Zilla 09635 Night Red Light Halogen Bulb, 75-Watt
- Halogen delivers more light and heat with less power
- Compact design saves space, focuses light
- One bulb provides both radiant heat and light
- Step up to the convenience and cost savings of halogen
One of these bulbs lights up a 14X12 room when a nighttime bulb should really only give enough light to be able to see the reptile in the cage.

For the price of this Halogen bulb (50 watt) I think this has lasted longer compared to the other brands of Halogen 50 watts out there, which tend to be a bit pricier. This usually gets the job done for me as I have to keep a tank lit.Recommend.

Zilla Terrarium Liner
where's the problem? well, I ordered what was supposed to be a 55 gallon reptile carpet. I have a 55 gallon reptile tank...
so why does't it fit?! I even cut it to cover as much room as i could. with the 3 pieces it covered everything but a little 2 inch by 5 inch square in the back. It is really irritating. I ended up putting a wet towel in that area until i can order another carpet just to cover that one spot.JUST WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR , FOR HALF THE PRICE AT THE LEADING PET STORE. AND WAS DELIVERED FAST. THANK YOU!I use it in our rats cage. It absorbs and cuts the smell of the urine. Its easy to rinse off and reuse.

Perfecto Manufacturing APF33020 Glass Canopy Aquarium, 2.5-Gallon
It is the perfect size for the 2.5 Gallon Marineland Aquarium (11.5'' x 5.5'')! Fit like a glove.
You can tell that it is cut by another manufacture because the edges are a little rough (my original glass canopy made by Marineland had smoother straighter edges), but I didn't find this to be a problem. The glass canopy still looks excellent. Certainly much better than a taped together one.
And as a plus it comes with a clear plastic handle (about 2'' x 0.75'' x 0.5'') that sticks to the glass. But beware, once you but the handle on it won't come off. It is pretty much permanent. I like the handle, though, because it makes it easier to lift the top to feed the fish and clean the tank. Not to mention it is clear so it blends in well, and isn't an eye soar.
Now, lets just hope I don't break this one too.

It is very colorful! It is made to use in a corner but when I cleaned my aquarium the last time I used it in the middle with plants all along the back side, kind of made a division in the aquarium and it looks nice. It is a little bigger than I thought. I have a 30 gallon tank. It was easy to clean too!Dimensions were accurate . Very sturdy excellent quality. I really liked how safe they packafed it for shipping I never had to worry about breaking. This one is also very expensive and too small. I can,t use it with my big aquarium. Tetra LED Half Moon, Betta Kit, 1.1-Gallon
Word to the wise, Bettas should be kept in at least 2.5 gallon tanks with a gentle filtration system if you value their health. If they are kept in still water 1 gallon tanks, changing their water at least twice a week is suggested because chemicals created by waste and left over food can contaminate the tank, especially in such a small area.
I bought a 1 pound bag of decorative gravel which managed to just barely cover the bottom of the tank as well as the bumps protruding from the bottom to accommodate the LED lights.
In conclusion: The title is a bit misleading because I don't think it qualifies as a "kit" because it only includes the tank itself and lights. If you want a true kit, look for ones that come with a filter, lighting, and possibly gravel and/or other accoutrements. This tank is a great size and visually pleasant, however the led lights went out and started flickering after a few days of use. I liked that it wasn't super small...with some live plants it looks very nice.

Let me tell you some things i've learned over the years..1. My Crowntail Betta is in a 1 gallon & hated anything bigger than that..
2. My Sons' Double Tail Betta is in a 2 gallon tank and loves the room he has..
3. My daughter has her Betta in a 3 Gallon tank and he hated the open space as well..
4. Back in the day i had a Betta that was in a 10 Gallon tank with guppies & tetras and he loved it and lived to be about 5 yrs old.
So really it depends on the fish, either they'll like the small space or they won't.. my experience has been about 50-50.
This tank is similar to my daughters' minus the light. So i'd think a Betta would be happier in this tank, with a small sponge filter & low temp heater added perhaps..

I bought this tank at Petco for my crowntail male betta. He got nervous in larger spaces, but seemed to enjoy being in here with a tall leafy plant in one corner for hiding spots. However there is an opening in the tank lid large enough for a betta to jump through. I noticed this from the beginning and tried to block it off with leaves just below the water. This worked for five months; he paid no attention to the gap. Then one day he managed to get past the leaves and jumped out of the tank while I was at work. By the time I got home it was too late to rescue him.
Bettas are big time jumpers. If you buy this tank, make sure you block off the opening, perhaps with plastic mesh, so you have enough fresh air, but your little friend is safe.

This product works as its intended, however I was hoping for a better dispensing solution. I was attempting to apply it straight to the fish tank since my backing kept rolling up and prevented me from applying according to the directions. You could use this goop or some sort of vaseline based solution for your aquarium background. It was a messy, messy job as I spread the solution evenly over the background. I must not have done that great of a job because my background started bubbling and I eventually took it off. Maybe it's a user error, not the product. I wouldn't buy this stuff again because it's super messy and now I'm stuck with trying to wipe if off the back of my aquarium, yuk.I heard mineral oil works similar as this background solution. But I hoped this may work better, Everything was good at the beginning, but now after 6 month, about 15% of the area dried out and I have to apply the solution again.Thursday, July 3, 2014

So far I have few things to say about this filter system. 1: I cant find the replacement cartridges anywhere else. 2: the connectors that attach the plates are really tight fits. 3: The system works exactly as it should though I recommend some sort of media under it to help process the waste that collects there. It does exactly what it is supposed top do and in my larger tank wiht a 55gal sized one I even have a turbo jet hooked up to is. It didn't come with the pump or long enough hoses, but that's just what I assumed was going to be in it. It's not their fault it didn't come with it. But, whatever... sometimes I'm over-critical. But, yeah... already had a hose and then just got a fuel hose connector and some quarter inch hose and boom! Bubbles through tubes in the back of my fresh water fish tank. SeaView Aquarium Background Mounting Solution
I bought this mounting solution to adhere a stunning background River Rock/Sea of Green Reversible Background 24"to my son's new fish tank, a gift for his eighth birthday.
PROS
PRODUCT DELIVERS: Amps the background picture significantly: picture appears more believable, and the colors super bright. I don't think the background would give the same effect by my simply taping the background to the back of the tank.
MARKET MONOPOLY: The only product I know of out there like it
EASY APPLICATION: I expected a gooey, overly-sticky consistency, sort of like wallpaper paste or contact paper adhesive and braced myself for the torture of applying it, but its texture is not sticky at all, really: it's almost like a liquid silicone. I had no problem smearing it on the background and it wasn't so sticky that it stuck together or tried to stick folds of the aquarium background together.
Does not produce the toil and agony that super-sticky contact paper inflicts.
CONS
BEWARE OF THE BUBBLES!: This cost it a star on its rating. While the consistency is not bad, the challenge is fighting those tricky little air bubbles. Unfortunately, I did not see the bubbles until I had the ENTIRE tank filled and installed, complete with decorations, LED spotlights, filter tubes positioned, and a super-cool volcano positioned and installed with suction cups. There needs to be a warning about that somewhere in the product info, like: WARNING: THE BUBBLES ARE NOT VISIBLE UNTIL THE TANK IS LIT.
And I didn't just slap the adhesive on there, either. I carefully applied the gel and I used a squeegee to firmly press all the bubbles out like the directions suggest. It looked great--without the lights on. I filled the tank and put it all together, turned on the LED hood light and bam! a swarm of little black air bubbles appeared.
The bubbles aren't permanent; you can work them out toward the edges. However, it IS tedious and not so easy to work them out, especially when you have to contort yourself around to the back of a filled tank.
Exhausted from putting an entire fish tank together, I worked out the largest bubbles, but left the smaller ones until the next time I change the tank. They kind of give the illusion of little shadows of fish swimming deep in the water anyways, and the bubbles aren't so obvious that they obscure or ruin the view of the background. It is just annoying because I know they are there.
Would I buy this product again? Yeah, it's worth the money. It's the only product out there like it, and made the tank look way more bright, and believable. Cool product.I have tried this product several times and I always start getting streaks in a couple of days. I have even changed backgrounds and could not keep it smooth. After some research I switched over to an adhesive background

This product works as advertised so I gave it 3 stars. I'm pretty sure its just mineral oil or something similar. I used mineral oil on a second tank and it performed the job just as well. The mineral oil cost me $4 for a pint which makes this product 16x more expensive.Read Best Reviews of SeaView Aquarium Background Mounting Solution Here
I was a little skeptical when I received this item, but this stuff is GREAT! I first taped my background to the aquarium to ensure I got the exact size I needed and was bummed that it looked extremely DULL. Once I got the gel applied and the background in place, I was amazed at how brilliant the aquarium looked. I did not find Sea View difficult to apply in the least. It did take a little time to smooth the air bubbles, but with the aquarium light on, it was very easy to see which areas needed work from behind without having to go to the front repeatedly to check where I needed to smooth next. I used a plastic ruler and kept a rag handy to wipe the gel that came out around the edges as I smoothed the background out. I am very satisfied with the end result. I did not have any trouble with the background coming off, but I did follow the instructions and rolled my background the opposite direction it was curling (and left it for a few hours) to ensure it was flat and ready to apply. The gel is odorless and wipes up easily. Would buy again and again =) The picture on the package was exactly what my aquarium looked like before and after.Want SeaView Aquarium Background Mounting Solution Discount?
If there is a Petco near you check it out first. Their price (at least here in FL) was $4.99. Didn't see this product the first time I went there to look for it, but they had it there yesterday and felt foolish for paying over $8.00 (well, to be fair, that included 2-day UPS shipping). The product itself was decent; did the job, not overly messy and not overly easy, either (squeezing out bubbles with a ruler and cleaning up ooze from the product around the tank was expected, but took me longer than I had anticipated). My suggestion is to try using mineral (or olive?) oil, as someone previously suggested, first, or some alternative with that type of viscosity.
My tank's background is about 36" x 18" and there was enough to adhere it to my tank, but *very* little left over (one-time use only). If/when I decide to switch out the background, I'll have to buy another tube, but again, I think I'd try a less expensive alternative first and see how that goes.

Microbe-Lift TheraP Pathogen Controller
I have tried most Microbe-Lift products available for freshwater this is one of the must haves. Since I really liked TheraP and Special blend, I looked up the company online and found other great products they make (check their web site). Most of their products are available through various web sites.
Another plus, is the great customer service this company has. If you have a question about a product, you will get an answer from the company. I am always treated with great respect by their associates.
It is nice to see that both Special Blend and TheraP are available here at Amazon. I have added a bottle to my orders on occasion to bring me to the Free Shipping option (for other products or books I was ordering). This product is definitely worth it to me. It helps keep the water and my fish healthy for longer time periods than without the product. I can definitely extend the time between filter cleanings.

I use this to put good bacteria into my tank and to avoid water changes. It dissolves harmful bacteria and creates the good kind.(I let my water sit a few days which takes out the chlorine the natural way before adding it to the tank.) It also seems to be good for the fish and make them happy. Even yellow tubing will turn clear and the water clears up as well. After trying every chemical on the market that instantly killed my fish, this one is a life saver. You can go 4-5 months without water changes with a good filter and this stuff and just adding new water in as it evaporates. So far so good, and it's natural. (Yes it smells like sulfur but your tank doesn't and it will take the fish odor out of the tank.)
From the company's site:
Chemical free
Increases resistance to pathogens and parasites
Establishes and maintains symbiotic microbial populations
Biologically supports a healthy aquarium eco-system which results in a beneficial breeding environment
Stimulates fish's immune system
Promotes fish growth
Improves dissolved oxygen levels
Aids respiration and gas exchange
Oxidizes both ammonia and nitrites. Also reduces nitrates
Beneficial when overpopulation exists
Reduces environmental stress
Digests fish waste
Seeds and helps maintain biological filters
Compatible with most aquarium flora and fauna
Effective over a wide range of pH conditions
Will not significantly alter the mineral balance of the aquarium water
Eliminates noxious odors

Rio Plus 2100 Aqua Pump 692 GPH
Look carefully at the specs. You can get cheaper pumps that promise greater output, but this one only use 25watts to pump about 400 gallons per hour at a head of 4 feet. I challenge you to find better performance and efficiency in a pump. At the current utility rate this pump will save enough money to pay for itself in less than a year for me (I live in California).
The flexibility of this pump is also amazing. It can be configure for just about any water pump/power head format you need with the parts included in the package. My PondMaster pump for my pond filter just failed again after only 1year, and I found that I was able to configure the backup RIO2100 that I had kept for 4year to use with this filter (yeah, I bought 2 back then, thinking that I'll need to replace them every year).
I have maintained fish tanks and ponds for over 20years, and I've used a lot of pumps. I'm telling you this is the best pump I've came across. I use to really like the Fishmate pumps for their efficiency and performance in pond applications, but the RIO2100 will out last any of pump with top rate performance. I'm writing this review now because I just bought 2 more on Amazon to keep around the house. At the rate the other 2 RIO2100 pumps are going, I may not need these 2 new units for a long time.Twelve years ago, I bought one of these to replace another brand. The previous pump had not lasted long in a pond environment, and this model was recommended to me because of its efficiency and quality.
The water in my pond was not always the cleanest and sometimes the pump had to tolerate the extra stress from a filter that was clogged with algae. After 12 years of fairly constant use, 24 hours a day, I needed to replace it.
I am now on my second one, which I expect to last a long time. The build seems slightly improved, and the power cord is now more robust. The box came with a number of accessories that were not included in the past. That makes it more convenient to hook it up under a variety of conditions.
If this pump can withstand being fully submersed in a murky pond for over a decade, it's enough to satisfy me. But with the energy it saved me, I would have been ahead had I replaced it several times.

We have had this product for over a year now and its still running great, which is quite amazing for us! Either we started doing something right that we weren't doing before this or this is just an awesome product for its price. I highly recommend it!just does not push enough water but runs well will see how long it will last can use it in other placesAt almost 5' of head, my Rio 2100 pumped four gallons of water in 55 seconds. So about 250 gph at 5' of head. I tried a mag 5 and a quiet one before the Rio. It is by far the quietest (fully submerged).Monday, April 7, 2014
Underwater Galleries AUG7211 Island Stonehead
There is an opening in the back and base, which is nice for fish to hide and water to drain for removal. I thought we would have to anchor it down because it didn't feel heavy enough but we just smooshed it down in the gravel a bit and he was good to go. Now Dumb Dumb is in place and ready to have some company. The one I got is not blue as it looked in the picture, but other than that it looks the same. I did not know what size it would be, since there was no definite indication in the description, unless I missed that. It turned out to be the size I thought it might be, though. which is about 3" by 6". I used it in my two gallon turtle bowl (which is supposed to be a fish bowl). It's tall enough that the turtle can use it as a dry land 'sunning' spot.
Vibra-Flo® Battery Air Pump
HOWEVER... from 2 rooms away we couldn't hear the 75 mph winds over the noise from this pump. I don't know if it's louder than any others, but it is definitely dramatic!I use this trying to supply oxygen to keep cat fish survive for twenty minutes driving from supermarket, but almost fish died although the container was not sealed completely.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00529 Ista Max Mix Co2 Reactor for Aquarium, Large
Takes time for reactor chamber to fill and to get a efficiency point.
Had problems with the 90 degree adapter which came with it.
Problem was no matter what i did it would leak.
Avoid the 90 degree attachment and you should be golden.
I am using a SunSun Canister Filter with a Inline heater attached to it.
It takes 5/8ID tubing fine with the green adapters..
Once again AVOID the 90 degree accessory.Used the glass diffusers at first when I setup my Co2 system. Felt like it wasn't getting diffused well. Tried this out and it only puts out clear water, have seen no bubbles what so ever, which makes me believe that the Co2 is being diffused at or very near 100%. works great for my setup. 50 gallon long.
Id suggest picking up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018WVNXC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_45 if you don't have or want to rout it through you filter output, works great just picked up some clear hose from the local hardware store, and screwed the sizing adapter I needed on the pump.

I simply hooked up my eheim tube to the reactor with just the little 1 cm adapters on the in and outflow. They are secure and aren't coming off anytime soon.Shipping was nuts. Supposed to come may 15, it came the week of the 10th of April. Paid for the cheapest shipping. I think this is a great way to diffuse the co2

Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture, 36-Inch
Edit: Correct size arrived, the light output is AMAZING! Don't waste your time on Marineland LED fixtures! This is more bang for the same cost, and you can change the LED strips yourself which you can't do with marineland!
I should note that I have 2 light strips in it currently, it comes with one and supports 3, so be aware of this. The initial light output is still more amazing than marinelands which has no support for extra lights. Be sure to pick up 2 more tubes of lights if you want the max light output, but you wont be disappointed with the initial light output. It took 3 shipments but once were able to install this light we loved it (the first two arrived damaged but thanks to Amazon's easy return/replacement process we were finally able to get a good one!)!
It is very bright on the standard setting, and shines a softer bluish light for the night-light setting. It fits perfectly on our aquarium and shines a very clear/white light it isn't yellowish or "dingy" looking like some other aquarium lights can be.
The operation is simple enough that our 10 & 5 year old are both able to turn it on/off but it is not so flimsy that it can be accidentally turned on/off.
We now have very happy fish!

I have been interested in LED lighting for my aquariums for some time. Most are more expensiove than I would like. This one from Aqueon was just right for my budget. But beyond cost, it provides plenty of light in a pleasing color for my 65 gal aquarium and the the moonglow lights are a special treat. As soon as I want to afford it, I will be buying the size that will fit my 37 gal aquarium. I recommend this product whoelheartedly.Want Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture, 36-Inch Discount?
I am an aquarist with 5 large (>40 gallon) tanks with live plants. I grew weary of dealing with annual bulb changes and electric bills. I began researching LED lights as an alternative. The general principle is that they work well but are expensive. Then I found this light. It represents Aqueon's foray into the "moderately priced" LED market. A great priceyou get the fixture and one white bulb, but you can order two more to increase light intensity or enhance color. There was little or no information available on which bulb was correct for plants, or indeed if any of them were, but I decided to take a chance and ordered one, with two bulbs from a different supplier so I could have a "high-light" tank. This is where the fun began.First, the fixture is actually quite nice and the single white bulb DOES allow plants to grow. They are growing slowly, but to be fair the tank is young and it sometimes takes a while for new plants to develop root systems before they take off and you spend every saturday morning trimming, and then every saturday afternoon running bags to whatever pet store wants them in exchange for credit that when you consider the gas you burned allows you to lose only slightly less money than you would have. Nice quality for the money, which is typical of Aqueon products. Not top of the line, but they work and a are a good choice if you make less than 250K a year. And the night lights are beyond cute and my corys seem to love them.
Now for the nightmare. The first bulbs arrived from a different supplier and were poorly packed and smashed to bits. The supplier was helpful and responsive, although I waited two weeks for their shipment to come in. The second replacement shipment arrived in a giant tube that was so large and so padded that they could have included an Ohio-class nuclear submarine in with the bulbs. These too were smashed beyond recognition. Clearly, the bulbs had been damaged prior to shipping.
I canceled the order and requested a refund. I am sure they are working on it. More googling revealed a rumor that Petsmart had purchased Aqueon. I liked Petsmart, except for the one time when we were there someone dumped a pit bull mix puppy in the parking lot and the manager begged for all customers to help catch it, and my daughter was the one it ran to and then it became one of those "oh s***, we now have a puppy" moments. To their credit they gave us a free vet checkup, food, and some toys for taking it home. And the pupply did turn out to be a great dog except for her eardrum splitting bark and a tail like a scythe that could clear a table full of stuff in a nanosecond. And she had prickly fur too. And she ruled the house for the next 14 years. But I digress. I figured that if Petsmart had in fact purchased Aqueon, then they were the logical people to call to find a bulb for the fixture that they were now manufacturing. Alas, a mumbling voice on the phone informed me that my 36 inch fixture had been discontinued. Back to the internet where a second bulb is now on order from a different supplier. I hope that I get one in time before the entire line is discontinued. If indeed that is true.
Aqueondecide what you are manufacturing and what you are not. Communicate this with suppliers. Find out why the bulbs are so impossible to find, why the supply is so minimal, and who is smashing them to bits. Do some research so people with just fish, fish with plants, and marine folks can make the correct choice without guessing. Include two bulbs with the fixture even if you have to raise the price a bit. Or make it an option. Research manufacturing specific bulbs with specific spectrums for different applications. Solve the bulb problem, and you will sell a zillion of these because they have the potential to be the only decently priced LED fixture on the market. And one that is of very nice quality for the price.

Fluval Plant Stratum
I do not have a green thumb (at all, haha!), and so far I'm surprised none of my plants have melted or given me any trouble. I've even pruned some of the wisteria in half (twice) and it still seems to be doing well! I agree with the other reviews to wash the substrate well -even then, it took my tank almost 2 days to become perfectly clear. If I disturb the substrate now it'll be cloudy for an hour or two, but always becomes crystal clear afterwards. A filter definitely speeds up the process. Sometimes my plants become a bit dusty, but if I brush them any of the dust comes right off. The pH has been lower (in the 6-7 range), so if that's a major concern for you I would look at getting a different substrate.
Would I recommend it or use it again? Definitely!
I did read that you can use regular sterile potting soil or peat for aquatic plants, but as I haven't tried that yet this seems to be a good alternative. It says on the package not to mix different substrates (sand, gravel, etc) with this particular stratum, and as I haven't tried that either I can't say what will happen! In my non-scientific opinion, it would probably just look a bit funky.
Good luck with your own planted aquarium, and I hope you'll have as much fun as I have!very good stuff, anything i put in my 8g fluval grows like crazy. i have seachem sand i also like, gravel plants do fine. but this stuff is great. its a lil hard to keep some plants down but once they root its off the the races. i am growing some HC with great results its pearling like crazy.
just so you know what else im using in the 8g.
2 fluval 13w lights
under gravel heater
zoomed canister filter
5lb co2 tank with fluval diffuser
only a betta in it...
im planning on using this for my future 75g discus tank. either this or ada aquasoil witch ever is cheaper. they are basically the same thing.
if you want to check my tank out here is a link...
THis product does exactly what it says it does. It did have a lot of residue to wash out. I put running water through it in a collander several times and it still has black dust coming off of it. I take this as the nature of the product and not a defect. Make sure when you put it in your tank you do so at a low level close to the bottom and don't drop it from the top. It takes a good 24+ hours for the water to compleatly clear up and settle. I would recomment it for your stratum.

I ordered this due to the nice large 24" on the box, assuming it would take a standard 24" fluorescent bulb. This is not the case. The bulb inside of the box was only 18" in length. I then attempted to see about returning the product, but the return window had already expired (I had not unpacked it within the time period because I was collecting other items to use on a new enclosure for a pet that I had not yet purchased, and when I purchased the animal I unpacked everything then to set it up) and I was extremely disappointed that the enclosure was not compatible with 24" bulbs (I purchased this intentionally for 24" bulb use because I have three 24" bulbs sitting around that have never been opened before).Jason Cook
