This item is exactly as I expected. My bird was surprized to see it in his cage but started to use it immediately.

Arthur is a red-lored amazon parrot who dislikes anything "new" in his cage--distrustful would be the word. He'd had a cholla cactus perch before but had chewed most of one end off. Fortunately, placing it in the same location as the prior one did not pose a problem---He's happy---so I'M happy!!

GloFish LED Aquarium Light with Blue LEDs

I haven't had this light too long and it wasn't cheap but started to fizzle out on me. It cant be in a regular aquarium hood as it need protection from moisture. I opened mine to see if there was something easy I could fix and the plug adapter fell right off. My freshwater tank had corroded it. It wasn't cheap and was really pretty as first but I would save your money as it will disintegrate over water. They need to seal this unit or warn that being in a hood is within reach of too much water.. Of course where else am I going to put it?? waste of money and I don't know how to fix it.

This is some GOOD stuff people! I feed this mainly to my arrowana and flowerhorn, but my other larger fish like to steal it from my aro (flowerhorn has it's own tank). With all my other silver arrowanas, through improper diet they developed drop eye, got sick, and just wasn't as healthy as they should be. A year to a year and a half ago I got a new silver arrowana. I fed him NLS since he was a few inches till now at around 20+ inches. He has no drop eye and still loves his NLS pellets! Before that I used to feed live food (they died early and looked crappy/raggedy), then moved to hikari carnivore sticks. With the carnivore sticks it wasn't much better than the live feeders as they started to have health problems, still developed drop eye, and after a while really didn't appreciate the food that much. The NLS is awesome and he attacks the food with the gusto that he did since day one (he hits it like he is hitting live prey!). He is active and not lazy like the ones I raised on hikari and/or live foods, and just one happy aro! The flowerhorn fed on NLS is a BEAST with beautiful vibrant colors, a really feisty personality, and a HUGE head! I wish they made a larger floating pellet. The NLS megafish formula is 10mm but sinking which would give the arrowana's tankmates an easier time to steal his pellets. I like the size and would use the megafish formula but is is more expensive for less product even in bulk...Get some NLS it it's the BEST out there.

Great air out put with 2 outlets. Mine arrived broken with one of the 2 air adjustment knobs busted. Too bad they make everything out of plastic because otherwise this product would have been fantastic. The seller made it right by refunding my total purchase and ship price and also kust had me email him a pic of the damage so he could file a claim and let me keep the item. Knowing this was a great little air pump I contacted Penn Plax and I can not tell you how wonderful they are. Just one email asking if I could purchase a replacement for the broken part and I received an immediate reply asking for my address and they sent me a whole new air pump. If you have a "new fish keep dying" problem and you're well past the "new tank syndrome" stage, try THIS instead of just giving up.

Purchased the original filter canister through our local aquarium store when they made a custom aquarium for us, but they no longer carry these replacement cartridges (and they could not match this pricing either).

This system runs the tap water through activated charcoal, a filter medium, and then through resin in order to purify the water for aquarium use. It really does a great job removing the chemical from the water, and these filters get a lot of the credit for our fish having long, healthy lives.

These filters actually do too good of a job, and we add good minerals back in to the water before putting it in the tank -we like to use a product called Equilibrium for that task (Seachem Equilibrium 600gram)

Seachem Ph Alert for Freshwater

I purchased this item twice, thinking it would be much easier then drops or strips. The first time it worked about 3 weeks, when it stopped working (luckily I still checked with a strip!) and figured I had used it wrong. The second time it never worked at all. Dangerous to trust your fish to. Use the strips or the drops.

I used this for my fishless cycle to try to keep an eye on my pH. I only used it as a supplement to liquid testing and it was way off almost all of the time.

As someone who has been keeping fish for over 40 years, you learn that it's critical to take safegaurds to avoid and alert you to potentially lethal problems. A long time fan of Seachem I use both their PH and Ammonia meters in every tank I have and replace them every 4-6 months although the life span of the meters is one year.

Neither meter replaces proper testing, they are designed to provide a warning period.

Ammonia spikes are the numer one cause of death in kept fish with PH spikes and drops not far behind. PH (a measure of hydrogen ion concentration) can be fatal if it fluctuates too much. There is no set or standard PH it differs for living creature. The best thing to do is match the PH of your aquarium water to the PH of the blood of your tanks inhabitants. You can spend a fortune on PH meters and over the years I have. However these very affordable litle meters provide an invaluable service, as long as you understand the readings are not dead on accurate. However, they're accurate enough to tell you it's time to pull out your testing reagents and check out your water parameters.

Serious aquarists have depened on these for decades and with good reason.

I had similar experiences to other folks who rightly gave this company's products bad reviews (both the pH and Ammonia meters).

With the first pH Alert I purchased, the reading never changed during the six months I had it in the tank. Fortunately, I regularly test with other kits and found that my pH was indeed fluctuating, despite the stubborn insistence of this product.

The best that I can tell is that it gives a reasonably accurate reading on the initial use, but it fails, on all accounts, to "Detect pH Shifts Anytime" (their words).

Don't waste your time with this--spend a few extra bucks and get test strips or, even better, a test tube kit.

Zoo Med Ceramic Sinking Catfish Log, 6.5-Inch

I got this for my brother's tank because he has 3 yoyo loaches that love small spaces, since it was a little too open for them we just buried the log in the gravel and they love to hang out in there now. They are going to max out at 6 inches so this should do the job even when they are adults. We even stuck some java fern stems in the holes at the 'limb' part that the yoyos loosened from the gravel.

This is a great item for the aquarium. My bristlenose pleco stays in it most of the day. He loves it. It seems to be well-made and of good quality. It can at times be difficult to find aquarium ornaments that meet the high standards necessary for my pets, but this one is excellent. I may even buy another one or two for a 55-gallon aquarium we are planning to set up a few months from now.

Wasn't too sure about the shiny appearance of this pottery 'log' when I first saw it after unpacking, but following a good rinse in the sink, I half buried it in my aquarium's gravel and partially hid it among some live plants. It looks great; no longer shiny, and its mix of earth-toned glazes helps it to blend right in with my tank's natural appearance.

I have two small cory catfish, as well as a small clown loach and a small yoyo loach (they're small for now, anyway...)in a four foot long 65 gallon. They all appreciate having yet another hiding spot in addition to the Mopani wood and plants, and this cave will help to maintain a peaceful aquarium with enough 'privacy' for them all...

Fluval C4 Poly Foam Pad - 3-Pack

These foam pads are great mechanical filtration in the Fluval C series. They tend to get gunked up and need rinsings, but nothing out of the ordinary. The fine mesh side doesn't hold up too well to frequent rinsings, and it can be hard to rinse these out really well (especially inbetween the fine pad and the corse pad). Though these are much better than having to buy those marineland filter cartridges. You don't really have to buy these, as you could just rip off the fine meshed side of your old one and replace with some poly batting. But I like to have some extras on hand incase I want to use them.

Was delivered quickly and works as expected. I am very satisfied with the entire Fluvial C4 filtration system. My tank is a lot cleaner since I changes systems.

I have been using this particular brand of filter pads for a while now, about 2 years for this model of C4. My previous filters were canister style but they were too much hassle and commitment after having multiple back surgeries, I now use only H.O.B/Hang On Back type of filters, so that they are much easier to maintain regularly.

These pads are the double-sided style, consisting of a foam side and the other being a poly material. I do not use the foam only type, as I have somewhat smaller sized fish, I would consider the foam only to be better suited for much larger fish, etc.

This filter works great!!! Couldn't be more happy with it. My water stays crystal clear, and its the most quiet pump I've seen. The first couple days it made some noise but I lubed it with vegtable oil, and that did the trick. Watch some video's on UTube about it, they are very informative. Love this filter.

The 72 gallon bow front Aqueon Versa Top came to me from Ozbo and in excellent condition. The top I received is different than the picture. It is actually split in half from front to back instead of the single lid as shown in order to fit the center brace. That is a good thing as the center brace in the Aqueon 72 gallon bow front aquarium I have has a rabbit that it sits in. I had to attach two included handles and cut the back strip to fit my plumbing which is normal. I'm very please with its construction and fit. Would definitely order from Amazon, Ozbo, and Aqueon again.

Product arrived in great shape. It's actuallly two pieces so it's easier to handle. It's exactly what I wanted and looks great.

Like many other reviewers have commented, this is not one glass topit comes in two pieces, but fits the 72 gallon bowfront perfectly, and it's better that it comes in two piecesone side can have complete coverage, while the other side can leave room for air tubing/filters. Unfortunately, like a couple of other reviewers on here, I had the bad experience of shoddy packagingwhen it arrived, all of the 'padding' in the package was on one side. Upon opening the package I discovered one of the sides (the opposite side of the one with all the padding, so clearly that padding helps) was shattered. This is a very disconcerting thing when you spend this much money on a product (poor college student here, so this is a big deal for me). That said, the side that was not shattered fit perfectly and looked quite good. It's because, excluding shoddy packaging, it's a good product, on top of the fact that returning things to amazon is about the easiest thing in the world (I didn't even have to leave my apartmentjust repacked the top in the original packaging, clicked the option for amazon to contact UPS, and printed the return labelnext day UPS shows up, and day after that I had my refund in my accounttwo days total, it was kind of amazing). So the ease of return, along w/the knowledge that it is a good product, led me to the 3 star review. I have gone ahead and tried re-ordering it, hoping for better results this time. I will update w/the condition of the second package. The first one shipped was undeliverable, so without even requesting they immediately shipped a replacement. Replacement, amazingly, arrived intact. I have never, ever seen worse packaging and this is why the first one got damaged. Whoever packed it put the box containing the lid on the bottom of a huge box and loosely filled it with yards of crumpled paper. The box was crushed when delivered and I took photos of it before opening, fearing the worst, but somehow it survived intact.

The lid fits my 72 gallon bow front tank perfectly....it is actually four pieces of glass (they do not include or ship the center support) and is an ideal replacement. For the price I should have purchased this long ago.

This is a great item, it offers a place to hide for my fish, with lots of access holes. It fits perfectly in my 5 gallon tank and doesnt take up a lot of room, my betta and corys couldnt be happier.

Hagen Nutrafin Ammonia 0.0 to 7.3 Mg/L for Freshwater, 70 -Tests

This test kit will do the job of testing for Ammonia, I'm sure. The testing seems to be straight forward and the booklet contains a great explanation of the whys and where fore's and how to treat for the different levels of amonia. And while the booklet seems sturdy, I'm wondering what a couple of tests holding water against the slick card stock will do to the comparison chart. I wish there were a separate plastic comparison chart rather than just on the back of the booklet.

I give it four stars for now.

I purchased a "FilStar XP3 Canister Power Filter" 2007 and I love it so much I bought another one! I have had a chance to see what these "BIO-CHEM STARS" really do for aquarium water balance! The colonies of beneficial bacteria are so robust in these BCSTARs that I was able to get a new 29 gal tank setup (using the 2yr old Filter's dirty media) through the normal clear-cloudy-clear water balancing phase (without water treatments) in just 5 days (normally it takes me 2 weeks!)! At first I was not sure of what filter media products to use with it because it is so versatile and there were so many choices (so I bought a few each and experimented). The FilStar system really does provide filter media for whatever water conditions you will encounter in you area!

This was a must have for our freshwater tank. It helps keep the bacteria levels stable so the fish are happy and healthy.

I was raising tadpoles and they needed something to cling to as they developed lungs. This mini log was the answer. It was small enough for the tiny froglets to latch onto. This is a nice tank for a vivarium and the front opening doors make the inside more accessable, the only reason I dont give this 5 stars is bc of the very fragile hinges on the front doors which can break if not gently opened and closed.

VERY nice item. However, it was packaged very poorly and when my son opened it Christmas Day, it was cracked very badly. But, Petsolution sent us another one right away and there response was superb! My son loves this item VERY much!

First off all other reviewers should learn they are reviewing the product not the shipper. There is a separate place for that. Now on to the tank. The best I have ever had. I have been keeping herps for 20 years and had always had aquarium style tanks. I now have this one in 3 different sizes and love it. I'll list some great things about it

1 The bottom is sealed and rated to hold water. Cheaper terrariums are not and may or may not leak. If you are going to build any kind of vivarium, this is your tank

2 The back wall gives a great look and function to the tank. I have bearded dragons in mine and they love to climb and tear away at it. To fix this I followed instructions online and covered it with grout and repainted it. Just search youtube for building a backwall and you get to skip the hardest part of shaping styrofoam. My geckos don't don't damage theirs so depending on the animal you may not have to do anything.

3 Build quality is great all around. Good materials, holes to run cables inside, underneath, anywhere you would need to.

4 the most obvious but the best. As well as an opening on top this product has 2 front opening glass doors. It makes it easy to set up he tank but most importantly I found that I interact so much more with my pets because its so easy. I don't have to remove lights and heat lamps every time I want to get to them. I can just flip a switch open the door and there they are. Some times I'll just pet them real quick if I don't have time to hold them. I think they prefer not to be grabbed from top also. Maybe a natural instinct because of birds to fear things coming from on top of you. Its easy to feed daily, change water ect...

I could never go back to anything else after using this tank

Now for the one kinda negative. The top (I'm sure for strength and long term durability) is crisscrossed with plastic bars. This means that larger standard dome lamps will not fit directly on the screen and will rest on a bar. Also if you are using ceramic heat bulbs there is a good chance you could melt it. Exo-Terra makes domes that fit and are also very high quality. So I would recommended getting one from them. So be aware of a possible added expense when switching to this tank depending on your needs

I really am happy with this terrarium. I have a young ball python that we had in a 20g long tank. Since changing her environment, and adding some vertical elements (couldn't do that in the aquarium very we'll). She is much more active. So much easier to get into to clean and feed. Easier to keep humidity up with a mister than in the aquarium too.
