I just received this light for my tank on Friday. Very disappointed in the quality of the light fixture. The bulb connections are very poor and I had difficulty getting the lights to light. After much twisting of the bulbs in and out I finally got all four bulbs to light but not without sparks on one of the connection and then the unit starting to smoke and make crackling noises. As soon as I placed it on my tank the white bulbs went out again. After tinkering with them they came back on. Then the atinic bulbs went out. I decided that this light is a fire hazard and went back to my old light. I will be returning this light to the Seller. In addition, you have a separate plug for the fan on this light which I think is dumb. The fan should come on automatically with the light and go on a off with the heat of the light. Yes, this light was cheap but I once again, I got what I paid for. A piece of junk. I just wish there was a review from Amazon on this light so I would have known. So I am putting one on now for future buyers.

ok so i set up this light today and i thought it was good at fist until i got my hands wet. i dipped my hand in the tank the took them out and wiped them with a paper towel so the were just a little wet but not dripping or anything then i touched the top of the light and got a really bad electric shock. it really was bad because if im am also ever leaning over the lght or anything and its not wet if it hits a sensitive nerve like in the elbow or finger tip it hurts to much to even touch it. its like a fear not. its worse then getting shocked by a wall outlet because it just stings the whole body. also the fan is very loud and never goes off and its on a separate plug so it has to be on a timer. other then that it works.

If you need something quiet, look elsewhere, the fan in this thing is pretty loud. Other than that, I had great PAR values coming from this light with ATI and Geissman bulbs in it. Grew out all types of corals, but probably not as fast as they could have.

Absorbtion Corp Arm and Hammer Natural Pet Bedding, 60-Liter

This is the best of the paper litter products we have used for our rabbit. It absorbs odor far better than carefresh, and is less expensive. We flush this, and though it does occasionally cause us to pull out the plunger, it happens less likely than with the other brand. I was very happy to find it here in a large size bag on Amazon, as we can only buy it in town at Safeway, in teeny packages that our fat rabbit goes through in about a week.

I use this bedding for my 7 guinea pigs (to put in their litter box). It's very absorbent and leaves no mess whatsoever, unlike some other beddings! My guinea pigs are able to use it for their business without throwing it all over the place like they did with the Kaytee bedding. It's also great that it's 60 liters because they go through bedding VERY quickly, but this one so far has been lasting a bit longer than the kiln-dried pine bedding I used to use. A great buy!

I purchased this LED bubble ring for my 20 gallon tank. I have had no problem with it floating as I buried the first 1-2 inches of the cord and air line tubing in the substrate. And I do mean bury, not just cover them. I have nothing on top to hold it down just a few pebbles that get pushed around by the gravel vac and my oranda. The lighting is brillient and the bubbles it produces, in my opinion, are small to medium in size, not fine like that of an airstone or bubble wand. I have large apple snails that move across the unit itself as well as on the cord and tubing, and it stays inplace. During the day with my tank's LED lights on, I can see the colors from the bubble ring although I don't normally keep it on during the day just at night...it's quite captivating!

After reading reviews and searching online , I had finly broke down and bought two of these Led Bubble Rings . And I must say I don't regret it for a moment . Now I have found they can float if not weighted properly . So don't use just small gravel , mix it up a bit for more depth , small ,med and large rock up to two inch . It will look great . And you may want to add a valve on your air line so your not over doing it with the pressure . I do like this model better than the tetra Led lite because you can get smaller gravel inside the grooves in the ring and it has better outside tabs so you can get your rocks and gravel up close and the power cord is a little longer with an on and off switch . This does make it alot easyier to cut the power when time for bed . One last thing , you don't need to buy the crystal center piece it looks great without it , just my opinion of course . This was a great idea, just didnt work. First off it doesn't come with the plant or "crystal" decoration, and I have tried multiple ways to keep this thing on the bottom of my aquarium it just floats to the top...Needs more weight or suction cups or something... for the money I'd get something else.

I really like this bubbler. It really gives a cool look to my aquarium. The only few things I would mention, though seemingly minor, would be that if you don't watch for it, algae can build up around the lights. Also it seems kinda hard to get it to sink. It needs weights or something on it, because it wants to just float to the top. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

HOW IN GOD'S NAME DO YOU PUT THE AMMONIA REMOVING MEDIA / CHARCOAL SUBSTRATE IN THIS GODFORSAKEN THING?

Seriously though. The way the inner inlet tube projects relative to the rod that turns and locks it closed makes it impossible to keep one end open to put the substrate in without pushing the plastic mesh out of the guides that hold it in place? I am tempted just to cut a little 'door' in the plastic mesh and then just zip tie it closed after I fill it up.

Surely I am doing something wrong. The Magnum 350 canister filter didn't have any instructions with it (bought used) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Received a used magnum 350 with one of my tanks but the media container was in rough shape and missing the black lid so I decided to replace it with this. Package arrived on time (2-day shipping) and in perfect condition. The mesh housing was free from any dents and even included the strainer in the center which I wasn't expecting. I would definitely suggest filling with bio media rather than carbon though unless you are trying to clear up dirty water from meds/tannins. If you use biomax it fits about 250g

For the money this is a good little air pump. Although I do have to say that after around the 4 month mark like everyone else giving a review here it got very noisy.

Don't worry there is a fix! Unscrew the 4 Philips head screws under the unit and separate the bottom and the top. You will find a stack of "L" shaped magnets. Move the stack a bit to the right and tighten the nut that holds the "L" shaped magnets in place. Put it back together and ta-da no more noise! The Problem is that the little arm that holds the square shaped magnet is hitting the "L" shaped magnets with every pump. All you have to do is give it some space so it doesn't hit the other stack of magnets. The nut might not have be tight enough when they built it or it rattled loose during normal use allowing the stack of magnets to slip a bit.

All in all this is a pretty good pump. Just wish Tetra would pay closer attention to the little things.

I bought one of these for my 29 gallon tank to use with a bubble wand. It was easy to set up and worked fine for two days. On the third day, when I came home from work, the first thing I heard when I walked in the front door was a loud buzzing sound. I followed the buzz to find out that it was the air pump. It wasn't the pump itself vibrating against the shelf it was on, but the motor of the pump. My aquarium is towards the back of the house, so for me to hear it as soon as I walked in tells you it was pretty loud. On top of that, there was only a small amount of air coming out of the bubble wand. I figured I'd just gotten a defective one, so I returned it and got a replacement. It worked great for about a month and a half until it woke me up this morning making the same exact loud buzz that the first one did. Low airflow to the bubble wand as well. Unfortunately, it broke after the store's return period expired, so now I can either deal with the manufacturer (which is always fun) or just count my losses and move on.

Would not recommend to others.

1 week of tank use: Firstthis is NOT 3 gallons, it's 2. The box says 3 gallons, but it's not.

Additional Equiptment Needed: Replacement filter cartridges are $10 for a 3 pack sold on Amazon TOM TM1277 Aquarium Filter Cartridge 3 pack fits Rapids Power Filter PF-80. The manual suggests you replace them every 2-4 weeks depending on fish population and it only comes with one. So you should order extra along with a heater. I purchased the Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini, 25-Watt for appx $15 from Amazon. Fits well with the lid cutouts, it has adjustable temperature and seems to maintain a stable temp. I bought a $3 thermometer at local pet store to gauge this.

The instructions are not great, especially as this is my 1st tank. The filter came with seperate instructions from the tank and they conflict with eachother. Once I set them aside and used common sense, it was fairly simple.

Be prepared for the massive and unsightly plugs. I placed the tank on the kitchen counter and stuffed all the chords and plugs behind the fridge using a power strip. Have a good place in mind to put this where you can hide all that unless that sort of thing doesnt bother you.

Also, I agree with another reviewer about the filter just awkwardly hanging at a tilt off the tank, as if it doesnt belong there. The lid cutouts give you the option to the hang it on the back or the side. I hung it on the back and you cannot tell.

Having said all that, let me say that it is a beautiful little tank! This was an upgrade for my betta, I foolishly had him in a 2 gallon bowl prior with no heater and he was not doing so well. He is much more active and interactive. So I do have some gripes, but for the price this really is a great set up.

The lid keeps the cat out of the water. It is truly lovely and a pleasure to sit & watch. I have been planning for a 150 gal saltwater tank in the next 2-3 years and this is a fun way to get started in the hobby for very little money.

I ordered this tank for my Betta fish after reading up on what type of conditions Betta fish need to thrive. It's very beautiful and easy to set up and clean. It does not come with a heater, however, so I had to order that extra. Betta's prefer water that's in the 75-80 degree range, so a heater and a thermometer are necessities! The light is gorgeous and really sets off the room.

This is a great little fish tank for my male Betta. Along with it I purchased a heater, a thermometer, and a green leaf hammock. Then I went to Petco and spent sixty more dollars on gravel, a live plant, silk plants, water conditioner, and various other things to make Chollie comfortable and his new home attractive. He is one happy aquatic camper!

Don't believe anyone who tells you Bettas are content in a very small container. How would you like to spend your life in a plastic or glass closet? The bigger the tank, the better for the Betta. And yes, they do require a water filter and heater.

I have it set up beside my computer and the great lighting on the top of the tank is enough to light my keyboard in the evening. The filter is noiseless and unobtrusive placed in the back of the tank.

Highly recommend (and so does Chollie)!

I purchased this aquarium mainly for the "appearance" it does look really neat.

Pros:

Easy to set up

Effective filter keeps tank very clean

Appearance it looks very nice and has a bright light.

Cons:

The plastic lid has perforated cut outs for allowing space for the filter and light. The pieces are EXTREMELY difficult to break apart and the lid cracked in the process. I followed up with company regarding this fact and have received no response.

The filter motor does have an audible hum and slight vibration. The "Eclipse" system I had made no noise at all.

The gravel is OK. If you want gravel that is on the darker side....DO NOT BUY THIS GRAVEL! The gravel I received was crushed and whole shell. There were no natural dark rocks to be found. When you look at the picture there are reds, blacks, grays, browns, and different shades of white shells. My 80 lbs of gravel was all white. I would have returned my purchase....but the postage to return would have been too expensive. Otherwise the gravel hasn't killed anything. All of my fish seem to be happy.

Carib Sea was the early Christmas present for my 55 gal. and 40 gal. African Cichlid Tanks. Glad I bought it through Amazon as the advertised price was 30%+ less than any pet store locally. It adds up when I had to use 7 20 lb. bags total! The vendor that I purchased it through only charged me a FLAT FEE of $5.99 for shipping/handling. That is a steal, considering total shipping weight was 140 lbs!

Now about the product...Excellent choice as it came packaged in a live bacteria solution, making for cycling the tanks much easier and shorter. Hint if you ever have to change out substrate, it would be best to NOT rinse any of your rocks, plants, etc. They have essential live bacteria, which helps re-establish and re-cycle your tank. I was able to put all of my fish back in within a few days after set up, without any Nitrite/Ammonia spikes. I also recommend turning up your heater to 83-84 degrees F, which helps to speed up colonization of essential bacteria. It is actually safer to keep African Cichlids in this temp, as it also helps to prevent diseases. They are a hearty enough fish to adapt.

Not only does the new substrate aid in maintaining higher Ph (contains aragonite), necessary for African Cichlids, but it also looks a lot more natural, too. If I ever have to set up a new tank, or change out substrate, I will definitely repeat through Amazon and hope to get it through the same vendor, too. Big savings, great quality, and easy to use!

EHEIM Professional 3e 2076 External Electronic Canister Filter for up to 105 US Gallons

Installed the filter, it primed easily and did not leak out of the box. However you are going to need to buy some Efimech and EHEIM Substrat Pro Biological Filter Media (Sintered Pearl-Shaped Glass) 2L from eheim as their not included. The 2076 requires 2 liters of Ehfimech and 4 liters of Ehfisubstrat Pro. Make sure you buy them or have some sort of biological media for bacteria! I previously bought a hagen/fluval G6 and i installed it and it kept having an air leak or something wouldn't prime-called tech support didn't help told me to shorten the lines so there were no flex in it which i did and it was a direct line straight up and to no avail it was still blowing air and locking up. Sent that back to Amazon for refund. Love eheims, had a pro2 before and it started leaking so hopefully this one lasts a long time.

Omg most horrible filter, leaking straight out of the box, made a mess of my house. Expensive but horrible product.

I bought this filter based on many reviews saying that if you can afford it, Eheim is the best and the quietest. Well, I shelled out the big bucks and got the Professional 3. Well, it is pretty quiet and that's probably why I have this first complaint about this filter. First, I was disappointed in the flow rate. Second, the primer does not easily start up the filter. Finally, I've had it for less than a year, and after cleaning it and restarting it by using the primer pump, the primer pump broke this week. I can't believe how cheaply made it was. I contacted the company which says "3 Year Guarantee" on their website. It's been two weeks and I've contacted them twice and I have not heard a single peep from them. I will never buy Eheim again. I'm going with Fluval next.

This filter is a rat terrier compared to the great Diane the fluval. The fluval is so much better and will always be this doesn't even have carbon. Stupid filter cheaply made.

The title says it all. I was excited to get the unit, but that excitement quickly turned to frustration, then disgust. I sent the product back to the dealer after talking to the dealer and manufacturer for over 2 weeks attempting to get a resolution. The dealer and manufacturer were helpful and I have no problem with them; it's the product I have a problem with.

I then purchased a Eheim 2078 Pro 3e. That unit leaked in the same fashion so it went back also. I decided on a Fluval FX5 and have been very happy with that purchase.

Two Little Fishes NPX Bioplastics Reactor 550 w/ Media 400ml

Good reactor and the Bioplastic pellets are starting to do their job after about 4 weeks of being put into use. (this is about the normal they say before the bacteria really gets going on them)

The only complaint I have is that they do not give you enough plumbing parts and clamps to hook it up properly. I was short a couple of clamps and had leaking problems initially. Thinking I could just use some coral glue (expensive super glue) to seal it, I found that trying that was not a good idea as the glue melted the soft connecting pieces. Two Little Fishes sells a expansion pack for their reactors, I bought one for about 4 dollars and was fine after that but it seems silly to me for them to skimp so much in the base package.

So I was surprised with the quick delivery to my house, but pretty much everything failed. I opened it and pinched the hose to see how tough the plastic was, it wasn't tough at all, and 2 minutes later when I try to use the thing to clean my tank I get a leak in the hose right where I had pinched it. The pump, well, it works, if you hold it so the open end is up when you squeeze, the plastic piece that allows suction to be possible is extremely cheap and I wouldn't expect it to last long. Also there is nothing written in english on the directions. This thing could be usable if you don't plan on messing with the actual hose, but its such cheap plastic don't be surprised if it gets a leak, a slight pinch of the hose was enough to make the plastic crease. I was really trying to show the previous reviewers up by making this thing work flawlessly, needless to say that didn't happen. Not worth 5 bucks folks.

Its good for a quick water change but it has zero suction as a vacuume and once your down to the last 5 inches of water in the bottom of the tank it doesn't work at all. But when we do our 25% water change every week it's a good tool.

The description says "Provides both inside and outside aquarium temperature readings"

This description is wrong or poorly worded. The device only provides 1 temperature! I'm guessing what it means is it can be used for either inside or outside your aquarium. This is still a great product however, just don't expect to have both temperature reading for your room and inside your aquarium.

I've owned this for a couple months so far and it appears to work well up till this point. I have a temp gun which I used to check the reading this was telling me. They matched up well. Between the price and how accurate it is thus far it is worth it. I use it to read the temperature between egg flats, so the temp gun won't work for that application.

This magnet works. Unlike scrub sponges, your arm stays dry. The surface of the magnet that goes inside the aquarium is rough enough to actually take the algae off the glass. Unlike another brand of algae magnet that I've used, it floats, so you don't have to tie a string to it. If you haven't used magnets before, keep in mind that there will be places in your aquarium that a magnet may not be able to reach or you may have to move things around to get there (i.e. around the filter and heater). If your aquarium's close to the wall, getting to the back of the aqarium gets tricky too. A yardstick helps. Whatever you do, please don't buy this product for an acrylic aquarium. It's meant only for glass like it says in the title. The manufacturer makes one for acrylic. I can't review that one since I've never had acrylic, but make sure you're getting the right kind for your tank.

I wreaked my 55 with these magnets becuse i didnt notice tiny iron particals that must have came from the sand got stuck to the mag. at first they worked great from me i plan to buy a new one just giving anyone new to this product the heads up to keep an eye on the magnets make sure their clean!

I've used this for over a year and here are my thoughts.

Pros:

Works great on GLASS aquariums.

Cleans the algae on the glass great, just make sure you use the rough side to do the scraping.

Cleans without you having to get your hand down in the water.

Easy to take the Mag Float around corners

Cons:

Hard to clean at the corners and seams of the glass.

Be careful if you have sand in your tank as it can scratch the glass if sand particles get trapped in the Mag Float as you drag it around.

Tips:

When you are cleaning corners I find it easier to put the Mag Float vertical and drag it up and down rather than horizontally. You'll get more coverage that way.

When you are finished cleaning, take the Mag Float to the top and pull away your end of it so the Mag Float floats up to the surface nearest where you just released it. Then just use your fingers and grab it out of the water. If you take your end and grab it with the magnet then you'll likely splash yourself and your surroundings.

Overall I give this 4.5 stars. Hard to clean the corners but it is what it is and great maintenance between full-blown tank cleanings.

There have been a lot of reviews about how it scratches your glass if sand gets in it, but the product has warnings. The size is 1" X 2", really unexpected but it's good. It says on the back of pack:

Clean outside aquarium surface thoroughly before each use.

Remove all debris from Mag-Float prior to each use.

Do not use Mag-Float above waterline or on dry surface.

Keep Mag-Float away from the gravel line and glass aquarium sealant.

The magnet part with logo Mag-Float is placed on the outside aquarium surface.

Mag-Float can be left attached to aquarium surface.

Mag-Float can be used on fresh/saltwater aquariums.

Keep Mag-Float away from electronic devices such as computers, pace makers, etc.

Manufacturer/Distributor assumes no liability for any damages to your aquarium due to improper use of product.

All other reviews that complain have simply been a result of misuse. This is a great product. I recommend it, but please pay attention to the size of this one, 1" X 2"

This magnet is better suited for glass aquariums that get a lot of algae on the surface of the glass. For day-to-day or average use, the magnet bristles are too harsh and will gladly host any particles floating in the water that will scratch your glass. So be careful, they way to use it is to rinse both surfaces of the cleaner (outside and inside) to make sure there aren't any particles stuck. Then, as you are doing a water change, use a sponge to wipe the inside of the aquarium making sure you eliminate any particles or sand stuck to the glass. Then use the magnet (make sure you pair it only once). If you follow this process you will reduce the chances that you will scratch the glass. I am giving it two stars because for me all these steps are an inconvenience.

I was really excited about finding this wall-mounted fish bowl, and when it arrived I was delighted. I got it set up (it was very easy to hang), added my beta and thought it looked fabulous. It seemed sturdily made, and truly was an attention-grabber and a conversations starter. However, after a short while I found myself looking at my beta, who hardly had room to turn around, and feeling pretty guilty about keeping a living creature in such a tiny world simply because I thought it was pretty to look (and contrary to popular belief, betas do not "like" living in cups because it mimics their natural habitat. This is a lie to get people to buy betas in cups). After a few weeks I broke down and bought a small aquarium. The beta is MUCH happier and frankly I am as well, because it addition to assuaging my guilt I find the beta much more interesting to watch now that he has room to spread his fins a bit. I now have aquatic plants in the wall-mounted bowl, and can enjoy its beauty in a guilt-free fashion. It's much better.

I didn't buy these on amazon but I did but 2 of them at a pet store. I gave this product 5 stars because you don't have to use them for its intended purpose. As soon as I saw these an idea popped into my head. While I would never put a fish in here ever I bought some river rocks, and tea light candles. I covered the bottom with the river rocks filled the "tank" half ways with water and put in the tea light. It looks so beautiful and brings a smile to my face when ever I walk by them. Sometimes I take out the candles and put in a fake flower, or put rose petals in them. So many possibilities with this product but should never be used for fish.

everything i've looked up about Betta fish care is quite conflicting. my pet store i favor doesn't carry any books on them, and offers bowls/tanks that are smaller than this wall mount option. however i'm not a fan of thinking i'm constricting or torturing my poor fish so i tell myself that if he's never known anything other than the small plastic container he was in when i picked him off the shelf then he should be ecstatic about his wall mount. and i'm certainly no fish expert but he seems happy enough -we've had this tank for 3 weeks and when i come close he's interactive and seems to swim to meet me and will follow my finger, etc. i watch him check out, er, fight his reflection every day when the lighting is just right to create a mirror effect on the wall. i see him chilling and flitting in/out of his pretty silk plant. he's no mope.

my tank did not come w/ a nail, nor any rocks or plants. i used a 50-lb drywall anchor screw and head of the screw is small enough that i'm able to remove the tank as needed. i clean the tank every sunday. i'm waiting for the price to drop so i can pick up a few more -one for another fish and extras to make the cleaning more streamlined.

i have no complaints about the plastic itself, seems thick and sturdy enough, not flimsy or brittle.

i love this option as i don't have any sort of counter or shelf space for a tank and it keeps the cat's paws and tiny child hands out of it as well.

anyway i give it 4 stars b/c i didn't get any goodies like others claim. and also b/c there clearly needs to be a 2+ gallon option to stop all the controversy. (if i can mount a 70 pound tv on my wall i think we can figure out how to do a slightly bigger fish bowl.)

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter last week thinking it would be easy for her to take care of. I quickly realized the Betta was not active and felt there wasn't enough space to swim around. I kept him in there for one week and today purchased a 3 gallon tank with filter for the same price. I cannot believe the difference in the Betta! He is very active and is very happy now! It is even more fun for my daughter because you can put other aquarium decorations which he loves to swim in and out of! This bowl is not capable of maintaing a proper ecosystem for any fish. A 3 gallon tank is just as aesthetically pleasing and takes little room.
