Whisper 10 won due to more air volume and slightly quieter than the Rena.

This filter is nearly dead silent. As far as I can tell it has no significant sound of it's own. I was ready to move the tank into a closet(or worse;) Tx to Bill at Rena for this great product.

When my one of my aquariums' air pump (Tetra 77851 Whisper Air Pump, 10-Gallon) started to get noisy (maybe of age), I ordered first the TOM Stellar Air Pump S-20 20gal to 30gal tank, thinking this product may be more quiet than Tetra, based on some reviews. Turned out to be so noisy. So I ordered now this Rena, as again, some reviewers said that this is the most quiet among all for the price. That didn't happen. It was by far as noisy as the other and had become so annoying. I just ordered another Tetra again and now I know among the 3, which one is truly the "whisper" type. Tom and Rena went to garbage instead of me wasting my time and effort for repacking them and return.

We have all seen sunken boats, ships, even submarines and they're cool.. if you're not a snobby naturalist. The same holds true for a sunken car, its just cool. The plants "growing" on the car are okay, not the best but not a deal breaker.

Pros: This light is the perfect size for my 3 gallon tank.

Cons: Doesn't work with light timer; bulb is not replaceable once it burns out; bulb only lasted about 4 months.

I am posting this review to let people know that there is no moonlight "adaptor". It uses a combination of blue and white LEDs. I was under the impression that I would be able to switch between the two lights, but that is not the case. There are only two settings, on and off.

I use it on a 29 gallon terrarium. The light reaches to all points of the tank that aren't blocked by something. It is strong enough to create shadows where tank decorations are in the way.

The clamp is not wide enough to fit on the rim of my tank. Included is a small piece of black plastic thingy that you can screw onto a surface and then clamp your light to it. I didn't want to screw anything into my tank, so I used gorilla glue to attach it to the outside top rim of my tank.

I am torn between a 3 and 4 star rating, because I AM able to see my terrarium at night. But the description about an adaptor is incorrect. Hence the 3 stars.

Great little light for my guppy bowl which is a 2 gallon giant brandy snifter. Few other lights had an option to accomodate so thin an edge. My aquarium plants are now thriving. The moonlight blue daylight combination enhanced the fish colors. One down side it the need to manually turn in off and on. I would prefer if it worked on a timer. But the fish have trained nicely to the light, that feeding time is at hand. Smooth transaction and prompt delivery.

I was also under the impression that there would be an adaptor to switch from white to blue LEDs for day or night lighting. Not the case! The blue & white lights come out looking very moonlight-ish to me.

The light is also much tinier than I expected. It only lights up about half of my 33 gal tank, so I wouldn't recommend it for tanks bigger than 15 gal. It fits up to 1/4" rim, so make sure you measure before purchasing! 1/4" inch is a TIGHT fit, so think about your positioning because it will be difficult to reposition afterwards.

If I had read the comment about the light bulb not being replaceable, I would have never bought this product. 30$ for four months of use is definitely not worth it. Next time I'm buying a regular desk lamp!

After having this pump working for 8 months now I have decided to order more and switch over my whispers to the fusions.

The Fusion 700 is the competitor to the Whisper 100. In terms of sound both pumps are quiet though over time my whispers tend to get louder and the diaphragm always goes to waste even if my airstones are regularly changed to prevent back pressure. The fusions pump however seems to be weaker than comparable models but the 100 does just fine in depths up to 24 inches. If you buy the 700 model and need to use it for a smaller tank, no problem simply turn down the pressure to your liking. Lastly diaphragms are cheap to replace if you ever need them compared to other pumps that seem to go out every 6 months

The shipping is super fast as usual. I think Amazon has the most efficience shipping method in the US right now. Their process time is amazing fast. Anyway, the air pump comes with a rather simple box and packaging with 1 manual instruction paper. It has a very good quality built to it, very good and sturdy material. All the surfaces and edges are smooth. It has two powerful air outlets and plenty of power for my 2 bubble walls. There is a control knob to adjust the flow rate which is very convenience for pretty for daily use. I'm very happy with this pump given its exceptional low price and quality. Oh the noise is almost none exist, too quiet I would say.

This pump puts out a good amount of air, but it will get extremely noisy after a while. This is because there is a rubber bushing that slips out of a plastic holder over time, causing one of the metal arms connected to the bellows to chatter against the hard plastic holder. Easy enough to fix by pushing it back up into the holder, but if you let this go on for too long the metal chattering against the plastic will saw the plastic holder off, leaving you with a permanently noisy pump with less airflow. Luckily I caught mine in time, and the metal arm only got about a third of the way down the plastic holder.

Use it about 3 months, Very quiet and like the adjust circulation very much. I only use it for a 24 inch bobble wall and I have to tune it down almost all the way. I know should get the 500 model instead but the 700 is only few dollar more. so i go for the bigger size in case for the expansion need. At night time i hardly hear the pump noise with low circulation setting, if i dial up to max, you can hear a bite, but all pump does that. Nice pump!

The JW Air pump is a product that is easy to use and seems like it's of good quality. It has dual outgoing air flows that are adjustable. You can use one or both of the air flows, and they can go from very slow to fast. I use this product for home brewing to provide aeration. The dual air flows allow me to provide oxygen to one or two different containers at the same time. The pump itself I think is real quiet, but that may be relative to how I use it. I don't know if it would be too loud if you had it going full blast 24 hours a day for a fish tank. I'm happy with the product and would buy it again.

I've purchased two of these over the course of 7 years. I replaced the first one I had after 6 years because the remote ballast died and it was more economical to buy a new tank than just a new hood. (JBJ swapped ballasts after some time which required a purchase of both the ballast and hood for older tanks.)

For a saltwater setup, this all-in-one tank is great. You can find third-party nano accessories (protein skimmer, uv light, etc.) and the lighting configuration makes for a bright, beautiful display. I've had zero leakage problems with both my original saltwater tank and the new replacement freshwater setup. The reason I knocked off a star is because replacement parts for the unit (light bulbs, pumps, and if necessary hoods), are not cheap. The good news is that it is unlikely you will have to replace these for some time.

If you're just starting out or are experienced and want a clean nano setup, this is a great tank. Highly recommend.

Edit: Note that if you want to use this tank for freshwater setups, you should swap the bulbs out for something with less intensity, like LED striplights.

I had this tank for about 4 months when it cracked and leaked rushing water all over my floor. It cracked along the front curve of the tank from top to bottom for no reason whatsoever, and at 1 am! Ordered this light for a 5 gallon Marineland corner aquarium.

Pro: The light is a nice color that accentuated the colors of my fish and decorations.

Con: Very short life span. I had this light for five months and used it about twice a week for a couple hours (my aquarium gets sunlight most days). It has already burned out. I'm pretty upset that it lasted such a short time, especially because of its cost.

The original light that came with the aquarium lasted a few years, so I'm not sure why the same company didn't provide equal quality for their replacements.

I live in Montana, so most of the time my dog(Australian shepard) is playing in the water, its in a river. I used to just throw sticks, but between the brown sticks only being a slightly different color than the water in the river and the moving water throwing sun reflections in his face, my dog usually had a difficult time keeping track of the stick he was after before some current took it. I bought this toy without any real expectations but figured I'd give it a try, and I have to say i'm pretty impressed. Every time I throw it, he knows exactly where it is at all times, so it must be pretty visible to dogs. As to the guy who complained in an earlier review about its toughness, I will say this. This is a fetch stick, not a chewtoy. It probably wouldn't stand up to any normal sized dog tearing at it to rip it open, however if your dog is well trained and knows the difference between a fetch toy and a chew toy then there is no problem. I'd definitely buy this again, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a water toy for their dog.

This is an Excellent toy. It really grabs his (Lake-land Terrier) attention and I recommend this to any dog who can`t go 2 days without destroying a toy as it lasts and lasts. Even the small parts which he tugs and pulls don`t come off; great for tussling with and definitely fetching. I have two dogs one is 45 pounds and the other is 30 pounds this toy isn't for dogs this size. my dogs do not typically rip apart toys but this one is so flimsy that it was trash in 30 mins.

I would say if you have a toy breed or a tea cup breed this toy would be for you but if you have a 20 pound dog or more buy something else.

Instead what I received was standard fish gravel that had been sloppily colored black. Since it's kinda last minute I'll have to make it work for my favors, but I believe the product is very misrepresented. If I had known this was fish gravel, I would have driven up to the store and bought it there myself instead of wasting my money on shipping a massive amount of fish rocks.

Gravel arrived in a timely manner and in good condition from seller. I am pleased with the size of the gravel as it is not too fine and not too coarse for the aquarium I am setting up for my goldfish. Each grain of gravel is in the range of size of a coffee bean or slightly smaller. I've heard that if the gravel is too fine, the goldfish sometimes mistakenly eat the gravel since they like to "forage" for their food from time to time. However, I also heard that if the gravel is too coarse, then it provides less surface area for "good bacteria" to develop. So, I think I've found a good size to work with and I am pleased with purchase. I bought 3 bags total in black for my modest 6 gallon aquarium. I bought a bag of this at my local Petco store and from the day I put my aquarium together, I knew I wasted my money. It's hard to see while still in the bag, but before you start using it the paint is already coming off. This is really bad because the synthetic material underneath is white. Being under water makes it look even worse. I left this in the tank for three months because I hate the thought of wasting my money and I was hoping is wouldnt get any worse. It did. During the few months I had it, my water was always cloudy with no chemical imbalances. and when I noticed the gravel was still losing paint, I decided enough was enough. After three months I replaced it with a new bag I got from my locally owned pet store. I think the brand was "Estes'" or something like that. Ever since then, my water has been so clear I can't even tell it's there.

I love the jet black as gravel color. It makes my aqua-scaping and fish POP. The green of my plants looks brighter and my fish also seem brighter. I also like that uneaten food is highly visible for removal after feedings. My only warning it that I had to rinse this stuff until I was blue in the face. When I first thought I was done, I began adding water to my 30 gallon and my water turned dusty black. I had to start all over again.

Also, speaking of plants. the size of this gravel has been perfect for my Anubias, Amazon sword, and two other live plants to grow roots in. When I move the plants to vacuum the gravel a golf ball sized chuck of gravel stays with the roots. But if need be, the gravel is larger enough to easily remove from roots without damaging them (Like if you were going to move the plant into a tank with a different gravel color, or a cichlid tank with sand).

I certainly recommend this product.

My son's fish tank has never had so much algae since we switched to using this type of filter. There's no 'frame' surrounding the sponge to keep it in place and on top of that, it's made of two separate pieces that are not even connected together and you have to fiddle with it over and over to get it to stay in place. Even then, it still can move around or even dislodge completely. These have to be replaced constantly, nearly every week. I would strongly suggest looking into something that's made better and more substantially.

Marineland Visi-Therm Aquarium Heater

I was very skeptical getting this heater at first. Because first off, there were no reviews regarding this ANYWHERE. So I kinda took a shot in the dark buying this one after searching hours for a heater for my 2 gallon aquarium.

It may be more expensive than other heaters for small aquariums but so far.... I think it's worth it.

It's getting the job done. I love how it doesn't look tacky in my aquarium (I was worried it would look really bulky) but it blended in just fine. It has it's own holder (so you don't have to worry about it dangling in the aquarium like a rabid lizard) And my Betta fish loves it :) He's currently "resting" underneath it.

And I love how you can adjust the water temperature by actually seeing NUMBERS. Other heaters let you control the water temperature blindly and making you unplug it when the water gets too hot (which in my opinion, is fish murder). This heater has an automatic switch so it turns of by itself when it gets to the desired water temperature.

Safe to say, SO FAR, this is the best heater I've had. =)

After a year, I decided that my previous heaters the Hydor mini heaters were not adequate for my bettas due to the fact that they never got their water to the proper temperatures. They only heated their tanks just a few degrees higher than what the temperature in my apartment. After much research, I ended up buying four of the Visi-Therm Deluxe Submersible Heaters 25W for my four boys so I could be able to regulate the temperature settings. After a brief trial and error with the temperature settings, I finally got my boys' tanks at a temperature of warm and toasty or what it should be for betta splendens (i.e somewhere between 78 to 82 degrees). I had a bit of a struggle getting the suction cups to attached to the heater but evenutally I did. I like that the light will go on notifying me when the heater is on, and turns off when the temperature of the water is near being too warm. Because Ra's temperature was only at 69-70 degrees with his Hydor Mini heater, my little boy was cold. When I put in the Visi-Therm and brought back the temperature to over 75 degrees, Ra started making bubble nests again. I definitely will never go back to using a heater where I can not control the temperature. After a couple of months of owning the Visi-Therm Deluxe 25 heater, they are still working properly for me. I have read horror stories about this particular heater but from my personal experience, they have not malfunctioned.

I had a marineland Visi therm heater in my marine aquarium and for no reason the glass on it cracked. The heater was in a water level controlled sump where it was never in contact with moving objects of fish so user error is NOT an issue here.

A large section of glass simply "fell" off and exposed all the live coils to the water. The heater smoked and stunk the entire room out.

Everything in my tank was electrocuted to death instantly and I am now out hundreds of dollars in livestock.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy this product.

TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS HEATER:

I have had this heater for about 5 months now. It worked great for that period of time but today I came home after being out of town overnight and the temperature in my tank was a whopping 91º!!!!! As this is a saltwater aquarium, everything survived....LUCKILY!!! You may have different luck with this heater than I did but be warned that the thermostat may just decide to stop working and cook your fish while you sleep!

I originally had a 50W Marineland Stealth Pro, which has worked perfectly in 6G Fluval Edge with a nice design small and dark to blend in with the plants in the back, and a clear dial and pilot light at the top and not in the tank, where it distracts. That one was recalled due to explosion and fire hazard, and unfortunately has not been reissued.

As a replacement, Marineland sent a Visi-Therm of equal power. It has a more obtrusive design making it harder to hide, and a bright pilot light very obvious at night. But it initially worked ok.

However, after a couple of months it failed open, and the tank started cooling. I caught it right away, and did not lose anything. And this is better than exploding and blowing the tank out.

Disappointing nevertheless...

My brother had the opposite experience with this heater losing his fish due to a thermal run away.

I think, I am done with Marineland.

I love this aquarium. I am a fish lover and have various tanks in my house. I saw this and thought this is definitely something differnt, not only in looks but in function. The set up was easy, just hang it on your wall and add water and fish. There is a control panel on the side that maintains all the components, filtration, airflow, etc. We have it in out foyer so people see it right when they come in. We've gotten so many positive comments and even our friends have purchased a couple!!

I ordered the tank with the silver frame to match our stainless equipment in our kitchen and it looks great! I actually received the aquarium the next day! Set up was a little bit of a challenge as the depth is only 3 3/8" inches on the inside on the tank and I put a couple of plants and a piece of driftwood ( found me a few pieces of African driftwood with a depth of less than 3 3/8", terrific selection and excellent prices too). I originally put substrate (for shrimp) over a mesh covering the semi open bottom and the aquarium was overtaxed and became violently ill. I remedied the problem by slowly taking everything out and replacing the substrate with gravel and it works great now. The tank is very well designed and thought out and it comes with a net, cleaner pad on a pole, gravel (white), a mechanically manipulated mini grabber and everything you need except fish. Well written instruction manual with company phone number and a problem section which got me through the subsrtate problem. It's only been up for two days so I'll write an addendum if there are any problems. Jody Koval

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Grass Lawn Artificial Landscape, Green

I purchased this to use as a table covering for a safari party. It worked very well for our purposes as a dessert table covering. The price for these was much better than the cost of the grass place mats that are actually sold as party decor. These are also much larger than the small squares they also sell.

These are very nice. The grass doesn't look terribly realistic like something you would place on your lawn, however I think if it were in a fish tank as it was intended to be used it would look very realistic. The grass tufts seem to stay on well, and we had no problems with any of them falling off so the quality seems good too. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again, and am thinking about purchasing the other style for another party I'm doing.

I feel bad giving it a 2 star, as others may find that it was exactly what they were looking for. I brought it for a fairy garden, frankly the gaps between the 'grass' is too big and it is too 'plasticky'. Do not think this will look like a lush lawn, because it most certainly does not!!

Having said that some highly coloured potted plants look pretty on it on the shed window shelf.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the grass "tufts" come off rather easily. Not so much so that they are just flying off, but I would appreciate it if they had a little more resistance.

This item is a must have for fish guys installing UV, Ozone, plumbing and wet and dry filters. without this, there is noway to tell the water flow rate at all.

We recently installed a UV sterilizer in our 135 gallon saltwater tank. In order to be effective in controlling algae/parasites, the flow through it has to be within a certain range. Not many options out there for monitoring water flow(GPM)on aquarium filters....this little gem is worth it's weight in gold.

Very inexpensive yet works as advertised.

3/4" hose barb fittings on each end or if you remove these adapters you have 3/4" MPT (male pipe thread) to add your own fittings.

I transitioned to 1/2" hose barbs due to my tubing sizing from my Marineland C-220 canister filter that feeds this flow meter.

These are vital for monitoring flow rate for UV sterilizers......that's what I'm doing.

By adding a simple valve to the output you can control the flow rate to exactly what you need.

I rate this item top notch for it price and performance.

Easy to clean out also due to it's screw off cap.

While this does do its job the limited flow rating on it is a big con. The cheap price and good construction make it worth while if its within your desired flow rate.

I don't use this for an aquarium, so my comments might not apply to your situation, I use this with garden hoses and that is the trouble. The fittings are not hose threads, they are pipe threads. The supplied barbs would work to splice into a hose, but they are too big for common 3/4 and 5/8 inch garden hose. I found some smaller barbs with big enough flanges to work with the ring nuts on this thing, so I'm good, but it was a hassle. Accuracy is good enough for my needs.

It's a filter, it fits and it works. I just wish the secondary filter were not attached to the chemical filter pad (just carbon like most filters). I have a planted tank. Having two physical filters is useful to remove algae while supplying light/CO2 to plants but the carbon pad will remove nutrient that the plants would like. The filter a VERY difficult to wash/rinse and is easily worn out of you try and remove any algae from either side of the pad. The foam pad can just me squeezed (like a sponge) to the waste water during water changes to remove excess algae but not these darn pads. Thus I'm removing a star for a bad design issue for planted tanks. It's like to be able to clean both the sponge and pad but simply remove the carbon filter and you can not do so with the U series. If anyone knows how to remove or deactivate the charcoal side please leave a comment. After a couple of months I had to give up and replace the filthy filter that lasted trough initial cycling.

I replace both polycarbon pads in the U3 filter every 3-4 weeks. Along with weekly partial water changes, it keeps the ammonia level down in my turtles tank and the water clear.

This is hands down the best food on the market. There is simply nothing better available for Oscars. I fed this to my Oscar. It lived to 12 years 3 months (RIP), was over 13.5" and well over a pound and a half when it passed. The clay covering makes a tremendous difference in water quality and the fish's color quality. I assume it aids digestion, since wild fish spend lots of their time digging food out of the dirt. I have used just about every Oscar food available and no other food produces as little waste as this--which keeps the water cleaner and the fish happier. I would think that the clay is an essential part of a fish's diet that is often lost in an aquarium. I have tried other foods recently with my new fish and once it ate this, anything else gets spit out or spilled from its gills. You will not be disappointed with this food.
