Aquatic Life Light T5 HO 4-Lamp 2-Lunar Aquarium Light, 30-Inch

Aquatic Life Light T5 HO 4-Lamp 2-Lunar Aquarium Light, 30-InchI am using this light with a planted fresh water tank and it puts out a lot of light. The instructions are easy to understand and the programming pretty intuitive--it is about as good as it gets. The fixture is easy to mount, and sits securely on the tank. It comes with some bulbs that for freshwater purposes need to be replaced.

It is a top notch unit and for my purposes is essentially flawless. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Big Al's shipping was fast and efficient.

Addendum:

It is now a little over a year since the light was purchased. Two weeks ago, I noticed some problems with the LED light and two of the four Lamps. I called Aquatic Life's customer service and they were wonderful--they diagnosed the problems and promised a replacement ballast and two LEDs. Even though it was past the warranty period, they did not charge me and I received the parts in less than one week. Very impressed with them.

Very nice light. I wish it pivoted up and down so I didn't have to lift the light off of my tank all the time. The Aquaticlife bulbs that it comes with are nice, but if you really want to make your tank look awesome and give those corals the look that will impress, then go with this combo.

3-ATI Blue +

1-ATI Aquablue Special

I've had this light for around 3 months now and it does exactly what I need it to do. I have SPS, LPS and Softies growing like crazy under this fixture.

The ATI Aquablue Special has better PAR than the Aquaticlife 10K this fixture comes with. At the very least switch out the 10k bulb. You won't regret it.

Some componenets inside were loose. The transformer inside and the tube end plugs were also loose. Design makes it easy to fix but should have been checked at the factory. Design and light output is very excellent.

I have had this light for a few weeks now. I have noticed a complete change in the life of my salt water tank. Corals are perky and showing steady growth along with invertebrates staying active all day long. I really like the lunar lights for the evening hours. It gives you a beautiful tank 24 hours a day.

biOrb Service Kit

biOrb Service KitI have ordered this product before with no problems. in fact, it worked great every time... except this last time. The filter works great but the solutions included did not. it said "new improved algae control" & said that it may be cloudy at first but will clear up. It has the worst algae control, the algae came back in a few days and got progressively worse in just a week or two compared to months before. The "cloudiness" from the solution was terrible and took almost 2 days to clear instead of a few hours as stated on the package. I had to use the included solutions since I added a good amount of water after cleaning it. My fish is fine but I was disappointed at the whole result. I did not move the tank, nor changed any of the lighting in the room so I am not sure what the problem was but I have never seen that "cloudiness" before when using the included solutions. I cannot purchase this filter from the store any longer so I will have to order again through amazon. I think I may just not use the solution since the filter works great but wonder why that happened?

This was a terrific value and it hleps having the extras on hand since I never seemed to have any filters when I really needed them.

Love my biorb tank. I have the 16 gallon, and these service kits are wonderful. I have not found any in stores near me, and am glad they are available here on amazon, and hope that they continue to be. I just do a 1/3 water change, change the filter and am good to go. I change the filter about every 8 weeks. If it becomes super dirty earlier, I just rinse it off, and put it back in...does the trick.

Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) AKD37444 Malachite for Aquarium, 4-Ounce, Green

Kordon/Oasis AKD37444 Malachite for Aquarium, 4-Ounce, GreenI tried several other treatments for ich and this worked the best. It also, had the lowest price. I would recommend using an antiseptic with this. It seems strong, but it works pretty fast!!

I bought this to use as a diluted solution to treat fungal infections in a few rescued poison dart frogs.

It seemed to be of fine quality, and worked perfectly well. I would purchase it again, though I likely won't need to for a long timeif you are using this to soak amphibians, a little goes a very long way!

Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for Aquarium

Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for AquariumThis is WAY too small. Despite common misconceptions, bettas do NOT like to be kept in tiny containers. They do NOT live in small puddles their entire lives. They live in rice paddies that are flooded in the rainy season and slowly dry up. Bettas have adapted to survive in shallow water, but will not thrive in a cup.

Ammonia will build up quickly in a container like this. Also, the temperature will fluctuate. Bettas need clean fresh water and a stable tropical temperature. Failing to meet these needs will result in illness and eventually death.

If you want to keep a betta, there are many wonderful online resources. Do some research before you buy one of these amazing creatures!

All I have to say is, if you are heartless enough to consider keeping a betta in this, save yourself the shipping and handling and put it in a 2liter soda bottle. I'm sure it would have more space to swim in that than in this.

Buy Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for Aquarium Now

Don't buy this tank! I bought one and it was small. It also LEAKED and almost killed my fish. Luckily I put water back in it and the fish survived for now and I'm awaiting for them to fully recover. This is the most horrible design of a tank and needs to be recalled and fixed. The water stopper at the bottom can get a miniature fracture in it that you cant see because the whole stopper is black and can start leaking water overnight. My heart almost stopped to see the fishies trying to survive on the bottom of the tank. I would stay away from this tank as you can see from all the reviews.

Read Best Reviews of Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for Aquarium Here

Are you people who buy this thing blind? In the picture you can plainly see that poor fish is cramped! All it can doo is swim around in a tiny circle around that sharp plant, dragging his delicate silk like fins across it's sharp points! That picture is fake anyway, any betta who had to live in that bowl would never flare his fins out even that far! He would clamp them to his body to provect them from the plant and save some space! How would you seriously like to live in a closet with a big coat rack with sharp edges in the middle? I am not being over dramatic, this "tank" (cup) is the most horrible thing you could do to a fish! I had this once and I QUICKLY rehomed my poor fish (as in I dropped him in and pulled him right back out!) I bought him a 2 gallon fish bowl with a under ground filter. People always complain that bettas don't live long and they are too fragile, well, I have seen betta's kept in 5 gallon tanks with filtration systems and daily feeding of high qualtity betta food and bloodworks live for 10 years or longer!!! and they never got sick! If you care at all about your fish, you will at LEAST get a simple 1 gallon kit with an under gravel filter, they sell very cheap depending on where you go, as low as 11 dollars at Walmart! Please don't torture your fish! you would never imagine putting your ferret or cat or dog in a hamster cage, would you?

Want Penn Plax Twin Beta Bow-Front Kit for Aquarium Discount?

I am actually glad to see there are this many people against this aweful sham of a betta "home". This is just plain outrageous. Sure a betta CAN survive in something this small, but a human CAN survive living in a closet. Would you want to though? Well neither does your betta!

And the Silica gravel stuff at the bottom...wow, just, wow...they print "Do Not Eat" on the little packages of Silica for a reason! (you know the ones they put in new shoes to absorb moisture) It amazes me that some people think thats safe to put in with a LIVE ANIMAL!!!

JW Pet Company Aquarium Acrylic Scrubbing Pad

JW Pet Company Aquarium Acrylic Scrubbing PadA long time hobbyist of 35+ years it seems the battle against Algae is one that will rage on indefinitely. This scrubber is excellent. Thick and coarse spun nylon makes removal of both green and brown algae as effortless as it can be. The scrubber is perfect for the sides and bottom and equally effective in edges for corners and those hard to reach places.

Acrylic tanks are gorgeous but as you already know they scratch easily I've never had a problem using these, just always make sure to never use the pad on dry acrylic above the water line.

A few of my tanks get indirect sunlight so for those it's a weekly effort and I keep lots of these and the smaller single pads on hand, It's important especially if you keep a variety of different species in separate aquariums to avoid cross contamination and the Lee's line of scrubbers for both glass and acrylic are affordable enough for each tank to have a dedicated set.

Cross contamination has long been linked to toxic tank syndrome which can wipe out your tank in 24 hours, so best to have gear that's dedicated to one specific tank.

AQUABELLA Fresh Water Treatment

AQUABELLA Fresh Water TreatmentI have been keeping aquariums for many years and have always been leery of additives of any kind. Several months ago I started a new 90 gallon freshwater tank and have had troubles with cloudy water for most of that time. I am running a 90 gallon sump with 20 gallons of bio media as well as 2 canister filters (for mechanical filtration). Still I was unable to get the tank to clear up.

After researching this product for several days, I decided to pull the trigger and ordered it for my freshwater and my reef tank. I have not yet seen any improvement in my reef tank, but my freshwater system has been transformed. I am now on day 3 of the treatment and the tank had already cleared considerably after only 2 treatments, even though it states that it is good for aquariums up to 55 gallons. I am VERY impressed the effectiveness of this product. The jury is still out on not having to do water changes for a year and I don't plan on putting it to the test.

This product has made a world of difference in my tank and I will definitely but more in the future.

Fed up with grubby fish tanks and the smell the kids always promised to clean it out but guess what...

I noticed the guarantee offered by Aquabella on […] and bought some.

I normally clean this tank weekly I haven't cleaned it for 2 months.

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I want to see it work for a year.

The tank is bright and the fish are happy I don't know how it works but it does.

I've been an aquarist for many years. I haven't noticed any big improvement in water quality or reduced need for water changes, either, after using this product as directed. Not sure I'd use it again, but it didn't hurt anything, either. Maybe the fact that my tank has a lot of plants in it has something to do with it.

I first used Aqua Bella over a year ago in my 10 Gallon fresh water tank. Murky water and algae took over the tank. The Aquabella treatment really worked great. The entire tank cleared up, and never reoccurred...until I moved and switched all the water out! So I am now ordering my second treatment!

Novaqua Plus Water Conditioner

Kordon NovAqua Water Conditioner, 8-OunceI have to top off my Nanocube periodically and this is a great product for treating tap water... I've never had trouble with my tank chemistry while using this, and it really does a great job of binding with the chlorine and other chemicals and making the water safe...

Nova Aqua has other uses besides being an aquarium water conditioner. I use it to take the chlorine out of my swimming gear after water aerobics three days a week. Pop it in the washer with mild detergent and it helps keep the chlorine from fading your suit making them last a WHOLE LOT longer. :) I am sure it is also great for fish tanks.

Buy Novaqua Plus Water Conditioner Now

I interrupted the nitrogen cycle in my 55 gallon tank when I took out the under gravel filter and replaced it with a Fluval 305 canister filter with all new bio media. Needless to say I have over a dozen of my prize angelfish in the tank. Using NovAqua Plus and Amquel Plus along with frequent partial water changes to keep ammonia levels down during the re-cycling of the tank has not only worked, but the fish are growing like beasts and very, very healthy! This stuff is amazing. There hasn't been a single casualty, not a single sick fish, not even a stressed fish in the tank since I started using it! That says quite a lot especially considering we are talking about angelfish AND a tank that is still cycling! I would use this even with RO water. It is great... it not only removes chloramine and chlorine, but it also helps the fish with their slime coat AND the beneficial bacteria colony as well.

When I first started keeping goldfish, I mysteriously lost several fish. I know now I was making all kinds of mistakes common to amateurs. One mistake I made was to assume that all water treatments that claimed to make tap water safe would do the trick. After several of my kiddos died, I asked for help from the owner of my local pet store. This is not a Petco or a Petsmart, but a real mom-and-pop place. The owners really care about their animals.

The store owner told me that years ago when he was first starting out, his fish kept dying. He had a water sample tested independently, and the tester advised him that our local tap water was the second worst water sample he had ever tested. The pet store owner advised me to use Amquel Plus along with NovAqua. Since I have been using these products, I have lost no fish. Since moving to a different place (one with better water quality, I am happy to report), I have continued to use these products as they have been perfectly effective and reliable. During the move, in fact, my fantails became extremely stressed and began to show signs of "popeye." I gave them an extra dose of the NovAqua along with a wee bit of aquarium salt, and their condition cleared up quickly.

Take it from me: this product really works!

Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System

Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration SystemLike most of you, I did a lot of research before I choose a filter. I have a saltwater 90 gal tank and has been going for three years. I won't get into what kind of filtration I had, but I needed to clean up the green haze in the water. I was not to fond of canister filters because of all the mess you have to go thru, but the Fluval G3 caught my eye. So, after hours of reading all that was available, AND reading all the reviews, I choose the G3. It arrived in two days and well packaged. I had downloaded the instructions on-line and carefully read them. BUT, the best thing I did was to go on YOU-TUBE and watch three vids on the installation of the filter. Before I started with the installation, I did a complete cleaning of the tank along with the standard water change. It was a mess. This would be a challange for ANY filter to take on this project. OK, here we go. I started at 3 pm and was ready to plug it in at 4:45PM. After reading a few reviews about a few problems with the PUSH BULB, I was a bit nervous, BUT I pushed it in a few times, saw the air bubbles come out the return, and plugged it it. AND ..... WALLA. It worked the first time, and with 100% flow. Impressive. I was going to write this review right away, but thought i'd wait for a few days to see if there were any issues. When I got up in the morning, the tank was CRYSTAL CLEAR. I was impressed. Its been four days now and the screen shows a small dip in the water flow. So, I said what the heck, lets pull the filter and clean it. I shut down the filter, lifted the handle, pulled the filter, cleaned it out, put it back into the G3, closed the handle, pumped the button two or three times, and plugged it back in. PRESTO, its back working again with NO mess. Pretty sharp if you ask me. My tank was a mess when installed the G3, so in the four days its been running, I expected to clean the filter sooner than later. Its going to be interesting to see how far the next will take me. OH YEA -The G3 is way quiet, my computer makes more noise than the filter. Am I happy with my decision??? You bet. Good luck in your quest for your next filter. The G3 has been a fine purchase for me.

I've been in the hobby more than 2 decades, and changing canister filters was always a PIA. No more. This little gem makes it easy easy easy, and DRY with its ingenious engineering. Plus, it offers a lots of add-on filter medium options, with 100% flow through. Add to that the cool built in computer read out that tracks with an easy to read line chart over the days the temp, ec, and flow rate flucuations and! blinks to alert you when the temp or ec falls above or below entered ranges... Well, nothing compares to it. My only regret is that it took so long for a company to finally figure out how to make a really good canister filter.

Buy Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System Now

There's no doubt this filter clearly stands alone as the best filter on the market. The three complaints I've read are cost, flow rate and the pre-filter clogging after days of operation. The first, we'll it's been several years now since release and the cost has come down considerably and it's now cheaper than an Eheim Pro 3e and IMHO a better filter when you compare the prefilter option of foam vs Fine polishing media. Flow rate, Hagen's responded to this and claims its superior when you actually consider loaded flow rate, not just what a motor can pump. With regards to the filter clogging, think about it. Muck that was in your tank is now in the filter where it should be. On the other now antiquated filters out there maintenance, if they actually were trapping it, would be a pain, on this filter it's a 2 minute swap with a new pre-filter or 5 minute clean and replace if you prefer. I have a 46G Bow front with 4 African jack Dempseys and do find I need to clean the pre-filter every two weeks to maintain 100% flow rate. The flow rate graph is really nice for letting you know when to do maintenance, there's also programmable schedules for each media to help track and each with optional alert.

Easy maintenance is a key feature, but it's also allows you to quickly changes out your chemical filter to meet a specific condition. Algae starting to take foot, grab your phosphate filter and run it for a few days, nitrate to high grab the nitrate filter. Maintain them all with the triflex filter or use the optional replaceable media filter to use the media of your choice.

EC, time will tell but for now I'll take some indicator over the alternative of no indicator.

The lady that had a priming issue... make sure you prime before you plug it in..it makes ALL the difference as stated in the manual. Priming never been a problem for me, only takes two pumps. She either has a defective unit or didn't read the manual.

On the negative side I'm not thrilled with the suction cup intake and output tube fixtures. I have a film backing on my tank which precludes use of the rear suction cups and I don't want to cut it. I actually found reversing the clamp and putting the large plastic piece in the inside of the tank provides a more stable mount considering only one suction cup is used. I'd also prefer the output y-adapter to be a T-adapter if you planned to use the spray attachment. BTW, the filter comes with the nozzles attached to the y-dapter, you simply pull them off and push on the spray bars or you could have one nozzle and one spraybar if you like. You can get an inline alignment but it would work a bit better with a T then a Y. Both of these are really minor complaints, but they're the only negatives I have. I simply love this filter, it's made fish keeping a joy and a bit more fun as well.

Read Best Reviews of Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System Here

-The G3 is an amazing filter. It is by far the easiest canister to maintain as the cartridges are removed and cleaned w/o even getting your hands wet w/ the brush.

-Dead quiet, and I mean it. You will not even be able to hear it running unless you stick your ear to it.

-LCD screen provides useful information as temp & conductivity, plus reminds you when its time for maintenance.

-Lots of included bio-media (G-nodes)

-Flow is stronger than you think, don't go by just the GPH. I would recommend this filter up to a 55 gallon max. by itself.

-Separate cartridges are sold, such as the Nitrate cartridge which is supposed to help lower and maintain nitrate.

The only thing I will say is that the intake tube isn't that strong, so in terms of picking up waste, it isnt that great by itself. However, an easy solution would be to add a powerhead (I used the aquaclear 50), and it really helps push the waste on the floor into the intake.

Before I purchased the G3, I was comparing/researching numerous amounts of canister filters.

The main problem that seems to be pretty common with many canisters (including some fluval products) is leaking.

The G3 is near impossible to leak, and it is sealed tight.

Just add a powerhead and this will be one the best and high-tech filters you've had.

Want Fluval G3 Advanced Filtration System Discount?

I have bought two of these filters, the pump failed on one within six months, and the other is limping along until I can find a replacement. Forget about customer service, it's designed to make you give up trying. The pumps are a nightmare to prime, sometimes it takes more than an hour pushing the priming button and reseting the filter by uplugging it again and again before the "microprocessor controlled" pump decides to work. I have had to disassemble the pump probably more than two dozen times when the filter inexplicably shuts down and a "Check Impeller Rotor" message comes up, and yet nothing appears to be amiss. That's followed by the usual priming nightmare. In fact, getting the filter primed is such an unpleasent experience, you are reluctant to clean it. What fun! Then the delecate plastic "ears" on the mechanical filter snap off without any mishandeling, and it really doesn't keep the water that clean anyway. To all this is added the fact that the GPM is seriously overrated; I am sure it doesn't aproach half of what's advertzed.

The Fluval G3 is a clever concept, very, very poorly executed. Beware! Whay pay twice what other pumps cost for that? I never will again.

I have used it since came out, took to much water out, fish started stressing, found this and 24 hours they were back to normal...Love it!!!

I'm in the process of cycling an aquarium and this stuff works great at helping to keep ammonia levels from exploding. That being said, you can probably expect to use the whole bottle or more before the aquarium completely cycles. I wouldn't worry about using it liberally either. So far I haven't lost a fish despite adding them before cycling even began. So this can help to better manage the situation when used in conjunction with frequent water changes.

Hydor Hydroset Electronic External Thermostat with Temp Dial for All Heater Types

Hydor Hydroset Electronic External Thermostat with Temp Dial for All Heater TypesI love love love this product with the heater cable from Hydor. This is my new favorite company. I have not yet found a product that I am not thrilled with. Ok to this heater regulator for the cables. I love the cable heating concept and have it in use with this temp regulator for 2 years now. I have not touched the dial since I first set it up. It is still dead on accurate and working well the cables under the sand in my planted 15 gallon freshwater tank. I would not and did not hesitate to buy this product again so it is also now in an 8 gallon saltwater tank. No fluctuations and working fine. Yes, I do have a thermometer to refer to so I know it is working well. As with any thermometer controlled device, you need to acclimate it to your room temperature before putting it into use, then set it to desired temperature. After checking what temp it is producing adjust if needed then leave it alone. I have not needed to touch it or adjust it in two years.

I have this thermostat with the hydor cable in my little ten gallon. The dial is really not very accurate, I nudge it one way or the other every now and then, trying to get it to balance out. While I know it's working from the thermometer in my tank, the thermostat itself does not communicate the temperature, and I often find myself turning up the temperature just to see it kick on so I know it's working. The only thing I like about this is that you don't see it, and my plants really appriciate the cable under their roots. I am going to be looking for something that gives me a feeling of more control for my next tank, though. It not bad, if you're willing to trust something you can't really see!

LEDwholesalers 2501W+B Blue/White 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt

LEDwholesalers 2501W+B Blue/White 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 VoltI really wanted to like this light. I was hoping it would at least work as a supplemental light for 2 65w compact fluorescent bulbs. It was not even close to what I expected. Visually the light is very blue, like an actinic bulb. The brightness is not even equivalent to a 9 watt compact fluorescent. LED Wholesalers has no business labeling this light as an "aquarium light". I am returning it ASAP.

does not give enouph light for photosynthesis.

I had it 10 inches from chaeto and mangroves and they started to die.

Any other light had better results.

This one is bright, but totally useless for plants.

I bought this panel for my saltwater fish tank and even though it has 225 LED's but it is not bright enough because they are not SMD's type LED. However, it is suitable for fresh water tank.

This reminds me of light bright from the 80's. It is not bright at all. My 1 buld LED flashlight is much brighter. I was going to use it for FOWLR tank but the light will not even penetrate 3" into the water. This is in no way an aquarium light as advertised. LED Wholesalers makes you pay return shipping on returns so there is no point in returning this cheap light. I would recommend staying away from this light.

biOrb Easy Plant - 2 Pack Small

biOrb Easy Plant - 2 Pack SmallI love the easy plant 2 pack for my Beta fish. He loves to hide in them and sleep. These need replacing after

6 months because they become kind of slimy and moldy. However, I love this product.

These are a really nice addition to our tank. The look very well made. I might add that they are much darker than pictured.

Some aquarium plants tend to look cheap but these are so nice and really look lifelike in my baby bio orb. I've had them almost a year and have taken them out a few times and washed them off and that's all they need. Nice and low maintenance, just the kind of plants I like. :)

It really could work for you if you don't care too much about details. Unfortunately for me, I do, and these plants had random black ink marks printed in the wrong areas. It looks really messed up. Especially the thicker plant. So, I went and bought some simple live plants. Beautiful, natural, and look much better than these neon green fakes.

CICHLID COLOR SUP FLOATING

CICHLID COLOR SUP FLOATINGThis is hands down the best food on the market. There is simply nothing better available for Oscars. I fed this to my Oscar. It lived to 12 years 3 months (RIP), was over 13.5" and well over a pound and a half when it passed. The clay covering makes a tremendous difference in water quality and the fish's color quality. I assume it aids digestion, since wild fish spend lots of their time digging food out of the dirt. I have used just about every Oscar food available and no other food produces as little waste as this--which keeps the water cleaner and the fish happier. I would think that the clay is an essential part of a fish's diet that is often lost in an aquarium. I have tried other foods recently with my new fish and once it ate this, anything else gets spit out or spilled from its gills. You will not be disappointed with this food.

Como Black 48" Length Soft Flexible Rubber Hose Air Curtain Bubble for Aquarium

Como Black 48' Length Soft Flexible Rubber Hose Air Curtain Bubble for Aquariumbut don't use it often because I also have a smaller air stone and my fish prefer that because all the bubbles created by the bubble wand creates too much movement for them. I only use it for circulation of waste when cleaning my tank along with a vacuum. ( My way of cleaning my tank but it works for me. ) It does look nice if you have fish that like the circulation it creates. Very flexible and it sinks on its own without suction cups but I don't know if its supposed to come with an end cap but mine didn't. Luckily I had extras lying around, other than that it's a very nice product.
