Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) AKD37444 Malachite for Aquarium, 4-Ounce, Green

Kordon/Oasis AKD37444 Malachite for Aquarium, 4-Ounce, GreenI tried several other treatments for ich and this worked the best. It also, had the lowest price. I would recommend using an antiseptic with this. It seems strong, but it works pretty fast!!

I bought this to use as a diluted solution to treat fungal infections in a few rescued poison dart frogs.

It seemed to be of fine quality, and worked perfectly well. I would purchase it again, though I likely won't need to for a long timeif you are using this to soak amphibians, a little goes a very long way!

Hikari Usa AHK73251 Prazipro for Aquarium, 1-Ounce

Hikari Usa AHK73251 Prazipro for Aquarium, 1-OunceIt took just one treatment for me to notice a difference in two days. I purchased fish from two different stores in a new tank. Soon after a couple were not doing well and with a new tank I wasn't sure which fish caused the sickness. I ended up treating the entire tank (removing the carbon) and withing a few days everyone looked great!

I used PraziPro for my new goldfish. Treating with Prazi and salt really helped rid my new fish of any infections he may have had before I got him. I could actually see healing begin (dark spots) after a few days of treatment. Treating all new fish is recommended before adding them to your aquarium.

Como Reusable Round Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Filter Filtration Sponge Black

Como Reusable Round Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Filter Filtration Sponge BlackI have tried different vendors sponge filters and now have them in all my tanks. I like that they operate quietly as the add more oxygen to the tank. They are easy to use and keep the tank cleaner and my fish healthier. It is easy to clean them and economical as you can reuse them and only need to replace about every six months. My fish and shrimp also enjoy eating the food that catches on them during feeding time. They have made fish and water creatures so much easier to care for. I will keep purchasing them and recommend them to others.

Reef Gently AccliMate Acclimator/Transporter Tank

Reef Gently AccliMate Acclimator/Transporter TankAwesome system. Easily assembled and quick delivery. Love that it came with suction cups instead of the plastic hook for the side of the tank.

This is the old one. Reef Gently has a new one out that is way better. Still traps the same but Acclimates automatically. Look for the one with the suction cups that one is the automatic one. Swear it is the best way ever to acclimate but the old model is the one with the bent plastic hanger thing with no suction cups. If you go to reef gently's site you'll see the new one. Great buyand product.

JW Pet Company Big Mouth Ring Single Dog Toy, Large (Colors Vary)

JW Pet Company Big Mouth Ring Single Dog Toy, LargeFun to play with, but a heavy chewer can tear it apart. Apparently after it breaks, it's pretty tasty because my stupid pitbull decided to swallow it when I wasn't looking. He passed a couple 3/4" long sections. After a few days of vomiting x-rays revealed a longer piece lodged in his duodenum. Had to be removed surgically. So if it breaks, throw it away immediately.

My 1 year old. 45 lb. pit bull chewed through this in less than half an hour and it crumbled into tiny little pieces. Not for a strong chewer. Have had better luck with the JW bear chew toy. Very disappointed.

Great for tugging and chewing. Our dog has detroyed many, many toys, but this ring seems to be pretty indestructable.

not bad, i do wish the "large" size ring that i ordered was bigger it seems more like a medium. they sent a pink one and my dog has enjoyed chewing it and tugging with it. i try to find durable toys that she can't break and this one has lasted almost a year now.

I've had this a few months now and its still intact which is really saying something in my house. I have a shepherd, pitbull and 2 rat terriers and this toy has not been destroyed. They did grow bored of it rather quickly but my dogs are spoiled brats that expect new toys as frequently as they destroy them. This toy has suffered little to no damage in the tug wars and is very comfortable on my hands. It really is just a no frill rubber ring.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00529 Ista Max Mix Co2 Reactor for Aquarium, Large

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00529 Ista Max Mix Co2 Reactor for Aquarium, LargeThe reactor works great.

Takes time for reactor chamber to fill and to get a efficiency point.

Had problems with the 90 degree adapter which came with it.

Problem was no matter what i did it would leak.

Avoid the 90 degree attachment and you should be golden.

I am using a SunSun Canister Filter with a Inline heater attached to it.

It takes 5/8ID tubing fine with the green adapters..

Once again AVOID the 90 degree accessory.

Used the glass diffusers at first when I setup my Co2 system. Felt like it wasn't getting diffused well. Tried this out and it only puts out clear water, have seen no bubbles what so ever, which makes me believe that the Co2 is being diffused at or very near 100%. works great for my setup. 50 gallon long.

Id suggest picking up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018WVNXC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_45 if you don't have or want to rout it through you filter output, works great just picked up some clear hose from the local hardware store, and screwed the sizing adapter I needed on the pump.

Buy Gulfstream Tropical AGU00529 Ista Max Mix Co2 Reactor for Aquarium, Large Now

It runs great, looks good hanging outside of the tank. The adapters are garbage though, the could so much of a flood. The elbows are no good. I simply hooked up my eheim tube to the reactor with just the little 1 cm adapters on the in and outflow. They are secure and aren't coming off anytime soon.

Shipping was nuts. Supposed to come may 15, it came the week of the 10th of April. Paid for the cheapest shipping. I think this is a great way to diffuse the co2

Hagen Nutrafin Basix Betta Food, 0.42-Ounce

Hagen Nutrafin Basix Betta Food, 0.42-OunceI use this as part of the rotaion of pellets that my bettas like. I try to feed them differing pellets that are high in nutritional value. The gobble this up like everything else, including their peas and garlic. The "fish" shaped packaging is a pain with the little rubber stopper in the back. Fortunately shaking out too many pellets is not a problem for me because I have several fish, however for one fish this would create aggravation trying to put pellets back into the package. I finally transferred the pellets to an empty container to make life simpler at feeding time.

These are truly weird pellets. My Betta bites it and spits it out several times before he can eat it. Often the pieces turn to dust or fall to the bottom and swell up, uneaten. The texture reminds me of clay which is odd and something I've never seen in any other product. It's the worst betta food I've encountered. The packaging is also terrible. You get a plastic fish with a tiny hole underneath it that is sealed with a rubber stopper. It makes it awkward to use. My advice is to choose another brand.

Hartz Wardley Goldfish Crumbles, 2-1/2-Ounce

Hartz Wardley Goldfish Crumbles, 2-1/2-OunceNot up to the expectations. My fishes are not liking this. Too costly for the quantity....I will not recommend this.

I have exotic gold fish in my pond and I use this food any time my fish reproduce and I have baby goldfish swimming around. At first, the little fish are afraid to come to the surface in my presence and can't swallow the bigger pellets that I feed the adults even if they did come up, so while the adult fish are eating their pellets, I sprinkle in these granules that slowly sink down. At first the baby fish just eat them off the bottom, but as they get used to the routine they start swimming up to get the granules before they hit bottom. Eventually, they are all swarming at the top together looking for granules and pellets as they are all trained to come at the approach of a person to get their meal now. The only problem is that the adults love this food too so you need to put in enough for both! I continue to use this food inside in the aquarium if the babies are still too small for pellets when I bring them in for the winter.

Zilla 11435 Fresh Air Screen Cover, 48-Inch by 18-Inch

Zilla 11435 Fresh Air Screen Cover, 48-Inch by 18-Inch
  • Allows essential air flow in reptile terrariums
  • Durable, escape-proof design
  • Withstands high temperatures from heating devices
  • Provide air flow while maintaining solid security

This product is exactly what it is advertised to be. It fits perfectly over the top of my 80-gallon aquarium (used for a turtle). It's pretty light-weight so it's easy to pick up and move around when I feed/clean the tank.

My only complaint is that some smaller versions of this screen cover come with the option of a small section that you can lift for feeding, but for one this large I could only find them as a whole piece and I have to move the ENTIRE cover every time I feed my turtle.

I wish this had a smaller hinged part to make it a bit easier to feed/water my son's lizard, but for such a large screen you really can't beat the price. It keeps the cat out of the lizard tank, so it does its job.

I use this screen to cover my 90 gallon fish tank in which I keep my ball python. The open top provides great air flow and does not get too hot under my heat lamp. My only complaint is that the screen got pretty bent up during its shipping and required quite a bit of fixing. Spend a few extra dollars and buy it locally if you can.

Lee's Ghost House - 2-1/2 x 12-Inches

Lee's Ghost House - 2-1/2 x 12-InchesClear plastic pipe would have worked better. It just has plastic feet glued to the bottom. The glue must have air bubbles in it because the pipe turns upside down. Feet float to the top.

I have a 14" Zebra Eel who loves to hide in our 92 gallon salt water aquarium. This Ghost House gives him the idea he's hiding when we can actually see him. He's not the only fish we have who uses it. Great idea to keep him happy. Would highly recommend it.

Fluval Spec III Aquarium Kit, 2.6-Gallon

Fluval Spec III Aquarium Kit, 2.6-Gallon, BlackI have had this tank running for about 10 days, and it's been excellent so far for my betta. The tank is mainly the same model as the Fluval Spec 2. This new version has a different LED light fixture that hangs over the lid and is not adjustable like the Spec 2 light. The small knob that tightens the clamp doesn't turn much but doesn't affect the light's performance. The 3-stage filtration is the same, and you may need something (spoon, fish net handle) to push the pump down into the compartment, but it fits fine once it's in (make sure to adjust the flow strength the way you want it before putting the pump in to avoid having to get it out again). The only other difference from the Spec 2 is obviously a bigger living space for tank inhabitants. The capacity rating is 2.6 gallons, but I found it to hold a little more, almost 3 gallons. I was interested in the Spec 2 previously, but didn't get it for either of my bettas because it's a little too small in my opinion.

As with the Spec 2, the Spec 3 filter pump's flow is adjustable, but still way too strong. Even on the lowest setting, it's much too strong for a betta. Fortunately this is easily remedied by inserting a tiny piece(s) of filter sponge into the nozzle. You will need something very tiny to jam it in with, such as a paper clip or pin of some kind. It will take some trial and error with different sized pieces of sponge, but it's worth it once you get a flow going that doesn't bother the fish.

If you have a tropical fish, you will probably need a heater. Obviously with a betta I needed one. I actually have 2 heaters in the back compartment of the tank, an 8 watt and a 10 watt, since one of them alone wasn't enough to keep the temperature at 78F or higher, especially since the weather is cooling down where I live. Also, depending on the wattage of your heater, you may have to move it from the filtration compartment to the other side of the wall into the living space of the tank (at least for a couple hours), since the pump flow might not adequately spread the heat around the tank. This will especially be true if you stuff sponge into the pump nozzle like I did to reduce strength of the water flow. Unless it's summer or you live in a very warm climate, I would recommend at least a 10 watt heater.

This is a great looking and well-functioning tank. The only negative issues for me are the excessively strong filter flow, which is fixable, and the difficulty of tightening the light fixture, which is a minor issue since a somewhat loose light still works fine and shouldn't be a problem unless you have pets or kids running around near the tank...plus the issue may only be with my unit to begin with. I strongly recommend this tank. I will update if I experience any problems.

I purchased this tank at a local pet store since I could not have it shipped to me, but I wanted to leave a review since I spent so much time on Amazon reading reviews to help me decide.

The tank is clean and modern looking, made primarily of glass with two small aluminum "columns" to cover up the corner seams. The back wall and filtration/pump compartments are made from plastic/acrylic, but they are nice quality. Plenty of room for what's included plus additional space for a submersible heater. The lid is just thin acrylic, and while nothing special, it is easy to take on and off and may even be optional if you aren't worried about your fish jumping out. It has an ample cutout in the back to allow for the cords to exit the compartments. Overall the quality of the tank is very good compared to what is usually offered for Bettas in a chain pet store, and I think if you are serious about the hobby it is worth the money and your fish will be happy. The included light is sleek and low profile, easy to install. Not adjustable, so what you see in the advertised picture is the only height the light can be placed at. I think the LED lighting is very nice, not too harsh, and I like that it doesn't heat up like incandescent lights do.

I have had this tank set up for just two days now, and my fish must think he's been upgraded to a 5-star hotel compared to his previous tank, which was an Aqueon MiniBow 1 gallon tank. (Which IMO was awful for Betta...the filtration "system" is terrible...do not recommend.) The Fluval tank is just under 3 gallons, and as long as you don't overdo the decorations, there is plenty of room for Betta to be comfy. Set up was simple enough, though many reviewers complained that the pump is hard to place. Yes, it was tricky but it was not impossible. Just takes a bit of patience and perhaps keep your fish net handy to use the handle. Don't forget to set the pump on the lowest setting using the slider before you place it down into the compartment. Once the pump is placed there is plenty of room in the pump compartment to place a reasonably sized heater. I went with the Fluval 25W preset heater just because that was what was available for this size tank in the store. It fits nicely into the compartment, though I recommend sticking it to the black divider since it would not stay suctioned to the back acrylic wall of the tank. Once setup was complete, I plugged in the pump and was happy to find that it is in fact nearly silent. I only knew it was on because I could see the current flow. If you are right next to the tank, there is a barely audible hum, but nothing obnoxious in the least.

The pump output line has an adjustable nozzle that has a fairly decent range of movement. Many reviewers commented that the current was too strong for a Betta, and in my case, I have to agree. It is not as bad as the MiniBow current, and the fact that it is adjustable is a plus. There were lots of suggestions on how to reduce the current, and in my situation, I bought a taller plastic swordtail plant from PetCo and stuffed some of the leaves into the nozzle opening as well as arranged more leaves around to break up the current flow. This worked like a charm without having to damage the air tubing or purchase any extra items. Other suggestions included stuffing some sponge into the nozzle head or installed an in-line ball valve to the air line. With my particular 'fix', there is still a touch of surface movement but not enough to disturb my Betta or sweep all of his food into the filter before he gets a chance to eat it.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with this tank. I don't plan to add any other fish or animals in with the Betta, so the size is perfect and it has a conservative footprint. If you are considering this tank, I strongly recommend it, especially over plastic or acrylic tanks. I will try to post some pictures of my setup ASAP. I hope this helps!

I got the white version. I wanted to set up a tank with brackish water for the little red Hawaiian shrimp. I laid the tank over on its side with the filter side down and had no trouble placing the motor in. I think for most fish that are not still water species, like an angel or a betta, the flow of the motor on the low setting will be just about right. If you want to decrease the flow some more, bore a little hole in the tube between the motor and the nozzle. This will harmlessly bleed off pressure before it reaches the nozzle. I used aquarium sealant to glue a two inch thick block of pre filter foam over the slotted filter intake. This will not be needed with most fish. The slotted intake is a good design. The little shrimp though are very tiny and could easily be sucked in, never to be seen again. The thick foam block that I added covers the slots plus a wide area around them. The intake flow seems as gentle and diffuse as an air driven foam filter. The water level in the filter is almost even with that in the tank, indicating no significant resistance to the inflow. I expect that the snails and shrimp will keep this pre filter foam pretty clean, but I can squeeze it out in place if it clogs. There is a small slot 2/3 the way down on the filter wall to let water enter a special area of the supplied filter block. I plugged it with sealer to keep tiny things from getting sucked in. I am impressed with the size of the supplied filter foam block. Properly cycled it should easily handle the light bio load that I expect to have in the tank. I have the tank heavily decorated with dead coral, barnacles, rocks, and aragonite sand. The current created by the pump can only be detected by the slight movement of the water on the surface where the nozzle is. It runs as quiet as a mouse p**ing on cotton. The lid will help with evaporation and keep most things from jumping out. The light is plenty bright to display the tank. I believe that it will be adequate to grow the hair like macro algae that I have in there. As I write this the tank is cycling with the algae and snails. It is as pretty as a picture. I would have gotten the Spec V, but my space was not long enough. I would buy this one again. It seems like a great little tank.
