SLight tugging from a 30 pound dog means a very short toy life.

I bought this to play fetch with my dogs in the water....not sure how they are suppose to see this better than another other floater toy as the blue is the same color as the water...

I was a little nervous purchasing this item. Once I received it tho, I was very happy with my purchase. It is very sturdy and the plastic is very strong. The lights aren't blinding, but the perfect level for the room and my fish. I also like that it has a push switch on the back to turn it on and off instead of one of those you have to twist.

The hood fits fine on the tank itself, using a standard filter. I had to C-U-T the rear section of the hood at both ends to allow for Penguin double filters AND a top mount heater. I used a saber saw to enlarge the openings on both ends as the standard break out are way too small. The light is a full spectrum light and it does show the neon fish rather well. You get what you pay for. Not a bad deal, if you know how to saw. Remember though, alter the product and void the warranty.

The package contained no bubble wrap and had one small (very small) piece of newspaper in the box which served no purpose given the larger size of the container. The replacement was a 10,000 daylight (about as different from the product I ordered as possible) but because I was already frustrated I decided to keep it because it was a good deal. I got two bulbs overnighted and had no problem with broken bulbs. As with something this fragile, that is sometimes to be expected the way shipping companies throw things around. I installed this into my aquarium hood and it worked as expected, my plants and coral should be happy!

A lot of reviews from people who report that the center of the geyser does not fit fail to read the full directions. My son has one for his tank and explained to me you must have a deep substrate and bury the bottom of the center light in the substrate, then the geyser itself fits over the center piece. It is designed this way to secure the center and yet hide it. Quite clever and when installed this way works perfect and its breath taking to watch. Try it and see.

The LED and the air jet work great and look great. However the Geyser decoration that goes over it doesn't even fit. I spent hours trying to get it to work, but the bottom line is that the the LED and air jet housing is too big for the geyser decoration provided. Waste of money, all I feel I paid for is the LED and air jet, and for just that part being in my tank $60 is ridiculous.

Reptile Cafe Log Hide-Away Tank Décor

I received this product for a baby fat tailed gecko and it seemed fairly small so I measured it and the actual inside of the log is less than 1" high and wide and maybe 4" long. The height was measured to the top of the piece that sticks up on top and the overall length is about an inch shorter than it states. Do not purchase if you have an animal larger than an anole, small snake or crabs.

I purchased this very cute item because the product information said it was okay for an aquarium. The paint peeled within 2 weeks. It should only be used in reptile cages. It was smaller than advertised, 5.5x2.2x2.5, and expensive for what it actually is.

This really is a well made, lovely looking hideaway that the picture on Amazon does no justice to, whatsoever. It's durable and will make any terrarium more handsome for its use, but as other reviewers have mentioned, is unusually small, and is probably more useful as decor than a sleeping area. To put the size of this log in perspective, I'm using it for a few of my snails (helix lucorum) and the adults cannot comfortably get their shells underneath it. It does have discreet ventilation holes, which I appreciate. Also, the babies and smaller snails love this, but for the most part, I'm keeping it only because it looks so nice.

I really like this aquarium net that Tetra put out. It is similar to the net that Marina makes in that it looks like it has the same exact mesh size and material, even the plastic at the tip of the handle is the same. In fact every thing is just about the same, except it seems as though the handle on the Tetra is made a little thicker. This is a longer handled net though (than Marina's offerings) which allows me to get into most of my aquariums without even getting my hand wet. The mesh is a perfect size and doesn't harm the fish in any way. Not much to say because it is just a good old aquarium net.

Lee's Mini Economy Gravel Vacuum

We have a small (1.7 gal) aquarium and this gravel siphon works perfectly for it. Very happy with this product.

Product is a plastic tube with hot-glued feet. Very cheap. Buy it only if you can get it for under $1, any more than that and you will be disappointed.

The Ghost House looks ok in the tank, but it's cheaply made upon any kind of inspection. I don't really own the kinds of fish that this was made for, so I can't speak to how knife fish, etc will take to it, but my small goldfish liked playing in it and my pleco used it every once inawhile. No tears were shed, though, when one of the legs broke while I was pushing it back down into the gravel one day. It went straight into the garbage and will not be replaced.

Tetra 77853 Whisper Air Pump, 40-Gallon

For the money this is a good little air pump. Although I do have to say that after around the 4 month mark like everyone else giving a review here it got very noisy.

Don't worry there is a fix! Unscrew the 4 Philips head screws under the unit and separate the bottom and the top. You will find a stack of "L" shaped magnets. Move the stack a bit to the right and tighten the nut that holds the "L" shaped magnets in place. Put it back together and ta-da no more noise! The Problem is that the little arm that holds the square shaped magnet is hitting the "L" shaped magnets with every pump. All you have to do is give it some space so it doesn't hit the other stack of magnets. The nut might not have be tight enough when they built it or it rattled loose during normal use allowing the stack of magnets to slip a bit.

All in all this is a pretty good pump. Just wish Tetra would pay closer attention to the little things.

I bought one of these for my 29 gallon tank to use with a bubble wand. It was easy to set up and worked fine for two days. On the third day, when I came home from work, the first thing I heard when I walked in the front door was a loud buzzing sound. I followed the buzz to find out that it was the air pump. It wasn't the pump itself vibrating against the shelf it was on, but the motor of the pump. My aquarium is towards the back of the house, so for me to hear it as soon as I walked in tells you it was pretty loud. On top of that, there was only a small amount of air coming out of the bubble wand. I figured I'd just gotten a defective one, so I returned it and got a replacement. It worked great for about a month and a half until it woke me up this morning making the same exact loud buzz that the first one did. Low airflow to the bubble wand as well. Unfortunately, it broke after the store's return period expired, so now I can either deal with the manufacturer (which is always fun) or just count my losses and move on.

Would not recommend to others.

I've had a Koi pond for 8 years now. Prior to this year, I stopped feeding them (Tetra Koi Viabrance) after the water drops below 50 deg (Oct Mar). My fish were fine each spring. This year I saw this online, and said what the heck, I'll give it a try. The fish will eat the stuff, but at a much lower rate than the regular season (which is normal). Problem is, this box is too big for my needs (with only 13 fish). I only saw 2 sizes, this and 7.05 ounce can, which was $10 versus $15 for this. I wish they had a package that was half this size (but bigger than can), cause the fish won't eat all of this between the fall & spring of next year. I don't know if they really need this stuff as I mentioned above, but for the price I figure it can't hurt to feed them until water hits below 40 deg.

That about says it all! Perfect fit! Maybe wish the back plastic piece was 1/2" wider, my protein skimmer return barely fits, but it does!

I just wanted to leave a note because I felt bad for the seller. The logistics for this item is fulfilled by Amazon. They ended up shipping it in a package with 40 lbs of substrate that I ordered directly from them. To no great surprise these lids both arrived shattered. I do not feel as though this is a knock against the seller, they happily refunded me my money, I pin this totally on amazon.

The lids that arrived are the Aqueon brand which I know for a fact would fit the aquarium that I have, I just decided not to order more because I had second thoughts about ordering something fragile and glass from amazon again.

I have an Aqueon 33 Long tank which is 48"x13x13 with a center divider. I got two. They fit almost perfectly. About 1/8 inch short on length but rests on the divider so no exposed area lengthwise. However, there is about a 1/4" gap with witdth that does expose water. I don't foresee any problems.

A nice sturdy light for the money.

It does have a few drawbacks as already reviewed, namely the fact the power has to run through a timer (which is included) as there is no off/on switch for either tube.

The ballast itself is quite sturdy, more than I thought it would be for the price when compared to more high-end brands.

The brackets that attach to the aquarium to hold up the light are not as sturdy as I would like for such a heavy piece balanced over water.

Also, the product description doesn't fully spellout the right size bulbs you have to buy, as they are NOT included. I bought the 36" system, but it takes 34" bulbs.

A very good value for the money. I have mine over a 45 gallon tall, freshwater, planted aquarium and the light penetrates to the bottom quite evenly.

I would buy another as I feel the price is very good for the heavy-duty construction of the actual fixture, as long as you know the above mentioned quirks.

I might also note there is no lens cover included if this matters to you.

Had this lighting setup for about 2 years, which is not bad, but then it just unexpectedly stopped working. This is because there is NO water blocking shield on the light at all, which over time caused water to build up in the unit and caused it to die. This could easily be fixed by a simple shield, unfortunately the light doesn't come with one. I was disappointed to see it go and will be switching to an Aqueon LED setup.

The led's are small like you would find in a kids toy. The light is focused in one spot for the most part so you need two for a ten gallon unless you only want one half of the tank lit up. Other than that it's a nice little Chinese light.

I bought the Finnex LCL-21 first for my 5.5g mysid and copepod tank, it had to be rigged with tape to stay on and it was dim. This unit, while too expensive for what it is, is worlds better.

The red led's add a nice effect during sunrise and sunset.

This lights up my 5.5g very brightly.

I recently moved a blue and red fuzzy mushroom from my all sps tank and it is doing very well, seemingly preferring this light output over my intense sps tanks' lighting.

Three switches work perfectly and this fits snuggly to the rim of the tank.

It would be 5 stars if it were sold for $15-$20 less.

Great skimmer, well worth the price. It was a bit loud the first week or two, but now just a nice hum. Construction is great.

Azoo Mignon Filter 150 Power Filter

I've been running the Azoo Mignon filter in my fish tank for about two months now and it runs like a champ. It is very quiet (unless the water level in the tank drops, and then I just need to refresh the water levels--no fault of the filter) and seems to do a very good job keeping the tank clean. I have been using it on a smaller 5-gallon tank and I turned the flow down some so the water isn't so turbulent. My goldfish (the only occupant in my tank) seems to like it and I see him hanging out occasionally around the spillway--he seems to like the slight briskness of the flow. I would highly recommend it. I'm sure it would do a fine job in a larger tank too.

I bought this little filter in my local fish store for my 5.5 gallon Aqueon tank.

The carbon filtration seems to work perfectly. I installed it right after a week long Melafix treatment for one of my guppies (this is my nursery/hospital tank) so the water was very cloudy. In 12 hours, there was a substantial change in the cloudiness. In 24 hours, the water was nearly clear. By 48 hours, the tank was sparkling clean. This works perfectly for a 5.5 gallon tank.

Now for the chemical filtration, included in the package is one set of the carbon filter cartridge, and a thin black sponge "for mechanical filtration." Indeed the media in the thin black sponge was thin and spacious; there is less surface area in the sponge than optimal. Afraid that I did not have enough surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow on (truly not an issue), I purchased a pack of replacement sponges for the Azoo Mignon 60 and used the "bio-filter" (aka dense sponge for bacteria to coat) and placed it into the Mignon 150. The sponge is obviously smaller than intended, but all intents and purposes, it works.

The filter does have an adjustable flow knob at the top of the intake. Contrary to the functionality of even the "top brands" of filters, this knob does make a significant difference in the flow. Also, this feature is not commonly found on smaller models of power filters. This makes it useful for tanks housing fry who can't fight current or may be sucked into the filter.

All I have to say about the noise level is that it is virtually silent. If the water gets too low in the tank, of course, the out-flow will make noise, but that's not an issue of the filter.

This was an affordable and fully functional power filter. It is worth every cent. The extra media that I put into the filter is not necessary. I would not advise this filter for anything larger than the tank I have, however.

36013 Mini Aqualight T5 Light Fixture

I bought this light because it fit my proflex model 3 sump that I am using as a refugium perfectly. Unfortunately, the first light only lasted about a week. I exchanged it for a second one, which only lasted about 10 days. I would NOT recommend this product. Heed the advice of myself and other reviews. Look for another alternative, or take your chances. That being said, Amazon's WONDERFUL service resulted in a speedy replacement, and ultimately a speedy response and FULL refund on the second return.

This would be a great light, if the bulbs did not keep burning out. I've replaced the same bulb twice in the space of a few months and my tank is now dark because I can't continue to keep buying replacement bulbs for it and will need to look for a different solution. Waste of money.

Micro Temp Controller Heater Controller (Mfg# AZ12037)

I bought one of these to control two heaters in my 55 gal. discus tank. At higher temps. it is inaccurate. This is only a minor problem after you recognize what it needs to be set at to get what you want. Another problem I had was that the instructions are pretty much useless. The temp. adjustment (through a small hole in the back) is difficult to set accurately. The setting display presents temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit without any decimals as it says in the manual. The readout normally displays degrees Celsius.

The really serious problem occurred this week. We had a brief power outage. When the electricity came back it had reset to a default setting of 78 degrees (too cold for discus). By the time I checked it in the morning, the temp. had fallen from 87 degrees to around 77 degrees. The fish were stressed, but fortunately looked better after a couple of days.

The idea of having a common controller for multiple heaters is an excellent one. I just wish this one worked better.

Update: It quit working completely after about a month. I returned it and got my money back.
