I was having PH crash problems in my fish tank when we moved to a town with a different tap water supply...for some reason I couldn't get my goldfish water to maintain a PH above 6.4!!! My poor babies :( I tried every chemical known to man, and it's a miracle my fish survived. I finally found a website online that suggested coral as a PH buffer. I put about 1/4 c in a hanging mesh bag into the water and keep it there 24/7...and now the PH is 7.4. I have a 14.5 gallon tank. I heard that mixing the coral straight into the substrate causes nitrate issues down the road when it breaks down, which is why I keep it in a bag. I can't support whether that is true, but my method has worked just fine so far, and I've replaced it once in the last year. I highly suggest trying this if you have the same issue like me!

I have a 150 lb dog who is having leakage issues while she is taking some steroid medication, so this was a must buy. The XX-Large size is somewhat of a tight fit, (it says for dogs up to 120 lb, but this was the largest size available), but I can still slide my fingers underneath the diaper and her belly without trouble, so I know it's not too tight. It also doesn't leave any marks on her skin after wearing it overnight, which was a concern of mine.

I am impressed with the quality of the fabric and durability of the diapers. They have soft cloth and seem to breath well. Since they come in a 2-pack I can alternate washing one while she wears one, which is incredibly convenient. They have been through 4 wash/dry cycles and are holding up great. There is also a lot of adjustment room in securing the velcro, so you can adjust the waist size for many dog types, (the XX-Large is for a waist 25-40 inches).

On a side note: if you are looking for diaper liners to go inside of these, I would buy adult (human) diaper liners from the store since they are cheaper, larger and have better absorbency than the dog brand pads I have bought in the past.

I ordered the Cover-Ups for our elderly 70lb. Am Staff and use it with male guards made for humans. Love how well they hold up in the washing machine and are easy to put on and take off, but wish they stayed on a little better. He does well wearing his "diaper" during the day, since we pull it up every so often, but manages to wiggle out of it at night. While the package shows that XXL size fits dogs 90-120 lbs, after reading some of the reviews, I opted to order a XXL instead of XL for my 70 lbs dog and am glad I did. I got this despite what the other reviewer said. Mainly because I myself have a betta. This tank is more than perfect for my needs. It was the cheapest tank I've seen that included everything. The net alone is worth 5 dollars and the bowl is worth like 15 so you get what you pay for but with free shipping basically. Anyways, they could have included more gravel, but it's not a big deal. The plant is good enough. The net is good enough. The bowl is great. Very large enough for a male betta. Check out the photos I uploaded so you get a better idea of what's included.

I don't know who came up with this product but clearly the responsible party does not know anything about goldfish. This 2.5G starter kit is a death chamber for goldfish. Goldfish are not hardy like the wonderful betta splendens. Goldfish are high maintenance critters. First they eat a lot of vegetation and well...what goes in must come out. In other words, they have to relieve themselves quite a bit. For their bathroom habits, goldfish requires a powerful filter which this product was not designed to hold. Secondly, goldfish are social fish. They like to be among their own kind and 2.5 gallons is not big enough for a few goldfish, let alone one goldfish. If anything you can use this start kit for betta fish but you will need a heater for it. Bettas are tropical fish whose origins are based in Thailand. They are used to warm waters in the range of 75 to 80 degrees fahrenheit. You will also need a cover because bettas are jumpers. Oh and try to do water changes every 3 days. After all fishes live in their own toilets. The ammonia in their waste does affect their health. Products like this so-called Goldfish Bowl Start Kit is an abomination. The company who makes these awful products are profiting off bad information passed around at pet stores and online. Please do your research in fish forums before you invest in a fish regardless of species. If you don't, the consequences could be fatal for the fish.

This thing is small. It is rated as a 40 gallon, in tank filter. There is only enough room for a little bit of media, and the only thing included is a thin strip of black sponge, the more porous kind for housing bio bacteria. But that's it. It will not hold Purigen in the bag, nor does it come with regular floss or carbon. You could add carbon to it in loose form. At least add some small bio-balls, or folded up filter floss. It would not be sufficient as your only method of filtration on a 40 gallon tank. Really, on any tank, as it is. However, it is quiet and produces a good outflow. The little suction cups work well, also. I'm using it in my 75 gallon tank as extra filtration, but mainly to agitate the surface. (I am using the suction cups to hold it on, almost at the bottom of the tank, and have the outflow pointing up) It has a few different attachments so you can point the outflow however you like. There is an attachment to attach it to an air pump also. One thing that is dumb: THERE ARE NO INTRUCTIONS. Luckily it's basic and I've set up and tweaked filters for many years. If you're looking for a cheap filter, spend the extra $5-$10 and get something else (BIGGER) from a bigger named company. Do not use this as your only means of filtration, because it is not large enough to hold the proper material for adequate filtration. You need (1) Aquarium floss or a sponge to collect debris that's floating in the water (2) Something porous to allow beneficial bacteria to grow on (VERY IMPORTANT-Google 'Nitrogen Cycle') (3) Possibly carbon, to purify your water. (You have to change it regularly or it starts to pollute your tank) So it's not big enough to house all that...but it is excellent to move water (avoiding "dead spots") and help oxygenate the tank (by agitating the surface). Also cheaper and quieter than a power-head setup, and just as effective.

I was immediately impressed with the heft of these, I guess I expected them to feel thin and light. The work well for trimming plants that grow too tall, and are quite comfortable to use. I just wipe them off with a dry cloth after using and hang them from a hook in the cabinet under my aquarium. I've noticed no signs of spotting or corrosion on them so far, in the few months I've had them. Glad I bought these instead of a cheap pair that might not last.

Works pretty well but only gets 3 stars because what the don't tell you is your gonna need to use all 3 "single" use packets at once in order to completely submerge and clean your power heads or heaters....

My advice:

_Dissolve all 3 packets in a bucket with just 1 gallon of water.

_Completely submerge all equipment, let soak for about 4 hrs.

_Brush or wipe off any leftover gunk and Rinse well. Done.

I had my red ear slider since it was hatchling, about a year. I was broke and didn't much about turtle maintenance but judging by the name, ReptoFilter, and the fact that I found it in the Aquatic Turtle section, I bought it. Something is better than nothing. Turtles are deceptively messy. In the beginning, I has happy with the filter because it seemed to do the job right. As a plus, the filter is super quiet and the only time it made a noise is about the time it needs to be changed anyway. Although pre-filters are available, I found it cost-effective to clean out and refill reusable filter bags. I even fed my turtle in a separate tub to reduce the debris. In the beginning, everything was great.

As the turtle grew, so did the mess. And I found the filter having a hard time keeping up with my turtle. I had to unclog it a few times. Although, We'd make it a point every week to clean it, it took a significant amount of our time and energy to routinely to that. Ultimately, despite my efforts to try to maintain the filter as best as I could, the filter died on me. So, I got my funds together and got a three stage canister filter. I'm thankful for buying this filter, it got me by. Although canister filters come off pricey, there are better in the long run because you'll only be cleaning it out months at time.

I purchased this for a pair of painted turtles to be housed in a 10 gallon tank and I am overly pleased. I find it to be a lot more powerful than anticipated, and it's extremely quiet. We have the tank in the same room where we sleep and it doesn't bother me one bit. I am a very sensitive sleeper also. The slightest of disturbances will awake me from the deepest of sleep. Regardless of where you keep the water level, it's as tranquil as ever.

This filter is so powerful that it usually sucks 1 inch chunks of cucumber right to it's grate. It does not harm any of our fish and it doesn't bother the turtles either. The refills are very affordable, and if you perform water changes regularly, this filter will do an exceptional job. I have no issues with the heavy duty suction cups, other than sometimes they suck to hard to the glass. I will usually have to give the cups a pinch to break the suction from the aquarium wall. Be careful, because if you pull the unit too hard the suction cups will pop right out of the holes in the back. They are easily placed right back into place, though.

I have owned fish tanks for over ten years and I find the Tetra Repto Filter (10 gallon) to be one of the most impressive I have seen. This unit is submersible, so you will need to get used to the natural process of algae forming on the cord, as well as the casing of the unit. The filter blends into the background and visitors hardly ever comment on the appearance. Like any other filter, you want to rinse out the (black) bio filter each time you do a (carbon) filter change. As long as you're not planning to use this for a much larger tank, I think you will be impressed too.

This is a perfect fit for Lee's Herp Habitat (Large Size: 23 1/4" x 17 1/2" x 11 3/8"). It will fit in the back right or left hand corner with no space between the wall and island for your critters to accidently get stuck in. Suction cups in the back hold it snuggly in place. Filter itself is very quiet but the output will make some noise (it's meant for shallow water and you're going to get splashing). You can minimize this by stacking rocks up front to create a small water fall or 'planting' a small fake aquarium plant (bushy/leafy) beneath the output. Both options will also camaflouge the already non-obtrusive filter. I chose to do the later and it worked perfectly. Replacement bulb doesn't Last 6000 hours (about 8 1/3 mo.) as stated in the Green Killing Machine 9 watt Internal UV Sterilizer with Power Head Lasts only 3 to 6 mo. As stated on box and on the manufacturer's website at "This is not a disposable unit, UV lamps have a life span of 3 to 6 months in constant use. However, it is only suggested for use with green water and unit shall be switched off if water is clear." It also says: "UV radiation at a wavelength of 254mn making the unit extremely effective in controlling bacteria, yeast, moulds and other pathogens." While it does clear up green water, I thought it helped prevent disease. If the mfr. says that it can be shut off when the water is clear, then it only "..is effective in controlling bacteria, yeast, molds, and other pathogens, in turn (as it relates to) controlling algae growth."

All promotional material says: "Prices for these replacement bulbs are very affordable." This is misleading to me, since the yearly cost of running the UV bulb 24/7, and if it lasts only 3 months, can be about $90. I got my replacement bulb from The Umbrella Group who is a very reputable reseller, but I think they may have originally gotten some incorrect info from the mfr?

I have had the Green Killing Machine for over a year now (in a salt and fresh tank) and I love it! I originally bought it for my 36 gallon fresh tank when it was going through a horrible case of algae bloom. It had that thing clean in 7 days (it was a TON of algae) even after chemicals and 0 light for a week couldn't do it. I have since used it in my 36 gallon salt water tank it works great!

The only thing I don't care for about it is the odd/awkward/ugly design... but if that is what it takes to make it work.. *shrug*

On the replacement bulb specifically it comes as one plug and play unit, no need to take the old case apart and reseal. Worked great!

I bought two of these for my two Discus tanks from my local shop.The original bulbs lasted about 4 months.My local shop did not have the replacements,so I came to AMAZON.COM.All is good so far right? I started to see that these are hard to find so I purchased four replacement bulbs for $133.00 ( i believe I had the bigger model,forget the size) The first bulb lasted 2 weeks,the second 1 week,the third did not work at all and the fourth lasted 2 weeks.And no,I did not replace them incorrectly.Please note that this is a great product WHEN it works.My best advice is to keep up on your water tests and water changes.And remember,if i'm taking the time to write this,there are MANY more people who are just disgusted and trashed this unit ,and called it quits without saying a word.I hope this company goes out of business.

I bought the Green Machine and knew right away it was working great. Then it stopped working so I bought this replacement bulb. Well, it's been over two months and I'm stumped as to whether it's working or not. My water is still cloudy (off and on) and the blue filters don't seem to be catching anything. There is no indicator light (at least on mine) that I can see that shows me whether the device is working and frankly, I can't even decide if I like it. I'm kind of bummed because I was looking forward to this doing as great a job as the original part did, but again, I just can't tell. I'd hate to have to shell out for a whole other UV machine, but frankly, I'd rather do that then keep paying money for a unit I don't even know is working!

I bought this unit at the local pet store. I needed algae control in an outdoor top-less 45 g fancy goldfish tank (in FL). It was the cheapest one I could find. It did clear my water, but seems much less effective now, 9 months later. Flow rate is very low, but I guess a low flow rate helps this weak 9 W unit to be effective.

I have not been able to get the light unit apart to inspect the bulb and chamber, so a replacement bulb might be kind of moot. It looks like a lot of people have not had good luck with replacement bulbs, so I am going to consider this a disposable unit that is dead.

One thing I have noticed with replacing UV bulbs in other units (Coral Life TurboTwist and Custom units), is that you do need to be very careful not to touch the bulb itself with your fingers. Something about the oils from your fingers damaging the bulb coating. All of the replacement bulbs have warnings about this. I did not take this seriously at first, but find that I get MUCH better replacement bulb life if I am super-careful and do not handle the bulb directly.
