Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2oz

Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2ozMaybe this food is meant for feeding something other than a mixed freshwater community tank. Nothing would touch it. Fish like tetras, glass cats, betta fish, Siamese algae eaters (that eat any other food), and even red cherry shrimp. Nobody seemed to recognize it was actually food. Maybe the Fish eggs would've been more appropriate for my needs but I plan on waiting for reviews on the next NutriDiet product I try, if there will be a next time.

It's fair to point out that the description for this listing is wrong. It talks about mealworms while this is fly larve. I'm a big fan of many Seachem products but this was a complete flop that ended up in the trash in less than a week. I can't say if larger fish would eat it or not. That may be what this food is for, but with no accurate description for this listing it's hard to know.

I bought this directly from Amazon. When I opened it, it didn't look so great. I don't' know how it should look but today I happened to look at the bottom of the can and saw it expired TWO YEARS AGO. They are shipping out products that expired two years ago! Check around, you will see a lot of things are being shipped expired. That should be illegal.

Buy Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2oz Now

This product is amazing!! My betta fish can't get enough of these and they come in a nice size. I was nervous that they'd be too big and that I'd have to cut them up (ick) but it wasn't the case at all. I'm so glad I took a chance and ordered nutridiet fly larvae.

Finnex 100-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 20 to 30-Gallon

Finnex 100-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 20 to 30-GallonThis heater has been very consistent in our 10gal tank. I like that the temperature control sits outside of the water for easy access (although it is not needed once you set the tank to the right temperature.)

Keep in mind that the temperature number is more of a guiding number. Your tank will interact with the room temperature, so the real temperature in the tank will be somewhere between the outside temp and the heater set temp. Our 10 gal tank is set to 82, and the room temp is 70. Under these settings the in-tank thermometer keeps steady at 78. The same is true for a different heater we have in our 30 gal tank. I recommend setting your tank by the thermometer reading.

Another thing worth noting is that the suction cups don't do their job too well. It seems that one or the other is always coming off, which gets a bit annoying over the long run.

...immediately after the warranty period is over. I have had the heater master controller break on 3 different occasions and repaired, not replaced, by Finnex for $10-15 each time. It will last for another 6-9 months. When you are dealing w/your heater in the aquarium, you have to be very careful.

Concurrently, I purchased 3 Finnex titanium heaters with controllers and 2 of them have gone dead (luckily in the "off" position) within a month after the warranty period. Luckily, the Finnex controllers are connected to Medusa controllers---which are worth the money...the Medusas have worked perfectly for 5+ years. Yes, it's overkill with the controllers, but the lack of reliability with the Finnex heaters and controllers makes it imperative that I have a safety net the won't allow the Finnex heater/controller to boil my aquarium.

Buy a Finnex frameless aquarium, they look fantastic...but think twice before you consider Finnex heaters or controllers...if you must buy it, connect another controller to govern the Finnex product.

I bought the Finnex heaters and controllers because of the reputation of their tanks. Unfortunately, the reputation, and more so the reliability, did not extend to their heating product line. Save yourself some grief and heed my words.

Buy Finnex 100-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 20 to 30-Gallon Now

I am fairly happy with the quality of the heater, and especially with its high wattage for such a small size. The only problem I have seen is that the temperature controller does not set the heater accurately. I had to set the dial four degrees warmer than the temperature of the tank. The heater does, however, work well and keeps the temperature very consistent.

This unit works great so far as opposed to several others which failed within the first week. It is well built.

Thought this was a decent heater (& it was for 6 months). Had it set for 72 degrees.... Checked it tonight & the water temperature was 102 degrees! Everything DEAD. The seller, Coral Aquatics, says it's Finnex's problem. Finnex only has a 180 day warranty (I'm 1 1/2 months past that). Recommend avoiding their products unless you are willing to gamble on a mass kill.

Fluval U2 Underwater Filter Poly/Carbon (Pack of 2)

Fluval U2 Underwater Filter Poly/CarbonWhile it has good filtering qualities, it does seem to get clogged quickly. It may be that I need to upgrade to the U3 filter. I am using this U2 filter in a 30 gallon fresh water tank with 10 fish in the semi-aggressive category. I do have live plants as well in this tank and a 5 watt UV light w/filter.

Clean fishtank well... Seems to filter partiles well. I clean the turtle tank every 2 to 3 months as I would have with the previous fuval filter

Buy Fluval U2 Underwater Filter Poly/Carbon (Pack of 2) Now

I bought these for my Fluval 2 filter. Perfect replacements for what came with the filter. Keeps the water crystal clear. Your turtles will love em too!

These are the filters that go with the U2 filter. They work great and are easy to change, being that you only change on filter each time that you clean the whole set up. My turtle hasn't killed the filter yet ,also she is super dirty and gross so these little things work great.

Want Fluval U2 Underwater Filter Poly/Carbon (Pack of 2) Discount?

Not much to say about these except that they work as expected. Its a little hard to tell how much carbon is actually in these. It could just be black cloth on one side and white on the other for all I know.

SpongeBob SquarePants® 2" Friends & 6" Pineapple House® Aquarium Ornaments

Penn Plax Spongebob Resin OrnamentI have a small goldfish bowl with gravel and some shells but I was missing a "center" piece. Patrick is the perfect size! He is very nicely made and the color is beautiful. Great purchase for fans of Spongebob :)

I bought this product because I wanted to make my son a SpongeBob terrarium (more low-maintenance than a pet fish). While most of the figurines look fine, the Sandy looks weird and unlike the actual character in the show. My other quibble is that the Gary figurine is the same size as SpongeBob. Otherwise, the set was fine and my kid really enjoys the terrarrium.

Buy SpongeBob SquarePants® 2" Friends & 6" Pineapple House® Aquarium Ornaments Now

Did I say small? Yes, Spongebob is less than two inches tall. In our 46 gallen tank he is easily missed.

When I purchased this the product description said nothing about size. My error in not asking as I assumed for the price it would be somewhere around 3+ inches. Oh well, he's found a home in our tank and my twin two-year olds take pleasure in point him out.

GloFish LED Aquarium Light with Blue LEDs

GloFish LED Aquarium Light with Blue LEDsI haven't had this light too long and it wasn't cheap but started to fizzle out on me. It cant be in a regular aquarium hood as it need protection from moisture. I opened mine to see if there was something easy I could fix and the plug adapter fell right off. My freshwater tank had corroded it. It wasn't cheap and was really pretty as first but I would save your money as it will disintegrate over water. They need to seal this unit or warn that being in a hood is within reach of too much water.. Of course where else am I going to put it?? waste of money and I don't know how to fix it.

Marineland Ml90531 20-Inch LED Bubble Wand Auto Color Changing, 20-Inch

Marineland Ml90531 20-Inch LED Bubble Wand Auto Color Changing, 20-InchBought a LED light hood for my tank and the blue LED night is too dim at night. WIth this, it is much brighter for both day & night, so no need to use the blue LED night from hood. Even with the LED day light turn on, it does not affect the colors but only enhance it. If you have a filter, you may consider buying a hollow log so the bubble won't get suck up. Don't know if the bubble or the colors, fishes tended to stay away from it. If you're going to buy a air-stone or LED light light, buy this instead. UPDATE: After few days, the fishes are used to it. As of today, they totally ignore it.

I purchased 2 of these units and 1 was SERIOUSLY DEFECTIVE the first day. After placing the wands in my aquarium, I turning on the lights and my fish freaked out! So I turned them off, but the fish appeared paralyzed and a few floating sideways for about a minute. I removed the wands and placed them in a bucket of water with a volt meter. When the lights were turned on the meter did show current in the water, which meant the defective one was shorting somewhere. So the wand was basically electrocuting my fish and nearly killing $100+ worth of fish!!!

The defective wand might have been a one off, but I would stay away from any submersible electrical device, except for a heater or chiller, unless you want to take the risk of killing your fish.

My fish appeared to recover and hopefully without any ill effect. This is one mistake I will never do again.

Eclipse Aquarium Filtration and Lighting System

Marineland PFE2 Eclipse Illumination Kit Twin Lamps, fits 12-Inch by 24-Inch tanksI recently purchased this hood and paired it with a 20 gal glass tank. This is my first tank and I've found it to be very easy and hassle free. The tank stays very clean and clear and the fish seem to be very healthy and happy. It may be a little pricey compared to a standard setup, but for me, the ease of use and convenience of having everything in one package is worth it. And the top access makes maintenance easy. I currently have 5 zebra danios, 6 cory cats and 3 oto cats in the tank and all seem to be doing very well. I would highly recommend this item for the beginner.

I would also highly recommed purchasing and studying several books on fishkeeping (I bought and read at least 4) before purchasing any system and definitely before purchasing any fish!

Good luck and happy fishkeeping!

Yes, I noticed the rattling problem with the pump. It seems that if the impeller isn't inserted just right then there is this really annoying grating noise that over time will drive you nuts. But the solution is simple, take it apart, make sure everything is clean and spinning freely and just start it up again (something you will need to do anyway from time to time for maintenance).

I find the filter setup to work well though, and the overall design to be quite good.

The lighting? Whether you like it or not depends on whether you want real plants or not. 36 watts for a 25 gallon tank, like mine, is not going to cut it. So you have to find a retrofit system. Sunpaq has some options, but you're going to have to be fairly handy with some tools.

I ended up just removing the stock lighting and then cutting out a slot from both the front and back lift up covers and sticking a Coralife 130w unit over the top of the whole thing. About 5 watts per gallon will "get-er-done".

My advise to the Marineland people is to have some different lighting options available for their all-in-one hoods. I think they'd sell more, or at least be able to sell some retrofits or upgrades once people figure out that the stock system has these limitations. As is, the retrofits are coming from other companies.

I bought the thing because the sales dude told me I could upgrade the lighting later. He either knowingly lied, or didn't explain that I would be looking at an exciting retrofit project. ;o)

Buy Eclipse Aquarium Filtration and Lighting System Now

I purchased this tank 9 months ago and have been fairly happy with it. It looks nice. I love the rounded corners which look much better than the glued glass panes. The acrylic material is still holding up, but I am a lot more careful cleaning it than with glass. The only problem I've had with this unit is a rattling noise that seems to come from the hood. It can be quite for 10 minutes to a couple of days. Then it starts rattling. I adjust the hood and it goes away. Lately, in the last couple of weeks the pump has started with some serious rattling which I can't get rid of. It annoys me and I am sure the fish are even more annoyed. I cleaned the impeller and every surface of the pump, but without luck. So I think I have to go buy a new pump.

Read Best Reviews of Eclipse Aquarium Filtration and Lighting System Here

This is my second Eclipse 3 [not 2 as sold above] for my 29-gallon tank. I love the convenience of it, etc. But the hood light has never properly worked -not on the first one, which I had for nearly three years, nor on the new one. Only one bulb illuminates -unless you take the darned thing apart and do quite a bit of maneuvering daily. Just thought I should share that with all.

Want Eclipse Aquarium Filtration and Lighting System Discount?

We recently replaced our under gravel filter system with an Eclipse 2 lid. It truly is a complete mechanical, chemical & biological system all in one. Upsides: Looks great, is well designed, keeps the water clean & clear, easy to maintain, the live plants are thriving and our fish are entertained with the current created with the filter outflow. We have not noticed any loud noise issues with the pump/filter. Downside: The dual lighting system and very little ventilation in the lid cause our tank temps to go over 80 degrees during the summer. We tried leaving the back lid open in the air-conditioned room and adding chilled water daily, but the temps still got over 80. We solved the problem by cutting a hole in the back lid and wiring in a small computer fan which we run on a timer when the lights are on. The temp is now consistently at 77 degrees. Despite the lack of air circulation, we are still very pleased with the Eclipse filtration lid.

Zoo Med Laboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab Scooper

Zoo Med Laboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab ScooperI was unable to use this item. Everything I scooped up went right back through. I purchased a small fish net that cost 88 cent that works wonderful! I did wash the scoop very well and gave it to my son to play in the sand, so it wasn't a complete loss!

this product wasn't that helpful for my crabs because the "stuff" that i scooped just went right through the holes and back in to the cage

Buy Zoo Med Laboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab Scooper Now

This product is worthless. As everyone said, the smaller "stuff" just falls through. The scoop is fine for picking up pieces of food scattered around, but worthless for droppings. Think I'll try the fishnet that was suggested by another reviewer. In short, don't waste your money unless you have big crabs!

Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med Laboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab Scooper Here

This scooper is awesome. It makes cleaning the hermit crab tank a lot easier. Granted, it's not perfect, any poop picker upper is not perfect whether you're talking about a dog scooper or a manure fork that you use to clean horse's stalls. Sometimes you'll miss a few items but you'll get it eventually if you just try again. I think that the scooper is a great tool and is perfectly made for hermit crab droppings. I recommend it for an easy way to clean up your crabitat!

Want Zoo Med Laboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab Scooper Discount?

I would scoop and my hermit crabs' poop would fall right through. This is crap. If you want something that actually works, get a fish net and use that to sift through all the nasty stuff in your terrarium. It's a bit more tedious and time consuming, but it does an exquisite job.

Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet

Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 FeetWell I bought this item along with the 3600gph tetra pump and the 1500uv pressure filter. Everything worked great...at first. Came home from work today and found the hose had burst and drained my 800 gallon pond. Luckily I put it on a shelf so there was still about a foot of water for my fish. My plants however did not like being stranded in 95 degree weather and I doubt they will recover.

I had my old 1200gph pump connected to the tetra waterfall filter, that pump overheated and the shaft melted so it's now garbage.

In conclusion the cheapest part, the hose failed after less than 2 weeks and it will cost me a $120 pump, probably $50 in plants, and 600 gallons of water, I hope the fish don't die.

Beware.

had it installed about 2 hours and the first 20' section burst............now I'm wondering about the other section, thank god I didn't bury it. this is not the product you want to use....now how do I get a refund for it.a worthless purchase, the cheap stuff from the lumberyard is more trustworthy........I expected more, this not the tubing you want to use

Buy Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Now

I purchased this tubing expecting a far better result. Within a week it had burst causing my pond to go to seriously low levels. I was out of town and had to call my plumber to fix the problem only to find that the next day another major leak occurred. Do not buy this product! This tubing has caused me major set backs and now I have to redo all the pond plumbing.

Read Best Reviews of Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Here

They may claim this is 1 1/2" hose but not one of the 1 1/2" barb fittings I used would fit inside this hose. 1 1/4" barbs were too small and would have leaked. I didn't have time to return this dimensionallly incorrect product so I took my 1 1/2" barbs and ground them down with a belt sander until they fit. The product is "inexpensive" only if time and effort don't matter too you. I do NOT recommend this hose.

Want Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Discount?

Very thin walls and does NOT have a inside diameter of 1-1/2; more like 1-1/8 or 1-1/4. Furthermore, I would strongly suggest NOT burying this. I decided to just use it for very low pressure applications; mainly backwashing.

Marineland Diamond Blend Activated Carbon/Ammonia Neutralizing Crystals

Marineland PA0392 Diamond Blend Activated Carbon/Ammonia Neutralizing Crystals, 50-Ounce, 1417-GramPros:

With following the rule of 30g to 30gal(min) this stuff works wonders, I had and was using HBH and it's carbon

if excellent no lie but its Ammonia Neutralizing blend really was a waste. You may pay a tad more for this but

that 3 bucks is worth every extra penny, plus EntirelyPets has it cheaper then the pet stores. Don't get me wrong

you still smell a tad of fishy/turtle water but you gotta stick you nose in the water.

-No smell compared to all other blends

anyone with turtles will know that nasty smell this is you answer)

-Lasts over a month *I change every month for best results*

-Less dust then all others so you barely have to rinse it

-If you water smells put this in a bag run you filter 24hr and your water will be crystal and smell free

-Not saying you wanta but when you change the media smell the water then the media and you be like WOW

this blend locks in a lot a smell and the only smell is off the media.

Cons:

-The picture is a tad wrong just like burger king their menu looks better then the food but the split on carbon to

Ammonia blend is like 5 parts Ammonia to 3 parts carbon, but still works just stating any negative which isn't because

its Marineland. Only other negative I bought two of these and one the lids were brittle and upon deliver it broke but

box was taped up very good and I saved all it and still works*I know this isn't ship review but those are the only

two negatives I have to say so buy some!!*

I use diamond blend on both my tanks and it keeps them CRYSTAL CLEAR. I do add a little extra Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon 10 oz. (283g)to get a better 50/50 ratio and it does the job. IMO it's better and cheaper than buying the pre-made filter inserts.

This stuff does the trick for filtering and keeping tanks looking good. However, If you don't have ammonia issues in general, it's a little pricey. We have Koi, and they're notoriously dirty fish, but with routine maintenance we don't have ammonia spikes or nitogen issues. A standard activated carbon works for us, and we order that from a chem company. However, if your tank needs some dire or extra attention, this is the way to go. Does several jobs at once, and works quickly provided you have a decent filtration system.

Cichlid Lake Salt, 250 g / 8.8 oz

Cichlid Lake Salt, 250 g / 8.8 ozWe have had a 38 gallon cichlid tank for awhile now. We keep losing fish. A friend gave us a 46 gallon tank and we decided to move the cichlids to the bigger tank. We decided that this time, we were going to do it right. We used cichlid sand and this cichlid salt. When we went to test the water before putting the fish in, everything was right on. The first 6 fish have been in the new tank for 5 days now and are doing well. No casualties from the move, and their colors are so much brighter. Our orange fish is bright neon now, and the yellow fish are so much brighter, too! In another 5 days or so, we'll add the rest of the cichlids to the new tank. I'm so glad that we bought this salt.

Aqueon Essence Aquarium Stand, Black

Aqueon 06531 Essence 24-Inch Aquarium Stand, BlackWas looking forward to getting this stand (24" model) so I could put a new 10 Gallon fish tank on it.....Well it arrived today and to my surprise...it's a piece of garbage. I gave it a "1 star" only because it showed up at the door....nothing more. I was not surprised to find it already assembled as I have read that in early reviews. When I took it out of the large box I noticed a dent on the leading top edge of the stand which annoyed me right away then I set it down on my rug and noticed the flimsy and poor construction. The stand wobbles from side to side and the wood is held together by four screws, wooden dowels and staples which fell out on my kitchen floor and in the shipping box. The back panel that was stapled to the stand fell off as I pulled this out of the box. This piece is nothing more than one of those cheap put it together kits you can get at Target or Kmart but at a hefty price.....a rip off in my opinion. I bought this item because I was concerned about the weight of a fish tank and leaving it plugged in. I didn't want to come home to a tipped over tank, dead fish, fire or worse.....However this stand is hardly capable of handling a lamp and a book much less the fish tank weight.....please do not buy...I will look into using a metal rack or a real piece of furniture.

I was glad to see this came pre-assembled. What disappointed me was that the person that has to preassemble it must not like their job. I don't blame them, I wouldn't either. The black laminate was pasted on the edges in haste to cover up the pressboard edges. It fits a 10 gallon tank perfectly. I used a sharpie to cover up the areas where the edges of the pressboard showed. There was a little wrinkle in one of the laminate areas on the front but unless you are looking for it, you don't notice.

This is our first fish tank. We wanted something simple to support the 80 lbs necessary. This served the purpose for the price but isn't anything more than a utilitarian solution.

I had a tough time finding a stand that matched my Mr. Aqua 17.4 (60cm x 30cm). I was afraid to use "cheap" furniture without knowing if it had dense particle board or natural wood. I eventually gave in and purchased the Essence stand for a number of reasons: It closely matched the tanks dimensions, cost ~$120, pre-assembled, sturdy, clean design, and arrived within 1 business day. The quality of the is in line with its price. It has particle board, but dense particle board designed suitable for its purpose. There is a good chance that the stand will arrive chipped or cracked due to Fedex/UPS. Thats one of the downsides to shipping a produce pre-assembled.

Sometimes stuff happens and you need to put more water in the pond than you have cured. Been using this for years and never had a problem from the chlorinated water or side effects in the koi.

As the instructions state, the product must be sprinkled directly on the algae and you must turn off any waterfalls, fountains, etc for at least 30 minutes during and after application. If you do both, then this product should kill the algae for you as well as it did for me. It did not harm my fish.

I've wanted to clean out my fish pond for two years now, but like everything else I do I kept putting it off. My wife finally got to the point of total exasperation I relented and started to plan for the cleaning last winter. Found out I needed some crap to take the chlorine out of the water and bought this stuff, the fish are alive so it works great. Lucky fish!

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 100-Watt

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 100-Wattthis is a small heater with digital display and variable temp setting. this heater works well in a small aquarium to maintain water temp indoors. very easy to use compact heater for submersed enviroment, always make sure to completely submerge this heater, and keep in well moving water like over an air stone. we use this heater in a ten(10) gal. aquarium with live plants and fish and neither seem to notice it. it keeps the temp at the set temp in a chilly room through winter and it has worked perfectly. it is always best to leave the heater in year round to prevent altering Ph, and to maintain the heater in a safe place. the suction cups that come with this item works well and the rubber insulation/padding provide excelent protection from minor bumps during installation.

This is my first Finnex product, and so far I'm very pleased.

What you get is a modern looking heater with a very nice and easy to read screen which shows the current water temperature, but when you are setting your desired temp it will show the temp you desire and then switch back to the current temperature of the water. This heater appears to be of very high quality construction. Very solid ends, suction cups and even the power cord is just nicer. Everything about it shouts quality. However this is no indicator as to how long it will perform, which in the past for many other heater brands I've owned (Tetra, Marineland, DeepBlue and Marina) is about 6 months or so.

Pros: Appears to be built very well, from the digital screen to the power cord. I love the way it looks. The screen is very easy to read, a plus for me since I do not see so well. I like how you set it by simply pressing a button on top until you reach your desired temperature. I really prefer this method of setting the desired temperature over the knobs on most other heaters which you must twist to set the temperature which may or may not have markings and most are very hard to see while the heater is still in the aquarium, but not so with the digital screen on this one. I can also attest that my heater's thermostat matches my thermometer perfectly, rare with aquarium heaters in my experience so far.

Cons: Has a separate temperature probe, which helps maintain overall water temperature more accurately (a plus) but some might see it as unsightly (a con). It doesn't bother me at all, it is small and high quality like the rest of the heater.

At this point I would recommend this product with the only hesitation being that I do not know how long it will last, but if it lasts 6 or so months, then it is on par with other brands I've had many of in the past and I prefer these over them. Hopefully it will last for years, or at least a couple years. I'll try to remember to update this review on the longevity of the heater.

I current have 8 aquarium up and running in my home.

Put this heater in my 29 gallon freshwater aquarium. Keeps the heat on the target temperature at all times and the built in thermometer is very convenient. Can't beat it for the price!

I purchased 3 of these in the past year. I really liked the first one so I bought two more. As of today the last one has died, they all just stopped working in less than a year. Pretty much poorly made crap.
