Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Gravel Tube Extension, 20-Feet

Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Gravel Tube Extension, 20-FeetMoved from an apartment to a house and my 25 foot python would not reach to the new sink. Bought the 20 foot extension and all is good.

It hooks up easy and works.

It's an extension hose. What else can you say? LOL! Seriously though, if you're still cleaning your aquarium the old fashioned way, stop. Get a Python. It's one of the best time savers ever invented!

This hose works just fine and connects to my existing 25ft python system. Not too happy about the price, but atleast i know i bought a quality hose that should last as long as my existing python setup!

Marineland Ml90532 LED Bubble Ring- Auto Color Changing, 4-Inch DIA

Marineland Ml90532 LED Bubble Ring- Auto Color Changing, 4-Inch DIAI purchased this LED bubble ring for my 20 gallon tank. I have had no problem with it floating as I buried the first 1-2 inches of the cord and air line tubing in the substrate. And I do mean bury, not just cover them. I have nothing on top to hold it down just a few pebbles that get pushed around by the gravel vac and my oranda. The lighting is brillient and the bubbles it produces, in my opinion, are small to medium in size, not fine like that of an airstone or bubble wand. I have large apple snails that move across the unit itself as well as on the cord and tubing, and it stays inplace. During the day with my tank's LED lights on, I can see the colors from the bubble ring although I don't normally keep it on during the day just at night...it's quite captivating!

PRETTY. LIGHTS UP OUR TANK, WE DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER LIGHT. GREAT NIGHTLIGHT.

THE PRODUCT CAME IN TWO DAYS, JUST AS PROMISED.

AFTER A MONTH OR SO...IT FLOATS!, IT KEEPS FLOATING TO THE TOP, EVEN THOUGH IT'S WEIGTED DOWN BY ROCKS. VERY FEW BUBBLES, TUBE KEEPS CLOGGING.

After reading reviews and searching online , I had finly broke down and bought two of these Led Bubble Rings . And I must say I don't regret it for a moment . Now I have found they can float if not weighted properly . So don't use just small gravel , mix it up a bit for more depth , small ,med and large rock up to two inch . It will look great . And you may want to add a valve on your air line so your not over doing it with the pressure . I do like this model better than the tetra Led lite because you can get smaller gravel inside the grooves in the ring and it has better outside tabs so you can get your rocks and gravel up close and the power cord is a little longer with an on and off switch . This does make it alot easyier to cut the power when time for bed . One last thing , you don't need to buy the crystal center piece it looks great without it , just my opinion of course . Thank everyone for taking the time to read this and have a great day .

This was a great idea, just didnt work. First off it doesn't come with the plant or "crystal" decoration, and I have tried multiple ways to keep this thing on the bottom of my aquarium it just floats to the top...Needs more weight or suction cups or something... for the money I'd get something else.

I really like this bubbler. It really gives a cool look to my aquarium. The only few things I would mention, though seemingly minor, would be that if you don't watch for it, algae can build up around the lights. Also it seems kinda hard to get it to sink. It needs weights or something on it, because it wants to just float to the top. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Battery Powered Portable Air Pump

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Battery Powered Portable Air PumpKept my fish alive during Superstorm Sandy. We had no power for over a week, and this little thing kept bubbling away. We ran it 24 hours a day and it only needed one battery change mid-way. We have a 20 gallon with about 11 fish. It runs fairly quiet compared to a previous pump that I had.

It came with air line tubing and an air stone in case you need one. Nice to have that bonus.

The plastic case isn't the highest quality I have ever seen in a product, but the batteries fit in, the case closed and the pump worked, so hard to complain for less than $10.00!

the best thing about this battery powered air pump is that it is cheep but it gets the job done i am glad that i got 3 of these pumps i have a 125 gallon tank with 3 full grown oscars in it this past year we had a power outage for 12 days and this pump kept them all alive one more comment for those that would like a light on your tank they make something that you plug your light into it will run it for about 24 hours but the batteries for it are nt cheep like $12 for just one

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this unit. I wanted it for a portable live bait pail. It works, but it's noisy and I'm not sure how it's going to hold up over time. The plastic is kind of thin and the battery contacts are as low quality as they could be made and still work.

We'll see...

No complaints about this product, and not much to add to my title. I had to drive from Northwest Indiana to Kissimmee Florida (a good 17 hour drive, NOT including the periodic rest stops and gas stations) and this was one of 3 pumps I had going for my 3 containers of fish. As I said, this thing kept trucking along the entire trip, even well after we arrived to our destination. I'm not sure how much longer it would have lasted, but all I know is, I was STILL going when I decided to just put new batteries in while I kept the fish in their bins while I caught some zzz's.

Great product. Great reliability.

Tetra Water Wonders Aquarium Kit

Tetra 29137 WaterWonders Aquarium Cube, 1.5 Gallons, BlackI bought this tank at PetSmart about a week ago, and so far I'm impressed. The kit includes the Whisper 3i in-tank filter, a couple of bio filter replacement cartridges, tubing, pump, LED light, and two plastic plants that can be attached on a grid like system that runs along the bottom of the tank (there are 8 possible positions). It doesn't come with water treatment, gravel, or food, but it does have a convenient storage shelf that pulls out from the bottom for these items.

Before this tank, I had my Betta in a small Marina cube, which only held a half Liter of water. Two weeks later, I decided to upgrade to this kit. After a day of adjustment, my fish really began to enjoy his new home and has since built a bubble nest. The LED can swivel from side to side and adjust up or down, so I like to angle it towards the filter in the back corner. This allows enough light to illuminate the tank nicely, but avoids exposing my Betta to direct bright light when I have it on. The light itself it great. Using LEDs means very little electricity usage, as well as almost no heat output. The switch is located on the side, so it's easily turned on and off. My only complaint is that the light tends to slide down to a certain point when you raise it all the way up. Not a big deal, but something to note.

The filter has kept the water nice and clear so far. It's easily attached anywhere on the tank via two suction cups on the back end. The top lid of the tank has two small holes on either side for the hose, as well as a large hole for easy grabbing. The two holes are great if you'd like to add a small water heater along with your filter. The Whisper 3i does create a fairly noticeable current in a tank this small, something my Betta did not enjoy at first as they prefer still water. After some adjustment of the plants in the tank and raising it a little higher above water level, the current was reduced enough to not really bother him. I've also placed a small hut in the tank where he can hide and get out of the current if he chooses to do so (which I recommend). I would also recommend placing the plants near or around the filter intake, so your fish won't be tempted to swim around it and get pulled by the pump. A Betta is far to large to get stuck, but it can damage his fins if he's pulled to hard.

The plastic plants are very nice looking, but were somewhat on the hard side. I would keep an eye and make sure your fish doesn't injure his fins grazing against them. So far, mine hasn't had any issues, but it's something to take note of, especially for Bettas.

Overall, for the money you won't find a better tank for a small fish or Betta.

UPDATE: 8/10/2010

After about 4 months of owning this tank, the filter pump finally gave out. It's a shame, because it did work very well. While not a big deal if your housing a Betta, this may become problem for other types of fish that aren't labyrinth fish. Tetra does warranty the filter for 1 year after purchase, but you have to send $5.00 for return postage. The whole filter unit can be purchased for $9.95 new at PetSmart, so it really seems kinda pointless, especially if it will continue to crap out after a few months.

This tank is perfect for keeping a betta fish. It's roomy enough to decorate nicely so your fish is comfortable and has stuff to do. I was hesitant, as I've only had larger tanks before and worried that this would be too small, but it's just right for my betta fish.

I was worried that the filter might be too strong, based on some reviews here, but my betta has done absolutely fine with the filter on, and the filter does an amazing job at keeping the water clear. I'm able to do a full water change once a month, and the water is STILL crystal clear within that time frame. (But I wouldn't recommend going over a month without giving it a full cleaning, because the gravel traps old food and bacteria. Just an fyi for someone considering this as their first fish tank.)

I really love the LED light at the top of the tank, it looks beautiful at night. The storage space at the bottom is handy as well. I keep extra filter packs, de-chlorinator, and some emergency fish meds in there, just in case.

I'd definitely recommend this to someone looking into getting a betta fish. Many people want these intelligent fish as decorations, which I discourage because they tend to keep the poor things in tiny half gallon bowls. This tank is the right size for a betta to live happily and is visually stunning for the owner as well. It's a win/win!

I bought this locally, and right out of the box, it didn't have the plant grid for the plants that it comes with. Which of course makes the plants all float up the second you try to do anything inside the tank. The filter however is awesome, it has adjustable flow, which is wonderful for a betta or any other fish that prefers little water movement. Keeps my water totally free of ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites. Condensation on the hood is a CONSTANT eye sore. While the setup has it's downfalls, it's still better by far than any other desktop with the dreaded lone undergravel filter and no lighting, often devoid of a hood altogether. I like that it has a cord cutout for if you want to add a heater or an airstone. The built in drawer is also very handy, but I don't recommend keeping water test strips in it, due to the humidity affecting them. It's good for stashing food and dechlorinator though.

I had always wanted a small, but attractive, aquarium for my desk. I came across this one on Amazon and thought, this is it! It works great with African Dwarf Frogs, I bought two and there is plenty of room for them and their plants. The initial investment ran me about $40 total which included food, a small net, the plant, rocks, water conditioner, etc. I did find mine at Petsmart, but there are more colors/sizes and a lot of sale prices through Amazon that were comparable. I loved the light because its made of LEDs and does not get hot. I'm rather paranoid about hot light bulbs and plastic.

Want Tetra Water Wonders Aquarium Kit Discount?

I've had this aquarium for about a week and a half, and my betta seems to like it. He builds bubble nests and is very active. I never knew bettas to zip around a tank, which goes to show how much better off they are with some space than in the little prison cells that are among the betta homes pet stores sell. I am only using this 1.5 gallon aquarium because of space limitations, and would recommend a larger one if you have space so your fish will be happier. So far the filter is keeping the water clear, and makes a soft current, which is good since bettas are bothered by strong currents. Time will tell how the filter lasts. I'm hoping it lasts for a while since it seems hard to find filters with a soft enough current to suit bettas (I heard the Azoo Mignon is a good one). The lid has an opening for the top of the filter, and smaller openings on either side, so a micro-heater and cord can be easily accomodated while the lid still fits well. Condensation does build up on the lid, but there seems to be less of it now than there was the first few days. The light can be adjusted up and down, and the LED is nice and bright, making the aquarium pleasing to look at. There is an on/off switch for the light, but the light's power is controlled by the same plug as the filter. So if you want to turn off the filter, you have to un-plug it which turns off the light as well. Therefore if you want to feed your fish and not have the food get carried around by the filter current, he has to eat in the dark. Overall this is an excellent small aquarium for the money. I'm looking at the Aqueon Evolve 2 Gallon for my other betta, which has a wall that conceals the filter, and any heater and cords, and of course gives the fish a little more space. That one may be a good option too if you're willing to spend $47 or so.

UPDATE 6/20/12 A few days ago the filter stopped working. I removed it, rinsed it out and replaced the cartridge, and it started working again. It is very slow though. I'm just a novice with aquariums, but I'm wondering if this filter is effective because of how weak it is. If it breaks down, I'll just have to continue changing 2/3 of the water each week to keep it clean. I hope to someday find a filter that has a gentle enough current for bettas. The Azoo filter I previously mentioned is on back-order with Amazon. Because of the filter issue I'm reducing my rating to 4 stars.

UPDATE 7/9/12 Well the filter is failing...If I take out the cartridge and just put it back in, it seems to start up again, but this has to be done at least twice a day. The filter is junk...which is a shame because the aquarium is nicely built with great cutouts in the lid and good LED. But if you want a kit with a decent filter, don't buy this one, unless you're ok replacing the filter or just changing the water every week and not using one. Might as well spend the extra money for a better setup and more space for your fish.

Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Syphon Siphon Vacuum Fish Tank

Aquarium Gravel Cleaner Syphon Siphon Vacuum Fish TankI bought this because I wanted to clean my little 10 gallon aquarium. I've used it twice now, and while it added water very well, I did not find it at all satisfactory in siphoning out to clean the gravel. And by the way, I am an experienced aquarium owner. Since the main thing I wanted it for was cleaning, it was a disappointment to me. Hence, 2 stars.

Unfortunately, no one, not even Amazon, sells the protein skimmer pump. (they have protein skimmer pumps, just not the one that goes in the Rapids pro. Gulfstream Tropical AGU00035A Mag-Float Acrylic Aquarium Cleaner, Small

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00035A Mag-Float Acrylic Aquarium Cleaner, SmallAt 2.25" x 1.25", this magnet is perfect for small tanks. I use it in my 5 gal freshwater acrylic tank, and it does a good job of scrubbing the algae off without leaving any scratches behind.

You can leave these on/in the tank all the time, but I have 2 inquisitive little kids who like to play with magnets, so in between cleanings, I take the magnets off and store them on a shelf. These magnets are VERY strong, which is great because you can vigorously scrub with them and they won't lose contact with each other -and if they do, they float, so there's no need to reach down into the tank to retrieve the fallen piece! -but if you put them together outside of the tank, they will want to snap together ferociously, and woe is you if your finger pads happen to be in the way. So keep them away from kids!

Bottom line: If you need to get a magnetic cleaner for your fish tank, the Mag Float is the way to go because the magnets are strong, well-made, they float, and come in a nice compact size. I expect that I will not need to replace mine for as long as I have my tank, which makes it well worth the price.

I made sure that I ordered the acrylic one. I used it once, and it put really fine surface scratches in my Aqueon Mini-Bow acrylic tank.

The magnet function works well. If I had a glass tank, I'd recommend the glass version. But I don't think this is a good algae brush for an acrylic tank.

Product seems good in theory. When I used it for a small portion of my tank to test it out, it did clean the area, but left lots of scratches on it. Can't use it. Now I have a $10 paper weight.

I use my Mag Float 30 (small) for my 28-gallon acrylic hexagon reef aquarium. Acrylic hexagons are probably some of the hardest types of aquariums to clean especially if you try to use any of the long-handle, plastic scrubbers due to limited, top-clearance access. I still use my plastic-handle scrubber periodically, but the Mag Float helps me reach the areas that I cannot reach. I really like how the Mag float magnet floats to the top when separtated. Like the other reviewer stated, I cannot scrub the curved edges with the Mag Float. Despite what other reviewers have stated I have not encountered any scratches on my acrylic aquarium due to the use of the Mag Float. Works fine with me!

I was skeptical and almost just bought an algae brush. I was surprised to find that this works great. The magnet is powerful enough that you can slip it around a corner on your tank and the inside half with disconnect and then float over to the next side of the take and reconnect.

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Seaflor Fiji Pink Reef Sand 40Lb

Fish & Aquatic Supplies Seaflor Fiji Pink Reef Sand 40LbI think the picture is deceiving as the pink in this picture gives the illusion that the sand has a pink hue to it. It does not, in fact on my first review I thought it was just argonite. There are purplish pink shell fragments mixed within. They are so miniscule I had to hold the argonite directly under my reef lights to see it. The price and product were great I just think a more honest representation of the product is warrented.

Kent Marine 00896 ZooMax, 1-Ounce Bottle

Kent Marine 00896 ZooMax, 1-Ounce BottleThis food solution is awesome. Animals in my tank are thriving... feather dusters always come out as soon as a few drops hit the water. Very concentrated and eye dropper makes feeding very easy. Love that it comes with a plastic container to but the bottle in.... keeps the smell locked inside. The 1-ounce bottle does last for a while.

So do the fish as they try eating the larger pieces! The starfish come out too so it does seem to be well liked by my tank buddies! 4stars is only cuz it's kind of expensive for a small bottle but does last a bit as u only use drops at a time! CaribSea Purple Up Algae Accelerator, 16-Ounce

CaribSea Purple Up Algae Accelerator, 16-OunceI think this stuff works. I am sure it would. However...keeping your levels in check will have the same result. From a fresh setup it'll take a tank about 6 months to start producing coralline and from there it can be quite prolific. Mine produces its own. I have used purple up but never seen any so called acceleration. My friend has a tank set up for about 3 years, never used an accelerator and he can't scrape the coralline off the glass fast enough. He runs his calcium level 460-500 ppm. Mine is more 420-440 ppm. Personally I wouldn't bother using it..it's just another consumable taking your money.

I have a reef tank, but i'm just not sure if this product works. It does increase the calcium levels in the tank simply because it is a solution of pulverized argonite or other calcium compound. I had great success with a part a&b solution. My father uses it and likes it but it does leave the argonite residue on everything, and it has harden in the sump so when it is disturbed, white flakes shoot out the return.

Buy CaribSea Purple Up Algae Accelerator, 16-Ounce Now

After a couple of weeks of use, what appeared as purple algae ie corraline, turned out to cyano even though my phosphates are 0.03. Worse yet, my yellow tang started acting funny and I haven't seen it for 3 weeks, so I assume it died. I've stopped using it and cyano algae has halted its progress. My other fish are fine and some corals are improving. Won't ever use again and have learned to be patient...corraline takes time to grow. By the way, my pH is 8.2, nitrates =1-2, nitrites and ammonia =0, calcium 430, alk 175 ppm, magnesium = 1300.

Fluval Pre-Filter Media - 750 grams/26.45 ounces

Fluval Pre-Filter Media - 750 grams/26.45 ouncesI've had my tank up and running for a month prior to buying the prefilter media, bio media, and filter floss. Before I installed these, my water was fairly clear, just a little cloudy, but nothing that I would have worried about. However, after I put this in, my water was crystal clear. I've never had a tank with water so clear. It's quite amazing. I have a fluval FX5 filter with the prefilter media and a bag of carbon on the top rack, 2nd shelf has 2 boxes of fluval bio media, and 3rd shelf has the filter floss with 2 boxes of biomedia. That's what it took to fill my filter. I found it was cheapest at the time on amazon. I have a 125g tank with a walleye and a couple dozen feeder fish (so a fairly messy bunch of fish). I highly recommend this stuff. Works great (been using this for 3-4 months).

These work great, definitely needed as part of a filtration system. They last [seemingly] forever, so you really don't need to stock up on spares.

Buy Fluval Pre-Filter Media - 750 grams/26.45 ounces Now

I bought this for my Fluval Edge and although it is basically loose in the box I managed to figure out a way that works for me and my tank.

After rinsing it very well, before replacing the old biomax, I cut some white replacement filter foam that is way thinner than the original Fluval filter foams and fold it in there so its not loose in my grey plastic filter holder.

I can't put too much because there is limited space in the holder for everything the tank needs but I get enough in there that works out well.

I would recommend and buy it again.

I use it to feed my community tank freeze-dried tubifex worms. I basically have the cone inverted at the bottom of the tank since freeze-dried tubifex floats. So the worms stay at the apex of the cone, where all the fishes pick on the worms until they're all gone. I rated it 4 stars because the cone is not attached to the ring I had to superglue it on.

Want Lees 4 way Cone Worm Feeder Discount?

This is definitely worth getting for your aquarium, I use much less worms per feeding session and there is much less waste vs dropping the worms directly into the tank and giving the fish a time limit to eat before they hit the bottom. I enjoy watching the fish swim up to the worm cone and ripping a fish right out of there too.

Design Elements Broken Pipeline Tunnel Aquarium Ornament

Design Elements Broken Pipeline Tunnel Aquarium Ornament Size: 11.5' HThe product looks great in my aquarium, and while the dimensions here are correct, it seemed larger than I expected.

It is fragile (don't drop it like I did) and there are some sharp edges inside. If you have soft-skinned residents in your aquarium, take care.

The danger of buying online is you often don't get a full description. I looked at other sites to try to get a better grasp of its interior design. Now, normally I wouldn't downgrade a review just because it does not work for us, but the design was not only not what I expected but I feel not a great design. It is completely open inside. I had the impression it would be at least two chambers. I wanted to partially bury it so my pleco could use the lower portion and one of the cichlids the upper portion. We are going to keep it for our next tank as again, I do like it otherwise. We have a tank of 5 cichlids and one pleco. He is doing great but I want him to have his own spot the others can't access...we bought a low-profile sea cave but even that took some creative positioning to keep the cichlids out. Really, they should make anti-cichlid hideouts just for plecos!

Tetra AquaSafe Water Conditioner with BioExtract

Tetra 8.45-Ounce AquaSafe Water Conditioner with BioExtract7 drops in an average little fish bowl with normal water and I have had a Beta for over two years now using nothing but this! Every couple of weeks, I rinse the bowl, replace water, put the drops in, done deal. Good stuff. Keeps your fish healthy. The end.

So, I used this initially when I first got an aquarium because someone else told me they used it. At first all was fine, it does what it needs to do by getting rid of the ammonia/chlorine from tap water.

Here's the thing, these water conditioners that have "slime coat" crap in them, the way they work is by BURNING the fish, the irritation induces them to produce their slime coat. I wasn't aware of this, but when I was using it, I noticed that some of my fish would always flash swim rapidly up and down the glass I didn't know if it was them being "excited" to have a water change, no, they were just in pain/stressed.

Anyway, after coming to the end of my bottle in like 1 month's time, I ordered Seachem Safe (powder version of Prime). My fish no longer flash, and it works better, way more cost efficient. Save your money, buy Safe or Prime, both are way better.

Whenever you add new tap water to your aquarium the chemistry of the water changes, these changes can be very harmful to the fish depending on how drastic they are. So it's recommended you do a 10-20% water change every week to your aquarium to help reduce chemicals like ammonia and dilute the nitrites etc. But the tap water also carries harmful chlorine and chloramine.

Tetra AquaSafe removes both and enhances the stress coat produced by your fish, thus making it perfect to condition your aquarium. I've had no problems whatsoever with it, and it has greatly improved the overall health of my fish.

I personally don't use it with every water change (although its recommended that you do) but that's usually based on the amt being added and the condition of my tap water.

Use 5ml to treat 10gal

The first, and only water conditioner I have ever used for my betta. Spike is now 3yrs old, and continues to thrive. I attribute that in part to AquaSafe water conditioner.

Previous reviews were helpful. I use it everytime I change the water. The water stays clean for about two weeks easily. It says aquarium for fish but I have been using it for my turtle aquarium and it has worked out fine. The filmy residue does appear but just make sure not to use in excess and it should not be an issue. Also, if you are using this for turtles, frequent baths also help to remove the film from the shell.

U.P. Aqua Cichlid Stone (medium)

U.P. Aqua Cichlid StoneI bought the small and medium size for my 15 gallon column cichlid tank. I rinsed them and put them in and the fish love them.

I think this is a very nice Cichlid stone although from the picture, it appeared there was only one hole in the stone. The one I received has a hole in both the back and front and although the Cichlids seem to enjoy it, it does not offer the smaller Cichlids the protection they would like as another Cichlid can chase them out of the stone from the other end. I would have liked to have known the stone had two holes. I would also like to know the actual size of the stone because I felt this stone was on the smaller size yet it was labeled medium in the advertisement. The larger Cichlids that are in the tank are not able to get into the stone.

My Apisto. female loooves it. She's taken residence I wish it were a little darker in color. As algae grows, it has gotten a bit easier to hide in the aquascape.
