All Glass" brand glass cover it won't fit a "Perfecto-Marineland" aquarium, and vice versa -even though the two aquariums are both standard dimensions for the glass box (i.e., "55 gallon; 20 gallon long; etc.)

If you have an "All Glass" (including rebranded) be sure to get an "All Glass" "Versa-Top" glass cover.

If you have a "Perfecto-Marineland" aquarium (including rebranded) be sure to get a Perfecto or Marineland "Glass Canopy."

Surprisingly, most pet and fish shop employess were unaware of this issue. and most stores only carry one type and not the other!

Note: this "48 x 13 in." "Marineland-Perfecto glass canopy" fits my Marineland-Perfecto manufactured 55 gallon standard tank, and is made up of two units, each with actual measurements of 23" x 9.5" including the black plastic hinge between but not including the plastic filler attachment.

This glass aquarium cover comes in two seperate sections. One for the left half of the tank, and one for the right half of the tank. I have a 60-gallon Marineland aquarium that has a support bar running down the middle of the tank's top. It fits excellently. There are two plastic self-adhesive handles that you can put on each section to lift up one part of the "hinged" glass sections for easy access into your tank. There are no actual hinges but a piece of flexible plastic makes the mechanic possible. The instructions say to let the handle adhere to the surface for twelve hours before using the handle. Also included is a plastic sheet for each section that attaches on to the back edge of the glass so you can cut out sections of it for equipment that needs to get through the cover.

I have a 55G aqueon brand aquarium from petco and wanted to have a planted tank setup. Since the tank kits that usually come with lights and a plastic canopy dont have the best light illumination I decided to get a glass cover. I wasn't sure if this canopy would fit but I decided to give it a try. So far it was a good buy. I gave it 4 stars only because the plastic strip that you slide in on one of the covers sides was a but of a pain to install. Other than that evaporation has been minimal compared to the plastic kit canopies. I dont have to re-fill the tank with water every few days. And the lights with added reflectors allow the entire aquarium to be lit and not just the center like the cheap plastic canopies. If planted tanks and evaporation prevention are your aim for a tank get a glass canopy.
