Aquatic Creations Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinosaurs Bubbler Aquarium Ornament

Aquatic Creations Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinosaurs Bubbler Aquarium OrnamentI LOVED my t-rex for the first 3 years I had it. I had even repainted it after the paint had worn down.

Then suddenly my fish started dying. I replaced the few that died but all of those died as well! I thought it was the water quality so I did a 75% water change with distilled water and tried again with 2 more fish. Those died too. I thought that maybe the paint had started to leach some how into the water so I took the T-Rex out to re-seal the paint. I discovered that the pin holding on the head had metal in it and it had been rusting!

I did a 50% water change after taking him out and got a few new fish and everyone is happy and still alive.

Its a great decoration for a year or 2 but it needs to be taken out after a while.

This product is very cool. I was disappointed at first because the bubbles were so powerful, they were moving the dinosaur body. It would flip the head head or the bubbles would come out of the back of his neck. After some adjusting and "locking" it down with some stones and a log, it has been flawless. It is definitely a talking point of everyone who enters the room and the fish loves it. The big bubbles must feel good because the goldfish is constantly in its flow.

biOrb Ceramic Media - 1lb. Bag

biOrb Ceramic Media - 1lb. BagI gave this five stars because the product is great, but there is no reason to buy it when you first purchase the tank. My kit came with plenty so we are just saving this for the future.

The bag of ceramic media that came with my baby biOrb was not enough and this 1 lb bag did the trick!

I was disappointed that my baby biorb came with so little media. It looked empty and boring, now it looks complete. If you're getting a biorb, keep in mind that you'll also need to get a plant ring, it doesn't come with much of anything. Not enough rocks, no plants. Order this for sure!

Pennplax Aquarium Tank Divider

Pennplax Aquarium Tank DividerThe sides do not have suction, the clips do not hook to tank because the top of tank black rim around tank (not the top) is to wide for the clips. I have the tank decor holding it in place. I would have given a one star if I didn't like the plastic, the food doesn't get through and I do have to eithe invest in a better separator or another heater. This does prevent heat from circulating in my 50 gallon tank. I put the separator in the middle of the tank to determin this with thermoitors on both

I have a tank with African Cichlid and central America Cichlid fishes. It is a big mistake.. they flight until their death....

This divider is very easy to set up for my 29 gal tank.

I am happy to find this tank divider. With the divider in the middle, these two different type of fishes are watching each other but they can't touch each other.

The transparent film has a lot of small holes and it is not very sturdy but it is okay for these 3" to 4" fishes. I guess I need to buy another tank when they grow to 6" to 8" long later (if they don't die on me.......).

I'm impressed that it arrived much earlier than expected. It arrived Friday the 17th. Thanks so much as I didn't have to wait while looking for it asap. I haven't use it yet as I'm getting ready to set up another aquarium. Thanks as I'll continue to do business with this company. Jackie

Keeps my angelfish fry separated from the larger fish. There were some very small gaps against the glass, but the little fish soon learned it was safer to stay on their own side.

Want Pennplax Aquarium Tank Divider Discount?

My tank is oriented so the tank is wider than it is high, and although this is not the ideal orientation, it still works fine. Basically a thin piece of plastic with lots of little holes in it to let water through and those hard plastic guides to hold it stiff like are sometimes used to hold papers together with a clear plastic cover? For a while I didn't have the piece of plastic on across the top for some reason, so the plastic bowed out and the fish were able to get across the line to hostile territory. It took me a while to realize how my fish were making it across the line to their death.

Tetra Betta Floating Mini Pellets

Tetra Betta Floating Mini PelletsGood grief. I find the metered amount of food is perfect for my tank. This product does not cloud the water. This is my favorite...I am so glad I found this product.

Unlike other Beta food, it doesn't cloud up or dirty the tank. The fish really likes the food, too.

Buy Tetra Betta Floating Mini Pellets Now

They like it, but I don't know if I just got a bad batch but the pellets seem a little to big for their little mouths and they have trouble swallowing it. But of course if I crush them up a little they no longer float, creating a mess of uneaten food that I was hoping to avoid.

Read Best Reviews of Tetra Betta Floating Mini Pellets Here

I figured I would give it a shot because I was running low on food for my 2 bettas and the local stores were out of stock on what I usually got. They love the food. The package measures the correct serving amount for 1 fish for you. It is true, it doesn't cloud the water. After 2 feedings I am already noticing a change in their energy. I would recommend this product to anyone. Just keep in mind, just because my fish liked it doesn't mean yours will. Then again, at the price it is for on here you could at least try it.

Want Tetra Betta Floating Mini Pellets Discount?

My late betta would only eat them dried worms. She would always spit back out the pellets contained within this fish food. Perhaps my betta is not acclimated to this product? So I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

Up Aqua Pierce Co2 System Starter Kit

Up Aqua Pierce Co2 System Starter KitThis system is advertised as a Complete starter kit

Ready to use Aquariums up to 20 gallons

System does not come with the CO2 tubing.

As a patron of both the UpAqua and Fluval 88g Co2 setups I would go with the UpAqua. I say this for 3-reasons; UpAqua was half the price, better quality regulator, came with a stop valve, and did not malfunction. In addition, this should be no reason to purchase, but the box and packing was aesthetically put together. UpAqua is surprisingly coming out with good-great products.

AquaClear 20 Activated Carbon, 1.5 Ounce

AquaClear 20 Activated Carbon, 1.5 Ouncethis is a good product that made my tank crystal clear within hours of replacing the filter, carbon, and biomax.

I like the pouch the carbon comes in and the easy sizing (for your tank) written large on the front of the box this is a no brainer for me to select the right product every time or even have someone pick it up for me.

Buy AquaClear 20 Activated Carbon, 1.5 Ounce Now

This comes in a three pack for under $3 a filter. So I find it worthwhile to buy the 3 pack and save the money and the hassle of not having to reorder or go out and purchase locally every time I need to change it out.

Other than that, the Aqua Clear carbon works just as well as anything else.

be aware when buying this it is only 1 carbon pack. i thought it was 3, i did not pay attention. other than that the product was fine.

I don't know if buying the carbon in a one pack is the same as buying it in the 3 pack, but the 3 pack carbon I bought from Aquaclear had an eerie odor when I opened the packages. I would suggest that people buy their own activated carbon in bulk and pack it yourself in these nylon bags that you can buy separately for about three dollars.

Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums!

Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums!I've had several of these Aqua Tech filters in different sizes (5-15, 20-40, 30-60). Before I say anything else, FYI this is a Walmart brand filter. That should tell you something about the quality right there. Anyway, these filters all had one thing in common they were all GARBAGE! The filter cartridges are a joke, they do not keep water clear unless changed AT LEAST every 10 days. To make matters worse, each time the cartridge is changed, most of the "good" bacteria (which primarily lives in the filter) is removed from the tank. Within a few days, this makes your tank cloudy from a mini-cycle. It clears up ... just in time to change the cartridge again (talk about annoying). A 3-pack of cartridges on the smaller filters lasted me less than a month, and on the 30-60 filter I went through a 3-pack every 2 weeks or so! The cartridge itself has maybe 50 pieces of carbon in it! Complete garbage, I can not tell you how many fish I lost to these because filtration sucked! I switched to AquaClear 50 Power Filter 110 V, UL Listed (Includes AquaClear 50 Carbon, AquaClear 50 Foam & AquaClear 50 BioMax so much cheaper to maintain (been using it for 3 months and the media will not need replacement any time soon), and it does a FANTASTIC job!!! I have not lost a fish since switching to AquaClear. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Aqua Tech brand, it's overpriced junk.

I have two Aqua-tech filters, one 10-20 model which I have used for around two years and one 20-40 model that I have had in continuous use for over four years. I have been very pleased with their performance. While there are certainly better filters on the market these offer a good low budget option for the beginner aquarist.

There are many things to recommend this filter:

*The filter is very quiet, I have both operating in a bedroom.

*It is also surprisingly well made for the price, my cat loves to stand on the filter and no damage has resulted. Occasionally I have had the one of the filters simply stop working but unplugging the filter and re-seating the impeller always fixes this.

*Maintenance is simple; just change the disposable filter cartridge. To prime it after maintenance just pour some tank water in the top to get it running again. Occasionally it is a good idea to take a toothbrush and clean the intake pipe and impeller of algae buildup. Also remove any hair or fur caught in the impeller with tweezers, especially if you have cats or dogs. These buildups will cause the filter to run less quietly.

*replacement filter cartridges are easily purchased at your local Walmart.

There are two major flaws with this filter as far as I am concerned.

*First, it sometimes starts to make quite a bit of noise. This is generally caused by the intake rattling against the case and is easily solved simply by removing the intake pipe and impeller and re-seating it. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to work silently again.

*Second, there is little biological filtration capacity. while it comes with a biological filtration cartridge it is quite small for the filter size. Some people have modified their filters by adding additional biomedia such as filter floss in the empty spaces. However, I have never needed to do this as I make frequent water changes and the tanks both have well colonized substrates.

in short if you are very serious about fish-keeping you will probably want to invest in a higher quality canister filter. However, if your just getting into the hobby and are not sure about your commitment to it yet this is a good low budget filter for your first tank.

Buy Aqua-Tech 10-20 Power Filter, Perfect for 10-20 gallon aquariums! Now

I bought a tank on Craigslist and this filter came along with itlooking at it, I thought it was a piece of crap. But to my amazement when I got home, it was almost totally silent! It was actually quiter than my AquaClear (I think there's something wrong my Aquaclear though.) I can never find cartrideges for oit, so I don't know about them, but I just cram misc. filter media in there and it does just finelots of good bacteria growing and a decent water flow. I use it as an extra filter for my 36 gallon along with the Aquaclear 50, my tank always is really cleanplus having the 2 filters is great for avoiding mini-cycles, I just clean one filter and then a while later clean the other, never a shortage of bacteria! :) The price here on Amazon seems horrendous though, $50 for it? No way! I wouldn't pay that much for this, no matter how quiet!

Petco Reversible Swirl/Solid Terrarium Carpet for Reptiles

Petco Reversible Swirl/Solid Terrarium Carpet for ReptilesLove the pattern on this reptile carpet. Love the way it looks in my terrarium, BUT wish I hadn't wasted money buying it. It is way too small. You might think 'so what?' if it leaves a 1/4 inch to a half inch of bare glass on the floor. Problem is if you use live feed those worms and crickets use that area to get under the carpet and hide...so no food for the Bearded Dragon and a nasty mess to clean when you pull the carpet out to clean his tank. AVOID this product! Hope I can find it somewhere where they will cut it to the correct size. Price at Petco is CHEAPER than Amazon!!! Purchased for $11.99 @ Petco Love the pattern but it is WAY TOO SMALL for tank. Measures 29.5 x 11.5 inches.

Petco Pirate Skull Aquatic Decor

Petco Pirate Skull Aquatic DecorIf you have small fishes like mollies, guppies or zebras, BE CAREFUL and please read this.

Do not buy this item unless you're willing to spend an hour or two smoothing the inner edges. This ornament is made of a resin-like material, and it had several pointy edges on the inside which I was careful enough to notice. I had to take the proper time to slowly remove them with a sandpaper, which is very hard to do because the skull is tiny, even for a female finger.

It is not safe for aquariums with small fishes, so please consider you will have to spend extra time fixing the ornament before it can be danger-free for your beloved pets.

Red Sea Max 130D Plug & Play Coral Reef System 34 Gallon Aquarium w/ Stand & ...

Red Sea Max 130D Plug & Play Coral Reef System 34 Gallon Aquarium w/ Stand & ...This review is after four months into the project. After the oooos and aaahs of right out of the box have faded into the background.

This is a 34 Gal tank

Setup was pretty straight forward. Don't be a jock, have someone help you get the tank into position since it's glass. The tank I bought had the starter kit included. A $129.00 option. Free is a good thing. If it's not included, don't bother buying it. Some of the test kits red sea puts out are not all they repeatable.

Don't expect the skimmer to work on turn on. It really does take some time to break in, and for you to learn how to tweak it to the level that you want it to work at. I have to admit that fitting a skimmer, filter and pump system into the area that they did is Dammed impressive, especially since it actually works. The only pain in the butt I see is that to replace the bio and carbon filter, you need to pull both of the pumps out to do it. Not a hard job... just a pain.

Many reviews I've read say that there is not enough flow in the tank. That may be true with the older model, but with the 130D that is not the issue. I put some screen over the output of one of the pumps to cut the flow down a bit. With that said..... there may be some owners who think that there should be proper flow through the tank with a rock in front of the pump outputs.

The instructions are good, everything you need to do the setup and cycling of the tank are explained. It even tells you when to add your cleaner crew, corals and fish. I added the crew when they said to, but waited a two months longer to add the soft corals. Chemical balance in your tank really is important. Don't go overboard. Get a little frag and see how it goes. If the water quality isn't as good as you think it is your only out 10 bucks. Money isn't the point.... My emerald crab ate one of my hermit crabs because I screwed up on the feeding and I felt terrible.

This is a good entry tank, Mainly because it takes a little more work than the larger tanks. With thought, patients, some research and an eye for detail, anyone can have a god looking tank.

Now after four months of testing water, water changes, the tank looks good. Eight, soft corals, sixteen hermits, ten snails, two emerald crabs, one anenomie. and a cleaner shrimp. are doing fine.

EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W

EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300Wi have been using jager for about 5 years with no problem. it was time for a update even though old one was still working. the new has been in the tank for about a week with no problems. love it i recomend this to anyone.

I have a 200 watt heater in my 75 gal and kept my water temperature constant during the winter...I just got a 100 gal and hopefully it will perform the same without any issue..Eheim heater I believe is the best heater for your pocket and tank! I definitely recommend this and look for no other heater in the market...you will not be disappointed!

I purchased the heater 6 Months ago and it stopped working. The heater is in a 55 Gallon aquarium. Due to the size of the aquarium and the size of the heater I expected the heater to last much longer. The heater worked great for the first 6 months temp was right on point. never changed more than .5 degrees. I will not purchase this heater again.

Want EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 300W Discount?

I ordered this heater to replace a Elite Submersible Preset Heater, 300-Watt that my catfish had broken in a fish free for all freak-out. I have used EHEIM in the past and they have never disappointed me (though I have been confused by them) so I decided to try something new. I was surprised when the specifications said a single EHEIM 300W heater could heat tanks over 100 gallons, but I like the concept of running only one unit. When I received a shipping box that was about 4 feet long, the potential abilities of the heater started to make sense.I was expecting a heater of similar dimensions to almost every 300W heater I have ever owned. EHEIM was not even in the same park.

The EHEIM 300W heater is 22" in overall length, with very sturdy, heavy glass and has a thick industrial feel to the power cord. I have found the temperature setting to be the most reliable and accurate I have ever used, and I have used a lot of heaters. The added length has increased the surface area of the heating element and I have found that, so far, one EHEIM 300W unit is efficient enough to heat my 150 gallon tank on its own without it running constantly. I also appreciate that there is no noise associated with the unit switching on or off. My tank temp is very stable and I have noticed zero fluctuation of internal temperature regardless of surrounding room temperature.

Let me remind you again, this heater is long. I own a a tank that is 30" tall so placement of the unit is not a problem, but I can see how placement could be difficult for anyone who has a 24" or shorter tank height. Though you could solve this issue by just tilting the heater or placing it horizontally, but in some situations I could see how the heaters size might be a problem.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall performance of the EHEIM 300W heater. It isn't the perfect heater, but I have been very pleased with it and unless something unusual happens, I will continue to rely on it for my heating needs.

Pros: Price, sturdy build, greater surface area, almost perfect temp setting, stable heating, quiet

Cons: Much longer length than other heaters

Salinity Refractometer, Aquarium & Seawater - Dual Scale (1.0 to 1.070 S.G.) by Agriculture Solutio

Salinity Refractometer, Aquarium & Seawater - Dual Scale by Agriculture SolutionsI am rating this 4 stars instead of because it didn't come with any instructions. I am a noob when it comes to Saltwater tanks. I bought some Nutri-Seawater from my LFS and when I tested it with this meter, it read 1.031. Surprised, I took the water and this unit back to the LFS. They tested the water with their meter (this exact model), and it read 1.028, still high but to be expected from Nutri-Seawater. The LFS guy explained the calibration process to me and calibrated my meter for me.

In order to calibrate it, you test RO or distilled water, and use the screwdriver to set it to zero. The screw is under the little black cover in the middle.

You drop some water on the end, look through the eyepiece, and twist until the line shows your specific gravity.

Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Double Sponge Water Filter Air Pump Black

Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Double Sponge Water Filter Air Pump BlackSo... see how it says the dimensions are 4.72"/2.36"? That's the size of ONE sponge LOL. It's not clear so I thought it was the size of the entire filter. So you can imagine how large the entire thing is, around 6" wide, and 7" tall. I'm not disappointed though, as this gives me more filtration area. However, it would be good if the total size was mentioned so people won't buy this for a 2.5G and have it take up the entire tank.

The spout is able to be lengthened as with other sponge filters, and all parts are easily removeable for service and replacement. I will be modifying the "T" connection so only a single sponge will be used, as this takes up the entire side of a 10g tank. Other besides that, this product works as intended, and is the cheapest one out there.

Arrived faster then i thought it was going to.

Cleaned the water faster then other sponge filters that sit on the floor.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU125MED Mag-Float Glass Aquarium Cleaner, Medium

Gulfstream Tropical AGU125MED Mag-Float Glass Aquarium Cleaner, MediumAs a kid I used a two-foot long scrub stick to clean my ten-gallon aquarium, most of the time scaring the fish while dragging decorations that got stuck to it, and the usual trail of water dripping as I took it out to wash and put away. So I clearly intrigued when first saw this product.

The floating magnet is a two part gadget that uses magnets to keep a "handle" piece attached on the outside of the aquarium as the "scrub" piece is on the inside part of the glass--sliding the handle back-and-forth scrubs the sediment. Separating the pieces leaves the scrub part floating. The surface of the pieces is smooth so that it does not pull things or damage plants and fish.

I really like when a product meets expectations, working exactly as advertised, and this is it.

There is, however, something to note and the reason why I do not consider it perfect. The color is light-gray, and since it sits inside the aquarium, it does not blend well. This is strickly a matter of taste, but worth mentioning.

Overall, a great product, and a permanent addition in my shopping list when setting up an aquarium.

Really great product, removes algae from the glass very efficiently, without having to wet your arms and the floor around the tank! the magnet is extremely strong, even if the inside part is away from the glass, once you approach the outside part to the glass, the inside part comes right away!

Just beware if you have very fine substrate, because if you get very close to the bottom, some of the substrate can get caught in the scrub and before you know it, you got a big scratch in your glass!

Buy Gulfstream Tropical AGU125MED Mag-Float Glass Aquarium Cleaner, Medium Now

This makes cleaning the inside of your tank a snap! If you are busy, and who isn't, this makes your fishtank walls clean in less than a minute. Great buy, great investment!

Read Best Reviews of Gulfstream Tropical AGU125MED Mag-Float Glass Aquarium Cleaner, Medium Here

Remember the old days of lumbering to clean the glass of your tank? You had to buy a special extended length algae scraper which didn't work well so you had to stick your hand into the tank and scrub the sides with an algae pad. After you were done, you had to stand there with a soaking arm mumbling how sucky it was to clean algae.

Then came the magnetic scrubber. It was a definite improvement, except that the scrubber would separate on the inside of the tank and fall to the bottom just out of the magnetic force-field's range. This would require you to stick your hand into the tank and put the scrubber back together, leaving you standing there with a soaking arm thinking how cleaning algae was still kinda sucky.

Then came the Mag Float Magnetic Cleaner.

I first encountered this item at a local fish store when the shop keeper scrubbed the front of the tank of the fish I was going to buy. As is the case with magnetic scrubbers, the scrubber separated. But as is the case with the Mag Float, the scrubber floated to the top of the tank where it could be easily reattached without getting the hands wet. I chose to spend my money on the Mag Float rather than the fish.

That was about a decade ago and I have always had a Mag Float for every tank I have ever kept since then (which has been alot of tanks). This item is an absolute necessity for the discerning fish keeper. Are there other things that can do the job? Yes. Are there other items that work as well as the Mag Float? No.

Coming from a man that has been joyfully learning about aquariums and keeping fish for fifteen wonderful years, spend the extra money and get a Mag Float, you won't be disappointed.

P.S. get the size bigger than your recommended size, it is worth it. Acrylic tank owners beware, these guys can really do some serious scratching.

Want Gulfstream Tropical AGU125MED Mag-Float Glass Aquarium Cleaner, Medium Discount?

I just got this today and tested it out on my tank which had a buildup of algae on the glass. The magnets are STRONG and quick and got my fingers almost a dozen times in that many minutes. The glass does look better (could be better but it works better than a scrub brush), but then maybe it's more noticeable if you have REALLY bad algae problems, I mean if your tank is downright filthy. Mine is noticeable (clear water but the glass makes it look cloudy) but not awful. After using the magnet I did a 30% water change and wiped the inside of the tank with a paper towel there was still some algae on the tissue so this definitely does not get it all. One thing I don't like is how it scraped at the silicone holding the tank together (made an awful scratchy noise, and no there was no gravel in the way, it only did it when I wiped near each of the 4 corners), so I am going to try not to go near the corners with it in the future!

** Also, it says on the packaging NOT to use it if you have a PACEMAKER. I do not but I can't believe it did not mention this on the product page people with pacemakers are not exactly uncommon. ***

Overall, I like the product and would recommend it.

SODIAL(TM) Digital LCD Fish Aquarium Marine Vivarium Thermometer -50¡ãC to 70 ¡ãC

SODIAL(TM) Digital LCD Fish Aquarium Marine Vivarium Thermometer -50¡ãC to 70 ¡ãCI liked that for the price of one digital thermometer at a pet store i got four. It took some time to get here but not to long. I would say about a week and a half. Everything works well expect for the suction cups. After some days they were no longer sticking. Specially the ones inside the water. Other then that really good buy

For such a cheap thermometer, this was more than I expected. There was no review, so I took a chance when I bought it. This measure temperature quite accurately. This is not a fancy thermometer, but for one betta fish, it's great to keep an eye on the temperature. It can be switched from F to C, or vice versa. The power button does not seem to work...but it's always on anyway, and the batteries have lasted. It's been two months or so, and it's still working!

Got this cause i couldn't see the other non-digital thermometer good enough. I love how this one is outside the tank. One problem is it doesn't turn off.

Well I chose this digital thermometer because of it's cheapness and the need to replace an old crappy strip thermeter that was little better than a mood ring for heat. The thing is great. It's small and unobtrusive once my betta decided he didn't have to flare every time he saw it. It tracks the temperature accurately and as far as I can tell updates every thirty or so seconds. I've only had it for a little less than a month but it works swimmingly and should it ever break it's cheap enough that I would just replace it.

biOrb 12 Volt Transformer

biOrb 12 Volt TransformerMy old transformer broke, I found this one. It was described perfectly and arrived promptly. I recommend this to anyone who needs a replacement.

My original transformer cracked. This was a great and easy fix. Just unplug the old part, and plug this in. No extra wiring or anything. Love it.

I purchased this item because the one that came with the Orb aquarium broke within a very short amount of time. This left the fish in the aquarium with no oxygenation of the water. I paid for expedited shipping so that I could get things back to normal in the shortest amount of time. If it had been available at the pet store, I would have purchased it there since the safety of the fish was at stake. This was my only option. I received the unit as scheduled and immediately plugged it in. It started right up and everything seemed well with the world again. Then, within two weeks of getting the unit, I came home from work to find the aqaurium dark again with no pump action. The unit was dead, and the idea of returning it was abandoned because I had already discarded the paperwork . . . that was my fault. This review has nothing to do with the supplier, it is completely about the product . . . it is a great idea . . . just a poorly made unit.
