we have a 20 gallon tank. my old 12 hour feeder we used for vacation for about 6 years stopped working properly. looked at a lot of feeders-really happy with this feeder. we use hard and flake; just break them up really well. go slow with the programit is not that hard as some have written, just follow instructions! i first did a test outside the tank to get the set-up just right[used a large cup] have it set for two feedings;8am and 8pmat three quarter. the food does not get damp at all. now we use it all the time-no more wondering if i feed them or notand always the right amount. This feeder has not let me down, and gives me piece of mind. so i must give thumbs up to a great product! thanks amazon for another good product, delivered on time!

My first impression of this was good until I had to take it apart, then the plastic container was so hard to undo it almost broke. It later broke after 3 food changes but I also noticed that the food was starting to mold and got maggots into the food.... I have other fish food feeders and this one is by far the WORST!

Be prepared to do some self modifications.Design faults.--[1]If you mount to top edge of tank your food will get damp,and be cloggy.[mod]Fix a home made extension plate to rim of tank to raise the device at least 4ins.out of the condensation zone. [2]The battery power is not adequate at 3volts[AA]battery.it may last 2weeks then drum fails to turn.[mod]Tap into the leads leading to battery terminals internally.Attach outside wires[fine] and feed outside of case.couple to a 4 to 4.5volt supply.An old mobile phone charger will do and time it through a time switch say 1hr.twice a day.Important-you must replace the AA batteries with rechargeable ones. You now have good voltage all the time,and no more failures.

-It is a newer version than the ones I've seen on youtube, everything comes apart/together very easily

-The attachment for the tank is sturdy and well made

-The actual feeder comes off the mount so that you just have to slide it on to the mount (which is sturdy) when you go on vacation

The food adjustment works well, I'm using flakes

-Set up and buttons are easy to understand

-holds a lot of food

-It is bulky but that shouldnt matter

-the clock does not have am/pm I'm pretty sure

-wish it could be plugged into wall (not sure how long batteries last)

***only real dislike was that the slider for amount of food (max-min) seems to be loose if it is not clicked into max or min setting (mine is in the middle). BUT the rotation of the wheel is so light and smooth I don't think it would ever slip to one extreme or the other.

Overall I think this is a way better deal than the one that is like $30+, but i'm broke so who knows

I bought this for small turtle pellets, it occasionally has a few pellets get stuck, but after a few feedings it clears itself up. I like how it has 4 feeding times with multiple rotation choices. This allows me to make sure that we don't have uneaten food floating around. The side clamp holds tight and was is a big plus, the last feeder we had fell in and died. I am buying a second to stretch how long I can go with out refilling.

The product worked well until the float filled with water through the seams. To inexpensive to send back, so I was able to separate the tank assembly and reglue properly. Works fine after my repair. Would not recommend. I used expoxy type glue which has held up for several weeks so far. Quality control needed by maker. Unit to an several hours to fill up with water. Very small leak.

These marbles should not be described as black at all.

Though in the picture they may look black, the only way you'll see them as black in person is if you turn off all the lights.

These marbles are gunmetal silver. If i wanted silver marbles, I would have looked for some, however, after spending 8+ dollars for 100 marbles that are NOT the color they are labeled, I am extremely disappointed.

Some look at these as regular marbles. I look at them as part of a working piece of art work.

The marbles came on time & in good order, however the "black" marbles aren't really "black", they are more like a mirrored blue/grey. If I were using them for a decor solution & wanted BLACK, I would be unhappy, but because these marbles make AWESOME slingshot ammo, I'm liking them big time!! To be honest, slingshot ammo is what I bought them for in the 1st place!!

There is a previous review on this item referencing a loss during shipping. The product itself is in ok shape, but the packaging was severely damaged and there are small glass shards at the bottom of the shipping 'bag' like some of the marbles have chipped. We're using these for center pieces at our wedding, so hopefully none are damaged.

It doesn't measure 24" with the stand/legs factored in, it's more around 26".

The fixture itself is 24", but with the leg-stands, on a 24" wide tank (measuring from lid lip to lid lip, so, a 20 gallon tank), it will NOT stand on the edge of the tank with the legs included, even if they're pushed all the way in, and will need to be hung or modified (we added small wood boards to the legs to give it more of a 'platform' so it would sit properly) if you don't want it directly on the glass.

The light itself is sleek and bright, as one would expect from T5 lighting.

It comes with two ballasts, each one requiring an outlet spot obviously, so keep that in mind in terms of how many outlets you have free near your tank.

Good lighting. i haven't noticed eny excessive heat comeing from it. don't like that it comes with two power cords. thus needing extra plug ins.they r hard to hide considering. the size of the power packs r quite large. Ill be on the look out for something a little less space consuming . also we used it on our 20 gall wich the light did not fit. so u have it riged up to fit

There's not much to say about a glass cleaner it either works or doesn't. This one does work well, the magnets are very strong be careful not to get pinched accidentally. My only small little gripe is that I'd like other colors as the whitish color is one scares the fish, two visually unattractive if you leave it on all the time like I do. Lets get some black, dark green or dark grey. Other than that it's great. Also helps that it floats if it comes off.

Tetra AquaSafe Water Conditioner with BioExtract

7 drops in an average little fish bowl with normal water and I have had a Beta for over two years now using nothing but this! Every couple of weeks, I rinse the bowl, replace water, put the drops in, done deal. Good stuff. Keeps your fish healthy. The end.

So, I used this initially when I first got an aquarium because someone else told me they used it. At first all was fine, it does what it needs to do by getting rid of the ammonia/chlorine from tap water.

Here's the thing, these water conditioners that have "slime coat" crap in them, the way they work is by BURNING the fish, the irritation induces them to produce their slime coat. I wasn't aware of this, but when I was using it, I noticed that some of my fish would always flash swim rapidly up and down the glass I didn't know if it was them being "excited" to have a water change, no, they were just in pain/stressed.

Anyway, after coming to the end of my bottle in like 1 month's time, I ordered Seachem Safe (powder version of Prime). My fish no longer flash, and it works better, way more cost efficient. Save your money, buy Safe or Prime, both are way better.

Whenever you add new tap water to your aquarium the chemistry of the water changes, these changes can be very harmful to the fish depending on how drastic they are. So it's recommended you do a 10-20% water change every week to your aquarium to help reduce chemicals like ammonia and dilute the nitrites etc. But the tap water also carries harmful chlorine and chloramine.

Tetra AquaSafe removes both and enhances the stress coat produced by your fish, thus making it perfect to condition your aquarium. I've had no problems whatsoever with it, and it has greatly improved the overall health of my fish.

I personally don't use it with every water change (although its recommended that you do) but that's usually based on the amt being added and the condition of my tap water.

Previous reviews were helpful. I use it everytime I change the water. The water stays clean for about two weeks easily. It says aquarium for fish but I have been using it for my turtle aquarium and it has worked out fine. The filmy residue does appear but just make sure not to use in excess and it should not be an issue. Also, if you are using this for turtles, frequent baths also help to remove the film from the shell.

Fluval G3 Fine Pre-Filter Cartridge

I have had trouble using the blue filter cartridge with the G3. It seems to suppress the water flow which is not too great for the G3 anyway. It also seems to mess up the callibration for the filter. I had Hagen-Fluval replace the filter twice. Using the white filter is best.
