I haven't used these for the purpose I intended yet, but just testing them out shows they will be adequate.

These things will allow a ton of air through at a reasonable small bubble size, these are obviously no misters.

All in all seems like a good product, not much else to say, they are just air stones.

They look good in the tank but I am disappointed that the large one is not weighted, although it does have holes in it so that it can fit around the bubble tube. I was just intending for it to sit on the side and not centered on the bubble tube---i guess i could put some rocks in the middle of it to get it to stay down. The larger one also seems to fall apart pretty easy. The green parts can be snapped back into place but it gets a little annoying when you have to do that if you take the bubble tube out.

Even those these were plastic they're pretty good! Got these for my mom for mother's day (her hobby is fish) so it was a great gift in my opinion without spending a lot of money on the real thing! Though I wish I could have gotten more floaters. It was one floater and two bottom sitters. I really like watching the big one float and spin. It's cool!

I got this for my puppy because I was taking her by myself to her vet appointments and other places. She was climbing all over me during the drive. It was not safe. I tried some other car seats for dogs, but they didn't work. I got this one and she loves it. I was going to get it ready for her one day so we could go. She got so excited, jumped in the car and on to her seat. She also will sleep in it in the house. It was a little pricey, but she loves it. Hagen Nutrafin Max Feeding Ring with Suction Cup

I have been this feeding ring in my Marine tank for years. The ring works just fine, that is if you use it correctly. Other reviews of this product stated that they did not use the styrofoam insert. This is absurd for 2 reasons. 1 the styrofoam insert will not harm your aquarium in any way. 2 this product will not work the way it is designed to if you do not use the insert.

Basically, if you have an irrational fear about putting the styrofoam insert in your tank...don't even bother buying this product.

If you do buy one, it works as designed. Your fish will learn to eat out of it. My Blue Moon Angel attacks it as soon as I put the food in. He also has removed the styrofoam from one before...with no ill effects.

I have a drain in each corner of my 220g Marine tank...I put the ring in the center of the tank...it allows the food to fall straight down into the tank...instead of going down the drains.

The only drawback with this product is that it will probably only last 1 2 years before the suction cup stops performing its job.

So every 1 2 years I buy a new one. Its better than letting all the food drain into my sump.

I really like this product and rarely write reviews, though I saw that some people have posted negative reviews and thought to make some comments about this product. I position the feeder ring on the opposite side of the filtration in my aquarium (I have both external and internal filtration types and have successfully used these rings for both). The rings REALLY help to contain the food that falls to just one side of the aquarium. This not only gives my bottom feeders a chance to eat but also helps to keep my filters clean (not plugged with extra food) then they otherwise would have been had the food been allowed to fall willy-nilly all over the bottom without the containment. I bought my rings from Petsmart (at closer to $4.00/each). I own three of them now and am looking to buy more for the other five aquariums that I have set up (pleco's are breeding like crazy). Please note that this product is NOT a fish feeding device, but a food containing one. Helpful for any aquarist that wishes to extend the life of their filtration between cleanings and ensure more even food distribution through their water column.

I love these little rings. I don't have any problems with positioning it. A couple of times it has tilted but doesn't take even a second to tap and straighten before putting food in it. I have two external filter systems and they create a lot of movement of top water which causes food to sink immediately. These save food and keep bottom cleaner. Sounds like some users may have large fish that may like to play with the ring. I have seen my large pleco mess with it to get stuck pieces off the edges. What do you expect for a couple of dollars? Concept is excellent for the value. I am very satisfied with my purchases.

I had a problem. When I fed my fish, the water current would sweep the food pellets into the filter. The poor fish's food was gone before he even noticed it was there!

The ring will float (do not remove the styrofoam underneath it! That's the floating mechanism!). Then, just sprinkle the food flakes or pellets within the ring. They will remain inside the ring even though the water is flowing around it. (Until they eventually get saturated with water and sink.)

Not only did this product solve my food-in-the-filter problem, it helped me track how much my fish needed to eat. I can walk away from the tank after feeding, come back a few minutes later, and see how much food he left untouched. (Before, it would have scattered all over the tank or gone into the filter.) This helped me figure out the right portions for mealtime.

I bought this product from a PetSmart store and although the concept is good, it still needs a little work. The ring itself won't seem to float evenly. One side dips under the water level so when I put the food in, it simply floats right out of the ring. I've tried playing with it to see if different things will even it out but when the fish come to eat, they move it a little and everything shifts around anyways.

The underside of the product is hollow so air is trapped underneath the entire ring causing it to float. In the packaging it came with a styrofoam insert in this gap.. I'm assuming you're suppose to take it out because I personally wouldn't put styrofoam in my fish tank (although that would probably solve the uneven floating, that doesn't seem safe for the fish). There are no real directions besides two drawings and no warnings at all on the product.

So it's an OK product but still could use some work try it if you want but I'm thinking of returning mine.

Deep Blue Betta Tank 2.3 Gal 5 Way

This tank has a couple flaws to take into consideration. The first is that the glass dividers do not sit directly against the walls of the tank, and within hours, one of my bettas learned he could stick his face into his neighbor's compartment. My other issue is the lack of space to put a filter. Deep Blue's website recommended their nano power filter, which I purchased, but the glass lid has no plastic cutouts of which to fit a filter into. Other than that, I am very happy with the tank. It is extremely well made, looks wonderful set up on display, and if the bettas don't manage to "meet" one another through the gap, will considering purchasing another tank.

I just put my betta Huxley in his new tank today, and he seems happy with it. I didn't install the two end dividers, so I have two larger compartments separated by a narrow compartment. I placed some greenery in the middle compartment and plan to buy another betta to put on the other side of the tank. The middle compartment and greenery will prevent them from seeing each other, but I'll still get the benefit of having two fish in one tank.

The glass lid can be a bit difficult to lift off because it sits in the inner frame of the top of the tank and doesn't have a handle to lift it off. However, it's not perfectly flat so pressing on one side makes one corner lift up enough to get your fingers underneath.

The tank looks great on my bookshelf with a couple of halogen battery-operated lights (the press on, press off kind) situated behind the tank to light things up.

Seachem Ph Alert for Freshwater

I purchased this item twice, thinking it would be much easier then drops or strips. The first time it worked about 3 weeks, when it stopped working (luckily I still checked with a strip!) and figured I had used it wrong. The second time it never worked at all. Dangerous to trust your fish to. Use the strips or the drops.

I used this for my fishless cycle to try to keep an eye on my pH. I only used it as a supplement to liquid testing and it was way off almost all of the time.

As someone who has been keeping fish for over 40 years, you learn that it's critical to take safegaurds to avoid and alert you to potentially lethal problems. A long time fan of Seachem I use both their PH and Ammonia meters in every tank I have and replace them every 4-6 months although the life span of the meters is one year.

Neither meter replaces proper testing, they are designed to provide a warning period.

Ammonia spikes are the numer one cause of death in kept fish with PH spikes and drops not far behind. PH (a measure of hydrogen ion concentration) can be fatal if it fluctuates too much. There is no set or standard PH it differs for living creature. The best thing to do is match the PH of your aquarium water to the PH of the blood of your tanks inhabitants. You can spend a fortune on PH meters and over the years I have. However these very affordable litle meters provide an invaluable service, as long as you understand the readings are not dead on accurate. However, they're accurate enough to tell you it's time to pull out your testing reagents and check out your water parameters.

Serious aquarists have depened on these for decades and with good reason.

With the first pH Alert I purchased, the reading never changed during the six months I had it in the tank. Fortunately, I regularly test with other kits and found that my pH was indeed fluctuating, despite the stubborn insistence of this product.

The best that I can tell is that it gives a reasonably accurate reading on the initial use, but it fails, on all accounts, to "Detect pH Shifts Anytime" (their words).

Hydor 75w Hydrokable Substrate Heater, 25' - for Aquariums 32-53 gal

This heater does at it is supposed to--heat via substrate. My big complaint is that it did not come with nearly enough suction cup attachments. I have a 55G tank and looping/winding the cable the way you're supposed to only half the tank was secured. It was basically impossible to find other suction cups for it. I had to order them from the company at a pretty ridiculous price--and even then predictably some of them didn't hold well. Fortunately they really only had to hold a couple minutes until I could get the sand/clay over it and then the weight of the substrate holds it down.

46 bow...with an internal heater working with it...78 is max temp. It is not adequate without assistance. If you want this as your main heater...try something else!

So like most people suggest, I did let the device run for a week before I went on vacation. I filled the reservoir with flakes, pellets, and bits of algae wafers. It was very easy to set the schedule for 8am and 8am feedings (it support 4 feeding times per day). And then I tested it with the manual button which is still very handy. I left for 3 weeks and all my fish were still happy and healthy. I would advise running the feeder for a week so you can determine how much food your fish need to consume per day and, therefore, how long one filled reservoir will last for you.

I went on vaction and my fish were still alive when I got back. Great little device even if you're not on vacation. I forget to feed the fish all the time, but with this feeder, I know they are being fed.

The clamps for mounting the unit did not open wide enough to fit my tank. I have a 125 gallon tank with a wide top flange. The mfg. should specify the max opening of the unit. It also does not release large flake food in a consistant manner.

Boyd Enterprises ABE16710 Freshwater Vitachem for Aquarium, 16-Ounce

This was a neat product. Don't be surprised when you dump it in if you see white dots go everywhere. It spreads little tiny things throughout the tank (like smashed vitamins). The fish go crazy and eat bits and pieces of it. It does eventually disappear and you won't notice it afterwards. At first though you go "What in the..." Grin. But, the fish like it so that's all that matters.

This is by far the best product I could have purchased for my discus aquarium. Heals little nips and cuts they can get from getting scared and running into something and overall my discus look more vibrant and healthy than before I started giving it to them. I mix it in with my own homemade fish food and they eat it up. Highly recommend.

API Reef Master Test Kit

I have used Salifert, Elos, Redsea and a bunch of others. While it's really hard to guage the accuracy of all these kits, one can assume at least +/10% readings. With the API kit I see small enough changes reflected in the readings to give me confidence that it's within the ball Park of ELOS and Salifert, so at a the current price API is a clear winner. I also like that these tests are simpler to preform than most of the others, so thats a real plus.

When combined with the Saltwater Master Test Kit, these kits provide all the tests that a beginning reef master could want. I am using these tests in a 40 gallon breeder reef tank, and so far they have been easy to use and reliable. The only complaint I have is that they are sometimes hard to read on certain tests. It is hard to decipher the different levels from one another if they are close.

Still, I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone that has a reef tank.

Simply put having a test kit is essential for any reef aquarium keeper. I only have a 28-gallon tall aquarium with just soft corals, a feather duster, a few damsels & a couple of cleaner shrimp. The API Reef Master Kit is well packaged and everything is labeled very clearly. I sometimes have difficulty interpreting the nitrate and phosphate tests as the results are limited to viewing color code charts of different shades of green and orange. For example when I conduct the test for nitrates, my resulting shade of green from my test tube is in the range of .50 to 1.0 as my best guess instead of .50 or 1.0.

The instructions are very well written and easy to follow although I can't help, but notice API's intentional attempt at product placement by their brand. For example if your test kit yields a high result for phosphates, the instructions recommends that you purchase & use API's Phos-Zorb to help reduce phosphates in addition to conducting water changes & removing waste. If you have low calcium levels you can use API's Eco Calcium Marine to increase calcium levels. If your nitrates are high you can use API Tap Water Filter to help reduce nitrates in addition to water changes & the removal of waste.

Some other reviewers have complained about the absence of the ammonia test, but I have already owned API's ammonia test kit (with its different shades of yellow test results chart) that I used when I initially cycled my aquarium, so adding the reef master kit just supplemented to what I already have. Didn't need the instructions help to buy another API product for ammonia testing because I already did.

Overall an adequate test kit for the very important task of truly knowing what's in your aquarium water (or at least ballpark figure ranges) to help your corals, fish & invertebrates to thrive successfully.

I bought this for my betta tank, but in pink and a little spikier petals, and it looks very nice! The flower part is right below the surface of the water in my tank, and bettas love to lay on and in things right at the surface, so I find him there in his flower constantly throughout the day resting. It's well made, I like the gravel bowl base a lot, and it's very easy to clean. The plastic isn't rough or hard, so it won't cut your fish's fins. Very happy with this product.

I was expecting it to be a little tall than it is. I think 8.5 inches is rather generous. More like 6. I do like how the leaves are detachable, and I like the gravel tray.

Do wish I could pick my color though, I got pink. I hate pink.

Shipping costs jack this thing up to $10. This things not worth $10.

Zoo Med MagClip Magnetic Suction Cups

nothing much to say, but there are many sizes. the magnets works well, but with all of the sizes none are the right size to hold aquarium heaters. also, you only receive one set which means one magnet attaches to the outside of the aquarium and the other magnet is attached (screwed in) to the clip. the picture shown is deceptive. The picture shown with an Eheim Heater (I own the 75w version) may work (looks a little loose in the picture), but Eheim has a much better system for suction cups which has a brace between 2 suction cups for much less money. The mag clip does not accommodate the 3 other heaters I own. If you're looking for suction cups for aquarium heaters, specifically put that in the search bar, and you'll get better results.

These things are great, being able to adjust items in your tank without having to get your hand wet is wonderful. They lack all sizes though so that can be rather annoying. I have an Eheim filter and they do not fit the fill tube on the filter and they don't fit on the heater very well. A couple more sizes included would be very helpful.

The biggest knock (and only) I have on these things are the price. You get ONLY 1 per package for you $5.

Eheim 2075 Pro 3 Canister Filter - Up to 160 gal.

I've owned an Eheim 2217 for many years and it has operated flawlessly. I recently set up a new 110 gallon community tank and decided to spring on the latest Eheim model the 2075. It's only been running 2 months so perhaps my impression on this will improve, but so far it's been underwhelming.

As others have mentioned, the priming button doesn't really work. YOu have to press the buttom 20+ times...just when you're about to give up and try to do it the hard way then it springs to life.

Second, even after a 50% water change, my water is still cloudy. It doesn't seem to help...although I'm hoping this gets settled once the tank has been running a few more months.

If I can do this again, I would get the Eheim Pro II 2028, which has gotten MUCh better reviews.

The cloudiness has settled and the tank is pristine. However, the priming button still doesn't work. I think I've isolated the cause the floating valve gets stuck in the cavity which prevents a suction from forming initially. I don't know what'll happen if I remove the float valve...maybe I'll try it next time.

Just like some of the other reviewers I have had considerable problems with leaks. The first time was after eight months of use. Eheim replaced the unit and now here I am a year later with another flood.

I have 3 big fancy goldfish in a 55g tank, which needs a lot of filtration because these fish produce a lot of waste. I was a first time buyer of an external canister filter and a first-time purchaser of an Eheim product. I had heard that older Eheim models were very reliable, but I ended up buying the Eheim Pro 3 2075 from Marine Depot because this model had a newer, sleeker design, and sounded easy to clean. I chose Eheim over other models because of Eheim's reputation. I bought the Eheim in April 2010. Several days ago, that is, a year and two months later, the filter is leaking water somewhere close to the electric cord, a complaint that other reviewers of this product have reported on Amazon and on numerous other forums. Upon finding this leak, I cleaned the filter, thoroughly checked for any cracks, plugged it back in, and it seemed to work fine. Fours hours later, I found a puddle of water by the filter yet again. I frantically shut off the filter, Googled "Eheim Pro 3 leaks" (try it yourself) and found that other people also experienced the exact same problem with this filter in the exact same spot. People also seemed to notice these leaks after one year of owning this filter, which is also my case. The Eheim Pro 3 series clearly has defects that the manufacturer needs to correct. Do not purchase filters from the Eheim Pro 3 line! When I installed this filter upon first receiving it, the filter worked beautifully and I was ecstatic with the results. Within the one year of owning it, I was able to change the filter media only 4 times with incredible ease. However, I think you only begin to see these leaks after the machine has been running for awhile. I'm disappointed with this product because I paid over $200 for the filter. But I guess as a first-time user of external canister filters, the lesson that I have learned is to not purchase an Eheim product ever again. I do not favor Eheims over other models because I lack experience in this hobby, but I do know from experience that this particular filter has failed me miserably.

This canister filter was purchased for a 90 gallon African Cichlid tank. I've owned my unit for approximately 2 weeks and purchased my filter for $250.00 I utilized cichlid sand that was not rinsed under manufacturer recommendation and absolutely clouded the water something terrible. The filter was able to make a significant difference in just 24 hours and absolutely cleared the water within 48-72 hours. I knew of the Eheim name and reputation and risked its purchase although I could not find many reviews on this particular model (2075). There were plenty available for the model 2080. Now, let's cut to the chase.

The Good:

1) Incredibly QUIET!!! There is absolutely no hum whatsoever during its operation. You know it's working because you will see the wave of surface agitation from the powerhead.

2) Very efficient as witnessed by me personally in clearing my milky water in just 48 hrs.

3) Relatively simple assembly and installation.

4) Simply hose disconnect feature to allow for cleaning the canister.

5) My model was a complete kit including all filters and substrate all inclusive.

The Bad:

1) The priming feature did not work well and exhausted me in the process. It took quite a while before it decided to work. I pumped the primer over and over and over and..........get the point? It did nothing. Eventually it started after one final attempt.

2) The substrate is very expensive.

3) No tilt and roll wheels on this model to assist with removing from your tank stand.

4) Input and output hoses were a bit difficult to seat on quick disconnect valve on motor head.

Truly, nearly a perfect filter for my 90 gallon aquarium. I would purchase this or any other Eheim product based on my experience with this filter. It deserves a 4.5 rating (because of the primer) but was not available.

We purchased this the 2075 and with in 15 months it broke. It started leaking from the top. It was fantastic to come home from work to find 1/2 of a 130 gallon tank on the floor and a real scared fish. I contacted ehiem, after several emails they said it was a broken primer seal. Its suppose to have a 3 year warrenty... They would not send me one nor tell me where I could get one..... Save your money and go with another manufacture.

When I received this item the inner foil was opened most of the way and the lid was partly off. Over half of the product was spilled in the box. I always expect it to take a while for my fish to get used to a food, but I have an Angel Fish that really hasn't warmed up to it. It's been a week and she's just starting to eat. I hope she gets to where she actually likes it, or I'm gonna have to buy something else. Seeing as this was a $20 container, I really don't want to do that.

Update Nov 23, 2012: I'm now happy with this product. It was still a bummer that it came in the condition it did, but my fish seem to like it now. I've been feeding my Angels a different food, but my Jewel Cichlids, Jack Dempseys, and Green Severum seem to really like it.

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 200-Watt

I have always had the old glass top mounted heaters and switched to this heater and here is why I say its awesome :)

first it is built solid there are no cheap plastic parts, the control button is well designed and placed on the top for easy access with a simple push of the button it will flash then all you do is push the button till you reach the desired setting it will automatically start heating and it does it at a nice slow pace as not to shock the fish with a rapid heat change to their environment. The temperature sensor has about 8 inches of play to place it away from the heater to get an accurate temperature with a suction cup on the probe and 2 on the heater the black color blends in nice so it does not stand out to much. Next the led readout is nice allowing you to see the current temperature a green led tells you the power is on and a red led comes on telling you it is heating then goes off when desired temp is reached, I have unplugged it to test the memory and it does exactly as described remembering the setting.

I purchased this heater for my 38 gallon and I love it! The digital reading is accurate and very easy to adjust. No second guessing the temp. I still keep a thermometer on the opposite end of the tank and the temp is right on! So easyplan to buy another for my 55 gallon.

This is great! Keep the temperature perfect and tells you the exact temp in the tank! Just make sure you don't let the area it is in run dry as it will heat up and shatter.

Can NOT go wrong for the price. Buy them up!! So long as they hold their integrity, Ill buy again for sure! The digital readout is bright and really looks sharp. The thermostat cord is a tad short, but it still works great and is accurate.

Spirulina Flake Food

Ocean Nutritions Spirulina flakes, are, in my opinion, the best flake food out there for all fishes. Just look at the ingredients. You'll see that this food has only good stuff for fish, and is excellent vitamins, fats, proteins, and sources of other neccessary ingredients for excellent health. My fish love it, and I ain't met a fish that didn't. Doesn't have alot of "fillers, or inert" ingredients like wheat products. I mean come on, does fish in the wilds jump out into a wheat field, to feed?...nope ! I find this doesn't cloud the water like alot of other "veggee" food does. KUDOS FOR THIS PRODUCT. BTW, I've kept fish for 20 + years.

Been feeding this to my goldfish for almost 3 years. They are unbelievably healthy and happy. I also feed them fresh fruit and vegetables, including garlic, but the Spirulina Flakes are their staple.

Fluval Foam Filter Block (204/205/306 & 304/305/306)- 2-Pack

Not same as originals in fluval filters. thinner and materials not of same high quality as originals that came with thew filter

NOTE: Bigger filters take four of these so two packs. Also, they disintegrate rather quickly, so you might want to order two full sets at a time. They trap a lot if debris, work great.

I keep a few boxes on hand, to be honest I like to custom cut my own from bulk, but in a pinch it is nice to know I have these, quiality is good.

They were coarser than the ones that came with the filter my old ones were not salvageable they were clogged so bad.

Another thing these don't wash out like the other ones did.

Anyone using the fluval external canister has to use these pads! I rinse them and usually get about 3 uses out of them
