Carib Sea Geo Marine Saltwater Florida Crushed Coral 10 lb

Carib Sea Geo Marine Saltwater Florida Crushed Coral 10 lbI was having PH crash problems in my fish tank when we moved to a town with a different tap water supply...for some reason I couldn't get my goldfish water to maintain a PH above 6.4!!! My poor babies :( I tried every chemical known to man, and it's a miracle my fish survived. I finally found a website online that suggested coral as a PH buffer. I put about 1/4 c in a hanging mesh bag into the water and keep it there 24/7...and now the PH is 7.4. I have a 14.5 gallon tank. I heard that mixing the coral straight into the substrate causes nitrate issues down the road when it breaks down, which is why I keep it in a bag. I can't support whether that is true, but my method has worked just fine so far, and I've replaced it once in the last year. I highly suggest trying this if you have the same issue like me!

Hagen Nutrafin Waste Control Bio Aqua Cleaner, 4 ounces 120 ml

Hagen Nutrafin Waste Control Bio Aqua Cleaner, 4 ounces 120 mlThis NutraFin Waste Control product has really made a difference in my life! I have two medium-large fish tanks (29 and 26 gallons). The larger tank has some large Freshwater Clown Loaches who are darling but who eat a lot and make a lot of waste. I use this product and its companion product by the same manufacturer Cycle and the water stays clear and the fish seem happy and healthy. I make small water changes about once a week and have extra sponge media in two filter boxes for each tank. I enjoy my fish tanks much more now.

I have a big fat Oranda whose about 8 yrs old in one tank and a Fancy goldfish who is 9 yrs in the tank next to his. I swear sometimes they have pooping competitions. They eat a lot of different things like veggies fruits and sometimes worms or shrimp. This stuff works to get out the sludge on bottom, it eats it up and keeps ammonia levels down. They each are in a 55 gallon tank by themselves but they are big and poop giant foot longers. This stuff helps maintain a healthy aquarium and naturally too.

Buy Hagen Nutrafin Waste Control Bio Aqua Cleaner, 4 ounces 120 ml Now

I have used three Nutrafin products in tandem (Cycle, Waste Control, AquaPlus) since first setting up my aquarium almost 12 years ago. They are the only water conditioning products I have ever used. My goldfish who lives in this tank is now 11-1/2 years old and still healthy. It seems to be working well and I have no reason to try any other products.

Sicce CO2 Life 2 Carbon Cartridge Refill

Sicce CO2 Life 2 Carbon Cartridge RefillThis system has transformed my 75-gallon tank into a lush, plant-filled environment! I couldn't be happier with the results. Well worth the investment as far as I'm concerned, particularly since the system is so easy to install and maintain.

I just received this from AMAZON. I have high hopes for this unit, as I don't want to invest in $300.00 for a big CO2 system. I have a 75 brand new, 2 months, aquarium with a nice growth of Hair algae! 45 plants and 40 community fish.

This unit and a Master Dosing Mix from: freshwateraquariumplants.com for the correct nutrients SHOULD do it.

btw: That is a Great site to purchase plants and aquascapes. Don M. is a master Horticulturalist(sp?)

Snoozer- Pet Couch - Small

Snoozer Pet Couch, Small, Highland MaizeThe size that I ordered from their description was off by 2 to 4 inches on every dimension, and the quality was marginal at best.

I have had this bed for my cat before and she loves it. The only reason I am replacing it is my puppy ate the last one. It has high sides and is soft and comfy. Teething puppies will tear up the foam.

Buy Snoozer- Pet Couch - Small Now

This bed doesn't provide much support, and at 24 x 12 x 15 inches, is a quite small for my 11.5 lb. cockerpoo who can't stretch out in it. Even curled up, she completely fills up this bed. I bought it in hopes that she would sleep in it instead of trying to sleep on my bed. She seems to prefer the floor or rocking chair to this bed which she only uses for only small part of the night. Considering returning it.

AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow rate

AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow ratei had purchased several aquarium kits that contain these filters. after looking for quite some time for replacement cartidges. i contacted the company and found that you can use the tetra whisper 3i replacement cartrideges for this filter

I've had this filter for 2 months now. I use this filter for my 5-gallon tank and it keeps the water crystal clear. I also enjoy the quality aeration it produces in the water so I never need to buy an air pump. Additionally, I have a very small room so the only location I have for my aquarium is next to my bed, and though I'm sensitive to noises, I sleep with no disruptions. I thoroughly enjoy this little compact filter.

The only hiccup is that the filter cartridges for this model are not sold anywhere, but Tetra's small Bio-bag filter cartridges work just fine. Still, this hiccup doesn't affect my satisfaction of this little filter.

Buy AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow rate Now

This is a very good filter, but it has a short life, at least for me. My second Mini Might Filter just crapped out on me. Don't know if it's something I'm doing, or it's just a bad product, because it is a good filter. I've had this one for a bit more than a month, and it's having the same problem as my last filter. It makes this awful Darth-Vader sucking noise. That's the best way to describe it. Still seems to filter, but that terrible noise! I feel so bad for my fish to have to endure that :( All the other filters I have seen have been huge, I want a tiny filter, but this one isn't working!

I've had this for a long time. It filters very well for a little one, and is so tiny, it hardly takes up any space. The odd sucking noise is not the filters fault, it happens with any filter that is exposed above air. To rid any filter of that noise, stick it under the water, like it should be.

this filter is very quiet unlike other filters I have and the only bad thing is the cartridges you have to buy tetra mini cartridges its own company does not make them but always keeps water crystal clear

Tetra Half Moon Bubbler, 3-Gallon

Tetra Half Moon Bubbler, 3-GallonGiven what I paid and what this products comes with, I really can't complain too much. This product is a good deal, but is not for someone who wants a good quality tank and is willing to pay extra for it (since I am using for a single Betta, I did not want to spend a ton). I bought this product locally and I quickly looked inside the box to make sure everything look untouched and brought it home. I should have looked more closely... after starting to set up the aquarium I noticed the lid was cracked... then I noticed the top of the tank was also cracked. Annoyed, I went back to the store and closely inspected the 4 remaining boxes, and 2 of those tanks were also cracked in the same top corner, and the other boxes were opened by previous customers. after inspecting all of the parts I managed to put together a complete and unbroken set.

Now perhaps these cracks were due to mishandling, but that asidethe plastic is pretty thin and appears brittle (particularly the lid), and this will not take much trama before cracking. Keep this in mind if you plan on moving it around from time to time. I also inspected the 3 gallon cube by the same companythe lid was made of the same stuff but the tank itself seemed to be thicker plastic. That tank has white overhead LEDs instead of the colors and bubbles, and the shape is a cube (obviously) and not as tall or as narrow as this 'half moon' shape. It was a toss up, but I went with the half moon for the colors my daughter wanted and shape.

Everything in the box seemed to be fine upon first set up, although everything seems on the 'cheap' side. I agree with the other reviewer... the most annoying thing is the color lights/bubbler unit wants to float even after weighting with gravel/stones. It took some manuevering to stabilize that component. The good thing is that the bubbler/filter speeds are quite adjustable by dials that control the air coming from the air pump, which is good given that Bettas don't like a lot of water movement.

Once setup it looks pretty nice (and looks nicer if you have fish that will tolerate the bubbler on higher settings as this makes the tank more colorful). Hopefully it lasts.

This tank is amazing! My half moon Betta fish loves his mansion, and has been swimming all over his new crib for 3 weeks now. Plenty of space for him to swim. Extremely easy set up. The tank is a perfect half cylinder shape that makes your Betta fish easy to view from all angles. I highly recommend purchasing a tank heater because the tank is 3gallons the temperature would be best regulated by a heater. The bubbler also provides another toy for my fish to swim through he loves it. Of course the colors are BEAUTIFUL!! the subtle sound of the filter with the bubbler and the colors provides a very soothing environment and conversation piece. At night the lights in the tank project a flowing color changing image on my ceiling. This product is perfect. CAUTION! follow the instructions for water changes to a science, if you add too little or too much water when cleaning the tank the nitrogen cycle occurring already in the tank water will get messed up, causing your tank to become murky, and could rot your fish's fins. Follow the easy instructions and you should be fine though.

I purchased two of these aquariums for two betta fish my children own. I use only reverse osmosis water along with Nutrafin Betta Plus and Betta Bowl plus when out of the Nutrafin. This uses the Small filter cartridge.

I love that you can adjust the flow of the water coming out of the filter. You can also adjust the air bubbler. There are two valves for each of the tubes. I run both on low for the Betta's well being. I still need to get a mini heater, though. This kit is a great introductory kit for anyone wanting a betta fish.

The betta fish swim alot more in this 3 gallon aquarium than in the Marina .5 gallon tank. I added live plants and bright gravel. We also added a colorful marine paper background, purchased from a local pet store, to give a very beautiful view, instead of just looking straight through it.

The LED lights are beautiful to look at. At first, submerge, entirely, the LED saucer-type device completely under gravel and let the air bubbles blow at medium rate. After two hours, carefully remove the gravel to reveal the LED lights. Otherwise, the LED saucer-type device will just want to keep flying up to the surface. I guess it needs air to be blown into it for a few hours to get settled. I unplug the LED lights at night so the fish can sleep. The air bubbler is still plugged in. The filter has its' own AC adaptor as well. I'm hoping that with a 15-20% water change every week I will only need to change the filter every three weeks. With baby bettas use betta flake food; with large, adult bettas use betta pellets. The flow of the water from the filter does not throw either type of food violently all over the surface.

I really think that using reverse osmosis water (purchased for $1.50 [for 5 gallons] at a water kiosk close to the grocery store) contributes to the success of keeping the fish healthy, as well.

I purchased my aquariums at a local discount retailer for ten dollars less than on Amazon.

I purchased this tank for my little betta who was too big for his 1 gallon, non filtered tank. The first time I ordered the Tetra Half Moon Bubbler, the tank was cracked, but Amazon sent another within two days (so it's a good idea to inspect this as soon as you get it). It's really beautiful when it's all lit up, I just wish the 'bubbler' itself would stay in place! Piling gravel on top of it helps a little bit, but if you try to move the tank or lift the lid off, the 'bubbler' comes loose again and floats to the top. A suction cup on the bottom would've been a great idea, but alas, Tetra hasn't thought of that yet.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this aquarium and filter set. I have had tanks all my life, and this one was a snap to set up. My one quibble with it is the colored light bubbler, however. Although the light it projects is really nice (and it makes the room look pretty at night), the design is a little awkward with the cord coming out of one side. As a result, the bubbler refuses to stay buried, no matter how much gravel I heap onto the edges. Otherwise, a very good product.

Penn Plax Cascade 300 GPH Power Filter

Penn Plax Cascade 300 GPH Power FilterAfter researching a number of different filters for my 20-gallon gourami tank, I decided to give this one a try. It is designed with function in mind, including an adequate system of bio-filtration and flow control. Flow control, though simple in design, is a nice feature to have that is sadly lacking on many HOB filters. This feature was important to me as gouramis are labyrinth fish who prefer slow-moving water, and I wanted the ability to adjust the flow, if necessary.

One reason I hesitated to invest in this filter is that, although the filter itself is very reasonably priced, the replacement filter cartridges are somewhat expensive. Fortunately, the size of the intake tube is just right to use one of these pre-filters: Pre-Filter Sponge 3 Pack for Fluval Edge Aquarium This increases the biological filtration even more while filtering small particles before they ever enter the filter itself. I simply rinse the pre-filter in aquarium water ever two weeks or so and replace the filter cartridge once a month, since activated carbon expires monthly. Rinsing the pre-filter is an easy step, since this has an extendable intake tube, making it easy to detach the endpiece from the filter itself without having to actually pull the sponge off the intake every time. The filter even continues to run while I do this, as long as the end of the intake is submersed. As an added bonus, my flower shrimp loves to eat the particles of food that collect on the sponge, and as a filter feeder, she enjoys the luxury of hanging on the intake to make use of the flow without the danger of being harmed by the filter intake. Meanwhile, between some tinkering with the flow control and the addition of the sponge, the flow itself is weak enough to not upset my male/female pair of gouramis, who are able to blow bubble nests and engage in spawning behavior. Even though this is only a 20-gallon tank, the flower shrimp, clown pleco and mystery snails have their own space, and the gouramis have theirs. Having a sponge pre-filter and flow control also benefits the live plants in my tank, especially the java fern, which proliferates easily and abundantly, but often can be damaged by filter intakes when the young ferns float about the tank before finding a piece of driftwood or other material where they can grow.

In terms of reliability, I have run this filter steadily for four months as of the writing of this review, and, used in conjunction with some additional sponge filters, this has proven itself to be reliable. It is self-priming and consistently restarts automatically following a power outage. It even runs steadily during a partial water change, and the 'Bio-Falls' system seems to provide additional aeration for the water, which is important not only for providing oxygen for my water-breathing creatures, but helps remove toxic substances, which benefits all of the creatures in my tank, including the air-breathing gouramis.

To conclude, I will provide a brief list of pros and cons:

PROS:

1. It is inexpensive

2. It is effective in terms of mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration

3. It is reliable and self-priming

4. It fits the inexpensive Fluval sponge pre-filters

5. It has flow control

CONS:

1. Replacement cartridges are not easily found in stores

2. Replacement cartridges are expensive (but this can be easily addressed by using an inexpensive sponge pre-filter, extending the cartridge life to at least a full month)

I purchased this filter to replace the cheap starter filter that came with my aquarium. The problem with my original filter was the lack of a bio sponge, so that every time I replaced the filter medium, ammonia levels would rise while the new filter grew bacteria, resulting in the nitrite spike when the bacteria finally caught up. I don't know whether this filter would actually handle a 50 gallon aquarium, but on a 20 gallon aquarium, cloudy water and detectable levels of ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite have become a thing of the past.

When I initially set up the filter it was a bit noisy, but after removing and reinstalling the impeller it ran with an almost indiscernible hum. The bio falls booster has the additional side effect of slowing the water on the way out of filter so that it reenters the aquarium less violently than my previous filter despite pumping twice as much water. This helps the filter run quietly with no splashing if your water level is adjusted properly.

The activated carbon filter is unique in that it is broken into a number of cells that each contain activated carbon. As a result, more of water flowing through the filter is exposed to the carbon without sacrificing ease of a slide-in cartridge.

I have only two criticisms of this filter. First, the flow of the carbon cartridge should have been made higher, as there is a small amount of overflow even when this cartridge is new if the filter flow is adjusted to the maximum setting. Second, most of the noticeable noise from the filter comes from the vibration of the lid. This can be overcome by running without the lid, or by using a small piece of tape. This vibration made me question the build quality of an otherwise excellent filter.

The cascade 100 hang on aquarium filter is an excellent choice for your filtration system. It has the bio-sponge for beneficial bacteria and the waterfall release also grows benefical bac. for your fish. Very quiet and hangs perfectly on my tall hex-aquarium. Overall I love this filter. Just make sure you do your water changes and filter changes on opposite weeks. You will kill some benefical bacterica when you do either. But the other will suffice till new bacteria grows.

Aqueon 06055 Goldfish Color Enhancing Granules, 3-Ounce

Aqueon 06055 Goldfish Color Enhancing Granules, 3-OunceHaving kept and raised Fancy Gold fish over the past 35 years it feels like there are few foods In haven't tried. For years I've used Hikari Color Enhancing pellets and felt the formula was worth the expense however the formula has changed and not for the better. It's touted as their most advanced formula, but I was concerned that the formula included MSG (monosodium glutamate) A soy based product known to cause migraines and a myriad of other problems.

MSG is a flavor enhancer, what it does is fool the brain into perceiving that certain foods taste better than they actually would without the addition of MSG. Abundant research concludes it makes otherwise unpalatable food highly palatable.

There are plenty of examples of Asian restaurants, foods and countless products that boldly exclaim No MSG!

I had written to Hikari twice, asking why MSG was included in this particular formula, I've never received a response.

Anyway, as most of you know when reading any pet food list of ingredients, the first three are the most critical. So I recently did a comparison between the Hikari and the Aqueon slow sinking color enhancing granules.

Here's the ingredient list for Hikari:

Fish Meal, Wheat Germ Meal, Wheat Flour, Brewer's Dried Yeast, Starch, Dried Bakery Product, Soy Bean Meal, Gluten Meal, Fish Oil, Spirulina, Vegetable Oil, Astaxanthin, Dried Seaweed Meal, Dried A. niger Fermentation Extract, Monosodium Glutamate, Dl-methionine, Garlic, Dried B. subtilis Fermentation Product, Rice Bran, Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (Stabilized Vitamin C), Inositol, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Vitamin A Oil, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Niacin, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (Source of Vitamin K), Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Disodium Phosphate, Ferrous Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, and Calcium Iodate.

Here's the ingredient list for Aqueon :

Whole Fish Meal (whole salmon, herring and other mixed fishes), Soybean Meal, Whole Wheat Flour, Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Yeast, Fish Oil, Kelp Meal, Garlic, Spirulina, Dicalcium Phosphate, Natural Astaxanthin, Choline Chloride, Calcium Propionate (a preservative), L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), Vitamin A Acetate, Cholecalciferol (source of Vitamin D3), Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Menadione Sodium Bisulphite Complex (source of Vitamin K activity), Folic Acid, Thiamine, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (B6), Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, DL-Alphatocopherol (E), Manganese Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, and Copper Sulfate

Key Points

* Hiraki doesn't identify which fish the meal is made from.

This means they change sources frequently and may be using diseased, rancid fish. Be very wary regardless of any pet food that uses vague terms like "animal digest" "ocean fish" or "Meat" if it's not specific it's a problem

*Aqeon identifies the fish they use a major sign of quality in any pet food.

* There's very little "filler" in Aqeon in comparison to the Hikari formula. Another sign of good nutrition and quality.

Cost

* The Hikari retails for $17.00 for 7 ounces

* The Aqeon retails for $2.99 for 3 ounces a dramatically better formula and by far much less expensive

As a side note, no commercial food for Goldfish can replace a varied diet including fresh veggies, quality gel foods, bits of defrosted raw shrimp and so on. Aqueon is an excellent food as a staple but like any commercial food needs to be supplemented.

So glad to find Aqueon Color Enhancing Granules online. These are smalll granules, not pellets. The fish seems to like these best. No tank mess. Great color enhancing!

Azoo Mignon Filter 150 Power Filter

Azoo Mignon Filter 150 Power FilterI've been running the Azoo Mignon filter in my fish tank for about two months now and it runs like a champ. It is very quiet (unless the water level in the tank drops, and then I just need to refresh the water levels--no fault of the filter) and seems to do a very good job keeping the tank clean. I have been using it on a smaller 5-gallon tank and I turned the flow down some so the water isn't so turbulent. My goldfish (the only occupant in my tank) seems to like it and I see him hanging out occasionally around the spillway--he seems to like the slight briskness of the flow. I would highly recommend it. I'm sure it would do a fine job in a larger tank too.

I bought this little filter in my local fish store for my 5.5 gallon Aqueon tank.

The carbon filtration seems to work perfectly. I installed it right after a week long Melafix treatment for one of my guppies (this is my nursery/hospital tank) so the water was very cloudy. In 12 hours, there was a substantial change in the cloudiness. In 24 hours, the water was nearly clear. By 48 hours, the tank was sparkling clean. This works perfectly for a 5.5 gallon tank.

Now for the chemical filtration, included in the package is one set of the carbon filter cartridge, and a thin black sponge "for mechanical filtration." Indeed the media in the thin black sponge was thin and spacious; there is less surface area in the sponge than optimal. Afraid that I did not have enough surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow on (truly not an issue), I purchased a pack of replacement sponges for the Azoo Mignon 60 and used the "bio-filter" (aka dense sponge for bacteria to coat) and placed it into the Mignon 150. The sponge is obviously smaller than intended, but all intents and purposes, it works.

The filter does have an adjustable flow knob at the top of the intake. Contrary to the functionality of even the "top brands" of filters, this knob does make a significant difference in the flow. Also, this feature is not commonly found on smaller models of power filters. This makes it useful for tanks housing fry who can't fight current or may be sucked into the filter.

All I have to say about the noise level is that it is virtually silent. If the water gets too low in the tank, of course, the out-flow will make noise, but that's not an issue of the filter.

This was an affordable and fully functional power filter. It is worth every cent. The extra media that I put into the filter is not necessary. I would not advise this filter for anything larger than the tank I have, however.

P.S. Check out the photo(s) I have uploaded!

TOM Aquarium Temp Alert Fahrenheit Digital Thermometer

TOM Aquarium Temp Alert Fahrenheit Digital ThermometerGot this for my 29G tank and it works as described. It's much better than the "peel & stick" thermometers. Displays the time and temp. The alarm/alert can be turned if needed and the temp probe is plenty long. If you own an aquarium this is what you want to maintain the perfect temp. Also works great with water changes. You can get the "new" water the perfect temp BEFORE you add it to your tank.

This a good thermometer for the money. It works quite well. The only issue I have is the alarm when the water gets above 80 degrees. In the summer it is difficult to keep the water below 80 and the tone gets to be annoying.

Buy TOM Aquarium Temp Alert Fahrenheit Digital Thermometer Now

This is a really great product...if only it worked longer than a few months. Worked great for the first 3 months I had it, now it reads a constant 10 degrees higher than what the temperature really is. I've tested the water with 3 other thermometers and they all ready 79.5 F while the TOM Aquarium Temp Alert reads 88.7 F. I would pass on this product

Read Best Reviews of TOM Aquarium Temp Alert Fahrenheit Digital Thermometer Here

This thermometer only displays the temp where the probe is, not room and water temp as their misleading claim. The temp alarms (2 not 4 as claimed) are preset to alert you if the temp drops below 75 or above 82 degrees, they claim it has 4 alerts which is not true . 75 degrees is max for my tank so alerts are useless. So be sure you can use it before you buy it. I bought 4 different types of digital thermometers and put all 4 in one tank with the probes side by side and all 4 have a different reading. According to my floating thermometer this one reads 2 degrees hotter.

Want TOM Aquarium Temp Alert Fahrenheit Digital Thermometer Discount?

In contrast to what I read in another review here before purchasing the thermometer, I found that the high and low temp alerts are preset to (if I remember right) 76 and 82 or so. This is not workable for me (I'm in Tucson and keep my house at 85 or so in the summer) so I returned it. Part of the description also talks about 4 alert features. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what this means. That each of the two alerts turns both on and off?

Hagen Elite Underwater Mini Filter, UL Listed

Hagen Elite Underwater Mini Filter, UL ListedI have a 2 1/2 gallon bowl and I bought this to clean the water up. ProsIt picks up bigger particles. ConsIt is way too strong of a current. My betta was having some serious troubles against it even when the valve was barely open. Here's my suggestion to make it a great and cheap filter. Step one: Buy extra filter sponges, they only cost around $6 and trust me it's worth it. Step two: Take one of the extra sponges and place it on the end of the out-put cone. Step three: Buy some activated charcoal or carbon and place it inside an empty and clean tea/spice bag (about a teaspoon or so works). Then place bag inside the filter on the bottom over the intake area, underneath the inner sponge. With the sponge on the outside my betta loves swimming around it and against the now very gentle current and he can still float on top easily.

I have a 360* View tank, and of course its a cylinder and u cant fit a normal filter. I was planning on buying an exterior canister filter for $60 since all the filter i looked at were far to large to fit in the aquarium without hindering my fish's space to swim.

Then i thought id give it one last shot at looken and i found this tiny little filter. Its small but packs alot of filter power. You can use the sponges that elite sells or even make one of your own, so your not stuck buying premade filter packs.

I have a 3.5 gallon tank and it was cloudy looking since the filtration system was lacking, and after adding this filter its crystal clear. Im rlly impressed. It adds extra oxygen and my fish look all the happier and look much more energized and i feel better knowing that they have a clean and healthy tank now.

Love that it can go anywhere in the tank so if i feel like doing a new scene in my tank it can be moved to be out of the way and not disturb the view.

This by far is one of the best filters i've ever owned. And i've had alot of tanks and filters.

if u have a betta , goldfish, platies, tetras w/e u got in a small tank this will do the job Extremely well.

will look foward to buying more elite filters for my tanks to come.

i bought this for my Betta's 1 gallon bowl and it was too strong until i put a large decoration right in front of it and it made the flow perfect. Then the filter started getting slimy and it never did anything for the ammonia levels. I moved my betta into a fully filtered aquarion and put this filter away for a few months, but i brought it back out for another fish in a 1 gallon box shaped aquarium. This time not only did i block the flow with a decoration but i also took out the dinky little sponge inside and put in good quality activated carbon. Not only did the carbon slow down the flow of the filter so i no longer need to block it but it also does a fantastic job of keeping the aquarium chemistry balanced and the water clean and clear.

This product is great it does a lot of mechanical filtering which sucks up all uneaten food and waste. Its very small but is extremely powerful you can feel a heavy current if you turn it up all the way. The great thing is is that the power is adjustable.

Cleaning is easy just pop the bottom half off and run the sponge under a faucet and squeeze.

It also has a tube that sticks out above the water to aerate the current so you don't even need an airstone.

This is way better than the other filter I bought that uses an air pump to filterSmall World® Aquarium Filter Replacement Cartridges, 2-Pack

Attached are pictures showing the modifications discussed by other members to keep filtering high but current low.

My only qualm is that it doesn't do much for cloudy water because it is more mechanical. This can be fixed though by adding activated carbon or a finer sponge into the chamber.

Great small powerful filter. Plus super easy maintenance. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

Purchased this filter for my daughter's 2.5 gallon aquarium. The aquarium had a whisper mini in tank filter that was very large and taking up too much space for this small aquarium. I purchased this filter because it is much smaller and allows more room for the fish.

The filter was easy to setup and install. The flow rate is adjustable and for a small 2.5 gallon aquarium, it needs to be set to the lowest setting. The filter is very quiet and I have to put my ear up the aquarium to hear it running without the aerator hose attached. Using the aerator will cause the filter to run louder as air is sucked into outflow.

Recommended for those with small aquariums 3 gallons and under.
