I bought this tank for my newly purchased betta Kane. It caught my eye at another retailer and I grabbed it. Setting this tank up was easy, it looked nice and Kane seemed to like it. Now to the.. pros and cons list.

Now, his death is still a mystery.. my cat had a wet paw and he was gone. The clear lid sort of snaps into place on the tank, nice.. and it was firmly on. However, the 'feeding' hole is exposed with no cover, and is over 1 inch in diameter. That leaves ample room for a hopping fish.. or hungry cat.. to cause problems.

The filter lid is only held on by a flimsy hinge and kept popping off.. no biggie, but kind of annoying. Also the filters need to be replaced like every 2 weeks, which is a little often, but needed.

the LED light is beautiful, it really is.. also makes it next to impossible to see your fish unless they glow in the dark. It does take up a fair bit of space in the bottom of the tank, so makes placing plants very difficult to say the least.

The air pump is strong, super strong.. so strong in fact, I had to keep the pressure dialed down on both the airstone/light and the filter to keep poor Kane from getting thrown around his tank.

All in all, I'll probably use it again if I decide to get another fish. Right now I'm sort of fed up with it and the whole vanishing fish ordeal that I might look into something better, or at the very least.. tape over that feeding hole to keep my cats from getting nosy again.

Two electric cords, two plastic tubes all coming out of the top of the small tank. Very messy!!! Also no where to put the filter motor. Very messy for a desk top. Cords and tubes everywhere.

I bought this tank for my betta fish. He loves it compared of what has been living in at walmart. He swims all over this 1 gallon tank! I bought this because I never owned an aquarium before and I thought it will be a start to owning bigger ones. To know how to clean them and take good care of your pets. Now I like reviewing fish equipment and this time I got to review this tank. I have to say it is pretty good tank over all with the exception that it needs a light as the bubbler is insufficient.

Ok first the whisper air pump, true to it's name as it is the quietest pump I've ever not heard. ;) Now the filter, it's good but a little noisy as it likes to "gurgle". Fianlly the tank itself is like I said alright, it has a small footprint so it's good for a desktop. The lid does have a tendency to no close completely but unless you're keeping something that move it it's nothing to worry about.

Now I could go into what you should or shouldn't keep in it but I'm not you. I'm keeping feeder snails and a plant in it and it is serving it's purpose exceedingly well for me. So overall I give it 5 stars, it would be 4 1/2 for the bad lid but I'll bump it up because it's not that big a issue.

I must start by saying this is my second attempt on a betta tank. First tank was "recommended" by the pet store clerk and was a small cheap tank no frills. My First fish lasted 2 months in that tank. Unfortunately, cleaning can be difficult with the smaller cheap tanks, and my betta died. :( So my next trip to the pet store I was more prepared. I shelled out big bucks buying a new fish, tank, rocks, filters, thermometer, decorations etc. It took me about 45 mins to get the tank set up and water temp right. I put my betta in a bag and let him float in the water to acclimate him to the water temp. But, once I let him out of the bag, the current from the bubble/filter system was too strong for the little guy. So I shut the bubbles/filter off completely. Making the whole point of buying this particular tank pointless. I wanted a filter so I could clean the tank less then every 5-7 days. I want to take good care of my fish but I'm also busy and don't have time to clean a fish tank every 5 days. If you're the looking for easy maintenance skip this tank. Also, after doing more research online, most sites say that betta fish should be kept in a minimum of 5 gallons with a filter and a heater. I guess with a larger tank the current isn't so strong and the fish can thrive. I fully commit when I purchase a pet and try to give them the best quality of life. I'm extremely disappointed since I spent nearly $60 plus dollars all together and will have to go back and purchase another tank. Maybe this is a good tank for another type of fish? Not so great for betta owners.

FWIW, I'm writing the review from the POV of a spa user. You can use this tester for your pool, salt water aquarium or your hydroponic planter. My supposition is, you're looking at this item because you have needs above and beyond simple test strips. With this TDS meter you'll be able to quickly tell what your total dissolved solids (TDS) are. HM also has a pH meter, the PH-200, which I've been enjoying for a few days now.

The unit is waterproof, light weight, a bit smaller than the size of a small "C" cell flashlight or about the size of a large cigar. It's easy to use, easy to maintain, small form factor for storage purposes and once calibrated, I feel it's an accurate piece of test equipment that gives you the feel of having control over your spa tub water chemistry.

If you're a bit geeky, enjoy the feel of accurate test data and like the peace of mind knowing you have control over your water chemistry, after using this tester a few times, you'll feel confident that you're finally in control of your spa water readings.

Yes, the COM-100 is a bit expensive, but if you have the extra green, for the peace of mind and control over your water chemistry this tester gives you, you'll quickly come to the same conclusion I came to; money well spent.

Note 1. Be sure to buy some calibration solution so you know your reading is accurate. Calibration is simple. Holding the middle button in for a few seconds puts the unit in calibration mode and then it's simply using the up/down arrows to set the digital display to match the calibration fluids stated concentration level. In this case the calibration fluid concentration is 342ppm. You want to use a calibration fluid that's close to your expected needs. In the case of this tester, calibration is no more difficult than using a television remote control.

Note 2. Amazon has "HM Digital Calibration Fluid for Handheld TDS Meter" for sale. You can get calibration fluid in concentrations of either 1000 ppm or 342 ppm. You can get in KCl or NaCl depending on what your water chemistry is.

Note 3. FWIW, you want your spa water to be between 1000 2000 ppm TDS. When it gets above 3000 ppm, it's time to trash the spa tub water because at 3000 ppm, your chemicals become less effective. Knowing TDS is an important aspect of monitoring your spa water chemistry. Without a TDS tester of this kind, you haven't a clue what your TDS is. Due to this, you're either having to trash your water prematurely on a monthly, two or three month cycle. Or the alternative is, use up a lot of time regularly dropping in at your pool/spa supply house with water sample in hand like the doctors office where they're going want you to spend more money. I hate trashing spa water and I hate spending money on chemicals, just so I feel good about getting my water tested for free. With this tester, that's no longer an issue.

Coral Floral Cave with Plants

I got this piece to place in my 2.5 gallon fish bowl with one Betta fish. The fish loves the little cave and it looks nice too. But I found that one of the plants was made of reasonable hard plastic and was damaging the Betta's fins. So cut that plant and everything is good now. The plant would probably not bother other fish.

This faux coral is much more beautiful than what is shown. The orange of the coral is very vibrant and adds a nice splash of color. Also the purple in the brain coral is lovely. There are no jagged edges for the fish's fins to get caught on and the fiddler crabs seemed to like to hide out in it sometimes.

I bought the large bed for our 48lb Basset Hound. It's a good fit for her, but I think next time I'll go with the extra large bed since she likes to stretch out once in a while. We had to help her get in it a couple of times, but now she's figured it out. Our Basset is a spoiled girl with four beds to chose from around the house, but now she only uses this bed. Also, she sleeps all night in this bed and doesn't try anymore to jump into our bed. I would highly recommend this bed for a Basset Hound, but get the extra large.

Don't let the size-name description fool you; a LARGE bed of this type will not fit a LARGE dog. I ordered a "large" bed, and my 2 dogs are each just a little over 60 pounds (medium-large) but neither one of them could fit into the "cave" part of the bed. It's expensive to return, and so unfortunately I will not be trying the extra-large size for fear that it will also incur the extra cost of returning. Just pay very close attention to the measurements of the bed; you may want to get the next size up from what the description may make you believe. ( For example, I doubt that it's possible for a really large 80-100 pound dog, such as a big male Lab, Rotty or similar, to be comfortably accommodated by even the X-Large size Cozy Cave, unless your dog enjoys a very tight fit.)

OTHERWISE, I will say that the bed is of very high quality. If your dog can fit, it really is an extremely nice bed; very plump and cozy, indeed.

I ordered this for my 6 months old Beagle puppy... This is the THIRD bed i order for him, the others are in the garbage because he would chew them, drag them around, shred them to pieces. NOT SO with this one! At first he didn't know what to do with it, so i snuck little treats all the way in... I have this and a small hang on the back filter in my fry tank (hang on the back gets turned off when fry are present) and this filters as much or more than the power filter. the head is adjustable so you can easily raise or lower it so that the discharge is at the water line, and the part with the sponges can be rotated to be in whatever position meets your needs (i like having them down, gives the most length)

I got this despite what the other reviewer said. Mainly because I myself have a betta. This tank is more than perfect for my needs. It was the cheapest tank I've seen that included everything. The net alone is worth 5 dollars and the bowl is worth like 15 so you get what you pay for but with free shipping basically. Anyways, they could have included more gravel, but it's not a big deal. The plant is good enough. The net is good enough. The bowl is great. Very large enough for a male betta. Check out the photos I uploaded so you get a better idea of what's included.

I don't know who came up with this product but clearly the responsible party does not know anything about goldfish. This 2.5G starter kit is a death chamber for goldfish. Goldfish are not hardy like the wonderful betta splendens. Goldfish are high maintenance critters. First they eat a lot of vegetation and well...what goes in must come out. In other words, they have to relieve themselves quite a bit. For their bathroom habits, goldfish requires a powerful filter which this product was not designed to hold. Secondly, goldfish are social fish. They like to be among their own kind and 2.5 gallons is not big enough for a few goldfish, let alone one goldfish. If anything you can use this start kit for betta fish but you will need a heater for it. Bettas are tropical fish whose origins are based in Thailand. They are used to warm waters in the range of 75 to 80 degrees fahrenheit. You will also need a cover because bettas are jumpers. Oh and try to do water changes every 3 days. After all fishes live in their own toilets. The ammonia in their waste does affect their health. Products like this so-called Goldfish Bowl Start Kit is an abomination. The company who makes these awful products are profiting off bad information passed around at pet stores and online. Please do your research in fish forums before you invest in a fish regardless of species. If you don't, the consequences could be fatal for the fish.

This is a smallish can of fish food, but for the price its perfectly okay. The flakes are small, so if you have large fish this may not work for you. I have guppies and cardinal tetras and pygmy rasboras all small fish and they gobble this up eagerly. I like that I can grind it up with my fingers for the little fry to be able to eat.

This is a good purchase if you want to vary what you feed your small fish.

BiOrb 105L Aquarium with LED, Black

The Biorb 105L (28 gallon) has ONLY 3 LED White Lights and 1 Blue LED Night Light.

IF this tank had even slightly adequate lighting for live plants then I'd probably rate it a 5. I intend to retrofit the lighting somehow and am unsure what is going to end up working.

Lighting ISSUES aside... I LOVE the way this tank looks having set it up with lots of drift wood and Java Moss (I really NEED to supplement the lighting soon for the live plants) I have set it up with a platy, 1 molly, 1 white cloud (5 more soon), 7 varied danios, a male betta, 5 bamboo shrimp, 11 glass shrimp and I intend to add some dwarf flame gouramis and maybe a few killifish after some research (because the Betta is related) on if they will work.

I have added copious amounts of cycled rocks & ornaments as well as cycling & balancing chemicals and continue to recheck the water for toxic buildup and do water changes ALL because I have over stocked this tank too soon. Hopefully with constant attention it will be fine.

LASTLY & IMPORTANTLY... Check the tank for imperfections BEFORE you set it up!!! I found some micro cracks & ripples after I set it up and am keeping an eye on them to make sure everything remains stable.

Basically & suggest that you do NOT jump in as fast as I have unless you have some depth of previous experience.

My reviews re never long, this aquRIUM LOOKS GREAT. tHE ONLY DRAW BACK IN MY OPIONION IS THE FILTRATION, i HAD TO PUT IN ANOTHER FILTER IN THE AQUARIUM TO HELP THE Original..Thats all sorry for the capitalization issue, I am not going back to fix..

Hydor 75w Hydrokable Substrate Heater, 25' - for Aquariums 32-53 gal

This heater does at it is supposed to--heat via substrate. My big complaint is that it did not come with nearly enough suction cup attachments. I have a 55G tank and looping/winding the cable the way you're supposed to only half the tank was secured. It was basically impossible to find other suction cups for it. I had to order them from the company at a pretty ridiculous price--and even then predictably some of them didn't hold well. Fortunately they really only had to hold a couple minutes until I could get the sand/clay over it and then the weight of the substrate holds it down.

46 bow...with an internal heater working with it...78 is max temp. It is not adequate without assistance. If you want this as your main heater...try something else!

Like the title just stop. You do not have to think about this one any more just get it. The stand looks great. It was super easy to assemble (25) twenty five minutes tops. My tank was up and running in less then (45) minutes. The water proof coating absolutly great the water just bounces right off this is not your tipical coating that will wear off it will last a life time. Just get it.

I had a tough time finding an aquarium stand that would fit a more modern home. Most of the items readily available are much more traditional and would have looked out of place in our house.

Although this stand is anything but fancy, it certainly is minimalistic enough to not stand out in a negative way.

The stand is delivered disassembled in a flat box. I found the instructions to be straight-forward and logical. Assembling the piece was a breeze.

One of my concerns was whether this stand would truly be sturdy enough to hold a 90 gallon tank with decorations and everything else added. Once I had the stand at home, my doubts were quickly quieted. The stand is rather substantial and heavy.

You should note that the back is open there is space for three panels to be inserted but for easy of access, the design only requires the center panel as a support column. To the left and right of the center panel, the stand is completely open.

The two doors have magnetic holders that you push in order to release the doors. Thus far, I have had no problems with the mechanism it holds the door even if I just stuff items inside that end up resting against the door.

Since my stand sits on hardwood floors, I attached quite a few felt disks to the bottom of it around twenty or so. I was a bit worried how the stand would deal with it, but again, have not noticed any problems.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase especially for the price!

This stand is HEAVY (therefore very sturdy). I like the clean lines and the matte black finish. It blends well with our decor. The magnetic click doors work well. It is large enought to hold a big canister filter. The powder coating also makes it more resistent to water damage. My one wish is that it would include the option of adding a small shelf inside the stand on each end. It would be helpful for storing smaller items like chemicals.

There are plenty of complainers who seem to spend more because of selfmade problems to fix and I can only laugh at them. Flat out I have not read about anything that works better or lasts longer than epoxy putties. I had no need to look for anything better than epoxy putties! I used all colors Instant ocean Holdfast white, Oceanswonders purple coralline, Two little fishies stone grey and Coralline red and they all work the same so I was able to mix them for custom colors and or unique tints. My technique is simple I prepared the areas for epoxy bond by roughing up and drilling the bond surfaces for maximum grabification. The rest was simple one application and I dont think I ever had to bond anything twice. I am glad I am possibly the only one to leave a 5 star rating knowing I used the right products for my high end decor set up to acheive the most professional look and nothing McKey moused or McGyvered so it will last for many years unchanged. I built a professional show quality FOWLR aquarium with a 100% artificial reef and the decor is completely made using Natures image coral and Red sea deco art all custom displayed on custom made Alterra grey rocks I covered with coralline colors for then marine rock effect. Best of all knowing my entire decor has 0 impact on any ocean reef and is 100% eco friendly makes for great conversation and pride. The live rock and aragonite crystal white sand are cultured and all my fish are tank raised by USA breeders. The wonderful smell of farting out roses is not only bliss but also saves alot of money! The epoxy putties have the most god aweful stanky odor when you start but after it fully cures it is completely odorless and proven fish safe cured or not. Oh and dont forget to use gloves because it can irritate skin.

Easy to manipulate and take prey very fast, even underwater. Much easier to use than similar products! I recommend without a doubt.

It warned me on the package to turn off my skimmer because of excessive bubbles. They weren't kidding, even water in my filter sock was bubbling out. You don't see bubbles in the tank. Not a bad thing in that I can live with the protein skimmer turned off for 30 hours but just be aware of it. But you don't have much choice if you need to epoxy your frag plugs into your live rock. I ordered the grey because that was the only color avaialbe for Amazon's Prime (free shipping). Much cheaper than local fish store.

These are useless to hold corals in place but do have some value in gluing rocks together. However, you have to use a lot to get the rocks to stay put. The same stuff can be bought at the hardware store for less than 1/2 the cost. Super glue gel is a much better option for attaching corals and frag plugs.

This stuff isnt bad, but its like hard to use because it doesnt stick very well to surfaces without like noticeable pores. I have found that if you dip the putty into the water like half way through mixing it, it works better because its softer and its more workable

Lily glass pipes 9mm for aquarium + free sucker

I just received these in the mail and they are really good looking. For 18.00 (shipped) it's great.

I ordered the small (it's listed as lily pipe s) without realizing it, but luckily it is for my small 7 gallon tank.

I believe they have the large version pictured, so an accurate picture of the sizes would have been a little helpful.

The small (s) version comes with only one suction cup (when pictured as 2), and I was hoping it would come with 2, but I can live with it or just order some cheap clear ones off ebay.

I ordered these intending to use them with the EHEIM 2211 canister filter, and it doesn't look like this version of lily pipes is going to match the hoses that come with the filter.

a little more detail in the measurements in sizes would have been really helpful. So I will have to do some of my own testing of hose sizes from these to the EHEIM in order to confirm if it will work or not. I will definitely have to buy a different hose with a smaller diameter to fit these, though.

I will be ordering the Medium (m) sized lily pipes as they should be the perfect size for my 18 gallon tank.

I will definitely update this review once I have both.

The shipping wasn't extremely long, but it wasn't fast either. The packaging wasn't over the top (individually divided & bubble wrapped. No fragile or glass warning,) but it arrived in perfect condition, and you can't expect much coming from out of country, costing 18.00, and labeled in a different language

We are very disappointed with this product. We ordered it in December and it's already burned out.

Typically these lights last for over a year, although we replace them more frequently as recommended. This one burned out in only 4 months.

When we inspected the burned-out bulb more carefully, we could see how poorly this light was put together. It's not surprising how quickly it burned out.

This light is too expensive for the horrible quality. We've had many aquariums, both fresh and saltwater, for over a decade, and this is single-handedly the worst aquarium product we've ever purchased.

The bulb fit into the socket perfectly and puts out a lot of light. Pretty much does what it's supposed to do. Five stars.

This bulb works fine and I have had no problems with it. I am going to discontinue using the fixture just because it is outdated.

Excellent in bringing out iridescent colors in freshwater fish and for growing plants. I wasn't sure how this would pan out for a freshwater aquarium since the reviews I read discussed its use in saltwater set-ups, but I have to say I'm glad I took a chance with this 6700K lamp instead of going with the 10,000K "daylight" replacement lamp.

I am using the light on a 55 gallon hex aquarium with a canister filter system. I have a freshwater set-up with Discus, assorted tetras, swordtails, Chinese algae eaters, mickey mouse platys and several varieties of plants.

I've been using the lamp for a couple of months now and my plants are healthy and growing well. The fish seem comfortable with the intensity of the light and I have to say they look fantastic as the lamp really brings out their colors. When I replace this lamp I'll be purchasing another one just like it. What more can I say other than give it a try I'm confident you'll enjoy the results.

I have a uromastyx (if you couldn't tell from the title). While I use greens for her base, I like to sprinkle this on her food to make sure she is getting a good variety. Fluval U3 Underwater Filter Poly/Carbon

It's a filter, it fits and it works. I just wish the secondary filter were not attached to the chemical filter pad (just carbon like most filters). I have a planted tank. Having two physical filters is useful to remove algae while supplying light/CO2 to plants but the carbon pad will remove nutrient that the plants would like. The filter a VERY difficult to wash/rinse and is easily worn out of you try and remove any algae from either side of the pad. The foam pad can just me squeezed (like a sponge) to the waste water during water changes to remove excess algae but not these darn pads. Thus I'm removing a star for a bad design issue for planted tanks. It's like to be able to clean both the sponge and pad but simply remove the carbon filter and you can not do so with the U series. If anyone knows how to remove or deactivate the charcoal side please leave a comment. After a couple of months I had to give up and replace the filthy filter that lasted trough initial cycling.

I replace both polycarbon pads in the U3 filter every 3-4 weeks. Along with weekly partial water changes, it keeps the ammonia level down in my turtles tank and the water clear.

Aquatic Fundamentals Black Scroll Aquarium Stand

I have to change everything I said before and give a warning to anyone considering this stand--DO NOT BUY IT. Just go to petco's site and youll see all the reviews. I just spent 2 hours on the phone with petco telling them about my experience--which isnt unique.

Well, theres a pesky little problem you will encounter before even getting this tank done--Before I noted that the tank has holes for nuts to go through and be assembled. Well, I forced them in. BIG MISTAKE. Everything appeared fine. It just took, y/know, like 3 hours to get together.

Also, the braces that were included were wrong sized. They were just too short. Well, we left them off--no big deal. WRONG.

So, the tank just "wobbled" a little. Maybe it was just needing some weight to settle. At about 35 gallons in--we were right. It did "settle." Then...

I had to move the tank up a little and all we heard was *snap.* hmmm...We moved back, the stand was LEANING. it looked ready to fall right over. We emergency removed all the water, readjusted the tank, and tried again. It leaned even MORE.

This "wobble" is a flaw in the very structure. Ive contacted petco and Im praying they recall-and investigate who is making the stands and seeing to it they are safe. Unfortunately with such a large tank its not so easy to tell if something is structurally sound until you test it. I tested it, and it wasn't. Im telling you--this thing was inches away from not only cracking my tank-but killing my cat, my nephew--and me!

Yes, I assembled it as "right" as I could given the defects. Yes, my tank is set up correct. Even knowing it might be a defective batch--that is NEVER a risk I am willing to take again with this stand. Its pretty, but it just does not work. Theres too many reviews of "wobbliness" around for anyone who really cares about their tank or loved ones to even consider this product.

Dont make my mistake. Either invest in the manhattan for $5 more or check out diy projects.

EDIT-after getting into a HUGE tiff with Marco Group, Inc (product manufacturer) which led all the way up to a report to the CPSC, I can firmly say they will do absolutely ANYTHING to try and downplay complaints regarding this product. Don't fall for any baloney. I contacted them, and guess what? Instead of apologizing for the defects (which is really what I wanted) they denied anyone ever complained about it (though as I said, petco's reviews say different) and implied I was lying/wreckless (over the brace--Yes, stinks on me, I admitted this) so the story altogether wasn't valid. They even threw out that "they tested one and didn't have any issues with it." They never once made any effort to have the product returned to verify defects, but goodness, as soon as I tattle tailed, they just knew all about me!

So when this does collapse on you two years from now, all you will get is someone scrutinizing every single step you did or pointing to the expired warranty.

Very easy to assemble. Had a slight warp when assembled but a little pressure from the fish tank stabilized it. This product is exactly as the previous reviews explain.

the only thing i would change about this stand is i wish there was a lip on the top so the tank wont slide off, but other than that awesome product.

be warned... if not put together properlly it most likely wont hold anything at all... I love this stand... its nice but also scary at the same time... if i was you... id save up and get an expensive one.

Great product! It does exactly what it says it will do. If you have a large tank or two (like me), you may not have time to do the monthly water change. It's great to have this product to adjust the water so it won't be too acidic. If the water PH is incorrect, some fish might start losing some of their scales and grow pale. Then you add some Ph UP, the water gets milky white for a while... like it's a smoke inside the fishtank. That's ok. It means the product is working!

I have 2 65-gallon tanks so I rely on this water adjuster all the time. And it works fabulously! If only I could find an adjuster for my life to do the same...

Works exactly as they say it should. I added a few drops to a bucket of water and tested to see the PH go up before using in a fish tank to get an idea of how powerful it is. A few drops can go a long way actually.
