While it has good filtering qualities, it does seem to get clogged quickly. It may be that I need to upgrade to the U3 filter. I am using this U2 filter in a 30 gallon fresh water tank with 10 fish in the semi-aggressive category. I do have live plants as well in this tank and a 5 watt UV light w/filter.

Clean fishtank well... Seems to filter partiles well. I clean the turtle tank every 2 to 3 months as I would have with the previous fuval filter

These are the filters that go with the U2 filter. They work great and are easy to change, being that you only change on filter each time that you clean the whole set up. My turtle hasn't killed the filter yet ,also she is super dirty and gross so these little things work great.

Not much to say about these except that they work as expected. Its a little hard to tell how much carbon is actually in these. It could just be black cloth on one side and white on the other for all I know.

Petco LED Bubbling Volcano Aquatic Ornament

The volcano itself looks great and when the lights and bubbles are coming out the top it becomes a great focal point in an aquarium. The problem I ran into was after about 2 weeks in the tank, the LED lights began to dull pretty bad. The first few days the LEDs would light up the tank at night and add some additional light to the room. After the second week, you couldn't even tell that there were lights inside the volcano unless you looked in directly from above. Perhaps keeping the lights on a timer could help keep them from wearing out? It still looks good with the bubbles coming from the top, just a little disappointing that the lights had to dull so quickly.

First of all I thought this vacuum was going to be great because of the telescoping feature, well, when you try to stick the end in the gravel, the telescoped part just goes right back into the tube, and when you do manage to get it in the gravel, it just sucks up an entire tube-ful of it and then doesn't pick up anything else, and the gravel won't come out. I had to stop the siphon, and get the gravel out, then restart it again, and immediately the tube filled up with gravel again.

I do not recommend this product. it picks gravel up and they get stuck in the end. constantly having to pick rocks out of siphon. will work good for changing water though.

I got this tank recently and love it. Very clear. Very nice. I hope to get more in the future from the Mr. Aqua line of aquariums.

This is my fourth Mr. Aqua aquarium over the past year (I also have a 17.4, a 12 long and a 13.3 gallon bowfront) and I am still very impressed with their overall construction. These aquariums are manufactured in Taiwan, and constructed out of glass.

And while they don't have quite the clarity of the Aqua Design Amano aquariums, they are close enough, nearly as well constructed, and a fraction of the price for a similar sized tank.

Given that I have only owned these tanks for under a year, I will update this review in the future, to document how they stand up over time.

Thus far, the Mr. Aqua line of aquariums continues to represent some of the best value in aquariums on the consumer market.

I would also like to see this company build some low profile aquariums like the Aqua Design Amano F series.

In particular the ADA 90-F and 120-F. However, at a more reasonable price. The 90-F and 120-F were beautiful looking aquariums, however at about 15 gallons and 18 gallons respectively, and $500 and $800 each, it's no wonder ADA has chosen to discontinue them.

These aquariums were simply too overpriced for most fishkeepers to justify purchasing, given their nano size.

If Mr. Aqua can manufacture these aquariums for around $150, in my opinion, they will sell every tank they build.

You have to take care when cleaning the carbon filter as it will break apart if cleaning it with too high of water pressure, use the lowest water pressure that you can use possible to extend the life of the carbon filter.

Petco Brooklyn 55 Gallon Metal Tank Stand

First the stand is real metal. I have had the particle board stands over the years and once they get wet they are done for.

This will definitely hold a 55 gallon tank. It is easy to put together but be aware that the finish scratches easily. If it is really powder coating as they claim, it is the thinnest coating I have ever seen. If a Burbur carpet could scratch the finish it is not powder coating. Most of the welded corners are ground down flush and only a few are not perfect. You really have to get close to see it.

And my big gripe? There was welding spatter in one of the bolt holes. This caused difficulty in getting the bolt in. I couldn't. A tap was needed to clear it out. The threads are 8mm 1.25 for the record. And yes it is made in China.

One last great feature I have never seen in a wooden stand is that the feet are adjustable. This is great! Just put a level on the stand and you can make it perfect! It does not matter if your floor is not perfectly level.

This is an incredibly great product. Assembly and set up was very easy and all the necessary tools (an Allen/hexagonal wrench) are supplied. Finish of the product pieces was perfect and, contrary to experience/claim of another reviewer, the finish was not subject to incidental damage. On top of its attractive modern design, this stand is incredibly strong and should easily be able to support 800 lbs. (Typical 55 gallon set up is about 600 lbs. not including the stand.) Feet are adjustable, so if your floor is not perfectly level, no problem! (This is a feature I have never seen in a competitive acquarium stand product.) And the price can't be beat!

What could be bad about this? Well maybe you don't like the metal construction or color, preferring something wooden. Or maybe you don't like the open design, wanting a cabinet where you can hide your equipment from site below the tank without using skirting material.

But when it comes to strength and functional utility, this actually may be the best 55 gallon acquarium stand that money can buy.

This stand holds my 55 gal. aquarium well enough. However, I'd be lying if I said I'm not the slightest bit disappointed. My stand came with some defects. Firstly, one of the bolt holes was stripped. None of the bolts would tighten up into that top hole, which supports the top piece. It was quite aggravating, enough that I even considered taking it back to my local Petco and getting my money back, but it didn't come to that. With a little tape placed around the bolt, I was able to screw it in so that it wasn't as loose, and I felt that was sufficient enough.

After I got it together and set my 55 gallon tank on it did the real problem surface. There is a huge gap in the center of the tank between the tank itself and the stand. I mean, I can see through this gap and to my wall on the other side! A tank that is expected to hold roughly 650 pounds of water needs every inch of its base fully supported by the stand, otherwise, the unevenness will put stress in odd places of the tank's base, causing leaks, possibly even cracks, or shattering the tank. To remedy this, I am going to buy a Styrofoam sheet from my local hardware store and place that under my tank to help properly support the base.

This stand is definitely not the highest of quality. But, I paid 75 bucks for something that successfully holds a 55 gal. aquarium full of water, but with a bit of help from Styrofoam. I can't really argue. All in all, I'm somewhat satisfied. It looks nice, and it has adjustable feet, which was a big plus for me, as my floors aren't quite level.

It's sturdy and it was a great buy either way. Just watch out for those bolts and the uneven surface.

My pump is around three years old and noticed less air performance. I removed the bottom casing and noticed the diaphragm was damaged. I was going to buy a cheaper model and brand but feared I would be disappointed. The fix is simple following the included installation instructions and is a 5 min fix. One thing I would mention, after I replaced the works and ran for the first time it was much louder than before (my mistake). When replacing the metal arm that holds the diaphragm/magnet make sure it is seated well in the air pump housing. Make sure to push the arm's plastic outer grooved mount as far down into the housing as possible. That took care of all the vibration noise issue after adjusting the air regulator and works fantastic.

This decor looks nice in my tank, complementing the ancient ruins style I've tried to create in there. The wall does a nice job of hiding the front view of the intake tube for my filter. But I just wish the wall was a bit taller so it could better fit the height of my 29-gallon tank.

This is a fun corner decoration, nicely detailed, for fish tank or vivarium. my only teeny tiny gripes are 1) there should be a suction cup on the back to secure it to the back wall of the tank. Every so often I find it leaning forward because a critter has pushed it off the glass. But those are cheap enough. And 2)It kind of irritates that the same style isn't offered for both sides-I don't want to mix my ancient temples...it's such a minor thing really but I prefer balance. This right handed one resembles an ancient Asian temple where as the left handed one resembles a Mayan temple.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted for the jungle ruins theme in my fish tank! I only have two very small complaints. 1) it's not as tall as I would like for my 29 gallon, but that was easily fixed by creating a sort of hill with my sand, and 2) like another reviewer stated, it needs suction cups or something in the back. It tips forward pretty easily, even after trying to "anchor" it down with sand. Besides those two things, it's amazing and I'm very happy I spent the money on it.

Python Brass Adapter for Aquarium

Cleaning my aquarium is much easier with this product and and the brass adapter is very durable and resists stripping.

If I had known that Python now ships with a brass adapter I wouldn't have ordered one bowever it's always good to have a back up and I keep it for my tanks that are on a different level of the house.

Python has been around for just about as long as I've been keeping fish which is over 35 years. I haven't used one in decades but decided to get a new one and check out the improvments. Not much has changed but the brass adapter is a major step up from the old plastic one. Those wouldn't last very long, the threads would strip away entriley after a few uses an the seal was never complete enough to stop water from spraying everyplace but it STILL beat carrying around those buckets!

This adpater is pretty universal and should fit most any faucet. Theres amale and female side, if you have a diffuser or water saver on your faucet simply remove it and pop this one in and you're good to go.

ok first off if you have LARGE cichlids they can't get in this cave when full grown... however it is MUCH bigger than it looks.. . I have a 48" wide 75 Gallon tank and this takes up about 1/3 of the bottom.. it also has a mostly flat top/bottom

so while the adults can't get IN the cave.. they can easily use the top for egg laying and the fry will be able to hide in it..

I am very happy with this overall!! especially for the price!

We have several aquariums with Large cichlids. We buy caves for helping reproductions of cichlids, but normally at the pet shop they are very very expensive (an equivalent to this one in the pet shop could cost about $80cand.) so this one's really make a good job.

The only but it's the entrance whole which could be a little bigger.

Instant Ocean SCPS-100 SeaClone Protein Skimmer, 100-Gallon

Been using the Seaclone 100 as a hang-on a 36 gallon tank for about 2 months, and have had no problems. It removes scum very effectively, and is easy to empty. The quick disconnect makes it easy to remove the intake tube, leaving the pump attached to the tank, and simply lift the unit off the tank for cleaning. As for adjustments, I simply leave the air intake almost completely open, just snug enough to keep the valve from falling out, and it works perfectly. As for long term reliability I'll just have to see, but don't see any reason to dislike this unit. If it only had a surface skimmer I would give it 5 stars.

I've used a SeaClone100 hanging on back of a 55-gal for about 10 years and it works fine. Keep the O-Rings fresh, clean the joints, intake and filter and it will last for years. I use another SeaClose100 on an 80-gallon and I have to empty the cup every two weeks. Can't find better in this price range.

I have been using plastic aquarium plants for 10 years and these, by far, are the best!

1. They are sturdy and dont come apart in the water. ( I use 2 power heads in my 75 gal tank )

The advertised color of the dog bed cover was clay. The one I received was black with gray cloth insert. I have bought several extra large dog beds. One had the zipper open the length of the end and side to help get the foam in. Another opened the length of one side and made it more difficult to put the foam in. The Big Shrimpy had a zipper on one end only. Trying to put a piece of foam for an extra large bed from the end is quite a task. I will never own another one.

No turtle should live in this or any other plastic "lagoon.". Turtles are expensive to maintain in proper and humane conditions. Please do not subject a baby turtle to this death trap. The most popular pet turtle, the Red Eared Slider, requires at least 10 gallons of water per inch of shell length, filtration for 3x the size of the tank, proper water and basking temperatures, and a UVB bulb.

Hermit crabs climb. I'd say if you don't mind trying to find your crab every morning, by all means, go ahead and use this. Like another reviewer said this would be a death trap for a baby water turtle. This isn't some cheap quick fix habitat because you didn't do enough research.

Hermit crabs are awesome, fun, crazy pets. BUT there is a lot of information out there that is incorrect when it comes to their care needs. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS CAGE. I used this cage in my very early days of having hermit crabs, I then learned the hard way a lot of the things that hermit crabs need that this cage cannot provide. These are some of the things...

1. Metal is dangerous and toxic to hermit crabs, small exposure is okay but not as toys or part of their tank

2. hermit crabs need 3-6" of substrate to dig into and burry themselves in to molt successfully.

3. there is not enough room in this cage to have all the items that a crab needs.

a. salt water dish

b. fresh (declorinated) water dish

c. food dish

d. room to climb and explore

4. this cage cannot hold in heat or humidity, which is vital in keeping hermies alive. Crabs have gills, they need to be able to keep them moist at all times.

when I changed tanks, I kept this cage for "incase of an emergency" moments. If I am having an aggressive crab or crab fights, I COULD use this tank to have them calm down for a little bit or I have used this when I am deep cleaning my tank or when I moved I used this to transfer them (but I removed the water dish and metal climbing wall). Now that I have since upgraded twice, I do not use this because I have a ten gallon tank that I use to isolating an aggressive crab. If you have 1-2 hermit crabs, I have found a 10 gallon tank works good, if you plan on having more, go bigger!

ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT BUY PAINTED SHELLS FOR YOUR HERMIT CRABS -THEY ARE TOXIC !!

First, I bought this as a container for a 5th grade science project. However, I could see this being a cool hermit crab "habitat" as opposed to those cheesy little containers you get from the beach. But I can't possible see this giving a turtle a place to live. Way too small. I would think the turtle could easily climb right out of there. I would definitely look for another home for turtle. But, it worked great for 5th grade ocean project!
